Its hard to find an affordable mechanic whos not trying to rip you off with over priced car parts and labor especially in Palm Desert but I found this one about 3 yrs ago or so and have been coming back since. I would definitely recommend this mechanic to anyone.

Carlos did a pre-purchase inspection for me, and I never had to set foot in the shop. We were able to arrange everything over the phone, and he texted me a link to a full report, complete with pictures. Saved me a drive from LA to look at the car!

This repair shop is fantastic, seriously one of the th best My wife and I bought an older version, beater Prius, to save miles on our newer vehicle and just generally conserve gas. We got an extremely low price on the Prius and, not surprisingly, it had a few issues. We’ve had Palm Desert work on the car three times for three different issues and each time the repair was affordable, done right, and with excellent customer service. Carlos has earned my repeat business for sure!

They forgot to put a part back on.I had my 2007 Sprinter 2500 into Palm Desert Automotive in January 2019 to have the turbo repaired. (Invoiced on Jan 28, 2019)This was a pricey repair and they failed to put one of the parts back on the turbocharger system. There should be a big orange sealing ring at the end of the air intake hose. (Link to the part below)I brought the van in to my mechanic at home when the turbo failed and the check engine light was on. He diagnosed a leak and said the air intake hose was very loose at the connection with the turbocharger.I made a video explaining the issue any why Im pretty bummed about it. Had a great experience here as my car engine overheated on a Saturday afternoon and had to be towed to Palm Desert Automotive after hours. Carlos was on top of it Monday morning and by Tuesday’s end I had my car back. Fair price and 2 year warranty. I am quite pleased.

Recently had a main part replaced on our desert car. Drove it home after a successful install, etc. Went to use the car later that evening for a dinner appointment and as soon as we turned the ignition key on everything went blank. Looked under hood to try to see what might be loose or missing. Try it again and the power came back on until you twisted the ignition. All dead again. Took another vehicle to PD Auto and they said we’d have to get it towed to them and they would diagnose. I found a towing company near (Palm to Pines) that suggested that they dispatch their “Battery Service Truck” first since it costs less than sending the large flatbed. I did so and the driver diagnosed the problem immediately as a battery terminal cable that had been reinstalled but not tightened, thus the intermittent contact. I took the bill for the tow company back to Carlos and presented the situation. I felt bad, but declared “ I’m afraid this ones on you, Carlos. He went out back for a discussion with his mechanic and also looked under the hood at the situation. He then graciously got on his computer and generated a check made out to me for the full reimbursement of the service call by the towing company. Sometimes you can judge a business not only by the quality of their work, but how they handle adverse situations. Carlos did the right and professional thing, and for that reason his shop will be my go to shop going forward and the one I will recommend to friends.Les Anderson

Extremely helpful. Small shop, so you have to be a little patient, but it is worth it. I have a rare exotic sports car and the mechanic not only knew a lot about my car, but took extreme and cautious care.

This place is great. Carlos is very honest and professional. I went in thinking my fuel pump was going out and I asked him about it. Turns out it was not the fuel pump and Carlos had a much cheaper solution and had it done the same day. I highly recommend Palm Desert Automotive.

Bought a $ 40,000 Porsche after talking to Mr Dimitri Adlivankin three times on the phone.The car was far BETTER than described !!Dimitri held up the shipment as he was not happy with a vry minor originality issue that he took care of at some expense AFTER I had payed and the deal was done !He has since called to make sure I knew important car care issues .The car came with extras that show this mans love of cars and his standards in doing business ...I can not say enough about Dimitri and my experienceFunny thing,when I read such comments by others I have always wondered if they are planted there ...well I am a practicing physician in Baltimore and can be reached anytime to confirm thisH Makhzoumi MD

Owner was professional and nice. He charged us 1200 for a service that when we called 3 other shops said between 400-600$ though so that wasnt cool. When we left with the tow truck to go to another shop (Plaza Towings amazing btw!) we noticed a hub cap missing. I dont know why but I felt like they shouldnt be in Palm Desert working dirty like that thats not ok.
