Best cupcakes I ever had and they were so well put together & tasted gooood! I believe I purchased the regular size cupcakes. Definitely recommend sizing down for kids party! Kids only ate half cupcakes.

We walked in at the end of the day knowing they wouldn’t have a lot of flavors left. We were able to try some we wouldn’t normally have purchased. We were not disappointed. They were delicious. Cupcakes aren’t my favorite dessert but I may be converted.

Im a regular here and have never been steered wrong. The cupcakes are top notch, the frosting is excellent, and there are many varieties to choose from. Everything is absolutely decadent. If you want something incredibly rich this is the place for you. Very few places can truly satisfy my cravings like Smallcakes does.

Came in on my birthday after seeing this on DoorDash all the time. I was really pleased with the experience, the young man that helped us was super friendly and even comped a cupcake for my birthday which I thought was really above and beyond. The cupcakes were great, we got chocolate on vanilla, chocoholic, and wedding cake. They had a lot of neat options like custom cakes and cookies, looking forward to exploring some of those in the future.

I was able to order a fully customized cake in only a few days ahead of time, at an amazing price, and it ended up being the BEST tasting cake I have ever had. Everyone at the party said the same thing. It was absolutely delicious. 5 stars, for sure.

Oh my goodness this place is amazing! We were going to go to the mall to get cupcakes at the Barnes & Noble Cafe but my kid fell asleep in my car so we got cupcakes on the go from this place but Ive never been there. It was my birthday and there were the most delicious cupcakes Ive ever had in my life. I got the caramel crunch the birthday 1 and the chocolate chocolate I believe. Lets just say my kid and I munch the heck out. Thank you for being so friendly and for a Thursday birthday it was the bomb! Definitely will come back.

Closed at 4:00p today (Saturday) even though website, Google maps and sign on the door all indicate they’re open until 8:00p.

I am giving 1 star because of the poor service we received twice. I tried to give it a chance but the second time was a bit too much for the amount of money you spend there. The cupcakes and cakes are good but with poor service it changes my appetite. We bought two cakes within 9 days. The first cake was $152.00 and when I ask about how to transport the cake Im told just drive like you have a cake in the car. The cake was really good so I thought they need to give these young workers some customer service training. The second time I bought a cake it was for my sons birthday. They made the wrong flavor which was a huge disappointment for everyone at the party as his favorite flavor is vanilla but we got a chocolate cake instead. I called to inform them of the mistake and was told We would like to offer you a gift certificate for 4 free cupcakes for the mistake. We paid for a cake, not 4 cupcakes, not even sure I can rationalize how they came up with only 4 cupcakes when we paid $52.00 for the cake. What I should have been told was we will remake the cake the way it was ordered. Also, the cake definitely did not taste like the first cake. Its like they bought it from HyVee/Price Chopper and put it in a Small Cakes box and gave it to me. I was very disappointed about the taste and wrong flavor mix up. Im so glad there are other options for cupcakes in the area. Professionalism and kindness matters!

My boyfriend surprised me with a birthday cake for my 26th birthday and it was SO BEAUTIFUL!! The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure that it would be everything I could want even though they hadn’t talked to ME personally as it was a surprise. They texted my boyfriend updated about it and answered all of his questions, they were so personable and committed, that they asked if he would send a picture of me with the cake. The skill and level of customer service that the Olathe store has is second to none! Bought 3 cupcakes.The one cake was for my dog. I am not sure what it was made of, had peanut butter frosting and a milk bone one top. Dog like liked it. It was placed in the box on top of my cupcakes.The second was the peanut butter cupcake. The chocolate cake was moist, and the frosting tasted like peanut butter without being too heavy. It was very good.The last was the caramel cupcake. The chocolate cake here was very dry. The frosting was not really frosting though, it was more like actual thick caramel on top. Which sounds good but it was so thick, gooey, sticky, and sweet I could barely eat it. It was toped with pretzel pieces that were very stale.

Let me tell you a story about why I will always come here for cupcakes.I was in the middle of a deep, solo project at my workplace. The kind of project that goes on for weeks and can be quite draining. I finally hit a stopping point, accomplishing a good deal of work. Unfortunately, this was paired with a disagreement with a co-worker (we eventually worked it out).Anyway, I promised to reward myself if I had gotten to certain stage and Small Cakes was on the way home. I figured, why not. I got in and ordered a Red Velvet (which was delicious). The woman handed it over and when I tried to pay she said, Oh, honey, you need this cupcake more than I need that $4.50. I held it together just long enough to get to the car.Kindness matters and small acts of it can have unknown consequences. What this company, this person, did for me is not something I look to forget. Thats why I keep coming back, because nothing tastes as good as customer service.Also, in an unrelated note, their cupcakes are amazing.

My wife and I walked in this store today and were not greeted which we brushed off because the employee was in the middle of a transaction. As we were going over the selection of cupcakes my wife noticed the flavor she wanted was sold out which was unfortunate because she was really craving cupcakes after a few minutes we had our selections and we moved toward the register because a family had came in behind us, at the same time the employee had just finished her transaction with the previous customer. As we were waiting to be greeted and for our order to be taken by the employee she completely skipped over us and started talking to the family that came in behind us. As we stood there in confusion hoping the employee would eventually recognized that we were standing there she mentions to the family that one of their selections is the last one in that flavor which happened to be one of the flavors we wanted, all while being ignored by the employee we just took that as the final straw and left as the invisible beings we were being treated as. Needless to say we NEVER visit this location again.

Love that they are now offering gluten free at this location but wish they had more flavor options and days for it. (Currently they only have gluten free offerings on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). However, they do offer some customization with advance order.

Ordered 8 dozen for a wedding reception and could not have been happier. Moist and delicious and looked very impressive. Everyone raved about them. Will definitely order again and recommend to friends and business associates! Thanks Small Cakes!

Let me just say oh my god, this was the best cupcake place I have ever been to. The zenith of the trip happened when the quirky girl behind the counter asked what cupcake I wanted and I said red velvet. And she politely said of course, anything else. The employees social skills and abstract way of cupcake baking made me enjoy the tapestry of humanity and really refelecy on my blessings. The paradigm between pleasure and requirement were very well spoken to me at my visit to small cakes. I will be returning very soon and this place gets a A double pulse that’s for suresys

When I walked in the bakery, I walked into the employee ranting on her personal cell about a customers complaint, it took her a couple minutes to get off the phone to service me. The cupcakes looks delicious but they tastes horribly OLD!!! I had a hard piece of cake or frosting.

Very disappointed in the service that we are receiving from a messed up order as though it was our fault! I have contacted the store twice and was told that I would get a call back by Wednesday sense the owner was out of town. It is now Friday and I reached the Manager Anatasia who took the initial order and stating the owner 9 out 10 wont do much about it because we were not charged for the additional $3 design/decoration that was done on the cupcakes and it wasnt much that could be done now. I ordered something specific with required payment up front and when we go to pick up the order the design was INCORRECT with a Birthday party starting in 2 hours! This is NOT ok nor professional especially being the first time using this company and to be treated as though my business nor concern is not important enough to get a call back from someone.

This small, inviting cupcake boutique seemed like a cute place to try. Their staff are friendly and the ordering experience was decent. However, their cupcakes really lacked in flavor and their coffee was terrible. For two cupcakes and two coffees it was more than $12. The coffees were from a Keurig machine, and werent good. The cupcakes were either bland or overpowering in flavor. Their Lavender-Lemon Cupcake was lemon-flavored cake with lavender-flavored icing. The icing itself was not bad in flavor/texture, but the lavender was entirely too overwhelming. The cupcake was the opposite, just a hint of lemon flavor in an otherwise perfect cupcake. Their Wedding Cupcake was vanilla-almond flavored, but all you could taste was vanilla and sugary icing, like really terrible icing. All I could taste was sugar. I think Ive had better vanilla cupcakes from the grocery store, and Ive paid a lot less than $12 for an entire box of grocery store cupcakes. Perhaps the flavors that I wanted to try werent the best cupcakes Smallcakes had to offer, but IMHO, if I wanted Keurig-coffee and simple cake flavors that I could make better at home, like Oreo, carrot-cake, or red-velvet, whats the point of going to a specialty cupcake store? Unless they have a deal for customers who are ordering in bulk, or theyre targeting yuppie parents who can afford overpriced average-quality treats for childrens birthday parties, where the children dont care what theyre eating as long as its sweet, this cake-boutique needs to up the ante in terms of flavor if they want to continue charging high-quality prices.

Great selection, but staff not the nicest. I had a Groupon but it didnt apply to this location and that was my fault but she seemed annoyed explaining that to me.

I dont believe they call themselves a bakery... we went in and got a cake for My daughters bday, the cake decoration was terrible the cake itself was terrible, i felt bad for my daughter it ruined her 3rd bday... spent 80 dollars on a cake, that i could have went to hyvee for a cake cheaper and better looking, wish I can upload a pic to show how terrible it was. I dont recommend this place to anyone! Bad experience all around.

Looked up the store hours on my phone, says they close at 8pm. I rush over and get there at 758, the employee is standing by the door with a bottle of windex. I pull the door, its locked. I knock, she yells, we are closed. I show her my phone saying its not 8pm. She walks away. I yell to her that I can pay with cash if needed. She does not turn around or acknowledge me. This was the final straw for me, I went a little further down 119th street to HyVee and got amazing designer cup cakes for cheaper than small cakes.Good: cupcakes taste goodCons: very expensive, no better than HyVee, employees are rude, store hours are not accurate.
