K&F International Market at 9 Mile is really the BEST place to shop and I have been shopping there for the past 6 years with no regrets. The staff are customer friendly and you will always leave fulfilled. Thanks to the management for their hospitality. Keep it up.

Great place to find West Indian stuff. Sadly its common for things to be out of stock.

Sign says they close at 7pm. More than once I have arrived at this store before 7pm and they are closed or driving away. That is terrible customer service. I wish there was a Jamaican owned store around. Jamaicans would never close early, or see you trying to buy before 7pm and just drive away. Terrible customer service. This has happened more than once. I guess it’s their policy. Close when they feel like it.P.S. I’m so happy now that K and F did that to me more than once. I just discovered a newly opened market in Southfield owned by a lovely couple from the home land Ghana 🇬🇭 They have everything Jamaican and all African products. This is one of the best international stores and one of the cleanest. The staff is great also on several occasions I have seen them going above and beyond their duty and thats something that a lot of people dont notice but I have noticed I dont have any problem going here and spending my money and now during the pandemic they have taken precautionary measures as well and I appreciate that...Im really missing my Jamaican beef patties hopefully theyll get some soon 😁

They have spices that are unheard of in western cooking. If you want to be adventurous come here.

Ive chosen to shop at smaller specialty grocery stores. Ive found that people are more intentional about being courteous and following the necessary new guidelines. I went here because I wanted some salt fish, all out but I was advised next week they will have. I was able to purchase other items that Im definitely unable to find at the large stores. This store caters to the African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern community and those whose palates enjoy food from those regions. Customer service is important to me and its apparent that its important to the owners as well.

The market has everything u need for Caribbean staples. This is the first time buying sea moss here. I asked a few times to make sure the product is not manufactured fake. I asked for wild crafted from ocean. This is not that. Very disappointing. This product has 0 health benefits

First time visit here, was very excited to get some Caribbean items. I was thinking of a bigger place, but you can find a bit of Caribbean and African items for your everyday cooking.

I’m from Ohio so I drove out with my mom,aunt, sister and sister in law. When we got into the store first thing was there’s no price tags on anything. We asked on big white man how much was for an avocado he yelled hold on with out acknowledge that we said something and went behind the counter to start cashing out people. All of the people working there was the most unprofessional. When we finally got finish and up to the register we went to the man we asked for help my aunt ask how much for the avocado he told her an I quote”cheap cheap” my aunt said I didn’t ask how cheap it was how much was it and he told her “2.99” for 1 avocado. It seem this place is making up prices as it goes cause I never heard of a avocado being so expensive but the way they went around helping customer is sad and unprofessional and I won’t be going back. Honestly if I could give no stars they would have gotten it on a first impression.

The banga spice I bought expired in less than a week, I drove all the way from Ohio and so I’m unable to return and get an exchange. The store is good with a lot of variety, but I’d appreciate some transparency or warning about expired products.

Nice market and great prices! I havent been in a while but my husband,who is a Yoruba man, and I used to shop here all the time. This store has everything youre looking for to cook your delicious African dishes and a variety of meats to choose from. Cant wait to come back and do my grocery shopping.

Good variety. I always find what I need. Prices are much better than the one in Inkster, and the store is larger too.

Very pleasant always willing to go the extra mile to help you with what you need. One day I was there and got sick my blood sugar was very low and right away one of the lady got me a drink and staid with me until I felt better. Recomend that store to a lot of people 😁

Affordable African market, you will find typically most West African food at K&F.

They have a lot of African produce. This is my go to place for beef, chicken, fish, plantains and everything in between. Great selection of items and the staffs are friendly too. Sunday afternoons are usually very busy at this location.

You can find a large variety of African and Mediterranean foods at this store. Staff not so friendly and welcoming. The staff lack service training. The store is well stocked. Limitted parking for such a busy store. Irregular working hours on weekends and holidays. Cleanliness has to be addressed

A little disappointed this is basically the only store to provide African and Caribbean groceries in the Detroit area. Store owners are super friendly. Hoping they can provide more Caribbean products such as cho cho, fresh herbs like bay leaf, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, etc.

Fantaskic unusual items ive been seeking

The owner used to be very very nice. But not anymore. Anytime I strike up a conversation with him or asks a question. He always answers curtly like he doesn’t want to be bothered!I’m hoping an African opens a more central location soon, so that I can boycott this place. Their food items are also becoming more expensive. A little increase on each product tends to add up fast on your bill at checkout. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Check expiration dates! They have a variety of African food products but I have come across beyond expiration products more than once. They didnt seem alarmed or concerned.

But there are other places too where customers are respected and listened too. I bought a gari labeled “ijebu gari” but it was something else. My friend tasted it and she said it is Ghana gari, which I dont even know. But it was horrible! The owner and staffs don’t eat gari so they won’t know the product. Unfortunately when you tried to let them know, they will be on the defensive, a specially that lady always there ( their Aunty), they think that you want your money back or you are lying even though you are not returning the product or asking them for any exchange. The lady (the aunt to the owner of the store) can be very rude and disrespectful to customers . They used to be okay but since they now have a big number of customers, they think people can not walk away if they get disappointed. Sorry, you will be surprised before you know. Listen to the consumers of the product that you don’t know or eat! Respect your customers a specially the ones who are honest and that you for a very long time. Customers care is very important to any business.

Lady behind the counter always has on gloves like dealing with customers are dirty and it seems offensive. They are selling bleaching cream, promoting dangerous habits to meet lighter complexion? The store isn’t owned and run by Africans.

Horrible customer service ever. Be careful buying rice there. The rice I bought there was very funny looking. When cooked it was still funny looking. I have been cooking rice half of my life I know what it looks like, this one looked like plastic. I took it back to the store, they wouldnt return or exchange it and basically told me to get lost. With all the fake rice being sold now a days, you would think they would investigate a little more instead of sending the customer away. And make sure you check the expiration date on whatever you puchase because they do keep expired merchandises on the shelves.

I believe the times posted for Sundays should be adjusted. Ive been there twice, both times on a Sunday, before the supposed closing time of 4PM and they were closed, both times. Do you have any idea how annoying that is?! Not to mention the gas and time wasted to get here?!! Please get yall act together.
