Went in to get a new pair of glasses. The staff was nice, & the doctor who saw me did a good job, & I like that I got my eyes x-rayed with this new machine they had instead of having them dilated again. Plus, it see your eyes so much better. Selection of glasses was not bad. Overall, it was a good visit.

Vision Works was excellent from the Manager and associates working in the store. Very helpful but also allows you the time for privacy to pick out the glasses you are going to really like. After all it’s a relationship you have with your eyes, glasses and and lens. Dr. Shake was so compassionate and offered suggestions based on your needs. He really is what every doctor needs to be like whether it be optometry or your primary care. Same day services and reasonable pricing! Sincerely, Linda Love

How in the hell is a person supposed to find the right frames for their face when you require a mask that covers most of your face. This is beyond ridiculous. There are other measures that you could take that would allow a person the opportunity to see how they look in the frames/glasses that they are spending hundreds of dollars for. I have ALWAYS bought my glasses here, but you have lost my business. Truly sad.

My initial interaction with Vision Works was excellent. The lady who answered the phone promptly, was friendly and also knowledgeable. She knew WellCare well. She was able to assure me that WellCare would pay the claim even if I opted for the taking a picture of the back of my eye rather than standard dilation. She informed me that I would only be responsible for the upgraded portion. I originally called Walmart. I’m still waiting for them to answer :)

Exams are great and timely. Everything else is horrible. 6 employees, but only one that can handle insurance? Been done with my exam and waiting for someone to go over my options for an hour. Ridiculous

How many times do I have to reschedule? I got two different texts telling me my daughters appointment was at 4:30pm today but when I got there the lady basically acted like I was a liar. I cried all the way home because on the day I have to reschedule to is a busy day for me but my daughter NEEDS new glasses. Hers are scratched and she has had to go through Art camp without being able to see well. Also worried this appointment wont go thru either and they will just do it again. My daughter is the one who suffers for it. Thanks visionworks. P.S I wish I could add pictures of the texts.

The optometrist was very friendly and explained everything in detail. The staff upfront was very helpful and explained insurance coverage and cost, the glasses were good quality and cost efficient.Ive had so many problems finding an autism friendly eye doctor and weve had so many bad experiences. Visionworks deserves 10 stars!

Everyone is so friendly and Dr. Gaddis was very thorough with my eye exam, and listened to any concerns that I had with my eyesight. I have been there 3 times for eye exams, and love the big selection of frames, it was hard to pick just one!

Definitely won’t go there again for my next exam. The Dr. I had was great, but when it came time to pick out glasses usually someone helps you. Nope, no one did at all, or offered too. Then when it came time too checkout the woman we had was rude. She acted like she didn’t wanna be there, or something. My promise date too pick up my glasses was for Saturday & they still aren’t done with them. It’s completely ridiculous. Eye mart is better than this place! I just want my glasses & not have to deal with them again.

Im standing in line with my husband waiting to be seen. I can clearly over hear 3 employees gossiping about walk ins and how they are to let people know the protocol thanks to covid and complaining about how they are the ones who get yelled at and how if they seen a walk in sign then Id walk in too and yada yada. I get the whole inconvenience of covid, I truly do, but employees are never to sit in the front of a business and complain loud enough for patients family members to hear them. Never. Wait til you get to the break room, dont have one take a break in the back away from patients and vent to each other. Just be careful of your surroundings.

The first time I went was a couple of years ago. I had a choice of the brand of contacts I wanted. Doctor recommended one brand that was much higher and would have costed me more out of pocket than I could afford. When I advised the associate of that, she spoke to the doctor and we were able to choose a different brand. This time, when I was given then trial pair, I advised the associate that things didnt look right. She stated that my eyes probably needed to adjust to the different brand because all contacts were made differently. I had never had this issue when switching brands before. I asked her about staying with the same brand I had now and she advised that I had to go with the brand the doctor recommended. It costed me more out of pocket but I gave her the benefit of doubt. I wore the new contacts about 3 or 4 more hours and everything still seemed off. I took them out and put my others back in and I can see perfectly. Not sure of the issue but Im definitely not happy with the new contacts yet. The doctor however was very sweet and wonderful.

Bought glasses there. I like them i went back to get another pair .got run around by desk for 2 weeks computers were down everyday.They discriminate against americans with disabilities. Still never got thru . im thinking they only want white customers

They are always behind. Always have too many patients scheduled, especially during COVID-19. Not even enough places for people to sit and be spread out. I waited 10 minutes at the door just to get my temp checked and get checked in. I will not be back.

Had a 1:15pm appointment didnt get put in room until 3:40pm. Stayed in exam room waiting for 45 minutes, finally left the place at 4:37pm!!! Horrible time management, apparently their time is the only time that matters.

Was in and out in no time. The Dr I had was great, very nice. The lady that took care of getting my glasses together, measuring and fitting was very knowledgeable and amazing. Now the lady that did the pre exam not so much. Wasnt very friendly at all. But overall experience was great!!!Stacy O

Most of the staff was helpful and friendly, however, the first person I had contact with ( a young lady working the desk) was less than helpful. When I told her I had an appointment and did I need to check-in. She seemed put out by my question. Without saying much more than fill this out, she handed me a clipboard. Then I said nothing when I turned it in. When my name was called I had stepped into the restroom, but my wife was in the waiting area and told her that I was in the restroom. She simply called the next person. A few seconds, later I came back to the counter and she said I would have to wait. I explained that I had an appointment and it was already 15 minutes past my appointment time, one of the staff that did the pre-exam examination said she would take me back. As we were going back the young lady told her that it was time for her to leave. She saw me anyway. Good customer service, on her part. No one had name tags so I dont have names.Bottom line a very good experience with the one exception.

I had an appointment and still waited forever to be seen. But overall I am satisfied with the visit, the exam took no time. Although the cost and options on frame types and lense types could be written out on a piece of paper to visually see and completely understand what you are getting.

Awful experience here. They dont care about people at all and their staff is extremely rude when you walk in the door. I wish 0 stars was an option. One girl tried to be polite and the shrill ones wouldnt let her.

I had kind of a rocky start with the first pair of glasses that I got here. However, once I expressed my concern, not only one but two managers contacted me and promptly corrected the issue. They have a great variety of frames here and great prices on glasses and contacts both. Even though things started off a little rough I would highly recommend Visionworks. This will be my new go-to store for glasses and contacts.

Was told my frames I purchased had a manufacturers warranty so didnt get the comprehensive warranty frames broke then was told manufacturers warranty dont cover brakes!! This is crazy! They didnt even try to help me!!!

I was a walk in, and was greeted very nicely by the re receptionist. The doctor and the staff really made me feel cared for...hands down by far my best experience at a visionworks. Received my glasses I wear progressive online bifocals first time they have ever been right. I will most definitely return to this visionworks.

They took my insurance which was great but what made this a great experience is the fast service, and the fact that the doctor took the time to explain everything to me. I left knowing my prescription and that my 3 year old has an astigmatism. All of the staff were very kind and patient with my child.

Super fast, in and out in 20 mins. They have a new machine to check the back of your eyes instead of dilating them. My insurance wouldn’t cover it but it was only 30 bucks well worth not having the uncomfortable blurry vision with dilation. Ended up paying $40 bucks for my exam, normally I pay $45 and have to wait hours. I like this place.

UPDATE : I finally went back because I was told there was new management, etc. It was a positive experience this time.... The last time I was there, I was treated so poorly, I vowed never to go in there again and I havent. Neither will my daughter and her family of 5,nor my husband. The time before my last visit I had spent over $500 just on myself. I dont know, maybe theyve improved since then, its been about 2 yrs since Ive been there, not sure if Im willing to try again...

When I say that I was dang near blinded driving at night thats and under statement. I put my glasses on and drove all the way home in the dark . I almost cried. It was one of my biggest concerns. And now Im so happy that I can finally see. I owe it all to Vision works.

Completely incompetent employees. 45 minutes after my SCHEDULED appointment I am still sitting in the lobby. Explanation from the person at the front desk...I have walk ins in front of me, and they have to work around the walk ins and get them out in an orderly fashion. I was pretty sure that is why I made an appointment.I am fairly certain that the point of making an appointment is to save your space, and assure that people that make the choice to walk in will not go before me.The greatest part is that I seen to be the bad guy for voicing my complaint. So, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. If you use vision works, dont bother to make an appointment.

They are amazing at Vision works on Fredericka St. In Ownesboro, Ky. The staff will take time out of their hectic day to explain things to you. The eye doctor was awesome as well. He really seemed to care about me in general, it just wasnt about making a sale. He took the time to explain things in lamen terms so that I would understand everything that was going on. He explained each procedure and explained why he wanted to do things in the order that he was doing them in. He is a very nurturing, caring, and understanding doctor. Props to the whole staff at Vision Works on Fredericka Street in Owensboro, Kentucky. I highly recommend them to everyone dealing with eye issues. Also there was an issue with getting free safety glasses covered by my work and they couldnt help; however, they did explain the whole reasonings not leaving me puzzled. Thank you all.

I have walked in this location 3 times in the last year to look for frames, twice in the last 2 days, and not once did anyone say hello, may I help you, no acknowledgement I was there, at least 3 employees walked past me each time, I tried to make eye contact but they totally ignored me. They need to be trained how to treat people, never will place foot in there again.

Called to make an appointment for my Daughter and I! Was told I didnt need an appointment to come in after work which was at 5 and they are open til 7. We show up to be told the Doc is leaving early and they cant see us. Offered me a manager which I never saw! I left and called the next day to be told the Doc is leaving early again and then will be on vacation for the week!! I will not try again!! Taking my business elsewhere!!

I called to inquire about contact exam for my daughter. I told her we had a glasses prescription & just wanted the contacts. She said thats fine. We get there, sign in, try to give her the prescription, reiterating a contact exam. She said they will take it in the back. Get called to the back, they start the eye exam. I once again say we were there for contacts. She proceeds. We go into the exam room waiting for the dr. I say here is her eye exam, we are just here for contacts, does she need all of these. She takes the prescription then says she cant use it bc its older than 6 months. If they would have told me that when I originally called I could have saved 35 mins.

I came in to the office yesterday, within the first 30 minutes they had ran my insurance, got me and my son fixed up with the glasses we wanted, was prompt and very friendly. Also within 2 hours of leaving there I had gotten a text saying my glasses were ready to be picked up. We use VisionWorks in Owensboro for our eyecare needs every year and every year we are not let down. Im not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from but I assure you, the faculty are very nice, timely, and seem to really know what they are doing. Also might I add, we ended up getting 4 pairs of name brand glasses for less than 500$? I highly recommend this store.

I called the Owensboro, KY location on Friday to see how late they take walk-ins. I was told no later that 6:30pm. So on the following Monday I came in and was told that they do not take walk-ins because the doctor was not in on Mondays. Okay no big deal. So I asked what if I came back on Tuesday would that be ok, and they said yes as long as you come in before 6:45. Now I was just told on Friday that no later than 6:30, but still no biggie. So I came in on Tuesday at 6 and was told they do not take walk-ins after 6pm and that I couldnt be seen. I informed the receptionist that I was told as long as I was here before either 6:30 or 6:45 I can be seen as a walk in I just may have a wait. Nothing got done I left and came back on Wednesday at 5:26 p.m. and was told that they dont take walk-ins after 5:30 p.m.. so I explain to the receptionist of all the different things that was told to me and she just kept saying, sorry we cant get you in today. I started to get upset saying this is not right, someone is not being consistent on what youre telling people and nobody is on the same page. The receptionist just kept insisting there is nothing she can do they dont take walk-ins after 5:30 p.m.. Finally another employee walked up and told her that they could take walk-ins, and had the receptionist at the front desk put me in the system. I do not know if this is a company issue or a single location issue but they all need to get on the same page.
