Never recommend! I paid $600 for an alarm system and radio. The first cheap radio burned out in two weeks, it was replaced by the same one, and the second radio burned out again, the alarm has to be given 6 times to open the doors. I was the worst paying job. We went to the store for good reviews but do not get carried away by them because I was deluded.

Shawn is really good at what he does... I got exactly what I was looking for and no up-sell... he is an independent owner and I believe in supporting that... his rates are fair and results were above expectation for a private shop... it was my first experience there so I cant say this is the best be all/end all shop out there but Id send my friends there and Ill definitely go see him again... (simple 2din Pioneer install and front window tint in my 10 Expedition.. about 1 1/2 hr. on a Saturday)

Couldnt be happier. Shawns professionalism, skill/knowledge, honesty, fairness and timeliness are all well above standard. Went for an all around overhaul of the audio system in my tahoe and he delivered above and beyond what I asked of him. Some of the little details even look better than they did when I showed up. Answered questions I had about some interior work and my remote start that I screwed up myself and even took the time to go through and teach me all about the new head unit/app functions. Went around Orlando on my day off searching for a local audio shop that would be willing to work on my car and install products I had purchased. I found Shawn’s shop Ground Level on google maps and decided to give it a shot based on his reviews here. I showed up and was pleased with Shawn’s attitude, knowledge and professionalism. I hung around the shop with him and ended up leaving buying two more speakers and installed in a very quick fashion. I was up in the air about going to this shop over Best Buy to get my audio system installed and I am so glad I went here. They do amazing work and are very affordable. Shawn is the best installer Ive met! I had taken my last vehicle to Audio Excellence several times and was never totally happy with their work. With my new car though, I looked to Google reviews and thats where I found Ground Level Customs! Thank God! I had a receiver, four speakers, sub/amp, and a hard-wire for my radar detector put in...everything was perfect! Ill be a repeat customer for sure!

I love this place. You cant always trust car mechanics, but I was treated awesome here. They explained everything to me so that I understood what I needed for my car audio installation. They put an amp kit and a bass box in my car and explained all the parts that I needed, and had the best price. I called a lot of places, and the others were more expensive and not very nice. Rick was extremely polite and helpful. I will be going back soon for window tinting.

Shawn is awesome! Ive used him twice now to help out with the audio in my car. The first time, I had him install an aux hookup for my phone to my stock stereo...he had it done super quick and was very reasonably priced. The most recent time, I got fed up with having a cable running from my phone and decided I wanted bluetooth instead for the audio. I called him up and he found the part I needed. I was able to drive over (with less than 1 hour notice, mind you) and he took my car back and had it completely done in about 15 minutes! Unbelievably fast, fair priced and a great customer service experience. Hes a good guy and I would highly recommend him and his business to others.

Shawn of ground level customs has been working on my SUV for over 14 years. If you are looking for quality work, honest treatment and professional service you cant beat what Shawn offers. His work on my SUV includes window tint, Alarm, custom stereo installation and most recently I decided to upgrade my navigation and install a backup camera. Shawn did a great job of removing all the bulky preexisting wiring rather than just leaving it. He was also able to program new alarm remotes as my original one stopped functioning. I had my iPod input aux input adapter installed here and it is great. Shawn told me his adapter worked without static, and I was skeptical at first, because I had purchased one from best buy and it had static. He was right, though, my stereo sounds great with no static. And his adapter is cheaper than the one at best buy.I also had my window tint done here and it looks great.The customer service is wonderful here, also. Shawn actually cares about what you came in for. Other places. I was just a number. They have a great waiting room for kids to. Shawn set us up with movies for my kids to watch while we waited, and had a very comfortable air conditioned waiting room.Thanks for great service.

Shawn did the window tinting on our church building 6 years ago, and the tint still looks beautiful today. We really enjoy the comfort and energy savings that we have gotten in the past 6 years. What a great experience I had here at Ground Level Customs with Shawn. This was my first major upgrade Ive done to my 2013 Toyota Corolla S, upgrade the stock audio system with Rockford Fosgates. Being my first major upgrade, I researched shop after shop within the Orlando area hoping to find someone I could trust with great prices seemed like someone I could entrust my car to, Shawn was that person. Right off the bat on the phone, he provided excellent customer service and answered any questions that I had and gave me an exact quote for the audio upgrade. He worked quickly and did a clean job on the inside. He also cleaned up my loose connections to my subwoofer and actually made it sound better with the new audio speakers I had put in.Long story short, great customer service, good and clean job, hes honest and has integrity, and isnt your typical salesman. I will be doing more business with him in the future and already have another vehicle lined up for him to do a job on. If youre thinking about going here, dont hesitate!

I needed a new radio in my car, and rather than go to a big store where I buy the radio and the installation separate, I decided to go local to Ground Level where they offer free installation including all the necessary parts and labor.I was in and out in less than 30 minutes with my new radio. I came back the next day for more work on my audio system, installing additional speakers. All in all, I know I saved considerable time and money versus a big box store.I will be doing business with Shawn at Ground Level Customs again in the future.

Just be careful, he probably does not know latest models that well.NEED MORE DETAILS?Brought my car in for a viper alarm installation and was installed OK for the most part except my car windows would not lower because the modules and computer unit that controls it were burned while Shawn was installing the alarm.I had a really bad experience, plus ended up with no alarm at the end because his suggestion was, let me put everything like it was never touched and take it to the dealer so they can fix it. He did try to fix it and I have to give him credit for it but what is 3 hours of his work compared to the damages, not to mention the money I paid out-of-pocket, the rental car I had to get, and others expenses related to my car being at the dealership for a week. Hate to do this review, but the truth will always be the truth and other prospective clients deserve to know my experience.

Did a great job installing a car alarm on my Ford Fusion.

I was having problems with the alarm system in my car. I called a few other car audio shops and they werent helpful. Shawn gave me a lot of information over the phone, and when I got there he removed the alarm system quickly. He knows what hes doing.

Shawn installed new speakers and a sub for me about 3 years ago. I wasnt satisfied with how it sounded but decided to just go with it out of frustration ignoring that he damaged some of my car interior during the process. Since then everything hes installed has stopped working. Hes a nice guy but if I could go back in time I would have just saved the $600 🤦🏼‍♂️

Shawn does absolutely excellent work.He installed my Viper alarm system years ago, and worked great.Recently i came to him for a taillight tint. He worked really hard, and even with the taillights awkward design (focus st), got it done. However, as with vinyl, you have cases where the edges crack, ripple or bubble. Shawn worked with me tirelessly to fix it but in the end it was better for both of us to remove it, which shawned offered with a full refund. Eventually i accepted.Regardless of this, Shawn was polite and cooperative throughout.I came back and had him install my dash cam for an awesome price. Was an awesome intall.Definitely deserves 5 stars for just customer service alone. Electrical work is top notch.

I just want to say in this world there are great customers and the once you will never please. I just ran into Shawn after about 14+ years. When I first met him he was working for someone else. He took care of my 3000gt that I put a head unit on and could not figure out why it wouldnt work. After Shawn hooked me up I was up and going with no problems. I tell ya I wasnt really an amateur at installs but Shawns knowledge level is pro. Now after all these years I took my fathers car to install a keyless entry alarm system and he has done a great job again. Look at all these reviews its 5stars or 1star. Not much in between, so think about what Ive said SOME PEOPLE YOU CAN NEVER SATISFY. Even if you give them a Lamborghini or Ferrari you can guarantee they will find something to complain about. Just take the 5 stars and the 2stars above reviews. Because at 1star you can tell they are just hard to work with people or cheap or had bad experiences(but not so likely on experience). Remember you are paying for his knowledge not the product. If you want the product go buy bestbuy or some online store. But if you need professional installation come here. Family owned business, we need to support small business like this. As Americans this is what we do help out our neighbors. I had my speakers installed here and an alarm system installation. Best car audio experience ever. I have been many places and I had such a great experience here. Shawn took his time to explain all the details to me, even though he wad busy, and I felt really comfortable having my Mercedes worked on by him.After the install was done, my speakers sounded great, and Rick went through a demonstration of how my alarm worked.Still, 1 month later, everything is working perfectly. Dont waiste your time with those other, sometimes bigger shops, where u r just a #.

Shawn is the real deal! I had to have my damaged windshield replaced by a nationally known windshield repair and replacement company (paid by my auto insurance with no charge to me). During the removal of my old windshield the technician cut my car alarm antenna wire. The national windshield repair and replacement company, after numerous calls from me, has failed to return my phone calls. I contacted a local well known car audio and alarm company and was quoted a repair cost of almost $150 that included two hours of labor. I did some searching and found Shawn. I called him late Saturday afternoon and he stayed open to look at the damage to my alarm wiring. The car alarm is a popular one (Python/Viper) and Shawn had the replacement antenna wire in stock and had it installed in less than 20 minutes (including removing and reinstalling several pieces of door and dashboard trim). His charge was less than 1/4 of what the other company had quoted me. Ill be taking my wifes newer car to Shawn for installation of an aux input device for her high end car audio system. Thanks Shawn!

Shawn went above and beyond. My car was stuck in the driveway blocking my other car in the garage. The car alarm was malfunctioning and the lock smith did not know what to do. Shawn was the only car alarm shop in Orlando that would come to my house and fix the problem. I was so happy with his work that I plan to have him install an aftermarket car stereo now. I called this business to see if he can add an alarm to my BMW. Speaking to this guy on the phone. He spoke of his degrees and experience but then continued to say that he would give me a alarm price for a Honda rather than a BMW that I have, but that there may me addons because they are different cars. Great way to discourage me, someone with security experience. He said that he would prefer not to do business with me because I sound like a difficult customer, simply because I questioned him on his so called knowledge. If he has done so many of these vehicles, should already kinda know an about price range or about how long it will take. I dont want to do business. With anyone preparing me to get ripped off at the end of the day because he says it took longer than he thought. He may be good at what he does but, I sure will never find out. Ask questions before anyone touches your vehicle. Owe and he said hes the best around. Lol. Good luck buddy.

In 2011 I spent well over a thousand dollars on having Shawn install a new head unit, amp, 6 speakers, and a sub box. Over the next couple months I had to come back several times because the amp was blowing the fuse. They eventually replaced the amp fuse with a resettable type (why didn’t they do this to begin with?) During one of these trips, I paid them several hundred dollars to put some dynamat in the trunk area because the subs were making nasty rattling noises. Before the year was up, my Clarion NX501 head unit broke. Fortunately it was under warranty and so Shawn swapped it out at no charge. After the next summer, one of the dynamat pieces came off. I decided to ignore it. By 2014, all the wire connections to the main front speakers had corroded and they all quit working. I had to go back and Shawn replaced the connections at no cost. This past summer, another piece of dynamat fell down and I started hearing rattling again. I went back to the shop and Shawn remounted the two fallen pieces of dynamat at no charge. A few weeks ago the Clarion NX501 head unit died again, and this time Shawn said it was out of warranty and he could not help me other than giving me a labor discount if I wanted to pay to have a new unit installed. I decided against this because I had sunk enough money into this car audio project at this point. I had spent almost $2000 on trying to get a quality audio system and felt like I got burned and wished I would have just kept the factory system which was at least decent. A week ago, I went back to the shop because the rattling was still there, and I discovered that it wasn’t the dynamat that had fallen that was causing it, it was both speakers in the rear deck were blown! Shawn said they were out of warranty and couldn’t help me. I explained to him how disappointed I was in how many times I had to show up at his shop over the past four years after spending so much money. He was unwilling to do anything other than offer me a discounted rate on replacing the speakers for $75. I left the shop very disappointed and decided to fix the problems myself. I bought a $100 head unit on Amazon and a pair of $40 speakers on Amazon. The stereo took me a couple hours to install, but the speakers took about 5 minutes and now my system sounds better than ever. For the most part, Shawn tried to fix things at no charge, but after so many failures I started to doubt the quality of the products he was using, and although I was willing to fix the head unit myself, I was disappointed he wanted to nickel and dime me for the $75 blown speakers. At some point as a business owner, even if something is technically out of warranty, if we are talking $75, he should make some effort considering all the problems I had with the system I paid almost $2,000 for. Instead, he now has a customer that feels like the whole experience was bad. I won’t be going back there. Unfortunately, I am left feeling like if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, and I had to go watch some YouTube videos and do the install myself.

This guy a rip-off charged me 320 for a radio a camera and I had my own supply’s including radio this went to another custom shop charged me 210 dollars avoid this place
