I’ve been a fisherman my whole life fishing everyday weather permitting. I thought that I’ve been to every bait shop every tackle store in a 100 mile radius. I don’t know how I missed this one but when I walked in my jaw dropped and the goosebumps happened. I was in shock to see what I saw. Everything that you ever thought wasn’t available to you except on line, BOOM !!! It was in this store! I would highly highly recommend this store not only for the huge selection of high quality tackle, but the owner is such a great guy! Very very humble and super knowledgeable. His staff was very helpful too !

I love supporting local and small businesses, but this place no longer deserves my business. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic, they lost my respect. During my last visit I went in to get some lures and noticed none of the employees were wearing masks. They outright defy the notion of wearing masks. Masks protect others from the wearer and is a sign of respect to everyone else in the community. I wear my mask to protect you, you wear a mask to protect me. If you dont want to respect me, then I dont want to respect your business.Ill go to the Salmon Shop in Palatine to buy my fishing gear.

Good bait shop support your local bait and tackle

Putting together a first tackle box and these gents fixed me up with all the right equipment and more importantly the information about all bait and tackle to use it properly. Knowing very little about fishing myself these guys have but extremely helpful and if your new go the sport like me do NOT let this place intimidate you. Make it your first stop. Really good group of guys. Im new to great lakes fishing and they had all kinds of info to share. Furthermore I came in with a certain criteria for a rod and reel combo. I explained to gentleman what I wanted. He had all of the rods and equipment that I had researched previously there. At good prices and even better than what I had thought. Im only really sorry that I didnt get a name. I will be definitely be coming back with more money.

By far the best fishing / Tackle store in the northwest suburbs. Staff is extremely helpful in answering my questions as I continue to learn how to fish different techniques. Most recently I wanted to understand why I couldnt catch fish using a dropshot...they walked me through different setups in tackle, better pole options, and even specific places to use a drop shot in a SE Wisconsin lake...I caught 6 largemount bass including my first smallmouth bass with their suggestions a few days ago on the drop shot. You will not be disappointed with the products and knowledge youll obtain from this store and staff.

Wasnt aware that this place was there and needed some late-season ice fishing equipment. Prices were very reasonable and the staff was highly knowledgeable. I would highly recommend and I am definitely going back. Also the live bait seemed very healthy and a good quality.

I am updating my prior review. After being told over the phone I was not going to receive a refund, I sent the product back anyway at my expense. They did refund the purchase price back on credit card. Therefore, I am giving them 4 stars. However, I do not plan to purchase online again from fishingurus.com.Do not buy from their online store (fishingurus.com). They do not stand behind the products they sell. While I appreciate that they promptly answer the phone and were pleasant, their response was take it up with the manufacturer. I seldom post bad reviews but this one is deserved.

Wall to wall lures, they can put a fix it on your rig, neat little things to make your angling experience more productive including live bait yes they have a Live Well full of little fishes to catch big fishes Im a firm believer in feeding the big boys

The manager of this store refuses to show common courtesy to his customers. He does not support wearing a face mask in a store that is too small for social distancing. Go somewhere else where employees show they care for their customers.

Best thing about Anglers is the friendly and helpful staff. They take the time to explain and answer questions. If I ask about something they may not have they always offer to order for me. Very knowledgeable when I was first starting to fish again after many years off they were a big help with pointers, techniques, etc. Good selection and I like the fact that they also have a big selection of ice fishing gear also and even some fly fishing equipment.

Most likely the best fishing tackle store in entire Chicago land. Great selection, great prices and most important – very knowledgeable people on staff. They demonstrated a deep knowledge of fishing in Midwest and of all products and techniques. Far better than the big box store where you have to talk with counter clerks that have no idea about what they are selling. This is also a great place to find the hard to find “next year” new and hot items. I’ve been recommending this store to all my friends and they were all impressed.

When there today looking to check the place out and being really new to fishing they took care of me and didnt sell me on the most expensive rig and try to rip me off. They have tons of knowledge and put me in a great direction to start a fun hobby. Initially I was going to go to Bass pro and buy a rod and reel combo for 50 bucks and I thought it looked decent but after coming here they showed me that if you get quality rigs youll have a better time on the water. Ended up getting a awesome baitcaster to get me started and they offered to spool it for free with free training line because they wanted me to practice first and not break an arm and a leg for line. Cant wait to go back there and get my rod and lures so I can start getting some bites!

Came in here as an inexperienced fisherman, wanting to learn more about it. The employees there took the time to go through all the equipment with me, get me set up, while respecting my price range. Took over an hour to help me out and gave me good advice. Really funny and personable guys. Will definitely be coming back for more. Highly reccommend coming here whether you are experienced or inexperienced.

This is the place to go when you want that certain piece of tackle. I wanted Seagar Smackdown braid and none of the BigBox stores carry it(i guess their buyers have no clue), i found it here.

The best fishing store in da Burbs. Deep inventory for all fresh water species and specialty fishing gear. Live bait always lively and staff super friendly. Five stars every trip.

Ive been buying minnows from these guys for years. Over time, the count has been getting progressively smaller. Today takes the cake....I ordered two dozen large fatheads. The count didnt look right, so I actually counted them. Final count -- 21. Three minnows might not seem like a big deal, but when these guys buy them by the POUND, it just doesnt seem right that they short count a customer, especially a customer who has been buying from them for years. Never again. Ill make the 12 mile each way drive to Lees where the customer is always treated right and the minnow counts are always generous.

Wow ! I cant believe how much money I wasted going to Walmart and BassPro all these years. Really nice quiet store and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Came there with my 2 kids today. What a treat ! They helped us out at the register when my kids where short a few bucks for their gear.

My grandson and I sometimes stop here on our way home from the bar. The fishing gear is great. We can hardly wait until spring.

Went there after they changed hands and the one guy said to me, what is a woman doing fishing instead of being at home and cleaning!!! Seriously dude Ive been fishing for 26 seasons. Their prices are HORRIBLE!! I will NEVER EVER tell anyone to go there ever in my life! There is a better bait and tackle shop in Palatine!!

Always bought live bait at this store until one day I bought 18 baitfish and 5 hours later almost all of them were dead even though I had my aerator in the bait bucket. I contacted the store and they made no attempt to even rectify the issue or offer any solution, they tried to make it seem as if I didnt have an aerator even though it was in the bucket when I bought the fish and it was even turned on by the guy at the register, anyway I bought a cast net and now I catch my own bait, keep them in the bucket for 2 days and they all stay alive and work great, wont be going back to this store ever again

There is no question that the equipment recommendations I received, and purchased, from Anglers International Resources increased the effectiveness of the techniques I use to fish...along with helping me be more efficient in my presentations.Just returned from a 2 week trip to Lake of the Woods, where fishing patterns were unpredictable due to the very high water, and came away with a 300 - 400 walleye catch with 5 fish toping 28. The largest of which topped 30 and weighed a whopping 10.5lbs.I attribute a lot of our catch rate and size of fish to the equipment I purchased from Al at Anglers International. From the monofilament we used on our spinning equipment, to the fluorocarbon on our casting gear, from my spinning reels to my casting and bouncing reels, from my spinning rods to my casting and bouncing rods...ALL performed well beyond expectation.For me...there is no other place...simply put...they are the best.

I have a 7 year old fisherman. I have no idea what I am doing. The guy was so friendly, didnt try to upsell us knowing we didnt kow any better, showed my son how to tie a hook and didnt act like we were wasting his time.

I was pleasantly surprised by their fishing knowledge and profesionalism. They have a great selection of fishing products and gear, live bait . Of course I ended up buying some molix lures..
