I am so impressed with the service of this shop. Ricky and Hannah assisted me in understanding how to get the most out of my instrument. I am presently just a student looking to go further into this hobby, and they made thoughtful recommendations on what I could do to achieve the tone I want. Beautiful shop! They have a large selection of violins, cellos, and basses! Efren had great suggestions to replace my violin strings and bow and it sounded amazing afterwards!! Very friendly and knowledgeable!! Highly recommend for all your string needs. They also have a list of instructors they can refer you to if you need.

A tidy and cozy string shop with the instruments, books and accessories. I wanted to put three stars, but I believe I was dealing with a trainee so that would not have been fair. The process took one hour and thirty minutes to rent a single 16.5 viola and case. Additionally, they had to “find” the case in a shed outback - uhhh! What made this experience frustrating is that there was only one customer ahead of us and he was checking out.Full disclosure - my son and I came in and he was immediately fitted to a viola, and rest. Then time just stopped! We exercised patience until time creeped into another event that we needed to be. We allotted 45 minutes in and out of the shop. However, with a single customer ahead of us going on 1.5 hours with very little movement, that was unacceptable. In other words, a full shop would have warranted more time.How this shop salvaged their rating. They simply acknowledged my frustration, and took my pointed, but respectful disdain to heart to speed the process up and get us out the door. Plus, they threw in some string oil to boot. Clean and crisp customer service saved the rating, but no reason to have a customer stand around as long as we did for a single rental.Do not get my rating wrong, we were treated fair, and with respect. The representative and trainee were knowledgeable, cheery and engaging. We will be returning in the very near future and hope that we have a better experience to upgrade to 5 stars.

They really go above and beyond in all aspects.I first came here to change my violins bridge, for which they had 3 different options, depending on your skill level and price range.Then, I was, and still, on the look for a new violin, and thats when they really surprised me. They offer a demo period for whichever instrument I choose, where I can take it home for couple of days and try it, then return it. That was an excellent option for me to test instruments before buying them.I did not feel pressured nor rushed during my many visits, and theyre always welcoming.Thank you, guys!

I happened to drive by the store while running a few errands. I’m a beginner adult player (on my sixth lesson now) and was happy to see a local business I could go to when the time came for bow rehairs and setups. I decided to pull over and take a quick look, so happy I did.Kim took the time to talk to me and realized I was a beginner with a fairly entry level student violin. She showed me around the store and was even kind enough to ask me if I was comfortable trying a few violins. She was extremely patient and let me play a wide range of instruments from beginner, semi-pro, and even professional levels. I never felt pressured to make a purchase or impulse decision. I believe she genuinely wanted to show me the difference a quality instrument can make in your playing and comfort (and it was an incredible difference from my current student level outfit). They allowed me to take their information to set up a date when I am ready to meet with the staff again and play a few violins more directly fitted to my personal preferences. Great experience and looking forward to playing more of their beautiful high quality instruments when the time comes to upgrade.

Marco was absolutely amazing! He spent 2 hours patiently answering all our questions without trying to immediately sell us the most expensive violin in the shop. One of the highlights of 2020: Falling in love all over again with my violin. Been practicing. I recently became obsessed with wanting to learn more about my instrument. Well, guess what? Atlantic Strings offers appraisals.I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Atlantic Strings master luthier Alan. He was a reservoir of knowledge. Alan even recognized my violin years after I had it serviced by him (me not knowing that it was him who took care of my violin). He told me all about my violins unique history. He certainly knows his craft.Long story short: I need to practice, practice, practice and become a regular face at Atlantic Strings. So glad this place is around!

I should’ve written this review in May, but better later than never. I had purchased a “beginner violin” from an overseas website as a prop for a costume I was creating. I don’t know anything about violins and I thought it needed to be put together upon arrival. The guys working the front were super nice and didn’t laugh in my face. They put the piece on that I needed at no charge. Just from this tiny experience I would highly recommend this shop. It is also entirely beautiful inside.

My friend and I had no intention of buying any violin or cello, but we just wanted to see the beautiful curated collection of string instruments for sale. The associate or owner, not sure which, was still wonderful in still spending time to show us the violins and cellos. We could tell he had a lot of knowledge, enthusiasm and pride for the shop.If you or someone you know is interested in buying a string instrument, go shop here. Theres even tiny violins for little kids. I could tell the customers around were happy to be at the store because the associates provide a family-oriented customer service. They really take time to get to know any customer that walks into the shop. They also support local businesses and artists via their bulletin board of advertisements by the front door.I think the shop is also nicer and more personable than a major chain musical instrument store.The store says a lot when the associates are genuinely kind even to other customers who are simply browsing like my friend and I.

It was such a delight to rent violin for my 12years old from Atlantic String. The people in the shop were super friendly and they explained everything very nicely.

Allen is a very skilled luthier. He knew just what adjustments my violin needed--now it sounds so much louder, clearer, and brighter. Also, being a relative beginner, I had a lot of questions, and he was very patient and kind, answering all my questions thoroughly. I never felt rushed. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We have been coming here for a year and a half and have always had a wonderful experience. We have been helped by several staff members and they are all knowledgeable and kind. We will continue to come here for strings and new instruments as my children grow and progress. We love being able to try the individual instruments to hear the unique sound they each make. We have purchased instruments, strings, bows and a new cello case here. We have been very pleased with each one. I love shopping online for other things, but for string instruments, I will shop here every time. You KNOW for certain what you are getting here. Saturdays have been busier in our experience, so we try to go during the week. But regardless of when we go, we get the same great treatment.

He was also very patient as I tried out several violins, and worked hard to get me the instrument that would suit my needs. They have a plethora of string instruments to choose from. Allen, was so helpful, courteous and he fixed my violin in less then 5 minutes. He even tuned it to be play/show ready. He even rosin my bow, I was so impressed! I LOVE this place! Oscar, Efren, and Nick are a super staff and ever-so helpful. I got my strings changed in less than five minutes, a new chin rest (that has greatly improved my comfort in playing violin), and a beautiful bow. I was not notified that all sales were final. I purchased a set of violin strings that costed almost as much as my daughter‘s violin. After paying, I realized the price and asked for a refund or less expensive item. However, the pregnant lady in charge was cold and refused to provide a refund. I will never come back. Please BE AWARE!! Rip off👎Doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

The people here know what they are doing and have me a great deal on Cello repair. Always pay in cash, things tend to work better financially when you do.I dont shop for cello pieces often, and thankfully I dont need many repairs, but I cant imagine going anywhere else now that Ive walked into this little oasis.Keep in mind their is a salesman at the front desk and the location is too small for privacy. Once you walk in you will be center focus, make sure youre ready for that kind of experience.

Atlantic Strings Violin Shop offers the BEST SERVICE of any luthier Ive ever heard of! They were extremely nice and helpful when I needed my fiddle repaired. They let me borrow a fiddle for free the whole time mine was being worked on, which was especially helpful for me since I had gigs booked. They shipped my fiddle back to me when they were done since I live far away, and they gave me a super easy way to ship the loaner fiddle back to them. They made all the needed repairs for a very reasonable price, and I have never heard my fiddle sound so good!!! Everyone I dealt with when dropping the fiddle off, having it repaired, and getting it back, were highly knowledgeable, patient, friendly, professional -- nobody ever is pushy about trying to sell you something. You can try out the biggest selection of violins Ive ever seen and they never act like an annoying salesperson. I doubt Ill ever find such a nice, capable, affordable repair shop as good as them, so Ill be using them from now on even though I live about eight hours away. Gabe and Lexi and other staff there, thank you so much for your help and excellent service!!!

Very professional and reasonably priced. I had upgraded my fiddle through them years ago and received great service! This time we brought in an inexpensive cello that needed some work on the bridge. They took it right in and had it fixed up in a matter of hours with no appointment. We wont go anywhere else.

Bassists: The luthier is very competent and knowledgeable. He set up and installed my bass for solo performance and it plays smooth. When I go there for adjustments, the Luthier is very helpful. Call before you go to ensure Allen is there when you plan on going.
