I’ve been going here for the last few years and I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences. Dr. Thomas really cares about all of his clients and makes everything is explained as detailed as you would like. His concern for eye health more than any other eye doctor I’ve seen. If you’re looking for a quality doctor, this is the place.

Even with everything going on, Oswego Vision has went above and beyond to service their patients. I made my appointment, saw the doctor, was able to order my new lenses, and was called back when the lenses came in to have them cut and inserted into my frames. It is also nice to know that they can take care of special eye issues, such as diabetes, so I dont need to see yet another doctor. I will continue to be a very satisfied patient!

The care from the doctors has always been great but I have had several issues with the receptionists lately. They have been very rude and short. Hanging up without saying goodbye, telling me they cannot help me with fixing a screw in my glasses, and just overall rudeness. This is not acceptable and I have taken my business elsewhere.

Not a fan . I am currently waiting for glasses that had to be re made 3 times . I started with 1 type of frame for a certain lense and they will not exchange them even though they were never clear enough to be worn . I do not recommend this store

I went in recently for my yearly exam and it was so seamless and quick which was WONDERFUL. They had me call before coming into the building to ensure that a room was available and I never had to wait longer than a minute for next steps. Everyone was friendly and helpful!

This is my favorite place to come for eye care. The Doctor and staff genuinely care about their patients and are always thorough and friendly. Also, they have a wide selection of frames at great prices.

Love all the doctors here and have been going for years. but lately the receptionists working at the front desk are anything but friendly. they’re impossible to talk to and commonly don’t realize i even have an appointment. i showed up 10 minutes early for an appointment and they told me i didn’t have one and then let someone in that came after me. after 20 minutes they realized i had an appointment and that i was only trying to find glasses. also always try to make me purchase the very expensive contacts that irritate my eyes no matter how many times i kindly refuse. doctors are great but wish i had a better experience with the employees working at the front!

I had an amazing experience here starting from the front desk employees to the doctor! Dr Sony Thomas was very thorough with my exam and walked me through each of the steps patiently. He provided me with great solutions on overcoming my dry eyes. His advice eventually led to a great reduction in dryness in my eyes. I highly recommend him and Oswego Vision!

I went there to have my glasses adjusted because they were loose. I called, they got me in right away and I was done in 15 minutes. Great job!

I would highly recommend this office. I went for my yearly check up and Dr. Thomas was professional and very thorough with his eye check up. Dr. Thomas also recommended a different type of contacts that wouldn’t dry up my eyes and my eyes have felt better since. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. I usually hate going to the eye doctor but my experience at Owego Vision was pleasantly surprising. The staff was friendly and professional. The doctor did not rush in and out of the room like Im used to but actually took the time to answer all my questions. The doctor explained every step of exam and made me feel comfortable throughout.

After reading the review about contacts, it is very true. They charge your insurance company for contacts before your prescription is finalized. They say they have to charge your insurance at the same time as your exam. It is one BIG lie. It is just Oswego Visions way to keep your business. They also DO NOT stand behind the lenses warranty that the manufacturer gives. There is a 2 year unlimited warranty and they will give you 1 remake in 1 year. Just Dr. Hines way to RIP you off and his staff goes with it. There are many nicer places to work at and to get your exam. Frames are marked up 31/2% also. And believe me if you work there you will be underpaid and never appreciated.

07/06/20: My appointment was with Dr. Avjit Shahi, O.D. for an annual eye exam. Dr. Shahi is affable and easily develops a rapport with the patient. She seems to be a good fit for the recently-retired Dr. Alan Hein!!!

My first appointment with Oswego Vision couldnt have gone better. The staff was very friendly and my doctor was exceptional. Im very happy that I chose Oswego Vision as my new optometrist since my move from Southern California to Illinois.

I had a great experience all around. Everyone I interacted with was professional and courteous. Everyone explained what they were doing and why, as well as how it impacted my diagnosis. Dr. Hein gave me options and answered all my questions about the visit and future plans.

My recommendation is that you can expect a fast and thorough visit with Oswego Vision.

I called to make an emergency appointment, which is something I’ve done here in the past, and is listed on their website as a service they provide. The woman who answered was rude and unhelpful simply telling me in a cold tone “We have no available appointments” and then immediately hanging up on me. I’d understand if there really wasn’t anything she could do to help me if she just held an actual conversation with me and showed the tiniest bit of consideration or kindness...

Very friendly, polite, and thorough service. I have been going there for over 20 years and I’ve had no problems with my prescriptions or my contact fittings. In fact I now live in Tennessee but manage to schedule my annual appointments with Oswego Vision for when I am in the area.

I just called to make school check up appointments for my three children and was told I can no longer schedule more than two family members on one day. I said I was not in a rush to please find some time for all three to come in on the same day as to not inconvenience me and I was told their new policy makes scheduling three people impossible. My visits to Oswego Vision are always quick and easy. The appointments always seem to be running on schedule; Ive never had to wait longer than 10 minutes or so. They are also very accommodating to your schedule and its typically really simple to get an appointment that works. Morning appointments are the best for me with work, and Ive never had an issue setting one up.

This was my first visit with Dr Avjit Shahi. She was very professional and friendly. She took the time to find just the right adjustment to my contacts prescription. The staff was very welcoming and the sanitizing/ precautions taken with Covid were evident. It was a very positive experience from exam to exit! I have been going to Oswego Vision for as long as I have needed eye care (20 years!). Dr. Hein has always taken care of my eyes, but I have worked with the other doctors on staff and had good experiences. The office staff greets me by name, and always asks about my family. They are lovely people. From their first office on main street, to the office on route 34, to where they are now - - They will always be my eye doctor!! BTW - they can fix your bent - crooked glasses in NO TIME. I love Oswego Vision!

Had a wonderful experience with Dr. Cha at our recent appointment. Not only is she great with my typically developing kids, but she was great with my special needs son. Dr. Cha was patient and understanding with my non verbal son. She worked with him to figure out what methods worked best to properly assess him. The front staff was very friendly, too.

My daughter has been wearing glasses since she was 18 months but I was never truly told what her vision was with her glasses until she was seen by Dr. Hein at the age of 16. Since she has Down Syndrome it is sometimes hard for her to understand what is being asked of her. Dr. Hein was great with communicating with her so he could get an accurate diagnosis. He was also great with explaining to me what her vision capabilities are and what to expect as she gets older. I cant imagine taking my daughter anywhere else now.

Dr. Hein has been so professional and thorough with my eye problems. Ive had many eye challenges and have seen so many Doctors, but he is one of the best.
