I got several quotes for a replacement awning and frame repair that runs along the side of my pool deck. It is a HUGE awning and no simple job. From the moment I met Sam I knew his company was the right choice for the job. Rarely do you meet people who are passionate about their work but Sam is. Small project was handled with speed and eagerness. When other canvas businesses seemed less then enthusiastic, this business took the order on a Friday afternoon and had the piece finished the following Tuesday for less money then the other two places I looked into. Sam the owner of Sunshine Awning is a thief, lier, and scam artist.He will take all your money and never fix your awing. He will do half the work and everything will continue to break then charge you for his incompetence. we have been trying to get our awning fixed for years and nothing from Sam but him taking our money. NEVER use his services

Update:Our awning has been completed - after we got in touch with the BBB and complained, they showed up Thanksgiving morning which threw me off unexpectedly to complete it. Sad to say it took a review through the BBB to have a job completed. There are areas where it really just shows they dont care, the burned welding spots on the structural frame shouldve been covered, they removed a patio paver and now I have a hole in my ground that they did not repair (previous awning company 10+ years ago just drilled into the ground not needing to remove a paver), and there is a rusted spot on the previous structure that they didnt repair either.Although I am happy to finally be done in a sense and not have to deal with this company any longer. I am not the happiest with the outcome of details that are very much noticeable, it is better than what it was - I will give them that, but they show the lack of care through their work.** Old original post **It is interesting to say the least that there is decent reviews on this company but a terrible review of the BBB and I understand why. We hired this company back in September and Sam has came out and consulted our awning, sounds great, sounded very confident itd be getting done quickly and efficiently. Our awning, mind you, is not a commercial size awning - its a residential back porch awning, not large at all - and its a restoring job, not a startup.Since being hired and leaving a deposit of a few grand, it has been the most difficult task to get ahold of him and when we do, there is always an excuse to why he hasnt gotten the work done. I get it, Ive lived in Florida my whole life - I understand the weather and when it is bad. But when we have consistent days of sunny weather, and there is a job that is quick and being told that his workers will be here multiple times and dont show up and never get notified to why - you will lose your patience very fast. He eventually sent out two guys who were here for not even an hour to just cut off half of my awning and now it sun blasts straight into my home and that was in the beginning of October. Since then, there has been no work of improvement. We have tried to call to cancel the job and have a refund of the deposit back due to the lack of communication and work that hasnt been shown and have yet heard from him because he does not answer. It has been now two months since hiring him and all we received is a jacked up awning from them sawing it down the middle in half, leaving us worse than the beginning.Anyone that considers hiring them, do yourself a favor, do your research and if this company is your last resort youd probably be better off doing a DIY awning because its more promising that youd have a project completed.

Sam was great he gave me a price and told me to get another Price and I did his price was the best and he did not even ask for any deposit .he finished the job 5 days before time. I will recommend him to all my friends for any canvas work.

Fast and great service, I contacted Sam the owner on a Wednesday for a 15 by 20 canopy that I needed installed by Saturday of the same week for my birthday party and sure enough, that Saturday at 8:30 am the canopy and the installers and Sam himself were in my back yard working and by noon the canopy was up, thank you for the great service and I will contact and recommend Sunshine Awning for any future projects

We were pricing a new Awning for our new business in Fort Lauderdale. We are on a budget and Sunshine Awning & Canvas gave us the lowest price. They did a fantastic job from beginning to end. They used Sunbrella Canvas and from what I understand that is the best quality. We are very happy with the job and would highly recommend them.
