Ken and his wife are the absolute nicest. Ken was very professional and knowledgeable when it came to my new shoes. I do not just take my shoes to anyone. He did an amazing job and I am very pleased with everything. I will be bringing him more of my shoes!

Fantastic service at this business. I purchased a pair of designer sandals and needed a non skid sole that wasnt too thick to take away from the aesthetics but durable and functional.Ken was super friendly, knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed. I had to write a review of the exemplary customer service I received and the total professionalism of the owner Ken.I have to say I was pleasantly surprised because it is a rare find in this day and age.Last Saturday 7/31/2021, I googled a shoe repair shop and found this gem.I stopped in and explained to the owner Ken, that the straps to my favorite but inexpensive pair of sandals was broken as well as a zipper on a romper I had purchased, that never worked. He was knowledgeable about his craft, polite,professional and did not judge me for wanting to have my really inexpensive sandals repaired😊.He was able to fix my zipper on the spot and told me my shoe would be ready that Monday or Tuesday.I know the zipper now works perfect because I wore it out that same evening and it was perfect.I stopped by on Monday 8/2 and my sandal was ready.I could not tell which strap had being repaired.I was impressed and elated and any expectations I had, were surpassed and pricing was more than fair.I would not even think twice about going back if I needed to or recommending Ken’s services.

I love everything about this place, it is very professional, honest, fast, very reasonable price. it is not so close to me, but I will always use it. The owner Ken really needs a lesson in kindness, respect and customer service. I brought in a sandal to have an orthopedic lift put on for my 97 year old mother(who was with me in the store). His cost was 20% higher than what she was used to paying at her old cobbler from Daytona Beach. I politely asked several questions regarding color, craftsmanship and cost. Apparently those question offended him and he got aggressive and started to say that we can choose to go to her old cobbler if we wanted, and that actually he should be charging more. At that point I was so confused and shocked, almost shaking at what was happening and how he was talking to my mother and me. I said to him, “I’m asking these questions because your cost is quite a bit higher. I don’t mind paying more, but I want to make sure the craftsmanship and quality is worth the extra 20%.” I also asked if he had any shoes he’s done lifts on that I could look at. He said after just coming back from vacation, all the shoes had been picked up. (Hmm) I’ve used his shoe services several times over the past few years and have never seen that side of him. I think a customer has the right to ask a question especially when it pertains to a medical orthopedic lift. Are you kidding me?? I never raised my voice I simply asked a question about craftsmanship, quality and cost. Even a customer who was in the store when the conversation took place, was looking like what is going on, her face was so confused because she knew I didnt say or do anything wrong since she was standing there the whole time. Ken, this is no way to run a business. As a professional business owner, you should have politely said, I am sorry my rate is higher than what you’re used to and I understand if you’d like to shop around. Justify your higher rate. Let the customer know they won’t be disappointed with you work, etc etc. Simply have some respect and empathy Ken. Especially for your elders! My mother was shocked and said she has never been treated like that by a business owner in her life. We’re going to take a day trip to Daytona and have her old cobbler put the lift on. She’s welcomed and adored there and treated with dignity and respect. And…with the money saved, we’ll have a nice seafood lunch while we’re there.🤗Remember…the customer is always right. I will never go there again and I hope he does not treat anyone else this way.

I have been going to Custom Shoe repairs for over 5 years. I went this evening on 4/27/21 at 5.07 pm to do alterations on a dress. I called ahead and said I was going to be 15 mins late but got there only about 7 minutes late. After Maria measured me and I was getting my ticket from Ken, I asked him when will it be ready for pickup and he told me in about a week and I asked when I come to pick it up and it is still too long or needs additional alterations, what can I do then? Apparently that question offended him and he got aggressive and started to say that I was already late and that he can choose to do business with whoever he wants to. At that point I was so confused and shocked, almost shaking at what was happening and how he was talking to me and I said to him what are you talking about? I have never seen that side of him. I think a customer has the right to ask a question if their alterations is not the way the want it at pick up, what are the options. I even said to him I have been coming here for so long what did I do to offend you? He said I USED to come here and I have 30 seconds to leave his store!!!! Are you kidding me?? I never raised my voice I simply asked a question about what if the dress needs additional alterations. Even Maria, his seamstress was looking like what is going on, her face was so confused because she knew I didnt say or do anything wrong since she was standing there the whole time. Ken, this is not a way to run a business. If I offended you, you should have simply said. Lisa I am sorry but we cannot do this alteration for you. Like a professional business owner. I will never go there again and I hope he does not treat anyone else this way.

My son was in ROTC for three years and I brought his uniform here every other week to be cleaned. The uniform was always perfect when I picked it up and ready on time. There were even a few times he got it ready for me early because I forgot to bring it in on time. Ken and his wife have always been wonderful and provided great customer service.

I hated to throw away these very comfortable shoes that needed new soles - Ken was very friendly and passionate about his craft - He did a great job and got them clean and looking like new - I highly recommend Him for shoe repair

The rudest business owner; if you take your clothes or shoes there, be prepared to get insulted and threaten to call the police for no reason. Old miserable man who does not need to be in contact with the public.

Kenneth West did a fantastic job in resoling a pair of my Allen Edmonds shoes recently. He used a very high quality replacement sole and when he finished, my shoes were restored to brand new condition. He did all of this for much less than it would have cost me to buy a new pair of shoes. Going forward, I will be taking all of my dress shoes to Custom Shoe Repair to be resoled and I may never buy another pair of new shoes again! Thank you Ken!

I have found my new shoe guru! Ken worked magic of my favorite pair of boots! He put new grips on the bottom (So I don’t bust my butt like I have done way too many times!) He fixed a little cracking/pealing and he shinned them up beautifuly! I will 100% be back to Ken and have found myself a new dry cleaner!

I struggle to understand the negative reviews for this location, as Ive gone here for shoe repair a number of times since 2016 and Ive always had excellent service. Today (June 7, 2018) I got back two pairs of shoes that needed repair. A pair of Johnston & Murphy dress shoes that needed reheeling, and a pair of Kenneth Cole dress shoes with leather soles that needed the soles replacing. When we dropped them off on the previous Saturday the owner welcomed us on arrival, was polite and clearly explained the options available, even taking the time to check that I didnt use the shoes for dancing (I hadnt considered that dancing shoes need to slide more easily - he had and took the time to explain the options available to me). When we went ahead with the order, we were given a pick-up date and were also thanked sincerely for our business.My wife picked up the shoes today, and she confirms that the service and courtesy received was no different from when we dropped them off. The repairs werent cheap ($70 for both repairs), but the quality of work on both jobs is exceptional and means that I can continue to wear these shoes for many more years. You cant even see that the repairs have been made. I know that this is how it should be, but unfortunately thats not always how work turns out anymore. Im prepared to pay a little extra to have the reassurance that the job will be done right the first time. Ive always found the owner to be honest on whether a repair can be a permanent repair or if itll happen again and I find that quality important. I will continue to return to this location for high quality shoe repair for as long as it remains open and provides the same high standard of service.

I walked in to get a quote on fixing a zipper on a jacket, and the gentleman fixed the jacket right then and there. I also got a quote on repairing a pair of shoes and it was extremely affordable. I recommend this business to anybody needing a repair on Coats or shoes.

I am so impressed with the shoe repair here. I brought in a fabulous pair of leather boots that had bad heel wear and were all uneven and wore through 4 or 5 layers in the sole. I wasnt sure if they were repairable because of the level of damage. But they did an INCREDIBLE job on the repairs, so beautiful and just perfect. I didnt think that was possible and now I have my favorite boots back! Thank you so much! I highly recommend their show shoe repair services.

Very honest a trustworthy! I had two dresses that I wanted to get dry cleaned. I went to a place a couple miles up the road and they wanted $70 for two dresses! I then went to Custom Shoe Repair and Dry cleaners and was talk that one dress was not able to be dry cleaned(tag specified) and the other could be cleaned by being hand washed. Going from a place that looked at my dresses and told me to $70 to a nice man letting me know some soap and water would fix the mess on my dress made me very happy and saved me some money! Will be coming back for anything I need knowing that I will not be ripped off or taken advantage of. Great service!

This place has the absolute worst customer service I have ever recieved!!!! The owner (Ken) had an attitude from the beginning and it just got worse the more I tried to explain what I wanted. To the point where I was packing up my shoes to leave he turned around from walking out the back and started storming towards me shouting get out of my store, LEAVE NOW!!!! I was shaking as this is abuse and attacking someone when he was not provoked. Turns out I should have read the reviews before going in there as this seems a regular occurence. He is an abusive, grumpy old man. This place should be avoided!!!

They do great work! I bring my suits in for dry cleaning and they always come out looking very good! I also take shirts occasionally, they come out looking sharp. I also bring in my leather shoes, and they come back REVITALIZED!

I have known Ken for over 35 years and you wont find anyone better at his job anywhere in the area. He is a hard worker and cares about his work and his customers. If you are in need of shoe repair service in the Orlando area he is the best you will find.

Ive been a customer here for over 10 years mainly shoe repairs. I had a brand new Maje dress which i brought in for cleaning. When i got home i noticed small bleach spots on the side of the dress. I brought it back to Ken so they could try and fix it. After ten plus year of being a customer and bringing him new customers he insulted me and was told that those marks were mildew from perspiration. Mind you this is a brand new dress worn once with not spots or stains. He wasnt interested in rectifying to problem at all. Buyers Beware! If you have expensive clothing Do Not Take it here! He will ruin you clothes and then give you a crappy excuse for why he isnt responsible! Absolutely No accountability!

Ken has been repairing, maintaining and cleaning my familys quality leather shoes and handbags for several years. He will customize padding and sole protection so the right fit is achieved and shoes have a long lifespan. He provides excellent craftsmanship on leather goods. I highly recommend Kens work for these services.

I dont use dry cleaning services a lot, but had to get my Mardi Gras tux cleaned (you can imagine how dirty that was)....they did a great job! Cleaned promptly and thoroughly. Very nice people! Will definitely use again!

Ken has refurbished two pairs of dress shoes for me. Both jobs were exceptionally well done,at more than reasonable price and in a timely fashion. Ken is a pleasure to do business with, and I recommend him highly.

Sadly I was shocked and lost for words by the owners attitude and nasty behavior when questioning him on my shoe repair. He promptly threw my shoes in the bag and said no charge “good bye.” I was speechless. I have gone there for several years and always been so happy. Maybe he was having a bad day, but business owners should always be courteous. Needless to say I won’t be back.

One of my husbands dress shoes recently had a problem with the ribbing on the side. It cracked and came away from the shoe. He really liked the shoes and didnt want to throw them out, but didnt know if they could be repaired. Out of desperation we took them to Custom Shoe Repair on Maguire. Not only did they fix the issue, they also came back with a shine that my husband said was quite impressive! All for only $12.I wouldnt hesitate to go here for shoe repair again in the future.Update: November 2016 - we took the other shoe from the previous pair here for repair (only one required repair last time) and got the same excellent service (and shine). Wont use any other place.

Not only was the gentleman able to fix them, he also cleaned them up and made my shoes look brand new! I feel like I have two new pairs. Would recommend everytime.

First visit when I asked owner on how he can fix scuff marks on leather shoe, he said he will color it. I asked if he meant more than just shoe polish and he said yes. I asked him color in what way? and he just said he will color without being specific and replied very rudely that he had to repeat himself 3 times to me. So sorry to have inconvenienced him for making him clarify to a customer. Will not go there again. Not good customer service.

They have altered my dresses, brought my favorite shoes from the dead amd dry cleaned my king size down comforter, there is nothing they cant do!!

I brought In a 90 year old man from a nearby assisted living facility who needed some velcro replaced on his shoes. The man behind the counter told him its 3:30 and Im starving my ass off and frankly I am not fixing those shoes today. My jaw dropped to the ground because I could not believe the treatment he received. Guessing hes the owner? I promptly left with the senior because our business was not wanted. We were way too much of an inconvenience.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Owner, Ken, is very rude-acs like a bully! I was shocked this morning at Ken’s response when I asked him to twice to please re-fix the bow on a pair of flip flops he had sewn unevenly bc they were not that way when I dropped them off. He didn’t offer to help instead he yanked them off the counter, said “you want the bows fixed?” then with a “I’ll show you” attitude, stormed off to the back like a 2 year old, ripped off the threading - ripped off the bows- meanwhile I’m pleading “can I have my shoes back?!” thinking he was cutting them up- then slammed the flip flops on the counter and said “ you can take them somewhere else!” In a nasty tone. I was so stunned that my hands were shaking and could barely put my credit card in the machine to pay for other shoes. He has a short fuse, nasty temper, doesn’t care at all about customer service.. Downright bully. I left shaking and almost wanted to call the police bc it was borderline threatening behavior. I also see reviews on here that say the same thing.Horrible customer service!Looks like I’m not the only one! 😂And of course all Ken’s responses below are excuses to not deal with his aggressive behavior. No remorse. Please get anger management, Ken!

They fixed my $300 Cole Haan pumps like new! I wish I would have known about them sooner, I could have kept my shoes longer. My heals were in terrible shape, falling apart really $14 bucks and ready to get the next day was WELL worth it, will definately use them again.

1st visit and I was very pleased with the service I received. I dropped off several pair of obviously very worn shoes, and picked up shoes that looked almost new.

Work shirts continuously came back with spots on them. Brought it to the attention of the owner but instead I was given my clothes back and told to go somewhere else.

Ive gone 3x for shoe repair & each time its $11.72 & its the same repair each time. This time however I was charged more & when I asked why Ken (owner) was rude as if how dare I ask him why I was charged more, I also felt a racist undertone. Guess Im suppose to know my place & take it, pay with no question because we got into a back in forth that came outta nowhere. Wow you LOST a customer over $4 cause you want to argue and be rude for no reason.
