Hours changed. Moneytree to was open 7 days a week. Hard to look at cool old/used games when your closed after 5pm on the weekends.

The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They have some great stuff and its fun to browse before you buy.

I absolutely love this place. Its been special to me since I was a child and its very nice to see that it still remains.

I love the Moneytree/Book & Music Exchange and have been coming here for years. I hate it that they had to close their 2nd location in Owensboro because you will not find an experience like it from a chain retailer. Find CDs, albums, game systems and corresponding games, electriconics and phone components (sorry no phones themselves), movies (DVD/blue-ray only, no VHS), books, comics and entertainment related novelty items. Even though the items are used, rest assured that you are not buying garbage. Each item has been throughly examined upon arrival and they are quite picky about what they take. They will not buy or trade damaged goods so you do not have to sweat buying a movie so scratched it wont play when you get it home; in fact, you are welcome to examine any discs for yourself before purchasing. They also run many deals (often having 2 or more on the same day) including bogo DVDs and box sets, 50% offs, 99€ overstock items, spend $20 get $5, birthday gift on your b-day, gift card bonuses, and many more. These deals will always be posted on a sign that can be seen as soon as you enter the front door and items available for said deals are always clearly marked to avoid any confusion.As far as in-store selection, the collection is vast, particularly with regard to older movies & older video games (think Centipede 🦠and Frogger🐸, the originals). They also carry newer releases in all categories; however, these items are usually a bit more hit-or-miss and in a very limited quantity (its worth checking back for though, to pay only 1/4 of the new retail price!). The only items that could use some help selection wise would be their books. With such limited floor space, they only have room for a few and those will typically be either newer titles, mainstream best-selling authors (think Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson, etc.), or classical bestsellers (Frankenstein by Shelley, Great Expectations by Dickens, etc.).In a welcome change from what seems to be becoming todays norm, the staff at B&ME is always super friendly, courteous, and willing to help you find anything youre looking for. If they dont have it in store, they almost always have tips to help you find it either online or even at another store. If youre looking for something in particular, even if its obscure, and they dont have it at that moment, they will be happy to take your information so that if/when they get it in store, they can give you a heads up. B&ME also offers a rewards program so that you can eventually earn free items from the store based upon your expenditures.The Moneytree will also buy and trade. For trading & selling, if you have ever visited an entertainment trade store before, then you know it is pretty standard from store to store: you will not get the items face value and trading runs somewhere between 4-1 and 6-1 (depending of course on the item in question).You will, however, receive your cash payment for selling that same day, usually within an hour (or however long it takes them to assess & inspect your inventory). If your collection happens to be a large one (for example, a 2000 album inheritance or any body of items similar in size), rather than force you to cart that heavy load into the store, B&ME will send an associate to your location for the assessment. Regardless of whether you are trading or selling, each piece you present needs to be clean, free of scratches, dents, or holes, possess no malodors, and be in full working order. A good rule of thumb for guidance on this is: If you would not buy this item based on its appearance, then chances are very good that no one else will either!In my personal opinion, the Moneytree offers a much better selection, atmosphere, and price for buying/selling/trading than 2nd and Charles, its corporate owned competitorin town. I would honestly urge everyone to give it a whirl the next time your home entertainment collection needs an upgrade or change; by-pass the corporate fat-cat and support a local business instead...You wont be sorry!!

They had a tent sale and it was Amazing!!We bought movies, shows, n games and spent less than 20$. Had a great time! One of my favorite places with the kindest people working there.Thanks Guys!!

Ive been frequenting this store for years. The addition of a lot of bargain store items from soap to curling irons added a lot of clutter and took away the feel of the store Ive known for so many years. Also due to market changes the selection on things I seek out has slimmed substantially. To no fault of theirs. This is just my personal view.

Great place for used or new books, DVDs, games, comics as well as just about every other whatnot possible. They take trade in so you can can trade some of your old books or DVDs in to get a discount on newer ones.I can spend time just looking through their old comics. My kids love the new ones and my wife likes the puzzle books.

Been going there for a long time, its a neat place to find stuff. They are quite helpfull when you are looking for a certain item, sometimes you can find things you have been looking for. My daughter likes it alot too.

Good selection of older CDs. The prices are good, usually 5.99 for a CD. They are usually in pretty good condition. They also sell vinyls, memorbilla and random game consoles and games. They have a pretty good selection of books as well.

Super great, knowledgeable people. The staff didnt have what I was looking for and still took the time to call the other store and see if they did. Then even suggested other places I might find it. What amazing staff!!!

I went in looking for a copy of the Witcher 3. I was going to buy it on Xbox for 13.99. Saw they had the switch version- which is currently 49.99 at Walmart, and is 41.99 through the Nintendo store. They had it listed for 49.99, which I assumed was a mistake. I asked the clerk what he would do on the price for a used game considering how much it is new or direct download, and considering the fact that he is selling the game on another console for much less. He was rude and told me I should just go buy it elsewhere. I put my purchases back on the shelf and left.

I love going to this store! You can find knick knacks and odds and ends as well as video games, movies and books you cant find anywhere else. You can catch rare vinyls occasionally, and the rewards program is great for an avid gamer or movie lover.

Shoot if you got extra games or dont have a system that youre using or shoot knives or anything that you have laying around theyll give you a price on it it might be store credit but still they got pretty good merchandise

They carry vinyl records! Its hit and miss with it but if you check in regularly. You will find gold

Might as well buy new for games. Prices pretty well are 4 to 15 off shelf. Most of the time on PlayStation, its cheaper online. So sad too because I used to stock my game closets from that place.

This is always my go to play for records and more. Theres a variety of things to purchase and I could grt lost here. Rewards are clutch and I save big $... Customer service is always awesome.
