Went in for a suspected transmission issue, so made an appointment to have a trans service, and after testing my truck and talking with me, Mike made an honest call on what he thought the trans service would accomplish. Instead of charging me for work that wasnt necessary, directed me to a diagnostics place to learn the true meaning of why my trans was acting up. Instead of making a quick buck and charging me for unnecessary work, he was honest, professional, and upfront. My 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ started having serious issues with the transmission and I was faced with making a big decision with over 280K miles in. Everything else in the car had been fixed or replaced and with used car prices thru the roof I decided to consider holding onto it…plus it’s an XJ!I explored the junkyard tran route but it wasn’t as cheap as I thought with labor and the possibility of future issues. A new transmission was totally out of my range, and then I came across Central Florida Transmission Repair. The reviews were impressive and each one received a reply. I called and spoke to Mike and Steve. They both spoke from experience and I felt confident about having them take a look at it.When all was said and done I was looking at a rebuild. The pump and torque converter were shot and many parts and seals needed replacement. The price was extremely fair and not far off from what I was looking at with a used tran.The car feels great and I am very pleased with the overall service! I brought it back a week later after detecting a minor leak and they took care of it with no questions asked. Overall it is a solid and sound repair and the car feels super confident. I highly recommend Central Florida Transmission Repair for their professionalism and experience along with great quality and fair pricing. They breathed new life into my XJ.I would use them again for any other future needs.

Got a 1999 Lexus LS 400 that needed a silinoid replacement in the transmission. They wanted to rebuild the entire transmission for 2,400. Took it to another shop, they replaced the part needed for far less than a rebuild. The car runs great. Always get a second opinion.

When certain vehicles enter our facility, there is necessary extra time with the vehicle needed to determine the cause of the concern. This involves more in-depth research than a simple road test and code retrieval. Some transmission specialist shops will quote a repair after a road test and start quoting prices without truly understanding the cause of the problem, usually at the highest cost to the consumer. Our shop conducts whatever tests necessary to confirm the cause, which is why we frequently suggest repairs that are less expensive than the competition. Things like sensors and solenoids can cause a transmission to act poorly, which is often interpreted as the need to rebuild, both by a shop and the owner of the vehicle. The initial charge, and the extra time you were charged for were in place because your concern could have been simple or more involved. The second one suggested was for internally examining your transmission upon the conclusion the problem was internal. Almost all our diagnostic charges are waived if the repair work is performed, even though the additional time has been invested. We called you and left a message to speak with you, as we work diligently to ensure our customers understand the charges incurred and why they are justified. Please call our shop, so we can discuss the matter.

Let me start off by saying they are a great mechanic shop, they took my 1992 Mitsubishi eclipse in when no one else would. I had my problems with the car they were able to get it done in a timely manner and well worth the money. The customer service was amazing.

I have had 4 transmissions done for 4 different vehicles over the last three years. Gary and Mike have always been professional and fair with the information throughout the repairs. Our family still owns and drives each of the 4, a 2003 Civic, a 2003 Tahoe, 2002 Escape and a 1997 F150. I have also used CFT for other repairs and have always found them to be straight forward and fair about the options. I do recommend them to people who are in need of quality fair auto repair.

I went to get my transmission checked and at first it was a free diagnostic. I was called later that night to be told that to do a thorough check on my car transmission. There was a few communication issues but after talking to the general manager I am a much happier customer. He actually listened to what happened and was willing to help me out.

The experience with the staff and the service rendered is excellent but my vehicle had to be returned after two weeks because the transmission was completely rebuilt and the initial problem returned. My vehicle is in the shop for over a week and its costing me time and money since I have to come to work late and leave early to take my wife back and fort to work and home and I cannot work enough hours to get my work done to ship to my customer. However, I have no doubt that they will not make it right.ThanksBob

My vehicle broke down had it towed in to the shop and explain to the manger on the situation with the vehicle, also explain to them that this was my only vehicle and I needed it back ASAP. Great experience, I was referred to this shop from my mechanic up north. Back home I had my transmission rebuilt by my regular mechanic, and it started slipping north of Orlando. These guys worked with the shop back home and got me taken care of quickly and professionally. Made it back home with no problems. They also got my AC blowing cold again and it cost under $100.

I shopped all over Florida for a reputable transmission shop and was directed to Central Florida Transmission by several mechanic shops. The mechanics I knew had recommended them due to their ethics. The shop stands behind all their builds / repairs. The specifics of my situation are as follows: I had a 4L60E transmission built from scratch for a custom Jeep project. They built the transmission very quickly and gave me a fair deal. I then proceeded to install the transmission wrong and damage the transmission.That brings me to why I want to write this review and give 5Stars ASAP. I was definitely treated like a person and not just the next dollar. After hearing me out on what I did wrong and coaching me on how to do it rt next time, the shop repaired my mistake for a fraction of what it typically would have cost me. Being that this was a custom build I have had several questions since and they turned out to be mostly not transmission related. The guys at the shop (Jim specifically) took the time to answer my questions and continues to return my phone calls currently. Im an annoying customer with way to many questions but they still seem to make time for me.I can assume for a more standard transmission repair they would be a simple in and out the door solution so if your car or truck is slipping / leaking / making weird noises / or just needs servicing I highly recommend them. Very impressive!

Today now make the 3rd day I have had my car back out of the shop. On Friday, September 15, 2017, I got my car back after it had sat there for 6 months. Central Florida Transmission rebuilt my transmission. We know that transmissions are expensive regardless to which avenue you take.Gary was able to workout an installment plan with me which is something they normally do not do because of customers burning them in the pass. After I spoke with him about my then situation and that I was the only income in my household and my car was the only vehicle in the household he then agreed to an installment plan. I was making timely payments until I lost my job with Prince Contracting. Therefore I was not able to make any payments. During that time they never got nasty with me or threaten me to impound my car. Great service and people. I was out of town and needed some help with a special project, Sean stopped his work and helped me immensely. This shop went above and beyond, higher recommended.

Theres 3 things I look for and value in a company. Which are- Customer Service, Integrity and a Good Service. Everyone including the Sales and Finance Representatives, Mechanics and the manager Gary were extremely nice and helpful throughout the whole process. My only issue was my Sales (Auto Rep). He did not thoroughly explain everything throughout the process of my car getting fix which cause a whole lot of confusion at the end. I did have to get a manger involve. My only advice for future customers is to ask A LOT OF QUESTIONS! Document every conversation you have with a Representative. Lastly, make sure you thoroughly and fully understand what is being done to your car before you consent to do any repairs.

They rebuilt the transmission in my pilot and did other repairs at the same time. My pilot is driving great, better than brand new!! I was treated with respect and it was the only transmission shop I went to that gave me a very decent price! I definitely would recommend going there for any of your car problems.

We have done 7 transmission rebuilds with these guys and they are yet to let us down. Nice warranty, extremely quick turn around time. Price is always fantastic. We are thankful to have quality people to be able to service our vehicles with, we sell 300-400 cars a year and need to have happy customers. Only wish we had met these guys sooner. I Waited 4 hours and had 2 diagnostics costing $100 to not have an answer. They then wanted to do another diagnostic for $300!! They still said that wouldnt guarantee and answer. After cashing out they had these extra bs fees on my diagnostic making it over $100!! I called them out on it and left. Would Not Recommend...

I am very happy I decided to take my 95 Impala SS to this shop. Id been having major tranny issues shortly after I bought the car so I took it to a few transmission places hoping to get it an accurate diagnosis ASAP. No shop I took it to was able to figure out what the problem was; until I took it here! To my surprise the repair was a fraction of what I thought it might end up being. The staff was great and their waiting area is comfortable...Shops like these are pretty rare IMO

My mechanic suggested that I take my Ford Explorer to Central Florida Transmission when I started having transmission problems. Ive always been skeptical of transmission shops, but he assured me that theyre reputable and professional. I headed over and was greeted by Jim, and he said hed take a look at it right away. The shop was clean and organized, and Jim and Sharon were both very courteous and professional. After running diagnostics, Jim told me that I needed to have the transmission rebuilt, and gave me the total cost and a timeframe of one week, and explained the warranty. He called me 5 days later - 2 days ahead of schedule - to tell me that the Explorer was ready, and the cost was exactly what he had quoted, no surprises. The Explorer now shifts exactly the same as when it was brand new.Ill recommend Central Florida Transmission to my friends and co-workers; Im very pleased with the service that I received.

I was referred to Chris at Central Fl Transmission by a family member. The transmission business locally has a bit of a bad reputation due to the number of dishonest shops and so I wasnt going to just drop my car off at any place. Although I was not happy with having to replace my transmission, I was happy with the service I received from Central Fl Transmission. It has only been 2 days since the transmission was replaced, but so far everything seems to be running very well. The turnaround time was only 2 working days, and would have been quicker if it werent for a wrong part being delivered. From the start, I was told everything up front and no one ever pressured me to get any additional service or buy anything I didnt need. Thanks for being one of the good shops.

Went to three different shops try to get a repair done on my vehicle nobody could figure out whats wrong everybody was giving me a price quote of over $500. Went to Central Florida Transmissions they found out what was wrong the first time I paid $250.00 for the repair and I was out the door really quick good service couldnt beat it. I will never go anywhere else only Central Florida Transmission Repair.

Mediocre. I wont go back. Have been here twice now and feel like all over gotten accomplished was getting new windshield wipers on after the car sitting there for entire days at a time and it hardly touched until the end of the day saying it had to be brought back and checked and taken apart. No amount of time estimated or amount I would be charged even once the car would of been halfway done. I have a life and things to do. I dont have time for that. If they cant manage their time and customers properly... not for me.

I was referred to this shop by my neighbor who had his transmission rebuilt there about a year ago. He said they did a great job and they are trustworthy. I called and spoke to Jim and we chatted for several minutes about my transmission. I drive a Mercedes CLS so I get a little nervous taking my car to aftermarket shops. Jim assured me they could rebuild the transmission if thats what it needed. So I dropped it off the next day. It did need rebuilding and they did it for several thousand dollars less than the dealer. Jim and his crew were all very professional and friendly, they kept me updated throughout the process and most importantly…the transmission shifts like its new again! Fair pricing but in my experience the rebuilt transmission failed... twice. It actually tore up my starter and I had to replace.then when the car broke down, they would not pay for towing even though it was directly caused by faulty work. I will recommend this place however get AAA incase the work fails..

I have been working on a classic 1970 Chevelle for a few years now. I initially had Jim and the guys at Central Florida Transmission build me a custom transmission that can handle the power of a built big block. I was very happy with the work they did and since then they have been my go to for any upgrades or repairs I need done. They have since installed a custom Hurst shifter, full pro-touring suspension including swapping from old drum brakes to power brakes. They rebuilt, restored and installed a 12 bolt rear end. Installed a full digital gauge cluster in the car as well. These guys do it all. They also repaired screwups from previous well known local shops. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!!!

This place is WWWWAAAAYYYY better than aamco. I know because aamco has screwed me over twice. This place fixed my problem and the transmission now shifts like they day I bought the truck new. Was unemployed when my truck started having problems so I decided to try wait until I got a new job. After about a week of trouble, she gave out on me on my way home.A friend referred me to Jim.
