Not sure if 4 visits to this shop over the course of 2 years qualifies me as a frequent flyer but this is my go to place for accordions. First 2 visits were for accessories and repairs for a borrowed accordion. Last summer I purchased a previously owned accordion from this shop. Renee has always been so helpful and practical with her service suggestions. Today I stopped in to have markings placed on some of my bass buttons. Again, excellent service from Renee. Fun to see Mike working on repairs in the front of the shop. Love my accordion and I highly recommend this shop.
Loved this place! Brought in an old family accordion. Renee took it apart and assessed it for us and also gave us a brief history of the make / model. She knows her stuff and did this all for free - will definitely be back here to repair and service my normal accordion - thank you!!
The service was so friendly, fast, and affordable! I have a small 1950s 12-button LoDuca Bros accordion - it was purchased for $50 at a yard sale! I knew it would need a bit of work at some point, but I did about 60 performances with it before I as able to research where to take it. I called ahead but didnt get an answer so just chanced taking the 40 minute drive out to Oak Lawn. Renae at the front desk was just wonderful - so personable and friendly, taking it apart immediately to have a look. I knew it needed a replacement latch on the bottom (easy replacement!), and Renae found that some of the keyboard reeds were leaking air (another simple, quick fix!). To-boot, she cleaned the entire instrument, inside and out, and put a backpad on it! Its like a new instrument! All of this while I waited and looked around and played some of their beautiful instruments. I hope to go back to get a bass strap when they get them in. This is literally the only place to go in the Chicago area for accordion service, so its just wonderful that the service is so lovely and affordable!
Brought in my Pokerwork for a little attention on Saturday and they took care of it as best as they could while we tried some other boxes. in a couple hors the job was done. we meet a couple the young fellas too and got some history of this fine old company at the same time, ... so if I live long enough ... I’ll be back to pick up up one of those Slovenians ... Tom in Mequon, Wisconsin.
The best experience I’ve ever had at a store! She was so sweet, insanely quick (fixed the problem in under 30 minutes), and knew exactly what she was doing!
Very nice folks. They fixed my dads 15 year old 34 button Gabanelli accordion. I drove an hour and 40 minutes from Rockford for them to fix it. I would recommend.
I so, so appreciate Italo-American. As an accordionist, I dont know what I would do without them. Buying my instruments and having them service them is well worth the long drive for me. Theyre knowledgeable, honest, give superb customer service and are so passionate about what they do. Theyre unique in a world where this kind of dedication and craftsmanship are all too rare.
Cordial, professional, exceptional service from start to finish. My big, vintage accordion was thoroughly and skillfully tested in my presence, after which I was offered two options: leave the instrument at the shop OR wait for it . . . thats right, an immediate repair! I couldnt believe it! Of course, I waited, and the repairs took a whopping 10 minutes. I am not easily impressed, but this place--and these people--really did the job! For any kind of accordion service or repair, trust me, you will NOT be disappointed here. : )
They did a fabulous job rebuilding my 60s vintage accordian. Plays and sounds new
My grandson wants to learn to play the accordion but I didnt want to buy one online. Italian American was suggested by my local music shop. Took both my grandsons to the store. They were both thrilled by the number of accordions. They were able to try some out. The owner was so helpful and patient. We found the right one for him. Well go back for my other grandson. What a gem of a place.
The best place to service your accordion, pompi and renee are experts in the field
Great service. Owners were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Very quick service, under an hour. Decent prices as well
Awesome Place Remember Buying my First Used Accordion Their a Gabbanelli 2 Tone about 14 Years Ago. Remember Ann the Lady at the front Desk always helpful and Pomp the Repair Guy Awesome People to work with. I Still Go today for Repairs Only. As For Accordion Purchase Im a Gabbanelli Guy but Awesome Monterrey Accordions as for Pricing on Repairs not bad at all If you want your accordion to Sound Good You have to Pay for it. A lot of People dont understand that Accordions are a Living Art and maintenance should be priority. Highly Recommended #squeezebox16
