Came in needing a bolt and nut for my bush hog. Young man behind the counter was very helpful. He sized it up and got exactly what I needed. I was able to only buy one which was perfect as I didn’t need a whole bag.If you ever need bolts for your tractor, mower, car, etc. Don’t waste your time going to other stores, just come to the fastenal here in clinton. Very smart staff.

Went by to purchase some screws and they have a pink sign up that says they are only open from 7:30-8:30 and 12:00-3:00.I guess business is really good when you only have to open for a total of 4 hours a day.It is no wonder everyone is mail-ordering everything nowadays!

Went in to get some screws for a project I was working on, and a large man came out and asked me if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for, and he asked if I had a sample to look at. I said I didnt, but I thought Id recognize what I needed when I saw it. He gave me an exasperated look and said Im not going to spend thirty minutes of my time looking through all those bins to help you find it! I asked if I could look for it myself, and he said We only sell boxes and walked off into the back.I spent a few minutes looking, determined they didnt have what I needed anyway and left. I know they sell mostly to businesses and he probably thought I was just a guy looking for a couple screws so he didnt have to worry about being rude to me. What he didnt know is that Im a Mechanical Engineer working on a project that will probably require several hundred each of several different sizes of screws, and that I may have other similar projects in the future. In any case, its bad business to treat any customer that way!I gave them two stars because they do have a decent (but by no means comprehensive) selection of fasteners and the one other time Ive been there they were reasonably polite. If I ever go there again (doubtful) and have a better experience I may alter this review!
