I absolutely love the staff in Lansing, MI area Ultas, esp Okemos & Frandor. Nothing negative to say about the 1 on the Westside, its simply just not convenient. Sarah in Frandor is a whizz helping you select the perfect color makeup regardless of your ethnicity & so sweet. It feels like a party with my best gfs at the Okemos store if only my friends were skincare & makeup experts! Chelsea is my go to & shell remember you, whatever goals you have! Shes another whizz at picking out colors regardless of your ethnicity which has been a prob for women of color for eons... It feels so good to be able to trust the selection advice without worrying about something looking chalky or the wrong undertone when you get home! I needed body makeup to cover some heavy scars in a personal area & without even seeing what was covered by clothes she was able to select the best product & an absolute shade match! IMPRESSED!!! Chelsea & Angel are so incredibly knowledgeable about EVERY skincare product as well as all their makeup products. They can suggest items based on the shade, texture, use, age related skin/ makeup concerns without fail! & you know what?? If youre not happy, their customer service has been flawless! & Adam is just a helpful doll in the store, my daughters fave. So go into the store! Been debating if theres any product that might solve your prob? They have your back! (I mentioned these 4 beauty experts but honestly, Ive never had a bad experience with other employees. If they dont know, they quickly find someone that does!) Theyve also never made me feel rushed when I have tons of questions or forced into purchases. Also thank you for hiring diverse staff! Representation matters & lets me know Im welcome & can get the help I need.

I went to ulta for shampoo & mascara. I didn’t get shampoo there because they were out of what I needed. Not a big deal because I was only at refill stage, not emergency stage.I was greeted enthusiastically by the cashier, but 3 other employees I encountered didn’t offer a greeting or assistance.Until Whitney found me in cosmetics. She was friendly, helpful, sweet and was full of energy.I explained to her what I was after in a mascara and she took me right to a couple different options. She was very knowledgeable about different brands and their performance. She introduced me to PUR fully charged mascara and told me that I wouldn’t be disappointed. She was so sweet because she warned me that it was pricey, but worth the money.

Their Beauty Services is absolutely wonderful. The hairstylists are very friendly and their work is really remarkable.

Your average Ulta. Went in there the other day and it seemed as my products that I needed were out of stock. No biggie with that will just go to another one or order online. What I didn’t like was going in there with my brother and I’m guessing a manger came up to us asking if we need any help. Barley could hear her the only was I noticed was she was making eye contact with her. Said I was all set and thanked her and went on and told my brother I needed a certain product. The manager was far away but apparently heard me and told me where to go. This is where Inoticed it looked like she was just following us around the store. And even asked my brother what he thought and he agreed. She finally helped another customer after a while. This trip was very uncomfortable.

Seriously one of the worst experiences ever. So I ordered a product, or I thought I did, when I got to the store they explained it was out of stock and thats why my order didnt go through. So I purchased another product to hold me over until my product could be ordered. I used a 20% off when I placed the order, the store then placed the order of course they didnt use the coupon. They then couldnt do anything to refund the money so I had them cancel the order and put it through with the discount. What a surprise the order wasnt cancelled like the manager said. Seriously I spoke to Ultas Customer Service twice and both times they would do nothing to help or offer anything although multiple mistakes were made on their end. Talk about horrible service, the employees really did nothing to help correct the situation and the company does nothing to empower the employees. Ulta please keep your automatic generated responses, I not only tried to work with the managers at your store I called customer service and no one was willing/able to do anything! If you had read my response you would see that. Because of this experience I will never shop at Ulta again Ill go to Sephora or any other Retailer!

Sheena did an amazing job with this cute festival style for Prime Music Festival in Lansing last weekend. I had booked with Ulta in Frandor and due to booking and communication errors they sent me over to West Lansing Ulta in the computer and Okemos in person! Luckily the staff in Okemos was super understanding and graciously did my service promptly (without any notice) and comped it! I had booked for two fishtail braids but Sheena worked with my preferences to create this original style that lasted over the course of three events! I couldnt be happier with my service and will make Okemos my Ulta of choice, always. 💗

Ulta Salon at Okemos has finally helped me love my hair. My stylist Katie has amazing cutting skills for my waist length thick hair. I also love that my salon visit counts towards my rewards points! I basically get free shampoo all year when I save up. Will be back and sending friends.

I have bought a ton of products here and I went here to get my makeup done for homecoming. I love their products and when I got my makeup done, the lady who did it was sooo kind. She highlighted my best features and she always made sure that I was comfortable with all of the stuff she was doing. 10/10 Would recommend, I have always left here feeling happy and the staff is always fantastic.

*Overpriced*The stylist was personable and did a very nice job on my hair. However it ending up costing much higher than they originally quoted me. Maybe there was a misunderstanding and she did more work than anticipated but it only took about an hour for the whole process. Very overpriced in my opinion so be warned before hand.

Had a little trouble maximizing the value of my Ulta points, and the cashiers, especially Emma, were extremely helpful. They went so far as to return and rering my items several times to make sure I got the best bang for my buck. Ive been to this store many times and am always impressed by how helpful and friendly the cashiers are.

Very pleased with the hair salon and our favorite stylist, Sheena. Sheena is always personable and provides excellent customer service. However, the decor and upkeep is lacking. Especially for a store in Okemos. The wallpaper is peeling with tape pieces keeping the paper upright. I would like to give this location 5 stars, but sadly cannot.

The employees here are very nice, but I went here for event makeup application and I will never come back. WAY overpriced for not that great service. Charged seventy dollars for makeup plus we left a tip because we didn’t want to be rude, but my makeup looked like I could have just done it myself, nothing special and there were lots of areas I had to have fixed/redone by my friend afterwards. For that price I expect a full face of amazing makeup. My face was ghostly white afterwards (hardly any contour), my eyebrows didn’t match, the lashes we paid for weren’t even applied to my lash line, lip color was too dark when I asked for nude, and my eyeshadow wasn’t the best either. I shouldn’t have to ask you to fix things if your job is to do makeup. I finally just said okay it looks fine and left to get it fixed by my friend.

I went there for a makeup lesson with Brittany that was to be half an hour. She took her time, over an hour with me, and really took her time to help me with my makeup! She was very nice and easy to talk to!

When I entered this store I was greeted by an extremely friendly beauty consultant who smiled and greeted me. The store was clean and well maintained, although it seemed out of date. So, in short, my rating is excellent for the staff, but diminished by the outdated facilities.

My close friend was assaulted at this location by an employee who grabbed her face without consent and attacked her with unsolicited advice on how to solve her problem skin. Probably dont go here, they do not understand boundaries, personal space, or the fact that people have thier own personal medical difficulties and may prefer not to be grabbed.

I had a great experience at this Ulta today, so Im pretty surprised by the bad reveiws.This is not the usual store I shop at, but I have been to the one in Saginaw several times. I always find it to be an ok experience, though it really seems to depend on the associate you get. Some are super helpful, some are rude. This time, however, the girls were WONDERFUL.I had called ahead to get a specific skincare sample, which the girl said was in stock. When I got there, it turned out there werent any sample ones open. The girl was incredibly apologetic, one of the other associates walked me around and showed me a ton of similar options (looked up active ingredients and everything!), and gave me several samples to try. Then, on my way out, the original girl handed me a little goody bag of sample merchandise for going so far out of your way (I had mentioned over the phone that I was driving from Saginaw on business and was swinging by). Wonderful experience!!

Honestly, just awful. I went in to get my hair colored and the stylist had to ask her manager how to do the coloring I wanted. Then, even though I scheduled the right appointment for the coloring, they said they didnt have time to get my hair colored during my appointment. They did cut my hair (actually had me stand to get my hair cut, which was odd) and didnt even offer me a coupon for the cut until I said something to the manager up front. The salon manager was extremely rude to me and talked to me like I was a toddler, and gave me a 15% on my cut. Never trying to get my hair done there again!

Always a great trip, spend too much money!

Visited a little over a week ago and had to stand there waiting for the cashier to get off her cell phone, even after saying excuse me she didnt even look up. Today I tried to book an appointment, I said Id like to book an appointment for a haircut, its for my child and the associate days with attitude so you need a haircut... Well thats what I just said. She then seemed frustrated that she didnt have an available appointment at the time I needed and then asked for my last name, I said G-o-v-i-n and she starts spelling it back to me Z-o-v so I said its G as in God and she quips at me that I dont need to raise my voice.. I hadnt raised my voice, I was in my car on speaker phone. Rude staff, Ill take my business to sephora and other local hair salons from now on.

Last night we were trying to buy a self-tanning cream.But the saleswoman is rude and has some attitude problem.So we bought it in Amazon.

I have been here 5 times in the last few years and EVERYTIME I asked my colorist to save my highlights, NOT ONCE did they save it as I asked on my first to last visit. My hair is very hard to lift to blonde with out being brassy, so its extremely important that when something goes right that its saved so they can use that color again. Unfortunately, the 5 times I have been there, I have seen a different person for full highlights, cut and style....very high turnover. The last time, which was my LAST time going to ULTA for anything was a nightmare! I complained very nicely to the colorist because she had to use a toner and didnt believe me after 30 years of highlights that my hair would be brassy, then she had the nerve to charge me for a toner to correct her mistake, charged me for it and told me she could not blow dry and style because she had another client waiting. She said she would revise my bill. I got to the front counter with over 100$ worth of product, took everything to check out and I WAS happy because they took the hair service off my bill. Well NO they did NOT! They called me later in the evening and stated that I still owed them 210$.....what? I asked for the manager and she said I owed the whole amount of the hair services! She even threatened to call the police if I didnt pay them, which I did right away. These people obviously have management and staffing issues, are not professional and do not care about you at all. Dont waste your money or time with the ULTA in Okemos. I have my MBA and have worked in management over 20 years. This is not acceptable for any business. Dont waste your time or money. I have a wonderful colorist now who actually cares! I dont mind paying and tipping to up or over the amount of 300$ if things are done properly.

I also had a bad salon experience. My girlfl also had to ask her manager how to dye my hair and how to mix the color, when to shampoo it and do the shot treatment she couldnt figure out how to curl my hair the manager had to help her because she couldnt get my hair to curl. Apparently it was her 1st day. If I wanted a cheap hair cut from a student i would of went Douglas J. I paid full price for mediocre service and she also managed to stain a lot of my face and clothing.

I bought three bottles of Butter London nail polishes and some other stuff in this Ulta store. I put the bag back into my car and kept shopping in that plaza. After one and half hours, I went back to my car and found that one of the nail polishes exploded everywhere on everything I bought. Since I was still in the same shopping plaza, I went back to the Ulta store, not wishing that they would get a new one for me, but at least help me clean up the stuff I bought that all covered in nail polishes. However, the only thing the store manager said was it was not their responsibility. So I asked if they could help me clean the mess, she said no. This is the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. I thought customer satisfaction is an important thing to Ulta, apparently not, or at least not this one. It was a extremely disappointing shopping experience at Ulta.

I say Im not sure, i was given some a few months ago and i broke it and need to replace it She then takes me to the most expensive brand in the store says this is the one she uses and walks off. I am not one to use very expensive make up.. I am not good at applying make up and dont use it enough to spend $40 on a single item. I then go to check out. I am purchasing some headbands, lipstick and mini shampoo and conditioner for traveling. The cashier asks for my phone number so i could use my coupon that i received for being a rewards member. Once the cashier rings everything in she goes and your not so grand total of before telling me my price.... Im still not sure if that was offensive because i am not spending that much or if she was being funny that my coupon knocked off $10. Then i say, do you need to scan my rewards card? she looks at me disgusted and says um that is why i asked you for your phone number when i started to ring your items. okay- excuse me i thought it was for the coupon, i wasnt sure if it needed to be done separately or not. I am so disgusted with how rude the entire staff was while i was there. Stop making girls feel like they need to use hundreds of dollars worth of beauty supplies to be pretty. Make up can be used to ENHANCE our features, they dont define us

Way overpriced!

This is the most horrible salon Ive ever been to. They always dye my hair blonde every time I go for some reason he dyed it brown and silver!!!!!! I told him the regular color we always use, then he did the complete opposite!!!!!!!!!!!! The average cost is $100 for this service that is horrible!!!!!!! Messed up my whole entire day because couldnt dye my hair the right color!!!!! I am going back to personal image salon!!!!!!!!!!

I am surprised that they are not out of business. With such arrogant and rude saleswoman, someone should be stupid to buy anything from them.

From Benefit brow bar workers to cashiers, they were very rude to me. I dont think they deserve any star. It was very disappointing experience with Ulta. I would rather go to Sephora, even though it is farther way from where I live.
