Theres lovely staff that always helps me out anyone else that I end up overhearing and theyre super great at childrens recommendations! They also hold some fantastic deals inside like a $1 sale that always yields some great finds.Ive been going to this place as a kid and this store has never let me down!

The place looked like it had a nice setup as it related to the organization of its comics, graphic novels and other fun stuff. However, I was also busy acquiring comics while I was there during the Free Comic Day celebration. Ill probably stop by Dr. Comics & Mr. Games one of these days. By then, I should provide a more full-fledged review.

Love this place! They have a wide selection of manga (much more than I expected) and the figures are a good price. Prize figures are mostly $25 which is amazing compared to other places!

Honestly. This deserves 5 stars. The guy working was amazing friendly and knew his stuff!! They store looked fantastic full of comics and games. A lot of game stores are either few games and lots of comics or the other way around but this was a seriously nice spot. I highly recommend to anyone thinking whether to stop by or not, DO IT! you will not regret it.

Knowledgeable staff with a wide selection of games. If they dont have the game you want, theyll order it! The window display is always beautiful. They often host community events to promote love of tabletop games! If youre on Piedmont ave, you should definitely swing by and pick up a game to play in the park.

The most stressful shopping experience Ive had shopping for comics. The coolest of the workers is the short haired caucasion girl as she tends to have a kinder and more viby tone. The asian man comes second due to not communicating with him all that much but he works hard and gets things done quick. The rest of the workers... ehhhhhhhhhhhhh, not that nice honestly. Maybe because its Wednesday but they could be kinder.

I have been frequenting this shop for my board game and comic book fix for over 20 years, this is an important staple of the Piedmont Ave neighborhood. This staff are friendly, helpful, and informative, and they always go above and beyond. They bring in new stock regularly, and will order things for you if they dont have it in stock. This is one of my favorite spots.

Ive been reading and collecting comic books for decades. This is one of those shops that all nerds will feel at home. Theyre unpretentious, friendly and non-judgmental. They have pretty much every book and graphic novel you can think of. Its a great place to browse and discover new stuff and the staff will give you enthusiastic recommendations about anything in the store. I know a lot of these specialty stores can make you feel out of place, but these guys are really genuinely friendly, albeit a bit shy sometimes - just like their customers.

I came here cause its my local game shop and wanted to support them, but honestly, they were uninformed about stuff I thought should be second nature (Games of Berkeley knew immediately what I wanted), they didnt have common gaming items in stock, and I never felt welcomed (and Im easy, I dont expect adulation) but a signal that youve been noticed goes a long way. When I was eventually approached the person seemed like it was a chore for her to be asking if I needed anything. Ill try and support them, but it felt like going to a gaming store staffed with just people earning a wage and not actual gamers. Maybe its more comic centric. I dont know.

I absolutely love this shop. The game selection here is very good and varied for how much space they can devote to tabletop games. Im not much of a comic collector but I do occasionally read graphic novels and this store has such an awesome selection of them to check out. I always leave with something I didnt expect to purchase walking in there. The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable about everything he sells. So go nerd out with him and pick up something cool that you didnt even know you needed in your life.

This place was heaven for me. They almost had every comics that I could think of. Staffs were so easy to approach and personable too. I would visit again for sure.

If I lived closer, I’d come to this shop regularly. They almost always have what I need. Plenty of back issue stock, and an impressive array of comic related merch. I can always count on this store being comfortable to shop, and clean.

They have a large selection that is pretty good. I can never seen to find recent back issues because theyre not ducked with the new releases, but maybe thats just my fault. Game selection is okay. Not as good as a dedicated game store, but way better than Target or other department stores. Lots of geeky gift items and collectibles. Employees are very nice!

Dr. Mr. is a neighborhood institution, with walls full of comics of all types (big two, image and other smaller pubs, indie, manga...), from new releases to back issues to trades. They also have a strong games (as you might guess from the name). Their staff are friendly and as a team can help recommend something based on what you like/are looking for, and are happy to tell you what theyve been reading/playing if you ask. Highly recommended.

I collect manga, best selection of manga in the bay area. Parking can be tricky come early when the store first opens. Lots of figures, graphic novels, comic, and other geek stuff

Very informed and helpful customer service. Really enjoyed my time. They also have a fantastic after school program for kids. It is a role-playing and tutoring program for the age range of 12-18. Great opportunity for a diversified experience for student.

Quite a diverse offering. They will set aside your favorites for you to collect in your own folder if you ask, and special order merchandise for you.There is a board game playtime upstairs during certain hours.They have a prime spot in the middle of Piedmont avenue, one of Oaklands most attractive commercial districts so you can do lots of other kinds of shopping on the same trip.Ive been a regular for many years and my kids will be too.
