I ordered a part from group one online after researching the site and seeing mixed reviews. They took my order and the next day I checked the tracking number and saw there was no information. I called the number and Tom answered. He was polite and answered my questions directly and explained the process. He stated that when I ordered the part, they were out of stock so they had ordered a part from somewhere else in the city and that once it was received it would be shipped to me later in the week. After waiting two days I had decided to check my email again. No change in tracking. I called them and they said the system said it was received and waiting to be shipped. I only live a couple hours away and really needed the part today so I suggested that they set it out and I would drive down and pick it up. He said they could do that for me and he would have the guys track down the part after lunch. I just picked up the part and it’s an exact replacement exactly as I ordered it. No complaints on my end. Will be purchasing from them in the future.
They got my bravada running again. Im forever thankful!!!
Auto Group 1 is just Bob Howard PDC online. You will get a much better price if you order on Group 1 than if you just walk into BH PDC as a retail customer.
Ordered a part from their website after system verified proper fitment. When inspecting the part upon arrival, realized that it would not fit my truck after all. I returned the item, and asked for reimbursement on the shipping since the website said it would fit my vehicle.Customer service was less than pleasant, and informed that they will not be able to reimburse you because there is an option in check-out that offers for you to give your VIN number to accurately match your part to your vehicle and you didnt input one.The option at checkout is hard to see and easily missed. That option should be on the product page. I shouldnt have to verify fitment a 2nd time after Ive entered all my checkout information and Im about to click the submit button. Not a good experience.
Not sure about the negative reviews I have seen. They had a rare part in stock for me and shipped it quickly for a reasonable price. It turned out I didnt need it, and return was hassle free, including a quick refund to my credit card. They also responded to my inquiry about the return process quickly and courteously.I was quite pleased with the service, better than some other online parts retailers I have used in the past.
I work here.
Absolutely atrocious parts department with zero knowledge. Ordered two things for my truck. Cold air intake and lower center section of bumper. Instead of calling me they make the assumption that I wanted the main bumper not the lower center and also say there is an oversized charge for intake. They have no knowledge and just cancelled the order instead of calling verifying the parts and letting me know the added oversized charge and asking if I wanted to pay that. They just cancelled the order at end of business day.Avoid them like the plague.
I ordered a handle housing kit for my 2008 CTs not only was it missing the black seals but one of the micro switches came broken. Very disappointing I thought this was a legit website, I informed them of how the part came yet no response just automated message asking me for my VIN number.
2 weeks after ordering, the order (#94188) still said it was processing, they claimed that there was one part coming from further away and they would ship it in couple of days. 2 more weeks and no updates, had to email them three times and finally after 1 month they just cancelled the order saying parts have not arrived. Worse part is I lost entire month where i could not get my car fixed. Do not order from these folks.
Ordered parts for my car. 3 days later I call them because the status of my order still says processing. They then tell me that one of the things I ordered will take 8-10 business days to arrive (which I would have never been made aware of had I not called). Long story short, I cancelled the order.
They said part was ordered. After 10 days I got an email saying they’re cancelling my order because they misquoted the shipping price. Dumb. They should have honored it regardless.
It was nice that they could get the obscure part for my daughters 97 Honda wiper linkage, and for $10 less than my local Honda dealer (although the shipping charge wiped out the $10 saved on the part). However, its taken two and a half weeks to get this part. They told my they received and processed my part from Honda on Monday the 22nd. This was on Wednesday the 24th that they told me this. And I should have my part the following Monday (4/29). It didnt ship until Friday the 26th, and tracking says the part wont be here until Tuesday 4/30. Why in the world did it take 5 days to put my part in a box and slap a shipping label on it? Next time Ill spend the extra $10 and go directly to my local Honda dealer who couldve gotten me the part in 7 days. All in the name to save $10. Lesson learned.
They dont honor the internet price and just canceled my order.
-Family and I decide to purchase new vehicle, we research online, find vehicle at SMICKLAS one of GROUP 1 AUTOMOTIVE’s Dealerships, negotiate with sales manager, etc. Sales and mangers are awesome, polite, and attentive. I proceed to dealership financing in hand.-They send me to financing to begin signing paper work. We run my credit to see if they can offer me a better interest rate than what I brought with me. I was OVERJOYED that I was eligible for a lower interest rate through a local Oklahoma City credit union.-Concerning the EXTENDED WARRANTIES AND MAINTENANCE PLANS I wanted but my wife would be the final say, she was in meetings at work, I was unable to get ahold of her so I was unable to give them an answer on them at that time. The decision was made to fill out the paperwork with the warranties and if my wife wanted to make that change the finance manager would change it no problem.-Approximately 20 minutes later, my wife called me upon completion of her meeting. We discussed this and she informed me she was 100% against the extended warranties and maintenance plans. I informed the finance manager.-At this time the finance manager led me to believe that the lower interest rate that I qualified for could be in jeopardy if I did not choose the maintenance plan and service plan which was over $7000.00.--I asked him very specifically, numerous times, how a local OKC credit union’s interest rate is tied into a GM factory extended warranty. He said that his manager was on the phone at that time calling the credit union trying to salvage the interest rate, and that is how it works. I made it clear that I felt that he was DECEIVING me. Approximately 1 minute later he gets me and lets me know that they were able to “salvage” the rate.-Upon speaking to the General Manager he conducts an investigation. He felt that this was an honest mistake and a training issue for an inexperienced newer employee. That very well may be true and I hope that is the case. However, I do not think so and I feel there was INTENT TO DECEIVE due to the following:-My interest rate was either tied into or potentially tied into SMICKLAS’ and GM’s extended warranties plans or they were not, This is not a training issue, this is not an experience issue, it is an operational issue.-The finance manager stated numerous times that his boss was on the phone desperately trying to salvage my interest rate. This is not a training issue, this is not an experience issue, it is an operational issue. It either happened or it did not. If his boss was never on the phone “salvaging” my interest rate then there was INTENT!- I researched the credit union I now was financed with through SMICKLAS. I discovered that the rate that I had was advertised on that credit union’s website. So, to be clear the rate that SMICKLAS had given me was available to anyone if they were to apply through the website of this credit union. This is not a training issue this is not an experience issue, it is an operational issue and it shows INTENT on his part to IMMORALLY DECEIVE me and my family. I also contacted a lending manager from that credit union who assured me that the interest rates ARE IN NO WAY TIED IN WITH ANY FORM OF ADDITIONAL PURCHASES SMICKLAS MAY ATTEMPT TO REQUIRE OR PRESSURE CUSTOMERS TO PURCHASE.Bottom line is that the sales staff and service departments were very professionally at Smicklas. However, there is no doubt in my mind that THE FINANCE MANAGER OF SMICKLAS ATTEMPTED TO COERCE ME INTO PURCHASING OVER $7000 IN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND MAINTENANCE PLANS TO OBTAIN THIS INTEREST RATE BY LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THE TWO WERE INTERCONNECTED. I also want to make clear that this tactic was not a BOLD, AGGRSSIVE IN YOUR face tactic. It was passive aggressive but there was no mistaking that SMICKLAS’ FINANCE MANAGER attempted to IMMORRALY DECEIVE.
Returning things online is a pain, not hassle free, and youll have to pay for shipping both ways. Had to email and prompt a response, still waiting for the refund to show in the bank. Process has taken nearly a month. 2 stars because at least I could return.
