I took a set of heads here on a recommendation from a friend of mine.Its not the closest machine shop to my house. Not by a long shot.But they got my heads done in just under 30 days, and there was problems with the parts that were sent to them not working with my heads.Overall I was impressed. My heads needed everything, and I knew it. I spent $1200 for hardened exhaust seats, valve guides, valves, springs, retainers, everything.I felt like I paid a fair price, and even though there was some issues with getting some of the parts, I felt like I got the heads back pretty quickly. Id have been waiting another month at the shop thats closest to me, so theres a lot less downtime.I would definitely go back there again.

I just had to have air in 1 of my tires. Nice place. However they do not do tires. Will do your check engine lights though.

I took my heads for my 6.4 there they said they were cracked beyond repair ( maybe what they will repair) long story short they have been repaired and are on my truck. Just saying always double check around they do quality work here wich is why they dont take risks. But that being said the shop I had fix my heads gave me a 1 year warranty with a 3 angle valve job all for 1100 for 2 heads jensensnwanted 2200 for 2 heads with a 3 angle

I dont write many reviews but this shop was outstanding to work with. When our truck broke down on our Utah vacation they were willing to squeeze us into their busy schedule. Even when the truck ended up being a much bigger headache than anyone expected they still worked hard and finished the repairs in time for us to drive it home. The truck drove amazing all 12 hours of our drive home. We achieved between 3 to 4 mpg better than on our way to Utah! I have never worked with a more thorough shop. We worked with Don who wrote up a whopping 4 page description of all the diagnostic and repair work completed! I wish this shop was located where we live.

If you like walking into an auto shop, and being treated fair, this is absolutely the place to go. They will look through your vehicle, and show you with photographic proof, the problems with your vehicle. They are extremely easy to work with, and are some of the kindest people you will meet. I will take my vehicles here and spend a little more money, over a better “deal” any day. Taking your vehicle here is the absolute best thing that you could do, if you want/need to trust your vehicle.

Where do you begin to talk about a saving grace? While driving to Ogden to visit with our son at Hill AFB, our diesel truck towing a 16,000 lb. fifth wheel trailer decided to act up, with what we thought were transmission issues. It happened to be Saturday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. We were able to limp in to our RV spot at Hill AFB Fam Camp and get set up. That evening I discovered that you could describe your problems on Yelp and that there were businesses who would contact you about the problem. I did this and Jensen Auto Service got back to me immediately, but said that they wouldnt be able to get to it for about a week and a half. I thanked them for their time via message and looked elsewhere. On Tuesday morning I got a call from them saying that if it wasnt a complete transmission replacement that they would be able to get to it that week. I limped the truck over to their shop and even though I didnt use the service, they offered to chauffer me around to get transportation while they worked on my truck. By midmorning on Wednesday, they had the problem diagnosed, and had a prospectus in my hands. I put them to work immediately and I picked up the truck on Friday afternoon. The cost was FAR less than I was expecting and they made sure to communicate all of the ins and outs of the replacement parts. They went so far as to make certain that I knew to contact them about warranty issues if I had to take it to a certified NAPA dealer with problems during the warranty period. They did a stem to stern inspection and brought up several issues that I would need to take care of when I got back home.What could have been absolutely disastrous turned out to be nothing more than a blip on the radar of life.This is a repair business that I wish I had in my area so that I could make them the permanent caretaker of my vehicles.If you need help, this is the place to go. If it was possible to give them six or seven stars, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Thier machine shop understands what the term tolerances are I shipped them my brand new Eliminator engine block directly from the manufacture with instructions as to what dimensions I wanted the bore, deck height & main bore after picking it up & measuring everything myself to verify dimensions they were exactly what I requested.Ive only used a select few engine nachine shops in my 40 plus years building hi performance racing engines i needed to find a local shop to do machine work to build an engine for a good friend of mine in the area.Heres the finished results

I found Jensen’s Auto on the web, when the Ford dealership said they were out 2 to 3 weeks just to see what was wrong with our Ford Focus SE.When I called, Carol said for us to take the vehicle in and wouldn’t charge us just to check the car out and listen for the noise. With out hesitation, he came out to look at the car and unfortunatley there was no noise.So we ended up leaving the Ford Focus and Jensen will do an extended diagnostic and let us know what needs to be done.My point is that Jensen, is busy like all other mechanics and they still took the time to look at my daughter’s car with detail and did it with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. They deserve your business.

I definitely got run around and there were a lot of issues but at the end of the day they did what they could to correct the issue.

I had an issue with intermittent nonstarting and Jensens auto was able to fix it quickly and accurately. Other shops might have given up on diagnostics and went straight to replacing parts, but Jensens took the time to see what was wrong and fix it the first time. If you are having car troubles, take it to Jensens and they can help you get it sorted. It says a lot about a shop that has technicians stay with them for decades.

I would like to thank Paul & his crew for all of the work they did on my 09 Chevy Malibu LTZ, I was honestly going to give up on this car. Super bummed I heard some good things about them. Karl in the machine shop seemed like a really great guy when I first met him. Unfortunately they did an awful job on my bore and hone as I had to get it redone by another machine shop. Which sucks because I really wanted to like the place. They also gave me the run around because they said they would only put my engine back together if I bought all the parts through them.Yeah I paid a little more to go to a different shop but if you’ve worked on engines before... you know it’s well worth it to have the job done right not necessarily the cheapest. I’m just disappointed. I wish I could be refunded the bore and hone. They at least did a good job cleaning my block.

I started coming here before I became part of the family. They are not one of those shops that are trying to rip you off. They are honest and will only perform the work that you approve. I recommend Jensen Auto to anyone that asks for a reliable and honest place.

This was seriously the best interaction with any auto shop I have ever had in my life, hands down. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful, and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction.The quote was spot on, and the service was great! They gave me a full rundown of everything wrong with my car, rated from most important to least, complete with pictures, and a breakdown of the cost for each thing they listed. The mechanic that took me for the test drive after the work was completed was so nice to me and showed me exactly what was fixed (bad sway bars causing a HORRIBLE noise in my front end). Seriously, this is the BEST place to go. Booked out a few days or so, but so worth it if its something that can wait a couple days. :D

Man these folks are amazing. I was having some gnarly issues in my Hyundai Tucson, and they got me straight in about a day and a half. Jensen is really great, because when they do a vehicle diagnosis, they go over the whole thing. I was given about 3 paragraphs of issues rated from not a big deal, to being g a very big deal. I was highly recommended to Jensen and I was not disappointed at all. Theyll get you fixed up when you need it.

Jensens auto service was a fantastic repair shop. I took my 2007 Subaru WRX in for a repair. I had fuel injectors connection problems and my injectors were leaking fuel with a vacuum leak. They fixed all of this and also verified that my timing was in the right place after my recent engine rebuild. My car is still misfiring a little bit but it does run way better than it did. I believe the misfiring is due to a tune issue and not mechanical. Thank you Jensens Auto! I will be coming back for future repairs and rebuilds from now on!

I took my car in diagnose some problems and they actually took pictures of leaks and things that needed changed then gave me the quote for their cost for the repairs. Ive had multiple engines machined here and they were perfect! Great staff, and experience. I always take my car here for repairs. Very highly reccommend.

I had a rotor break in half seeing how well they were reviewed I had the van towed to them to do the repair. They replaced both rotors and brakes. Then told me the system need bled for and additional 138 dollars, the kit costs 9 bucks to do it I told them no. when we went to do it we found we couldnt get a tire off because one of the lug nuts was jammed in the socket. when my husband tried to just reach it the bleeder pin it was cross threaded and stuck too. If you get them to do a good job your lucky

I have been going to Jensen auto since 2000, when I blew up my Camaro engine a few months after buying it. During the past 19 years they have built at least a dozen engines and driveshafts for me, and fixed multiple problems.The thing I really enjoy are the people there. Many of the Same guys work there today, that worked there 20 years ago. I have been able to build true friendships with them and get to know them all as time went on. They are incredibly talented and do amazing work. Paul runs a great company and it shows. Thanks again for all you’ve done for me and my friends over the years.

My vehicle broke down while I was traveling to Utah, and Jensens was the closest spot to take it. The crew got my vehicle in and checked out and reported back to me with quotes very quickly. While My decision was to not fix the vehicle, Jensens did everything they could do get me back on the road. The owner even offered me a ride to a rental car place. this is a very friendly group who you can tell care about their customers. If I have any car trouble in the future in Utah, Jensens will be my stop.

I am building a 496 for my 70 corvette and had jensens do the machine work on my block, I went down the street to chets first and decided to try jensens and ultimately they did the work. It was a really good experience as this is a special build for me, I bet I called poor carl 100 times through the process and he always answered my questions and would let me come see the progress. They found an issue with the cam tunnel and had to send it down to salt lake to be fixed and new bearings pressed in. I thought it was going to get really expensive after that but it was an extra $250. I wish I could post pictures so you could see what a great job they did. Sadly my 496 and all the parts are sitting on a shelf waiting to be installed but the block is ready thanks to jensens. I will definitely use them for any other machine work on my other projects and definitely recommend.

I have taken two different vehicles. Great service. Got some u joints replaced in my ford ranger, then some work to my jeep which was a money pit anyway. But they always did a good job. Have not taken in my new ish vehicle but when I need to this is where I am going.

They completely rebuilt an LS6 engine for my 2005 Cadillac CTS-V. The rebuild took just over a week, start to finish, which was faster than I was expecting. The car is unbelievable and I love how well its running. This team has decades of experience, and they still love what they do. Theyre now my go-to shop.

This is a great shop and are awesome people. I was taking my kid to college in Denver. Her blazer started to over heat. Seeing as we were 700 miles from Portland Oregon I didnt have a mechanic. They were close and had good reviews. They pulled a miracle in mechanics world. They literally examined the car within 15 mins and determined it needed a water pump. It was 2 in the afternoon. I figured theyd get it done in the morning. Nope, they understood my situation and the need to get my kid to school. Ordered a pump and at 5:30 PM that SAME DAY, called me and said come get my Blazer. What planet is this. Same day auto repair in the afternoon? Wish their shop was in Portland. Great guys. Been working with Paul and Karl at Jensen for 7 years now on our race motors. Nearly every engine that has left makes over 1200 hp and all of them have been excellent. I used everyone up and down the Wasatch Front only to find frustration and frustration. Finally in 2009 I gave Jensen a try. I brought them another motor that had already been machined and assembled to my specs. I asked them to simply pull the motor apart and measure everything and report back on the sizes without giving them any specs as to how it shouldve been built. Needless to say the already assembled motor was completely wrong. I promptly had them fix the motor to my requested specs and weve continued to do MANY motors every year since. Stand up guys that do excellent work. Wouldnt choose anyone else.

Another Update: Coil went bad on the Ford truck. Taking it to Jensens was easier than trying to do it myself. Work was done super quick and Paul informed me the price of coils had went down since the last time I had a coil changed. Charged me less instead of the same price as last time. Would your shop be this honest?UPDATE: Same truck but this time the heater core went out. Long story short, Jensens frogot to check a motor while they were fixing the core. Brought the truck back in...no charge for labor and gave me a ride to work! Paul was professional again and the shop exceeded my expectations once more. Best shop I have ever worked with. Paul kept me up to date on my repair and was very easy to work with. Honest! My estimate included a gasket and a thermostat. When my new intake manifold arrived, it included the gasket and thermostat. A dishonest shop would have kept my bill the same and pocketed the free parts but this shop reduced my bill and saved me some money. Repair was done ahead of schedule. A good, honest shop is a rare find and this is one of those places.

“Jensens” automotive machine shopIncompetantBrought in a BBC crank assembly for balancing because they said they could do it.Got it back after they said it was done, got home, looked at all the parts and nothing looked like the parts were touched. Checked the weight on the pistons and rods and nothing was balanced. Harmonic balancer pulley and pressure plate weren’t even indexed. I go back up there and I talk to Karl who had the audacity to lie to my face, quote- we weigh the components and put the lightest piston with the heaviest rod, even if this is so, how come nothing was marked so the customer can re-assemble correctly. Questioned Karl on the pressure plate indexing/balancing, Quote – we can’t balance the Centerforce pressure plate. So all they did was put two drill holes on the crank throw and said that they balanced the assembly. They are good at stealing your money and wasting your time. I pretty sure I know what I’m talking about – 40 plus years restoring autos, have an associates in Engine machining, Automotive technology and welding.

I brought my Escalade in to Jensen Auto sure that the engine or transmission had overheated (a sensor had on overheat warning). I broke down and my car wouldnt work..at all. I was towing a trailer, it was a hot day and I was at the top of the hill on the way home and I thought Id blown the engine (or transmission) and so was everyone who checked it out themselves. I had it towed to Jensens Auto and EVERYONE braced for the worst thinking I had done enough damage to either my engine or transmission to warrant a $2,000 OR MORE bill. I was sooooo worried that when Paul called me to give me the status of my car, I couldnt call him for two days! Im a single mom with several kids at home and with lots of bills at the start of a new school year, it was the last thing I wanted or needed at this time, I was really upset. I finally called Paul and he said....I dont know what made you think you blew your engine but all we could find to fix was your gear shifter, it had lost a cuff that held it in place and moved it from gear to gear (Im not using the technical words, lol). He said....weve driven it everywhere and we cant see any overheating or damage. I was soooooo happy. Everyone thought my car may have been done for. I told everyone that my car was ok and one guy said....those are some honest guys there. They couldve really taken advantage of you under those circumstances. With my knowledge of cars (none), I wouldnt have known any different. I obviously still had a bill and it wasnt fun, but it couldve been much worse. I needed a little more work to get emissions done and they had a mechanic deal with a problem that cut my bill in half because he knew how to install something without having to take everything apart. Today I went back and needed help on other issue and Mike was more than gracious to push me into the schedule right then so that I wouldnt have to come back. After this last month, I will always take my car to Jensen Auto. I NEVER write reviews for companies but after such great service and honesty and as a single mom who values every penny...I had to write something. Also, there were several times when theyd call me to update me on my cars progress and inquire how I wanted them to proceed...they ALWAYS tried to fix the issue but pick the least expensive route that didnt break my bank. Pauls great as are all the guys there. Like I said, I dont know anything about how to fix a car, Im totally at any mechanics mercy, which is scary! But all the guys that looked at my car beforehand, and then saw the repairs made and then the bill they gave me at the end were totally impressed! ...thanks Paul, Mike and team, you dont know how much this made a difference for me at this time. I give 5 stars and will recommend them to ANYONE who I see that needs help with their cars!

I called and spoke with Karl about replacing some valves seats in a set of gen 3 Hemi heads. I am a machinist and I spoke in detail about what I would like to get done to my heads and Karl showed resistance about what I wanted to get done. I wasn’t asking for anything extreme, just a couple extra thousandths of an inch interference fit on the valve seats as these hemi heads are known for dropping valves seats with the factory press fit of .005” interference fit. All Karl would say is “the industry standard is .005” press fit” which I understand is industry standard on cast iron heads, but it is not unheard of to go a little tighter on aluminum heads to accommodate greater rates of thermal expansion. Other local shops quoted going no lower than .007” and as high as .010” interference fit as normal practice on aluminum heads. Personally having custom machine work done on the customer’s asset at the customers expense shouldn’t feel as an out of the ordinary request. Karl wouldn’t budge on the industry standard standpoint, and seemed to get irritated with my request, by saying “I just don’t understand why you want to go tighter than the standard” I had already explained the reasoning to him, so I opted to take my business elsewhere. I gave 2 stars because the phone conversation stayed on the professional side, but I was disappointed with the irritation and the lack of willingness to accommodate such a simple request.

They told me to rebuild my 1.5 liter 94 honda for 1800! Who charges that? Parts are 400$ a new engine would cost me 1200$. Before you deal with shops get a quote then check how much the parts actually cost to see if they are trying to nickel and dime you. Once this shop told me 1800, i said nope, id be better off buying a new engine lol shops are a joke

We resently purchaced a 383 stroker motor for a 70 camero we restored for a customer of ours. it is hands down the best motor I have ever purchaced. started and ran perfect from the start, set the timing adjusted the carb and never had to touch it again. Thanks to paul and Carl for a job very well done. Only place I will use for my custom motors.

Quoted it would take 3 weeks, ended up being almost 6 weeks and then they messed up and refused to take responsibility.

Service was not completed on time. When I questioned “Karl” he was rude and had no desire to correct the situation. Instead of attempting to fix the busted time line, he’s was happy to tell me the take it somewhere else. Called me 10 mins after I left to tell me the “new” price to ensure it would drive me away!!! Mission accomplished Karl!!!! Don’t take anything to this machine shop. Worst customer service ever!!!
