The park is getting better and better every time. It was just the park back in 2017 and now they have lots of events going on. Free yoga, volleyball games, concerts, night markets, boating, roller skating, food vendors and what not.The park offers great place for picnic too. It is also a great place for walk and run. The Skydance bridge is another highlight of the park. The park is getting extended beyond the bridge too. Its great to see the park getting developed over time.
It was great! Beautiful trails, flowers, water areas, etc. I would have definitely given the park a 5, but on my first visit from out of town I received a parking fine for going over less than 15 minutes. I paid for an hour, not knowing how long it would take to see everything. It was a weekday morning and there were no scheduled events. There were tons of open parking spots, but they gave me a $15 fine (an hour is only $2), at six minutes over. That is not very friendly!
We LOVE Scissortail Park and we are so proud of the beautiful work our community is putting into this park.We are proud members and would love for more families to support our local parks, Oklahoma is a beautiful state!Perfect park for a walk, picnic, family time, exploring, yummy food, you name it, they probably have it!Follow us on IG: @MaríAnto15 for more around the greatest state of Oklahoma 💞
Scissortail Park is a great place for the entire family. There is an amphitheater for concerts in the park, paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes on the pond. Many walking trails, splash pads for the kids with a large playground, too. It connects with Skydancer Bridge that extends out over I-40 right by the skating rink. Oh yeah, theres the roller skating rink that pumps out some pretty serious jams to skate to. Dont forget about the food trucks, too. Public Coffee is always there. I love Scissortail Park!
Very fun! We were going to rent paddle boats, but they were booked for 4 hours! Two of them were out of order. We still had fun, but it was a little disappointing. They have a fun splash pad and park. Very fun for a family activity. There are also several food trucks and snow cone stands. Overall, it was good.
Another place that Ive wanted to see up close. Beautiful place to bring the family and spend some time outside enjoying nature. The have a dog park for all your four legged babies. A park for the two legged babies. Roller skating, kayak rental, food trucks and conveniently for the alcohol lovers a bar right across the street. Definitely a place for everyone.
I LOVE taking my dog for walks here. Its nice and big with 2 little dog parks. Its awesome when the food trucks are out. Everytime I go I see they are adding more stuff like kids play areas and such. Definitely worth checking out if you are downtown:)
Scissortail Park is such a fun place to go! Especially when its cooler. Lots of space to run and play. Theres a playground, the splash pad our kids loved and its a pretty big space to play. There are so many other things to do, lots of flowers to ooh and ahh over, food trucks(Mm a coffee one too), paddleboats, walking over the bridge and more! The parking is a bit interesting especially if a busy day but they did a good job figuring it out for it being in the city. We parked on the other side of the park by the paddleboats and walked to get to the splash pad but you can pay for closer parking.Overall Id totally recommend..if you have littles, want to have a picnic, fly a little kite or just like to go on a walk in the evening, such pretty views of the city. We plan to go back soon when the weather is a bit cooler.
Its a beautiful park with some great events. I was working a booth at Scissortail Park for the Kite Expo in April and it was amazing! There was a lovely turnout, it was a beautiful day, and it was very safe. Check out kitekits.com for some wonderful and marvelous kites (it has a great selection for big groups and educators)!!
Scissortail Park is an amazing park, whether you are planning a picnic, taking a walk or attending an event this park is an amazing place for any of the above. It’s located in downtown OKC, but when you are in the park you forget you are downtown, especially if you are in the southern portion of the park. There are very few buildings surrounding the southern portion of the park and a lake, which makes this portion very peaceful and relaxing. If you sit or walk in the northern portion of the park, you can see the amazing backdrop of OKC. This park is a great place to visit for all, with plenty of activities and scenery.
I cant believe that Google Maps still doesnt show Scissortail Park in July 2021. The park is four years old as I write this and has completely transformed the center of the OKC skyline. The lake is a work of pure engineering genius, pumping in groundwater and treating it through a number of natural ponds to remove nitrogen and phosphorus. The resulting recreational body of water is impressive and full of life, surrounded by the many stages and hospitality venues adjacent to the Omni Hotel and OKC Convention Center. This is the best place for walk around sunset with views of nature, art, and the City skyscrapers.
Really nice place to get it and walk around and enjoy.
Scissortail Park is absolutely beautiful! Played the 9 hole pop up disc golf course today! Was a beautiful day! Loved seeing all the activity at the park! Check it out if you havent yet! You are missing out!
Its a nice park, its more for bigger kids so thats fun. There are no swings which is a bit of a bummer but otherwise very awesome area. Huge slide, lots of spiderweb climbing things. Splash area too.
Such an amazing adventure! Highly recommended if you havent been. Great walk around some great scenes.
Since the inaguration few years ago, we are going there for a run or walk almost every week. We love it, alghouth we enjoy more going when there is few people. All the plants and trees are groing so beautiful, and during the summer there are also frogs, hares, and gooses, so its plenty of live. Also, there is plenty of social activities like the farmer market on Saturdays (during the warmer seasons, I guess), skating rink, and a lot of other workshops (like diffent kinds of crafting) during the week days.
Beautiful Park!! The bees there though are over populated!!! Trash cans and swords of them!! It was hard to enjoy I was being attacked at every bench especially by the water!!
A fun and informative park full of beautiful plants, water parks, and the impressive Scissortail Bridge. Highly recommend!!!!!
These were taken at the end of the project, Such a beautiful spot and really captured the city and the painted skies!. Evening are the best!
Beautiful place to enjoy with or without your family... 😊 it even had paddle boats !!! Along with a skating rink, splash pad and so much more.
Love this park all times of the year! Live music, pop ups, ice skating, food trucks, art exhibits, dog park, play ground, I can go on and on! All kinds of year round events and holiday celebrations. Crowded warm nights of live tunes, great food, friends and shopping. Relaxing calm days with the dog, walking, sitting or meditating. Highly recommend for all ages all folks and their pets!
We go there to relax. They have paddle boats playground for kids. Food service trailers got a snow cones drinks and different foods to eat. We always enjoy going there
Beautiful! Great place to walk. The paths are very well maintained.
Love this park. Such a beautiful and fun place for the whole family.
Love the park! Would vote a million time over again for maps. I feel this is something great for Oklahoma City. I do have one suggestion/request. Can we see a Tesla supercharger in the down town area, possibly close to this or the brick town. I own two Tesla and would love to charge while visiting with family and friends. Otherwise great work Oklahoma!
Nice park. walks at night are nice 👌
Theres a sense of energy emanating from this beautiful park. With a loved one, friend or pet Its just gorgeous to be out with the sun ☀️ rays
Beautiful park with lots of scenery. Great fun for the whole family.
I love hanging out here. It opened in 2019. There is a second part of the park in construction and I am really exited about that. It’s a good place for kids and adults. You can take some wedding pictures here. During the night in Christmas the lightings are great. Highly recommend this place. Go and have fun with your family.
Beautiful!!!! love morning walks there something i did realize while out with the doggo we ran in to some trash in the bird. So we picked it up and thats when we realized I think k there should be more spots for trash. They say if there isnt trash bins every 200 feet people wont use them. Its a clean peaceful place to play run or just sit and read a book. Sucks there are people that just dont care for the things we are blessed with
Great place to walk around. Kids loved the play ground. Even with covid you felt safe and not crowded
Love this park! A real improvement for the city.
Awesome & Amazing!! We totally enjoyed it!! Beautiful and well maintained, children and pet friendly! A great family place to enjoy!!
This park is such a beautiful addition to the city. Its perfect for picnics, games, concerts and community events. Beautiful views and landscaping! My favorite park in the city!
The citizens of Oklahoma City have built a beautiful public space. The northern park is complete and a real gem in the city. The southern park (split by interstate 40) is under construction now. Im eager to see how the whole project completed!
Great place to tire the kids out. Plenty of playground activity too. Food trucks could accommodate any family. Or bring your own and have a picnic.
What a beautiful place!! one of my favorites parks in OKC to stop at any time of the day and have a great and peaceful experience🥰
I love so much walking around this park. The scenery is beautiful, I am especially fond of watching the ducks and turtles float by in the water. Despite being an event center and concert venue, the park is usually quiet and serene with picturesque views of downtown OKC. The newly improved Sky Dance Bridge is also such a notorious piece of public art. My only complaint is that it would be nice if the connection to the River Trail were a bit smoother, but that will be solved soon enough with the completion of the southern half.
Had a great time cant wait to do it again....okcpride 2021
Awesome park with a little something for everyone.
Loved it! The construction theyve been doing in bricktown has paid off. The walk to the bridge is beautiful at night. We ended up walking close to 3 miles because we were enjoying ourselves so much with all the views and new stuff.
Walked up on a powwow here yesterday! So cool!
Amazing park! One of the best parks Ive been to for sure. I cant recall what day we went on but they had a dj playing live for ppl to enjoy and just sit on the grass and look at the stars. Very well kept and clean and ppl are just out and enjoying themselves, super relaxing and overall great experience in oklahoma city ❤️
Very nice park... Kids had a blast!!
What a great spot for a stroll with the kiddos!
Its a park... but theres a splash pad (which is awesome), playground, and all kids of awesome things.
Hot in the summer--limited shade--but over the years this will turn into an incredibly shady oasis with lots to do. Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen. Landscaping throughout is top notch--lots of well-manicured touches. Hundreds of oaks planted for strong shading in the decades to come similar to Myriad gardens is now. Splash pad is awesome and large; playground is rough and tumble style with all kinds of fun features--your kid needs to be comfortable climbing around and bouldering with good balance; go in the early morning or later evening as the sun makes the playground surfaces very hot to touch. Evening concerts on the lawn are really laid back. If the city can keep up with it, in about 10 years this park will be one of the best spots in the city, if not the entire state.
Park is clean, seems policed well enough to keep criminals and drifters out. Great family atmosphere. Feels safe and Ive always had good visits here. Lots of dogs on leashes and Ive never seen any issues.
It was beautiful. Proud that it is in OKC!
Visited the park in the early morning. Plenty to see & walk around. Loved the landscaping and variety of trails to walk on. Highly recommend visiting. There’s also a trend of locks on this bridge. Nice find
Scissortail Park is a beautiful space in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Wonderful gardens as you’re strolling along walking paths adorned with lovely flowers and a variety of vegetation. The grounds crew does an excellent job maintaining the landscape. There’s a little something for all ages. Splash pad for children, outdoor roller rink & watercraft rentals available on the little lake. Perfect location to take photos & don’t forget walking over to the Skydance Bridge. This was my first visit to the park & I will definitely go back. The park hosts special events, concerts, pop up shops & even a farmers market. Overall it has a lot to offer for everyone. I was pleased with my experience here.
I really enjoyed this park. It was beautiful and well planned. It has numerous paths, sites, and attractions. I will return.
Beautiful day! Beautiful flowers! Birthday parties and even a wedding! 💒
Nice urban oasis with city views. Beautiful water features and plants. Several different walking paths and surfaces. Nice fenced playground for kids and a dog park.
Great day at Scissortail- flying kites, running and rolling down the hill, walking the trail and visiting the dog park. The childrens playground was top notch and we cant wait for paddle boats to return
I was enthusiastic about the opening of Scissortail Park, but each and every time we visit, the area seems to be facing a dramatic surge in the amount of homeless people that prey on unsuspecting citizens, not to mention we also witnessed a drug deal unfold before our eyes in broad daylight. Yes, in broad daylight. This is not a family-friendly environment. I hope that the city hires security services to monitor distasteful and potentially threatening activity. I no longer feel comfortable taking my family here.
It is a very beautiful park. Has lots of benches to sit and relax. And a big play ground for the kids. We went for the Cinco de Mayo celebration and it was great.
Just started going to Scissortail and so far I love it! Plenty of space to find a quiet spot to chill and enjoy the weather. I went to the OKC Pride event and although the weather had a rough start the amenities at the park we fantastic! Just came back from the farmers market and it was nice seeing so much fresh produce. I look forward to many more events there.
Great park, usually quite crowded when there is an event or festival.
Fantastic structures to plau on. Beautiful design. Spacious shaded areas. Kids loved it
It’s so cool to have such a nice park right here in our own city. The park is large enough for lots of people but you feel like it’s sort of empty wherever you’re currently at. There is something for everyone and every age. I love it.
This is such a BEAUTIFUL Park! People out just enjoying all the features. So glad I came!
Scissortail Park improves the entire atmosphere of downtown OKC. What once was a concrete jungle has been transformed into a world-class multi purpose park that blends a family friendly greenscape into the city, while allowing for additional commercial development potential. Good job OKC!
There is a website which will tell you the food trucks on location and their times for that day. 2 out of the 4 showed. Parking was free on Sunday. The paddle boat was $12 for 45 minutes. The fountains were a blast! We rode our bikes through them (possibly illegally). The playground is also very nice.Theres a relatively safe path to bricktown from the park as well. Cant recommend it enough!
I love this beautiful, scenic park! Its downtown, but carved into its own little niche. Its the perfect place to walk, picnic, workout, enjoy an outdoor concert, paddle boat, have a romantic date and take amazing pictures!💯
The park is beautiful, very well kept, and fun for everyone to enjoy. I highly recommend!
Cute! Great option on days the botanical play area is packed or really any laid back day. Nice play area and lots of seating for parents to watch their kids play. The play area has a small perimeter fence and clean restrooms a few feet away. Park attendants are very proactive and polite. Prepare yourself for the sand pits if you have little ones.Lots of paths, walk ways, and even photo ops around the area. For sure a place to go on a regular basis.
THIS PLACE IT AN EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER. There is a roller skating rink,a playground for kids, band and performers to watch, food and drinks stands, plenty of walk paths, and soooooooo much more. ♥️♥️♥️
This park has wonderful views of downtown and is well maintained and clean. I highly recommend showing up for sunrise sometime if you wanna capture nice pictures
Great park with lots of things to do.
Lovely place for a walk.
Beautiful park made from all recycled and refurbished materials. The best place to take a picture of the Oklahoma City skyline.
My family and I enjoyed this park. It was very relaxing open, lots of things to do, and overall just a great way to spend the night as a family.
Always love going here. The native plants are my personal favorite. We are adding a love lock to the bridge after our ceremony. Just wish there were more mature trees and/or shade
This park is beautiful, well layed out, and has a variety of layers and textures in its design.
Good chilly time tonight.
My daughter loved the playground. And the grounds were very clean and beautiful. The food trucks were delicious.
Beautiful flowers, great walking trails, enjoyable atmosphere
Great place to take the kids for a relaxing afternoon. You can take a paddle boat ride, play at a park or let them play in the splash area. There is also a field area you can picnic, read, or just enjoy the sky. Food trucks are always there and occasional bands. Lot for everyone.
It was nice, spacious and open. My first éxperment .
Nice Park for an evening stroll in Oklahoma City. People walk, run and bring their dogs here. Easily visible downtown high rises are highlight at this location. Well maintained
This is a great addition to the downtown area of OKC. It is a perfect place to take the family for lunch or walk on a nice day. There is a large grassy lawn that is the ideal place to rest on a blanket and gives an amazing view of the stage. I came out with some family and we played Frisbee on this lawn. If you were looking for a place to run or bike, this is the place. The park connects to the river district and gives lots of option for spring and summer activities.
Nice clean are with a pond for non motorized vehicles, walking/jogging path, dog park, eatery, with restrooms, and a small dog park. Live entertainment on the weekends. Very safe and clean. Fyi some of the parking is pay to park.
Great park. Great dog park for the pups! We went on a Thursday afternoon it was great!
One of my two favorite parks in Oklahoma City. Can’t say enough about the grounds, the events, and the experiences I have already had here in n a matter of a few months.
Great place to go with your small kids or even the person your in love with. Paddle boats are great and a good price. If I ever get someone that really loves me Ill have him take me back is beautiful
The two star rating isnt so much a rating for the park ( beautiful well kept) as it is for the farmers market as a whole. This farmers market is not designed for Middle income people. Is you the design for the very wealthy the prices are absorbitant or for or for people on food stamps (as they accept snap). For example the food budget for this week was $100. Spent $26 on some chicken and honey. 🙄
Lovely area, nice for an adult walk in the park.
So proud to see Oklahomans’ tax dollars at work in this way. This park has turned out so beautifully. It brings a real sense of community to the downtown area. I come here often!
This is a beautiful park set against the backdrop of downtown skyline. There is a fairly large playground that kids will spent hours at, and there are paths for walkers, joggers and cyclists. With close proximity to Bricktown and the river, visitors have access to both retail and outdoor therapy.
Really pretty and fun for the kids!
