This location can be a bit of a mixed bag depending on which employee helps you out, but when theyre good, theyre great. I went in to buy my first bass, and Nate gave me his full attention and assistance, as well as solid recommendations.I really dislike how hard the coverage plans are pushed and I almost knocked a star off for that, but I know that comes from higher up, so Im not holding it against the employees.
I came in quickly the other night literally to grab 1 of 2 guitars my son was looking at for his 17th birthday. I just want to honestly say how helpful the guys where with me and told me to tell my son happy birthday. Point being they all went out of their way to really help me out professionally. Also I used to work here long enough ago that I did not know any of the guys and they absolutely made my purchase great
Poor customer service they make my wait like 30 minutes helping other people that came after me. And there were like 4 employees and everyone was passing in front of me and no even asked me if I need help.
I’m not one to go out of my way for these types of things, but I’ve had such a terrible experience here more than a couple times. If you can avoid working with Nathan please do so, I was ignored, and was prompted to return a item after I purchased it because it wasn’t in his convenience. I finally got to purchase the item I wanted and waited for 45 minutes outside on curbside pick area with no response. Until I called them someone helped me out. Unaware of me waiting after I checked In. I’ve had a terrible customer service experience here for a while. Omar is great, best advice is make sure the employee working with you wants to work with you if not go to the next associate.
I havent bought a guitar in a LONG time and felt like I was completely out of my depth walking in to the store. Their sales rep, Brent, was as patient and pleasant as a guy can be. Im really happy with the Les Paul that I got because of his help and Id recommend asking for him if you need a guide around the store. Ill be going back real soon.
Great selection of guitars and equipment. The guys here really know their stuff. They have some great deals also.
Be careful. My mother just purchased a Yamaha piano, a piano chair etc.The piano chair box has previously been opened and resealed. When I opened the box, I noticed a small box inside with the leg bolts and Allen wrench was opened with its items randomly in the box.Low and behold it was missing a bolt and washers needed to finish putting the chair together.Bottom line, the quality control here is bad. As a customer, you have to stay on top of these guys and check all your purchases before leaving the store.
Great Service and amazing help from Brent. He new what I needed and also advices me to buy two,,, so I sure did. Thank you so much for all your excellent customer service...
Its a great place to ger away if you love music. And Ive learned quite a bit
Bought a jazz bass from here online, had a faulty volume switch and when I went to take it back they fixed it for free. Super fun to go try out guitars and amps there and super helpful staff. 10/10 recommend to new and experienced musicians.
Really friendly service as you walk through the front door you are greeted and are happy to help you out. First time going to this store and Im amazed by the whole line of products for musical instruments. Great work and this is worth stopping by
Musically delicious and a musicians dream come true as far as a retail establishment goes. Too bad I dont have endless funds to dispose of. Wanted to play with all the the stuff.
The staff were prompt with my pick up order and while I was there they assisted me with a new microphone. They were knowledgeable and friendly.
Got ushered out by staff after trying to check out equipment. Kind of a let down... I honestly think you need to feel an instrument before buying it.. In person!
Pretty cool lil gig, stuff to CK out hands on. Staff knowledgeable and helpful.
Found a sweet used Les Paul Epiphone for only $100. It was an insanely sweet deal and the employees were the best.
Great service. Good deals and passionate staff.
No pressure, always ready to help though. Love this place.
Great place for 🎵 equipment
Great place to check out musical instruments like drums, digital pianos, keyboards and of course guitars. What I love most is that the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome in the store and are eager to assist you with any questions about the instruments.
Awesome service 😄😄 very friendly.. toons of stuff
1st time here. .Not much inventory and not too clean. ..
Well stocked store. Easy to get to from freeway. Plenty of parking.
Love this place. Bought a new Martin acoustic for my son. Lots of instruments for the kids to try out. Knowledgeable staff help with the process. 6 months of interest free payments helps too.
It was a guitar center and it had a lot of guitar to choose from so it was good
Have purchased multiple guitars and amps over a decade and a half and always a great experience.
Nice kids working there decent service, no musicians union members discounts though which is kind of lame but otherwise not a bad place to score an instrument at a reasonable price
Whats with all these recent reviews with NO words? And no one is saying it lookes like its going out of business. This Oxnard store looks exacly like Fryes did (which is ironic since that closed just around the corner)... Empty walls and whgat ever stock of guitars they have they consolodate into a tiny corner. Low on invertory os a drastic understatement. And for obvious reasons, there were no custoimers in the store on a Saturday! 04/03/21. No sales, no explanation (we have had over a year to catch up on getting stock) and nothing to buy.
Staff very helpful
I’ve always had a good experience with guitar center.Lately not so much. I ordered a $1600 guitar and the website said it was in stock so I ordered it. I got an email saying it was on back order so I called to check. The girl I talked to assured me there were none available so I canceled my order. This didn’t sound right as the website said they were in stock. I made another call to a local Guitar Center and the said they had 2. But the first person I talked to said there were none local. Which is it? Do you not want my money?I went to my local Guitar Center and purchased the guitar because I wanted it.Here’s where it gets good. I ordered a guitar strap for my new guitar and paid extra for 2 day shipping. That was on Friday and I understand the cut off time but please just send an email.
Not a very large selection but the store was well kept
Good stuff i bought a electric drum set an aliess a ten piece its great
Oh typical of this type of store I always feel like I’m being watched in this place but I’m not gonna buy something if I don’t use it first if you’re looking for drums though I recommend going to DW drums in Camarillo
On Feb. 28, 2019, i bought a Big Baby Taylor which was on sale for $395.00 and bought 24 month insurance for $69.99. Well on August 3, 2020, the headstock broke due to an accident which is covered by the insurance. I took my guitar down to the Oxnard store to show them and to file a claim. Felipe was very nice and assisted with the claim. I received my eGift Card on August 7, 2020 for the amount purchased minus the insurance. $423.64 to be exact. On August 12, 2020, I called and asked for Felipe. The person who answered said he was not available. I gave my name and cell number and stated that i would like to get a replacement. The person looked up my information and said no problem and he will let Felipe know. On September 10, 2020, I decided to call to see what the status was. I spoke to Felipe and he stated he never received the message to go ahead and send out a replacement. Felipe turned over my call to Vanessa so she could order my replacement. The order is placed, however I was charged the current price of $449.00 instead of the sale price of $395.00. When I asked her why, she stated that is the current price. On top of that, she said they would have the guitar the following week. I receive an email on September 12, 2020, stating the item is on back order. When I called and spoke to Omar on September 21, 2020 to inquire as to why I had to pay more, he stated he would have to talk to Johnny the manager. Neither of them could really explain why I had to pay current retail price when it should be a replacement at no extra cost except for the insurance that I purchased for $79.99.I have yet to receive my guitar and a real explanation as to why I had to pay more when this should be a replacement at no extra cost. I understand having to buy another 24 month insurance since I used my other one.
Absoulute scams and racsi
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. They are neither set up nor knowledgeable about how to use digital transactions. Ordered something on Friday for pick up on Saturday - they claimed vehicle pickup. Did not receive any communications from them. Went in and bought the guitar clips, asked about the online order. There is nothing we can do. You will have to WAIT for Guitar Center to acknowledge it, then CANCEL your order. As of Sunday, they took my money but have yet to acknowledge the transaction and pick by vehicle as advertised so that I can cancel. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ONLINE ORDERS.
Excellent polite precise professional service..thank. You
5 stars for General Manager
Love that when you have a passion for music and they increase your passion amongst all musicians. This place is incredible and not that expensive
Great selection, knowledgeable staff and good prices.
They misinformed me by telling me that they were done repairing my bass so i drove there and found out that they were not done with it. They apologized and gave me a pair of drumsticks for free so Im still giving them 5 stars.
So far they are open normal hours (with the de rigueur COVID protocols).
It was a pleasant visit thankyou
Its always a great experience here. The staff takes good care of you and is very helpful.
Guitar center is one of my favorite places to go to whether or not I have money. As a music lover and a musician being here is like being at Disneyland because this is one of the few places where I can try out all kinds of expensive and exotic instruments. Theres a lot to explore and enjoy in your journey as a musician here.
Great store. Solid staff. Better than most GCs
Ethan was knowledgeable, polite, and very helpful. We found what we were looking for and spent about $90.00 less than we expected, without losing any quality on the items we purchased.
I got a good price on my item, but I wasnt told that an SD card was not included with it.
Bought a mic-stand with a screw broken. I did not use it for several months before I found out it didn’t work right before a gig. They will not exchange it because of the time it’s been since I bought it, but gave me a good discount on a new one. Did not get exactly what I wanted, but I cannot complain about the service. Thanks for helping me out!
Knowledgeable staff, took one of my dads guitars to get restrung. Prompt service good pricing.
Love these guys. I bought my guitars here and am currently taking lessons here. The staff is very accommodating and instructors are awesome. Alex and jermarie really help you learn and bring out the best in you!
OK service here that could be a little bit better. Its a little chaotic here, very good range of products and prices are the usual music store discounts. I was able to get the product today rather than wait to be shipped.
They were ok. Helpful
Their website is nothing but lies. Dont believe anything you read on it. Nothing is accurate, even when it says the item is in stock it wont be. The employee even said it just lists it an in stock to get you to come to the store. Shady Business Practices. I will never be a customer.
Great prices on equipment
I get that cognitive bias leads people to post more negative reviews than positive, but somebody needs to say something.I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid, but this location has entered a period of sharp decline. The acoustic room is next-to-useless. Any guitar worth considering buying, comparing, or evaluating for a serious musician is chained to the wall. All the rest are rendered useless because the strings on them are clogged up with dust and grime. It’s impossible to know what these instruments would feel or sound like if well-maintained. Same thing in the electric room, where most non-off-brand guitars are placed far out of reach. It’s become too much work to come in and consider new options to expand your musical horizons and become a better player.Today, I came in and gave up after five minutes. Take the extra half hour and drive to the Westlake location. Your inner musician will thank you for it.
The store manager John Contreras is for the customer & always makes my visits an ease! The store is super clean as well! A must see ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Went in with my daughter to buy her 1st guitar. Selection was good and we were able to find a nice instrument in her price range. Staff was attentive but not pushy. We wound up with a nice guitar and case. She bought a 2 yr protection plan and we still got out the door for less than $300. Al in all, a pleasant and productive experience. Im watching for a Modern Player Telecaster Plus so Im sure Ill be back :-)
Brought my electric guitar in recently for a wiring repair and they were extremely helpful... Got it fixed up in less than 15 minutes and the price was more than reasonable. Would definitely use their services again!
I was there to purchase a gift for my son. He was there to sell a guitar. Took awhile because of the holiday, but crew was helpful, friendly and the music played by the trio for the customers was good and welcomed.
Note to anyone selling a guitar: if there is no serial#, they wont buy it.
I really like this store. It is all well organized. I kind of do feel like some of the employees look a bit frustrated when I ask a simple question but in the end they do an outstanding job at helping out. There was this one employee who stood out. He helped us find a snake that met our needs and was at a great price. I cant recall what his name was but he was great. So overall this place is great.
Fast and convenient
Came here to shop for a mic for vocals. I was asked many times by different employees how I was doing and if I needed help. When I finally started asking questions the lady that helped me was awesome. She showed me a good priced mic that wasnt on display but was exactly what I needed. Ive also purchased a bass here and half cab before and the service is always great.
To my surprise they sell full guitars and not just the centers. 11 out of 10
Lots of musical instrument options. Great setups to try or the instruments. Staff was not super helpful though. Probably your best place to get anything musically related
Great personal service. Prices are firm and got no extras with my new Washburn guitar.
Its So sad to go to Guitar Center now a days. Nothing is stocked anymore. Inventory is a joke. Its completely tailored to beginners. If you want any serious gear youll have to order it online. Also GC restructured the sales staff. They used to have product specialists on hand. If you had a gear question they would know or find out the answer. Nobody has the Authority to do returns or handle anything other than just a simple transaction. And they dont have any idea what or how to use the gear they sell. Very sad.And my critique is towards All Guitar Centers not just this location. If you are in this area you would be better served if you drove to a Sam Ash or Instrumental music.
Guitar center is a well known business; however, this past holiday they sold my wife a soundboard mixer as new and when we tried to set it up for our son the software licenses had already been claimed. Yet, nowhere on the packaging was there a used, or returned item label. This location can keep their used equipment. Ill hit up other local music stores, or if Im up to it Ill go to the guitar centers in the San Fernando Valley.
Waste of time to stand outside in line and then they try to sell me an item (Audio Technica m40x headphones) that comes in a really beat up box and it is on display (you can see them for yourselves). They told me to come back the following Friday for a new shipment. So I went back and wait in line outside, and still the same beat up box item is what they had for sale...I will try Music & Arts next.
Too many kids running this place. I remember when they had older and more experienced sales staff who really had some product knowledge, mainly because they were also musicians themselves and knew a thing or three about equipment. The workers here now are not really salespeople in the true sense of the word, but simply cashiers. This store is fine as long as you come here knowing exactly what you want or need already. Its still fun to browse and try stuff out, too.
Great help
A big box store like so many others that have put the Mom & Pop stores out of business. Yes, maybe you get a bigger selection, maybe somewhat cheaper prices, but you dont get any customer care, personal care or much satisfaction. If you are a beginning student on guitar or drums you will not get much help to determine the best instrument for you. If you are a seasoned musician you will know what you want, and how to compare instrument quality and price. There are not enough staff to assist any one. I waited almost 1/2 hour to make a purchase!
Nice guitar center with a decent selection of gear. Not the biggest, but they do maintain a good variety of equipment, and the staff has been friendly so far in my experience. While yes, the staff may not be the most knowledgeable, they usually try their best to get the correct answer/solution in the end. I only went here to trade in some gear, but have come back for strings and small stuff I need. I probably would not come to this location to make a major purchase though, unless it was the last one in stock and they happen to have it.
Very knowledgeable staff. Bought a used guitar and returned it because I wasnt satisfied. I received my full refund with no quotations asked. Great customer service.
Great selection, prices, and outstanding staff.
This place has become my life meaning ever since I started playing guitar 5 years ago. I highly recomended for those who like.trying.every.type of guitars or pianos. It`s fun you are gonna love it.
Nothing more rude that having to wait for the sales man to finish to play the guitar in order to pay attention to you.Or make noises with the guitar while you are talking to him.Or also just point somebody like me who is completely newbie to a bunch of boxes with guitars rather than helping the person out.Poor experience. No wonder why people prefer to buy online, which I recommend you to do.
Great store for all your music needs.
Cant go wrong if you are looking to save money.
A cool collection of music making instruments and accessories with professional advisers and coaches available to assist customers. Play, feel and hear the sound from the instrument before you even think about buying it.
Always fun here to tinker with different instruments and music gadgets. The staff is really helpful too! 👍
I was looking for a specific item so I asked the cashier and she kindly directed me to the opposite side of the store, so I went. I asked that cashier where my item was and he didnt even know they had it in stock!! (After searching the computer) I found everything I wanted but it took a while
Ordered a used drum set and they didnt send the Tom holder. Called several times all day and no one is picking up.
Went in looking for violin accessories because online it said they carry them. Not very many is all I have to say. One size bow and only one type of violin, which was sold out.
Excellent place went their too get a guitar checked out the guys were simply the best 5 star for the staff and place
Most of the employees are knowledgeable. They have a lot of guitars and amps. I usually just go there for strings, sticks, pedals sometimes. I cant really complain that they dont carry certain amps and guitars because the ones i want arent in demand.
Why would you close during quarantine? Just let people know that the instruments shouldn’t be touched and help them out with getting what they want 1/person while wearing a mask. I’m sitting here with broken guitar strings and you guys are closed, what gives. Y’all aren’t even making an effort.
Guitar center is a great place. They have lessons to learn how to play instruments. But sometimes they dont have enough employees.
Been coming here for the past 14 years. My whole studio is all put together from purchases made here. Staff has always cut me a deal and made somethings possible when I was short on money .
Walked it, employees where ready to help me get what I needed, pretty clean place. Would definitely recomend coming here. (employees are musicians too so they totally got me)
This is the best place to get aguitar the even will teach you how to play a guitar and they will fix them
I have been coming here almost weekly for the last several months (toy store for adults) and must say that the customer service has improved greatly. Employees are welcoming and helpful, and store is organized and loaded with anything you could want. They do price match all competitors and always look at prices on their app (Sales) before going into store. Thanks GC Oxnard!
There are guitars here, so yeah!
Great and ample selection. They even sell vinyl and DJ turntables. Nice staff.
Great place! Omar is the bees knees, super cool and helpful dude👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
