Chilton puts the customer first every step of the way. They think about timing and what would be best for you. They have a whole department to help you get resolution with insurance. They also give text updates and give you calls to understand the progress. They also did a good job on the work as far as we can tell now. I’m so grateful we weren’t sent here because insurance was terrible to us and they helped us.
This is the most professional auto repair shop I have ever visited and its services are of the highest quality. The staff is very customer oriented and communications, both in person and after you leave the shop, are excellent. It was easy to make an appointment, pleasant to drop off the car and get a ride home, and wonderful to see the great job they did fixing up my car.
My car was involved in an accident and was sent to Chilton for repairs. My car looks like it was ever hit and it looks awesome. Professional and amazing customer service. Kept me informed step by step until completion and pick up. Very pleased.
I was connected to this autobody shop by my insurance company, and they were nothing but the most professional and easy to work with. From being ready for me at my appointment time with my rental car (also shout out to Enterprise!) to sending regular text updates and clarifying questions I had about the estimate both by email and text (really just a reflection of my limited knowledge of car parts), I deeply appreciated how communicative and transparent they were about the repairs that needed to be done and also about the progress at various steps with updated estimates for pick up. Though I hope to not have any future car issues, I definitely would use them again!
They got my car back to me a few days ahead of schedule! And they did an impressive job with the work. The car rental was also very convenient. If you have Geico, this place is a no-brainer. Would definitely come here again.
They took 2 whole weeks to repair a little damage on the back bumper. Besides the long time I had to wait when I came to pick up my car it had scratches all over (trunk, roof) it had a dent on the car hood and stains all over. Seemed they did not polished it well. I was asked to take it back in a couple of days for them to fix the damages they did to my car. it’s the time 2 days after I returned my car and I have not gotten Communication about when my car will be done. I had to call twice today to see what was going on. I’ve spent a lot of money using Uber and all the inconvenience that represents not to have a car. I even asked for them to rent a car for me to use in the meantime and they said they don’t cover for that. Why should I spend more money for something they did? For damages they did to my car? I need someone to take responsibility for this
Chilton CARSTAR worked with Carvana and their partner to polish up my new car - it looks amazing! All the shallow surface scratches it was delivered with are gone! 5 stars for quality and quick sercice. I only removed a star for communication. They did not text me with a timeline estimate the day I dropped it off as they said they would, and when I called them two days later to check on it, it was done, and no one had let me know. Would probably still use them in the future though as my car looks great.
Even though parts took a while, they did a great job on communication. They updated me every other day which was nice. Got my car and was very satisfied with the entire job.

The repair to my bumper was fine. The communication could have been better, but the big thing behind the 1-star review is that they damaged the leather on my dashboard!A cover was loose when I brought the car in and someone tried to press it in place incorrectly and the plastic edge of the cover dug into the leather edge and pushed it loose from the dashboard in two places.I brought the car in and the manager looked at it and said We would have no reason to touch that area of the car. Exactly what I was thinking - why was someone messing with that? But someone did.Then hes looking at photos of the car which were taken when it was brought in. The leather in the area in question looks flat to me, but its hard to say because he was zooming in and it wasnt great resolution.He says it shows existing issue, at least in one spot so theyre not taking responsibility at all.Dont bring your car here unless you want ancillary damage to your car and have Chilton claim it was like that when you brought it in.

My Model 3 was scratched in a parking lot, the kind staff at CarStar Chilton took care of everything, worked with my insurance and got it fixes up quickly. Incredibly easy and they did a great job!
While I was away on vacation, my friend who was housesitting backed into a pole and damaged my car. Carstar did a beautiful job fixing the damage and youd never know anything happened. They also finished things up a day ahead of schedule and handled the pickup and return of the rental car I was using while my car was in the shop. Top notch service all around.

Brought my civic in through Geico. A snowplow hit my car (I moved from Chicago...)and I needed to repair both doors on the drivers side. They got it done in a week, and washed and vacuumed my car. It looks wonderful! Very polite and friendly staff. Also, price was reasonable considering the work and time put in. Definitely recommend this shop!
They did body work on my car, the repairs took too long. The part they replaced didnt fit right and all they said was sorry to talk to my insurance. I would NEVER recommend this place.

I would give them zero starts but this system wont let me. My wife and I showed up at 4:15 pm to turn my car in, which I had prearranged, and the lady I spoke to had an attitude, would not accept my car, took a bunch of pictures for her adjuster and asked for the registration. I have worked with Auto body shops multiple times in the past and have never had someone be so rude to me and ask for my registration. The turn in was arranged by my insurance company and confirmed by my wife. Because of this I took my business elsewhere and spoke with my insurance company and told then not to send business there either. This is such a shame because I have had business with them in the past but did not recognize anyone there when I showed up this time. They also sent my wife into a dark and empty office and no one came to talk to her.

This was my 2nd time returning to this shop in Oakland. I expected more quality but felt I sent my car though a Mc Dondalds drive thru. Ask for work that got no attention. They were more interested in speeding my cat through w/o care.
Rude clerk. Didnt even try to help me. The clerk had me out the shop before I could even explain my situation.
I took my moms car here because my dad didnt see the garage door and now the Honda Accord 2014 need a new fender. Anyways Andy took great care of us by replacing the fender in 3 days. Boy my mom was thrilled when she picked her car and she said they even detailed her car. Awesome!

The service was casual yet excellent. They run a busy, busy, efficient bee hive over there. I was also pleased with the quality of the body work.
The work done was good, but the service and communication was awful. When I brought it in for an estimate, I was told the work would be done in 4 days. After I brought the car in, I did not receive any communication on the status of the car. When I called on day 3, I was told that it would not be done until day 5. When I called on day 5, I was told it would not be done until day 9. When I called on day 9, they were actually irritated and said, Well call you when its ready. They called me 40 minutes before they closed. How is someone supposed to plan to get a car with 40 minutes notice? This really messed up my schedule for a whole week. People are not friendly and not communicative.
Poor customer service. I put my car over 1 month. They change 4 times of my estimated date. And they send messages to me for pick up, after I get there, they told me need more day for fix. I never see the shop like that. I never return.
The customer services are rude and lack of training to the auto repair skills. They broke they promiseand refuse to priovde service to the customer. Always excuse after excuse and passing around the duty.Their internal program call Perfect 10 is only for surface looking instead for doing the real audit on theircompany. There is no improvement within this Perfect 10 rating program after reaching them. I boughtmy car to this auto body the shop for repair. It come out to be very disappionted to me because thedamage parts have not been fully repair but they are charging for the fully prices. The waiting time isextremly long, I have been waiting from the morning to the afternoon is just for scheduling anappointment.Friendly reminder: Record the interior and exterior of your car before handling over to auto repair shop.Check it carefully and be wisely to choose the shop.
Very poor customer service. They had my car for three weeks. Poor communication and no updates throughout the process. They take customers for granted and seem uninterested in providing quality service. You feel unwelcomed when you walk through the door. This unhappy customer will not return.
Over the last 2 months, I experienced an unfortunate situation with my car. My brother had recently used Chilton for his autobody needs and suggested I try them for mine. Throughout the entire experience, Chilton Autobody was phenomenal! Every employee I dealt with was always friendly and helpful, which is much appreciated as this can all be very confusing and its hard to find people you can trust or good customer service these days. From day 1, Bobby Carter at Chilton in Oakland was my trusted advisor and the customer service I experienced was exceptional! I pulled in to the auto body shop frantic over what was going on with my car and he immediately put me at ease and never once rushed me or lost his patience with me. He let me ask ALL my questions and answered them thoughtfully and thoroughly and it allowed me to fully understand what was going on. This is NOT my area of expertise, but it is extremely important to have as much information as you can and I am so thankful for the good folks at Chilton taking such good care of their customers. I will never go anywhere else for my autobody needs and I want to ensure I highly recommend this exceptional business to others who have those needs! They have now had my Honda Accord for two weeks just to install a passenger side window that other glass companies install in half a day. No one calls to update you on the status and/or that they have to hold on to the car for another week.
Chiton body work was not done right I had a long scratch they slopped on bondo painted it the flake did not match and now Im gonna take my car elsewhere.Gieco seen the crappy work and is goona redo my car the right way .
