The fries were over salted, the omelette was under seasoned and the Texas toast was more toast than Texas but was the food filling. Yes!This place don’t pretend to be what it’s not. It knows it’s a cheap locals diner and it sticks to that mantra. The food even though it seems like I’m complaining about it is overall solid. Yeah the beignet didn’t remind me of NOLA but it was decent with sauce. It’s not my favorite diner in okc but it’s not bad. It’s very reasonably priced and the food is quick. When I was there it was packed in the morning so a lot of people seem to really like this place.Overall I wouldn’t say it’s amazing but it met all my expectations for what I thought it’d be.. cheap diner food.
It’s very average, nothing is wrong with average. Just wish they did more from scratch stuff. The “home fries “ are obviously frozen seasoned potatoes. Gravy is powered. But good service and better than what’s around it.
The Classen grill is a classic diner. I have always loved their freshly squeezed orange juice. The eggs Benedict with cheese grits are my favorite. I wish they would care more for the building. Otherwise it is very good.
We love this place, especially the fresh OJ and the Memphis French Toast 😍😍
This place is bomb. I mean the good. If you do not care about the aesthetics of the place or ambience and care all about the food and service, this is the place to be. Benedicts are best in OKC.
I have to tell you. I read some reviews and decided to try this place. I got here and I thought I must be at the wrong building. But I definitely wasnt, as I turned the corner there was a beautiful mural on the side of the building with their name. I went inside and it kind of looked like run down diner. Not what I expected. But the service here is amazing. Ive been several times now and I am always greeted and seated quickly. I havent been at peak times and I still didnt have to wait more than a few minutes. Maybe I just got lucky the times I went, but I went at times between 10 am and 1pm on a Sunday morning. And was seated promptly. The breakfast menu is simple. 2 sides. A good selection of breakfast choices. But those actual choices are wild and amazing. There are some items on their menu I had never heard of combined before. And I have tried several of them. The food is fresh and has always come out perfect. Again, Ive only been 4 times I think, so take that as you will.Altogether, it is a little pricey, cough cough, I say pricey because you will definitely spend more here than at IHOP, but its not actually pricey for what you are getting. They actually fresh squeeze their Orange Juice! So, yes, it is worth what they are asking, so not pricey in that sense. I prefer small diners as opposed to large chains. Ive tried several others, see my review of Beverlys Pancake House. This place is the same, but different. Classen Grill has their own specialties that I really enjoy. Beverly and Classen, I need you to have a baby that serves both of your menus please. You should be in talks.Enjoy a great meal!
The staff was nice but it took our food a long time to come to our table.
Funky, upbeat murals and good atmosphere. Wait staff is experienced and attentive. Menu is creative and wonderful. Try the Salmon Eggs Benedict for breakfast.
The eggs was ok but the french toast and sausage patties i had too stole my heart and didnt give it back smh it was sooo good. The staff was friendly and then place was busy.
Great food. Large portions. Great waitress.
Great place service a bit slow but usually wearth the wait
Got the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was ok at best. Biscuit and gravy was good. Service was ok.
Same ol cozy diner for a very long time.
Classic breakfast food. Good.
The food was really good, I had the Steak & Fry, a chicken fried steak, hash browns, eggs, biscuit, gravy. We went for brunch. The cinnamon roll was also delicious. Its pretty cramped on the inside & the service could be better (she never took our drink order, but we were given water when we sat down).
Small town place. Good staff but they couldnt get my hashbrowns crispy.
Food, service, ambiance... AMAZING!
Great breakfast, good prices & wonderful waitstaff.
Good food and clean restaurant. Was looking for a quiet place to have lunch and catch up with a friend. This was perfect.
The food was really good the first time, the second time it was a little disappointing and the service wasn’t the best both times. the biscuits and gravy are really good! the roast however, is basically lunch meat.
Food was terrible. My fresh fruit was hot and melted.Won’t be back
Yummy food, great service!
Really good food and friendly staff
Got a Postmates order from here - the Chinook benedict. It was just okay. I had one egg hard boiled and another barely cooked, and the salmon patties were quite salty. Toast was burnt beyond recognition. I’ll give them another shot but I wasn’t impressed today.
I dont know about yall ...but I go to the restaurants for the food. you know, I go to restaurants to eat... place is not so bougie like so much downtown It feels right at home with the dive bars down the block... Got better mimosas than all those bougie places downtown too
Great place to eat some awesome food
Delicious! I loved the Crab Benedict. Soooo good.
Fresh squeezed orange juice is a must here! The food is good if you are looking for the diner experience and the service is great. Did someone seriously leave a review to complain about an orange seed making it into his freshly squeezed orange juice?? If you cannot handle fresh and what comes with it, maybe you were meant for the less than flavorful likes of minute maid orange juice, but if you appreciate the full flavors and taste of a fresh squeezed orange...omg, it doesnt get any better than here!
Good place for tasty breakfast. Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. It has a cool interior.
Its a great place
The food is amazing! The prices are great and the service us even better. Thank you!
My first time eating here. I will be going back. Food was delicious and service was great!
Ive loved this place for years. Now its even better. Go try it out. You wont be disappointed.
Best eggs Benedict in the world 🌎 😋
Fast friendly service excellent food! Even the toast was great!!
Disappointing food, uninspired and bland. Reviews are surprisingly high so maybe we just caught them on a bad day.
Food was warm not hot. Toast was burnt. Service was adequate but nothing special. I know theyre trying.
This is probably my favorite little diner in OKC. The food is always delicious and service is quick!
Food is always hot, delicious and out with a smile and great customer satisfaction!
Great food and service, definitely will be back for breakfast again .... And again
Amazing food and prices but could have better service and wish they stayed open later
Excellent service really good eggs Benedict
The only next day hangover breakfast place u wanna go broThe vibes are greats
Very attentive staff! Awesome breakfast!
Worst service I ever had.
Breakfast and the setting at this place is great. Super appetizing. This place has a great feel to it.
The best breakfast in Town!! Yummy Beignets!!
This was a surprise and the food was good.
Great breakfast place
My favorite spot for quality breakfast. Dropped in on Mon I think. Reminds me of a place in New York I liked to visit.
Always good breakfast food...service was really good too!
It was my first time here and it was exactly what I was looking for. A wonderful homemade style breakfast like you would expect at a mom and pop diner with a never-ending cup of coffee.
Great service and the food was delicious! I would recommend this place.
Fast service
A great breakfast experience at a classic place from our good past memories.
Spooky looking out front hope the food is better than by far....
Food is good and that really depends what you get. Make sure the eggs are what you asked for on how you want them. Orange juice yes have seeds in it so can cause a choke hazard for anyone!!
Food was really good had great flavor.. Real O.j.
Great breakfast recommended by a friend! Definitely a classic Diner experience. They had a Mexican breakfast which was amazing. We also had the fried herbed mashed potato balls. Definitely worth a try!
Good Chicken Fried Steak
A really great breakfast, hearty and filling. I took half of it home and enjoyed one more breakfast out of it. Just good, tasty, unique items on the menu. Be sure and order a glass or carafe of fresh squeezed OJ. It is delicious!
Always the best food and best service in town!!
The hollandaise sauce was fabulous and the food was good, but the building is run down (especially the ceiling) and the place doesnt look all that clean. Great service, though.
A really casual place to get super good food. You cant go wrong ordering pretty much anything. The fresh squeezed OJ is divine! The service is good to great, depending on how busy they are. Nice people.Weve gone may times, and will go many more.
Met family here at 9am Sunday. Garden omelet was spectacular. Friendly fast service. Great character!
Classen Grill is near and dear to my heart. An Oklahoma City staple it is a hole in the wall in the best way possible. You cant go wrong with any item of the menu, but frequently the creative Specials have lured me away from my favorites. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. You cant go wrong whether you are looking for a breakfast hangover cure or a nice meal after Church.
Super love this place! Breakfast is amazing, friendly service and food comes out fast. Reason for 4 stars is the place doesn’t smell the greatest. They need to at least renovate
Service was friendly but a little unprofessional. However, I had the best orange juice and eggs Benedict Ive ever had, so I will definitely be going back.
Always tasty!
Good breakfast friendly staff
Arrived for breakfast and they were short on staff. Waiter was direct but not very friendly. Food came out hot and quick thats why Im giving it 4stars. Place needs renovation...it was a sewer smell... hope things improve I like their food.
If youre looking for a good breakfast nook while visiting the City, or looking to try something new, this is the place. We dont always eat a breakfast, but made an exception today. Classen Grill is right across from our hotel, so easy walk to and from. Very nice little place; decor was what I expected. Nice little paintings on the walls give it a personal touch. Not a huge, huge variety of breakfast menu, but good enough for repeat business from us and regulars, and you dont need a huge variety. I had the Triple Play: 2 eggs my way, 4 pcs of bacon, and 2 pancakes nearly the size of the plate. Really good coffee. I highly recommend coming and enjoying the food and folks at the Classen Grill.
This was such a fun first visit! Met several girlfriends for breakfast. Was so pleased that mimosas were offered, so we ordered a pitcher, plenty of coffee and individual meals. I normally take photos but we were having so much fun that I forgot. Omelets were great and I loved the meatless option and a well done English muffin. Wait staff was great, attentive to our many needs and this is the kind of service we hope to have when we dine out. Thank you!
Neat little place with an artsy feel of decor. Very loud on the weekend morning but well worth the breakfast and FRESH SQUEEZED orange juice. Delicious and affordable. Also has Mexican inspired breakfast to choose from. Omelets was big and full of the ingredients. Would recommend getting breakfast here.
Classic diner food and atmosphere in a historic building. One of my favorite local restaurants in OKC.
Old school diner with many classic breakfast options served fast by friendly courteous staff. Not too loud so you can enjoy conversation without shouting. Military and police discount.
The service here was great and the food was decent. I really appreciate the welcoming staff and knowledgeable servers. Other than that this is a fine place to go for breakfast if you are looking for home cooking at a good price.
This place is really nice. The star of our meal was the orange juice. Freshly squeezed, from VERY ripe fruit. The food is also pretty good, but typical.
Next time I’ll take a pic of either chinook eggs Benedict or Virginia beach Benedict. Both breakfast are so good I order one or the other every time I stop in. I are here just Saturday and at least once a month. Loretta has been here for years and always on top of her game. Did I mention how good the coffee is? I normally drink at least 4 cups of not more while enjoying breakfast. Food comes out still warm sometimes hot you can see the steam. This is a great classic place to eat
We took a large group of 12 during brunch. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food was good. Salmon cakes and grits were a hit with a few people in the group.
Busy as hell on weekends. It has a certain appeal and not much has changed. But honestly, other than the fresh squeezed orange juice its pretty standard breakfast fare. A little updating of menu, decor and service attitude would do wonders.
I ordered the hot ham and cheese sandwich, with classen grilled potatoes. Except for not getting the correct side with my order, the sandwich was good. I dont k ow what side I received. They looked like fried hush puppies, but definitely wasnt grilled potatoes. Thats the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
Fabulous breakfast. Great service! Cant wait to go again and try something new. So many choices!!
Doesnt look like much but this is just a diamond in the rough just needs a little TLC great breakfast!!
