Brought my bike in to have a tire replaced, then scheduled for a tune-up for the next week while I was there. When I got home with my bike I noticed that they had removed my lights and reflector. Went back into the store and they claimed they did not have them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept the scheduled time for the tune-up, but that should have been my cue to go somewhere else.I show up with my bike immediately after work on the scheduled date. They act like they had no idea I was coming, and when I point out I had reserved that day with them last week they tell me I needed to come in before 11 AM. I explained that they did not tell me this when I booked with them, or I would have scheduled for a different day when I wasnt working. The owners (I think?) response was, I have been doing this for over four years and it would be really weird for me to have not told you that.I can understand missing parts and scheduling issues, but the gaslighting about these mistakes made this easily the worst experience Ive ever had with a bike shop. I gave them more chances than they deserved. Pretty much anywhere else is going to be a better option.

Had my front derailleur worked on whole bike packing around the Olympic Park. It became apparent in the first few seconds the mechanic had no idea what he was doing. 2 hours later I’m riding away on a bike that won’t shift. Went to Trek and I was good to go in 5 minutes. The Old Town Mechanic is the exact reason people hate bike shops, bad service with a worse attitude.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience at OTB. I took my wife down to the shop to get her an e-bike. The shop was recommended by a good friend. My wife hadnt been on a bike for a long time. We were hoping they could put her on one to try out. They got one out and told her to try it out in the shop in the narrow alley between bike racks and shop furniture where she promptly crashed into the rack of bikes, hitting her head and breaking her glasses. Fortunately no broken bones. I untangled things dreading the worst as we are in our 60s. I wouldnt be writing this but we didnt even get an apology then or later. What with bikes flying off the shelfs these folks seem to think its a sellers market. Needless to say we wont be getting a bike there.

I went into this shop to have my brakes adjusted. They did not want to work on it because there was less than an hour left in the day. I was able to talk them into doing just one of them. It took about 10 minutes. They could have easily done both front and rear.

I took my bike in a few months ago for a tune up which I thought went well but after looking through my bike I see that things werent done to the quality I thought I paid for. Some fasteners were loose (specifically on the pedals) and I thought I would be told what they thought of the condition of the bike was but I wasnt. All in all that wasnt a bad experience, just expensive.Fast forward a month or so and I had a spoke snap on me. I have no idea how to replace this or true a wheel so I took it in to them. I thought it waa a bit odd that no one told me a price but after researching I didnt think there would be anyway it would be more than $30. It came out to $50! Not only that but I received back wheel with a bent valve stem and the wheel isnt even true, it was a wobble to it.I wont be taking my bikes here for maintenance anymore, the quality of work doesnt seem worth it to me.

My wife and I were looking to get our twins bikes for Christmas. We decided to check out Old Town Bicycle and see what they had in stock. Not only did they have two available at a different location, they shipped them to the store free of charge, pumped up the tires, and ensured everything was in working order. The entire staff was very polite, professional and fun to work with. I recommend them to everyone who is in need of bicycles or gear. Thank you for all you do!

I love this place! I havent purchased any bikes or bike gear here, but Ive used them for bike repair services twice, and I will continue to use them when I need to get something fixed on my bike. They have great hours (theyre open every day), and they work quickly. My bike had an unfortunate back tire, and I got two flats in a row. The first time, I got the inner tube changed, and the second time I decided to just get a new tire. But they worked on my bike right away both times, and I didnt have to wait long at all. (I use my bike nearly every day, so its great to not have to worry about being without it for a day or longer..) While I was waiting, the people working there were all friendly and helpful. No one tried to sell me extra things or convince me to buy fancier tires than I needed. They gave advice based on what I needed for how I use my bike, which I really appreciated. The prices for service are also very reasonable!

My front tire keeps finding so I went to this bike shop to see if theyd let me use the pliers for 2 seconds they said they dont have any players on the premises asparagus that you just dont want to help out a a customer so I definitely dont recommend this bike shop the one thats on the westside of Olympia way better customer service and they would let you use your pliers for 2 seconds while you try to unbind your tire. Now I have to carry my bike 5 miles until I can find another bike shop. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP YOU WILL BE SORRY.

I had the most amazing experience at Old Town Bicycle in Olympia.Having shipped my touring bike to Olympia and reassembled it myself, I wanted a professional to inspect it before I began my tour.A young man named Mike greeted me at the door and hearing my request he promptly put my bike on a stand and proceeded to give it a mini-tune-up for at least 30 minutes. He was extremely professional, thorough, and friendly - explaining each thing he was doing. When I asked what I owed for all this service, he just smiled and said well, you could write a review.I recommend Old Town Bicycle without reservation.

Love Country Music Sunday at Old Town! Only place in downtown Olympia that you go into and listen (unabashed) while browsing tools and parts. 95% of the reason I go in exclusively on Sundays: country music. The staff there have also been willing to help me learn more about my own bikes maintenance. I truly appreciate an experience where mechanisms and effects are explained to me instead of glossed over. I am treated professionally; the mechanics know that I dont want to take their advice at face value, but instead want to be involved in my bikes maintenance. Always a joy!

Screw this place. All I needed was my chain put back on after it popped off somehow riding downtown and I dont constantly carry a 15mm wrench around, buuuuut no, the response I get is We dont lend out tools and we expect people to pay $15 just to put a chain back on. Didnt even see a 15mm wrench for sale even. Its a small wonder why there were no other customers in your shop with service like that.🖕The next shop I went to put it back on for free without question, suggested a good portable wrench/multi-tool and was exponentially more helpful.

We had heard good things about this store from our neighbors but when we went there, we were not impressed. The girl that was helping us was condescending and rude. She also had her own agenda of trying to up-sell us from a rear child seat to a trailer after I told her multiple times that we didnt have the space to store a trailer and we didnt want to spend that much. She went on to say but they are so much safer to which I responded that I had a friend who had a trailer and was riding on a gravel trail and the trailer actually caused him to flip his bike when he hit a rough washboard spot on the trail and then his little boy was terrified to ride for months after that. She said well he probably bought a cheap knockoff or something because they are designed to not do that so you should probably not run around telling your friends that his trailer flipped. So I thought that was extremely rude. When she FINALLY gave up on trying to get us to buy a trailer, she said that they dont carry the child seats in the store and that if we wanted to order one, it would be 7-10 days........and at the end of our visit she said, well let us know if you want to order one, and by the way, you will have to pay for it before we can order. REALLY?! I thought I could get it for free......a-hole! I am all about supporting small local business over big companies like REI when I can but I will NEVER go back to that store.

I purchased a road bike from Old Town Bicycle in Olympia several months ago after checking out most of the bike shops in the area. Old Town Bike and one other shop in the area were the only shops I would consider giving my money to. Unlike the other shops, at old town bike, I wasnt ignored, dismissed, or scoffed at because i wanted a cheaper bike thats actually within my budget. I looked at 10+ bikes at different stores, and finally test rode one here and loved it. The salesman offered to bring in other bikes just to make sure I was happy, but i knew this was my bike! Purchasing the new bike was hassle free, enjoyable, and I learned a lot just in the first visit. What keeps me coming back again and again is the staff. Ive considered several unneeded purchases due to my inexperience. Instead of happily making a buck, the shop clearly strives for satisfaction unlike a vast majority of shops(bike related or not) that ive been to. Also, when considering a purchase that I actually need, like going to clipless pedals, the knowledge, experience, and advice clearly show that each member of the staff not only loves this sport/hobby, but they make it their mission to ensure that anyone interested gets the most pleasure as possible while riding. Well guys, mission accomplished! keep up the GREAT work! All in all, because of the dedication to the customer, wonderful staff, and great products, Old Town Bike has made me a loyal customer. I havent spent a dime at other shops since buying my bike, and I cant help but enjoy spending my money here, yet ironically, they also have saved me a lot of money!
