BAM in Owensboro KY is going out of business by the end of January 2020.

This is actually Big Lots. They were very helpful and since Google thinks its books-a-million Im just rolling with it.

Great selection of books and gifts. The spouse always likes to browse her books, so, you really need a brick & mortar building to do that in. I like to get a sudoku book to do. Lots of magazines, from popular to obscure. They have a couple of places to sit & relax. Nice environment. A good time was had by all.

Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Love looking at their newest board games.

Not too bad. I went because theyre closing and having a going out of business sale. Even with the chaos that accompanies a store closing, everything will still in order and easy to find, the employees kind and helpful. Books were 20% off and toys were 50% off. You do have to watch your discounts though because some books are clearly offered at 50% off but dont register the discount at the register. And, if it doesnt show at the register, the employees will not give it to you. There were more than a few customers arguing about pricing (again, when they were clearly marked) but they werent budging. Whatever rang up stood. Not a bad experience. Wish they werent closing. Ive always enjoyed this particular chain and wasnt at all disappointed with this store.

I could spend all day in this store! Comfortable seating,, a coffee shop and an endless variety of reading material! They have a wonderful selection of childrens books and even some early childhood reading related toys They have a wide variety of calendars and offer magazines and puzzle books as well. The staff is always friendly and eager to assist you in finding whatever you may be searching for. I look forward to going when I have time to browse because its such a relaxing experience. Plus, the coffee smells so good 😂

You know why this place is going out of business? Because they have no logical method of actually locating specific books. Im not going to spend 3 hours looking through every rack in hopes of finding a book Im looking for.

Its a bookstore with a coffee shop inside. Though not a ton of nonfiction to choose from. Coffee was good, employees were pleasant and helpful. Good place to shop for books if there are no small local bookstores to shop at.

I could spend hours here (and I have). They have great selections. Their book/DVD buyback system is a good way to get rid of some unused books and movies and get a little back for them. Youre not going to get what you paid for them, but thats not how buyback systems work. This system also means that they have some gently used books and movies at a lower price than the new copies, which is great when you dont need the new shiny cover!

I love Books-A-Million, there is always a large selection of books, magazines, and other reading material to choose from. They also have collectables, like action figures or other things based off of TV shows or movies. I just bought a book based on Survival, I plan on going with a group of friends on a trip where we basically live off the land for a few months. So, the books I got would definitely help me.

I always love this place. They have a broad selection of genres. Mostly its just newer books or very popular publications within those genres. Ive found a lot of good books here, just wish there were more obscure books or an option to order Indi books. The cafe is amazing. Seriously love their coffee.

I love this store. Staff is friendly and helpful, and you can usually find some pretty good deals on books. Highly recommend over other book stores. They seem to have more options than competitors from my experience.

It is a unique store, really has unique gifts . But I am sadden, our store is closing, guess its the sign of the times, guess people are not reading books or looking for something different anymore, I like the tangible things you can look at and touch to buy it, they always had great employees working there always helpfull . Will really miss it .

The store is always quiet and relaxing. The employees never hound you, and I appreciate that. You can go in, get a warm greeting, and browse through all of the lovely aisles of books. The store is quite expensive though, especially for the non-book items unless you get them on clearance.

I think if this is the only bookstore around this will have to do the job. Prices are high for the merchandise, staff is absolutely pointless and the coffee is decent most of the time. They removed the seating for some reason so dont expect to preview a book comfortably before you buy it which is a real shame because like I said the books are expensive. Also another loss on ratings is the constant harrassment about signing up for some membership or magazine subscription at checkout. However they did start selling used books and movies which could potentially be fantastic for business.

Staff are amazing. Came in with a wishlist for daughters birthday and they found everything on the list and found the discounted rate for some of the expensive ones. Awesome thanks so much

I was so disappointed in the customer service. The staff were too busy conversing while I struggled to find a book. When I ask the clerk just point and the continued with her conversation. Never again. Ill stick to Barnes and Noble

I love shopping at Books-A-Million you usually find what youre looking for there and most of the time you find so much more that you want and didnt realize was even available. It literally has everything from novelties, Games, books, vinyl, record players, it has everything.

A readers delight. Ranging selections, hidden gems and a coffee bar to boot. Who could ask for more.

My favorite part is Joe Muggs. If I want to read a book with a coffee, this is where I go.

Came in for some browsing with my son this evening. Staff unfriendly and glared at us. Sat at a table in the cafe near the ONLY outlet available in that corner of the store and it was BROKEN. They only had a handful of outlets throughout their large facility. Bookstores are a dying breed and things like this are the stake in the heart. Sad.

Went into books a million in owensboro this morning (black friday) around 8am. When i was going in there was a lady smoking a cigarette standing in the door way (half way inside the exit door) talking to the cashier. The store smelled like a cigarette. As i was going to pay, i seen that this said lady was an employee. So i went to my car and called the store to speak to the manager. To my suprise, Becky the store manager (or so she said) got on the phone. When i told her why i was calling she played dumb then i went on to tell her im pretty sure she was the employee i was calling about. She said she was and said she was very sorry....Very sorry? Very sorry? I mean really? Its illegal to smoke within 20 feet of an entrance of a public place. So not only does this manager set horrible examples for her employees, she stinks up the store, and breaks the law. The store was not very busy when i was in there this morning, so in oretty sure she could have easily walked away from the building to smoke her cigarette.

I was looking for a specific author and tried to search for it on the shelf, and found their organization very poor. There was no one to ask for help because all employees (I think there were 3 at the evening hour we were there) were up front at the coffee counter. When we came into contact with said employees at the front of the store once more, they were friendly as we walked out.

I go to this book store every wensday I love this store they have any book I can ask for (Im a 26 year old girl with a wide palate of books )

Incompetent idiots. Website said the mags i was looking for was there in limited supply. Limited supply? I know theyre not printing them there. Called first to make sure they had some still there. Told they didnt. Checked their computer and they dont carry it. Knowing he was most likely a moron, went to the store and poof, right where theyve always been. Actually about 3ft away, hadnt used this price guide in years. Someone had turned the new update card guides backwards showing a hockey cover, Im repricing sports cards. Thinking it was hockey, grabbed it along with the other two I needed. Useless to me. Couldve been a kid or customer but unlikely since it was lined up with the other individual sports. Glad Im getting rid of my cards so I dont have to deal with them again.

Prices were a little high for me. We usually shop in Bowling Green. It was hard to find what we were looking for. We even asked where a specific book was and was told, but then had to ask again and be taken to a different area. Coffee was horrible.
