Absolutely a hidden gem in the middle of a nice neighborhood, where youd least expect it. We loved the breakfast menu and the vegetarian/vegan options, but cannot wait to explore the cheese platters and the wines they offer, either. A great experience overall.
I love this place! The food is fresh and delicious, the vibe is immaculate, and the staff is so kind and friendly! I can’t wait to come back here again and again. This is definitely a new favorite of mine!
Great food and great environment. Love that the staff is still wearing masks. Makes for such a pleasant and comfortable experience. The outdoor tables are also spaced out very nicely. We really appreciate the measures this business has taken!!
Wow Robin the new manager & her team Have done a great job transforming this cute little area into a beautiful spot that is convenient and local to have a quick glass of wine -lunch ….we even got up there for breakfast! it’s got a great feel -the people are very nice and the food is delicious
The blueberry bagel I had actually made me cry it was so good. One of the staff told me all spreads were made in house. Ask their suggestions for what spread to get. Coffee here is great. You can get hot or iced. I picked up some cider here too. Try Pedalers Road Rash Hard Cider. It tastes amazing and its hand crafted in Orlando.
Eola General is a wonderful place, Ive ordered there a few times and all their vegan options are delicious. The bagel chips are my new favorite food as well as their amazing vegan desserts :) The staff is so kind and accomodating, thank you all so much!
The Cobb salad was perfect. The Chicken Florentine panini came on bread baked to perfection and was large enough for two meals (one perfect meal if youre really hungry). They were both made with quality ingredients. Eola General also has a large outdoor seating area in the back with picnic tables which was perfect for a nice lunch outside! We took some oatmeal cream pies home for dessert and one was more than enough for two people to share. The oatmeal cookie was sweet and salty and they did not skimp on the creamy icing. Wonderful place for a great meal with friends or family! Masking indoors and cleanliness was followed well at the time this was posted also.
Such a neighborhood treasure! If youre vegan, or not vegan, youll find delicious sandwiches, treats, and deserts. Not to mention the great selection of natural wines and local craft beers! Bring the doggo and people watch on the patio! Celebrated my sisters job last night with a couple of Sangrias and a chefs board!
Havent actually purchased anything from here or had any interaction with the staff. I simply walked in to see what they have done with the place. My review is based solely on walking in and out. They seem to have good choices on wine and cheese but maybe it just looks that way because Im not a connoisseur
Enjoyed ambience. Great bagels with roasted garlic and honey ricotta cream cheese
This place is so cute & fun. A great place to grab a beverage mid-walk with the dogs. I only wish the offerings were a bit more broad but they do well with the space they have
My first stop every morning, great atmosphere in a historic neighborhood.
This place is great, food atmosphere and staff 10 stars.
Should be named Eola 5 star cafe based on their prices. Its definitely not a general market. Food is great though.
What a hidden gem! Its definitely worth your time. Craft beers as well as local vineyards for wine. Happy Hour 4, 5 and 6 oclock dont miss it. The breakfast is great as well as the lunch options. The Avacado toast is a must try for everyone. Also the chopped parmesan chicken sandwich and the turkey pesto sandwich. Also the dessert is a must try. The tahini chocolate chip cookies are addictive lol.
This cute little spot tucked away in a gorgeous suburb of Orlando is my favorite spot for breakfast! Unique beer and wine selection, friendly employees, plenty of seating - my favorite weekend morning spot!
I went in a few weeks ago and after being away out west I can say this is the gem is a must see/eat. The service is absolutely spectacular. The vegan options are amazing. The food... every bite was a fresh journey. Clean taste, flavor filled and you can taste the love. Great addition to the area, there used to be a store I never bought more than water at so it is great to see the neighborhood has a new staple everyone should stop in at.
Great place to stop near downtown. Great food and drink options!
An amazing place to go and eat, have something to drink, and just be with friends in an amazing neighborhood.
Chicken veggie sandwich!!! Delicious!! Great service.
Great food and great staff. A hidden gem in a pleasant Orlando neighborhood.
Great selection in natural and LI wines. And great apero/snacks to pair with them
This place is adorable and has such an amazing selection of food and drinks to choose from. The outdoor seating is really cozy, and I love that they have a little library where you can read/lend books at your leisure. The service was very friendly and caring - when the lady heard it was my first time at the store, she gave me a free cookie! I will definitely be back to support this business.
Food/Drinks: There are many options for coffee and cold brews - I have tried the Nitro Cold Brew and it was fantastic. As for food they offer plenty of vegan options.Price: This place is a bit pricey (especially for the market items), but for the convenient location I am more than willing to pay higher prices.Overall: I highly suggest coming here for a coffee and then walking around the surrounding neighborhood. Lake Eola Heights is a very safe area and provides cover from the hot Florida sun. This is a great place to go on a sunny Saturday morning!
Great local GEM!! I found this place on accident and now try to walk over at least once a week.
I didnt know what to get at first but the cashier was super helpful! I ended up trying a vegan bagel and it was so good. Super fresh, nicely packaged, and pretty quick! They have tons of options food and drink wise, so youre bound to find something you like.
Wonderful selection of food and drinks. This is a really cool spot.
We came by tonight to order food and while waiting on my husband to decide what he wanted, I asked if we can get water from the faucet for the dogs. She stated no even though they have water bowls outside? (They have bugs in it which is why we asked to refill our own water container) I proceeded to confirm just water from the faucet (literally not even a cup) and then she said Ill give ice. Why would you give ice but not water? We will definitely stop coming here if they are going to be petty about a cup of water for dogs which they leave outside in a bowl with bugs. #lostALocalCustomer
Really glad we finally have a great neighborhood eatery. Can’t think of one complaint or negative experience I’ve had in the dozens of times I’ve been. Everything is spot on from the sandwiches, coffee, wine selection and boiled peanuts. An Orlando’s go-to for a quick bite to eat or even to stock the house. The staff is really friendly and welcoming as well
Perfect neighborhood market. The Eola Soul Bowl is a favorite of mine on the menu.
What an incredible selection of natural wines at an awesome price. I was blown away by the selection and took home some delicious bottles. Enjoy your wine there or take it to go! They also serve Wavelength Coffee on tap if you’re looking for a non-alcoholic bev. Thanks to the attentive staff for helping me navigate my way through the wines.
An eclectic and quaint neighborhood store. I was perusing the wine selection and I must admit I was unsure and directionless as I don’t know much about wine. The employees were super helpful and introduced me to some natural wine (it was orange! neat!). My girlfriend and I got two bottles, loaded up with some great snacks, and had ourselves a great day.
Went here for a pizza pop up event for a friend. Had some of the natural wines very good. Cute little place.
I loved the panini. My husband loved the jack fruit. My daughter loved her salad and my son in law loved his sandwich.
I love the staff at Eola General. Theyre friendly, polite and make you feel like family. Going to EG with my newspaper and having a bagel and coffee is one of my guilty pleasures.
Great little place with lots of products. Despite the quantity everything is well thought out. The bagels are not super traditional. They are airy and dont sit on your gut like a sack of quarters. This is a good thing. The roasted garlic cream cheese is phenomenal. My only qualm is that I wish they had a cold coffee drink option that wasnt cold brew. Cold brew gives me the jitters so as much as everything looked good I just couldnt do that to myself. Everyone was super friendly and also dogs.
Great food!
Tremendous staff, incredible food. Finding vegetarian food which avoids having the fake meat or bland taste is not always the easiest. Eola General nails it with their vegetarian dishes!Food + Atmosphere + Staff = 5 Stars
Eola General is an Orlando gem. I was sad to see Handy Pantry close, but Eola General has honored the spirit of the historic local convenience store. They have a unique collection of items for sale, including many locally made products. Great for a pit stop when you need to grab a quick drink or a few AA batteries. Of course, having Swan City Bagels as a co-tenant doesnt hurt, either!
The best! Amazing locally sourced food options. A variety of local products and unique grocery items as well as good beers and probably good wine (I dont drink it). Cute outside eating area with a real community vibe. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Extremely dog friendly. I hope they continue to thrive.
I recently moved away from my hometown and the one thing I miss is Eola General. Everything is amazing - Fantastic wines from Curate, great coffee. If only every neighborhood was lucky enough to have this gem. This will be one of the first places I visit when returning home!
Great people, excellent beer and wine selection, amazing new, food menu for breakfast and lunch, and of course, coffee all day. Local and lovely, nuf said
Awesome assortment of vegan items. Interesting beer flavors
What started as a hodgepodge of local vendors seemingly thrown together to rescue a landmark building has quickly found its identity and cemented its role in downtown life.Swan City Bagels has elevated what can be done with everybody’s favorite breakfast staple. Looking for a simple bagel with cream cheese? You can get it, but you’d be seriously missing out on some extreme creations - these are chef-driven bagel sandwiches.Wavelength Coffee is perfect for a quick caffeine fix or for savoring a complex coffee drink. They’re changing the coffee game downtown, and they’re doing it without espresso or the multitude of artificial syrups and sweeteners found elsewhere.Curate Orlando has become the GO-TO spot in Central Florida for natural wines, all *curated* by an industry veteran with a passion for chemical-free living. If you’re lucky enough to catch him, he’ll chew your ear off with the kind of wine knowledge you’d expect in a Michelin restaurant. The real draw, though, is the neighborhood. Hanging out at Eola General feels like hanging out on a neighbor’s porch, and the staff will treat you like guests in their own home. The vibe is a welcome sanctuary from the all-you-can-drink, discotheque and city bus experience only a few blocks away.Stop in and hang out with a bottle of wine and a cheese board, or build a picnic and walk a couple of blocks to Lake Eola to experience Orlando like a local.
Some holes in the wall produce the greatest rewards. Good food to say the least.
Love this community location featuring great beer and wine selections. Looking forward to the new Belanger Bagels featuring Montreal style bagels coming soon! Great place and great people and great food 5 out of 5 stars
Great spot. Stumbled upon it and so glad to. Great coffee. Wish I had needed wine as the selection looked wonderful. Staff is very friendly and overall and great experience. Will definitely go back.
I love this place so much but I miss the montreal bagels :(
This place is fantastic. Delicious bagels, great stock, and helpful, friendly staff. Just a great addition to the neighborhood!
I love this place. The food is amazing.
Anywhere with a wine selection from curate is an automatic 5 star for me
We stopped in not really knowing what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. Not really a General store in my opinion, more of a corner gathering place with very tasty bites. The pasta salad was good along with the chicken salad sliders. Now the beef jerky platter with boiled peanuts and a pickled veggie side was great! Would like to see them introduce a soup on the menu even though summer and soup do not really mesh, but it is a nice option, I eat soup year round. They are a bit pricey on some items and others quite fair. Very cute atmosphere and the staff was very nice. Will be stopping in again soon! Wish them much success.
They could just be selling stale potato chips out of a shack, and I would still love this place for its location alone.
Not sure what to make of the concept. Seems like they are trying to be like Maxines on Shine instead of a small neighborhood grocery deli that you can drop in for a reasonably priced sandwich. The lunch options are fairly limited and pretty expensive. I paid $17 for a BLT, a small scoop of potato salad, and a Diet Coke. Admittedly, it was good, but Im not sure I would eat lunch here on a regular basis given how expensive it was (especially compared to the previous tenant). Im sure Ill give another chance again, but the selection would need to improve and the prices come down before I would consider eating here regularly.
Probably the neatest little place we found in all of Orlando. Great food, great coffee. Good selection of beers. Wish we found it earlier in our trip.
Great place to grab a quick bite to eat or grab a beer or glass if wine with family/friends. They have a great selection of both, as well as an excellent selection of cheeses. They also have hot/cold tea/coffee and great vegan options.
Delicious food, great coffee, dogfdog and overall fantastic experience. So glad I found this place for all my bagel needs 👌.
DELICIOUS bagel sandwiches! Really cute walk and ambience among peaceful houses. Enjoyed it so much!
Cute little place. My friend brought me lunch from here and after that we went shopping and she wanted me to see the place. So we had a drink and just relaxed outside and watched all the cute dogs on their walks. Employees were very friendly! Very nice chill spot.
Hands down one of the nicest establishments in the area! Super helpful and friendly
First time ever I owe a general and the sandwiches were amazing. Also have this really cool wavelength tea that was divine. Im definitely going to come here at least once a week because the atmosphere is awesome
The.Best.breakfast in Orlando. Period
Awesome pet friendly place!
It’s so exciting to see the open of Eola General! And although they are still in ‘soft open mode’ the food, coffee, wine, cheeses and more, are fabulous. I actually walked down and purchased an onion( I was out and needed one for dinner fixin) .The staff and owners are helpful, friendly and happy. I think this is a great addition to our Lake Eola Historic Heights neighborhood, and I look forward to what will be once the back grass area is open.I’m sure as they work through the kinks these first few weeks we will get to watch a whole new life unfold for our neighborhood! Thanks to the staff for your hard work and being available to the locals”)
Amazing food, great wine and awesome people! The perfect place to relax and unwind!
Staff is great, love the concept too! Wish they had doughnuts but still love them
Loved their chicken salad!!
A welcome change to the neighborhood, offering a space that has brought together an amazing group of local small businesses. They have coffee from Wavelength Coffee, cheese from La Femme Du Fromage, and an amazing selection of wines from Curate. Don’t miss their selection of fresh produce from Lake Meadows Farms. They also have an out of this world menu, I recommend The Messy General!
Amazing vegan food and a great beer selection for such a small place. The staff is very friendly and the location is super cozy.
Awesome place! My son took me there to have a light and delicious lunch. Great taste and beautiful place under the parasol on the front yard. Kuddos for their salads and sandwiches and refreshments.
Great food, casual atmosphere....
This is such a cute space!!!! They basically took the concept of a convenience store and cleaned it up. Plenty of last minute items or gourmet grocery. Almost everything is from a local vendor! What a relief to not have to walk through a cloud of smoke or give someone spare change on my way in to grab a sandwich and a soda. Were so excited to watch them evolve!
Somethings becoming here, somethings happening. Pretty good stuff here. Best way to say, is its something sort of like Market on South or The District Market At Mills 50 but its its own thing; everythings like something else I suppose.Quite a nice little venue. Theyve got coffees on order, small breakfast and lunch menu, and interesting foodstuffs for takeaway. As the shelves and refrigerators fill up with interesting things, Im sure foodie curious folks will enjoy.Walked over for breakfast with friends and we all were so happy we did. Sophisticated coffees with emphasis on local Florida foodie things and bits. A few confections.Top quality food with portions to share. Coffee was exemplary. Happy friendly employees. Not a good bit of space to loiter inside but decent enough biergarten seating outside. Pet friendly.Must go back.
A real gem for the neighborhood. Delicious food and wine, and a great place to meet up with neighbors. We took part of an impromptu wine tasting on our first visit.
