Great help, no attitude with questions about ammo. The young lady was helpful and informative. Huge difference from the Lacey stores young man in the Ammo section.

Refused to do bussiness without a mask, would not recommend spending money with companys that do not support our rights and freedoms, or that some people have medical conditions that prevent us from wareing a mask.

The gentleman working in the shoe department with the beard and mustache was awesome! Unfortunately I didnt catch his name, but he could train so many others in customer service. He was attentive, he listened to what I wanted, and he was friendly. Most of all he helped me find 2 pairs of shoes that feel super comfy on my feet. I have an extremely hard time finding shoes to fit right and feel good.Thank you shoeman! 😊

Cheep prices is good, they usually have what we need however the store manager unfortunately doesnt know gun laws yet he sells them. I wanted to legally purchase a shotgun for my son but the manager wouldnt sell it to me because I wasnt the end user however in Washington it is 100% legal for a father to purchase a gun for their child. After a rude exchange of words I went down the street to a reputable gun shop, told them of my experience, and was legally able to purchase the shotgun as a gift for my son. The store manager treated my like I was a criminal and tried to make me feel like purchasing my son a gun was a crime and shamed me in front of other customers. As a local and long time customer I was extremely disappointed 😞

Went in to look at shoes Wyatt point out the difference between brands clear and effectively found the size I needed and had me out the door in less then 5 min truly excellent service.

They have always taken care of me here. Just had an eyelet break on a new pair of shoes and they exchanged them glady with no problem.

The woman working the register was in her 50s, chubby and not covering her mouth or nose with her chin fully covered by a mask. Qhen I asked the manager, Duane, to tell her to properly wear it he said she had breathing issues. Hellooooo...theres a freaking pandemic. Have her working maskless in the back, dont expose the public. Moron! Also, she really doesnt represent athletes very well. Not cool. We left and went to the one over in Lacey.

I was happy with what they had in stock. However the service was terrible. First it seemed like everyone went on break at the same time leaving one kid by himself, second when I went to get shoes there was 3 other people already waiting for someone anyone to help them. I stood at the register forever while the manager just hung out and watched then when I bought my $500 kayak I had to stand around waiting for the employees discussing who was supposed to go on break instead of ringing me up.

Best place for kids sporting gear. Great prices and have what you need.

To be completely honest Ive only been in this store a handful of times. But every time Ive gone it was a nice experience and I always found what I was looking for.They have an excellent selection of sneakers and boots! Would recommend shopping here!

I bought a resistence band. It worked great. The girl at checkout was very nice. In and out in 5 minutes.

Has some basics for sporting based on season, team lead was a but rude to me when buying ammo. They have some ammo as compared to Cabelas, so check them out for that!

The manager, Duane, is completely rude and unprofessional. He refused to sell me a gun when I arrived over an hour before closing as instructed by the manager at the Lacey store (Lacey store was unanle to sell guns because of their codes not working). Do not give your business to this store.

Very rude, advised they would not help me due to face covering. Went to locate what i was lookong for and they were also sold out. i was shocked at both employees how i was treated.

Solid. Cool people, easy to talk to. I only go in for ammo and they have all the common modern calibers you expect (including 5.56 and 7.62x39) however they dont carry ammo for older military surplus (7.62x54r, .303 British, 8mm Mauser). Shotgun ammo is VERY expansive in gauge and load.Gun selection is small but, for the average Joe its all youll need (they do not carry handguns) What I like most about this place is its not intimidating like a traditional gun shop, its not pretentious and you can ask questions comfortably. Great for first time buyers

Nice store, a bit crowded but thats just because they cram a Lot of sporting goodness into a small location. The staff has always been super helpful when Ive had questions & greet me with a smile. Its like visiting a local sports store even though its a chain. Small town charm. Kudos on hiring a Great staff!

There was a mix up at the Redmond location regarding the discovery parks pass that we purchased, and we were going on a roadtrip, heading towards Olympia.I talked to the manager of the Olympia location on the phone and he was very helpful and knowledgeable which helped the frustrating situation we were in.We stopped by the Olympia location and the other manager that was on was aware that we were coming in and what the situation was, and he was also very nice. They turned our frustrating experience into a positive experience and we really appreciate the great customer service.

Big 5 is always solid, but wont have the largest selection. They sell Discover passes and the various WDFW licences, which is really nice.

I dont like giving bad reviews online, but after coming here a few times for clothing and fishing gear Im pretty disappointed. Overall the selection is small and the quality is low, but that isnt really unusual for Big 5 stores. Most employees are friendly enough, however, Ive wasted time multiple visits when I was directed to the wrong area or told they have brands or items that they do not carry. My last visit the manager (I think) was pretty apathetic when I asked him where something was. I bought a fishing license and the cashier was polite, but they were out of vehicle passes (usually included and necessary to park at many DNR/state land locations) and didnt provide a plastic cover for the license, whick means I was left with all these pieces of paper to shove in my wallet. Normally sporting goods stores or even Walmart automatically offer a cover. Im not that upset with the service, but I want to warn people that this place is kind of a wasted trip unless you cant make the trip to Cabelas. I hope someone opens a decent independently owned sporting goods store/workwear store on the Westside because until then Im making the drive to a better retailer and would recommend anyone else does the same.

Had some mixed reviews on my overall experience at the Big 5 Sporting Goods Store in Olympia, WA. Was looking for a running for myself and basketball shoes for my cousin. The young lady who helped me out picking the right shoe was very helpful. Was able to get the right running shoes for me. Unfortunately, they did not have the shoe size for the basketball shoes I was looking for. The real surprising experience came when I was paying for my purchase. The lady who took my payment only asked me for my zip code and that was it. No thank you or nothing... So sad. I think they need to review their customer service manual...

Cheap shoes and boots. Not everything is a great price, but have plenty of sports stuff particularly for your child. Boots and shoes for $21 each. Im happy even if they only last a year

I have lived in West Olympia off and on for 20 years, and every time I go into this store, the people who work there are the coolest people in the world, super nice and just chill, and always have the answer if you have a question.

I must say that the manager at the store as well as the rest of the staff are incredibly helpful and very up to speed on the range of products available. Kudos to the crew at the Big 5 Olympia store.

Love Big 5! As a for this specific location..... I normally get my shoes at Big 5, so you need a employee to assist in getting them from the back. I have been shopping at this location 5 plus years and get the same service every single time. But finding someone to help you is frustrating because I normally cant locate anyone and have to ask the cashier for assistance where there is usually a 2nd person working next to them or behind the counter. So they ask or tell someone then they bicker momentarily about who will help me, then I ask for your size/style and its a 50/50 chance if they even have them in the 2 minutes they took to locate them, so I pick something diffrent then they come back and disappear so if I was in need of something else I cant ask, so I went home and ordered it online and had to wait days to receive something I actually needed that day in the store.

This is a small store, so it has a crowded feel. Big 5 has always had great deals on shoes. They have a varying wide selection on sale at all times. From what I saw the prices here are more competitive than they have been in past years.

Great service went for sleeping bags and they didnt have enough of the one I wanted so they replaced them with another bag that was compatible for the same price of the one on sale i wanted.

I purchased a tent and sleeping bag last week. Went camping. The tent filled with three inches of water and soaked everything. I was stuck on a mountain freezing and wet for two days. Not impressed in the slightest.

Big 5 has alot of merchandise packed into a small store. But they usually have what I am looking for in a variety of sizes and colors. Also like the $10 coupons.

I showed up at Big 5 on a deadline. My daughter had a synchronized swimming show in an hour and couldnt find her goggles. The staff helped me figure out exactly what I needed to get her, and got me checked out quickly.
