A nice grocery store that has some things that you cant find anywhere else

Great place to shop. Seems to have most the things I need that the comissary doesnt carry.

Good staff. Easily located what I came for.

Stopped to stock up on supplies. Good parking for the RV and easy pull out to get back underway. Deli has made to order sandwiches and many other choices. Full grocery store with quality items

Went there for COVID booster. Pharmacy did a good job but there are a gazillion people there and LOTS of folks without masks. Even a couple of workers were without or wearing below the nose. I was going to shop for food while waiting out the side-effect timeout but just too many white men and their Karens with Trump hats and no masks. Wow. Very scary scene. I wont be back!

This store seemed like it had nice employees, our checker was super sweet. Actually acknowledged us. The store needs a remodel

Out of all grocery places in Oak Harbor these guys have in my opinion the best deals and the lines go fairly quick. Customer service is great. If you have any problems. Find Thomas. Thats the dude haha

This store is very convenient for people that dont have a car. If you watch the prices and Just4u then you can pretty much compare it to Albertsons. I would have given four stars because, in general, the staff is very good. Except for the deli....they really need an attitude check. Unverified dogs are a constant sore spot with me. Put on your big boy pants and leave your bloody pet at home. Do you really think they like to be in an enclosed noisy space with a lot of people? Check your prices as I always have a problem with the self checkout not posting the sale price.

Safeway is clean, constantly stocking shelves and providing excellent customer service. Recently found several products i was unable to find at any other grocers in Oak Habor.

Place be always bustling but the folks there always hustling - my girl send me in with no backup but my sick rhymes and my sidekicks - yes my kids come in and take a while, my journeys up and down the aisles, but this place meet all my needs and soon a Starbucks (people please!) So I gotta leave my 5 stars though its hard to find my own car its still the place I love to go (though it was crazy because of snow!)- Tbone, out.

Ive always liked Safeway, its my go to grocery store. Much like most Safeways.

Store is always clean organized and well-stocked staff is always friendly and helpful anytime you need anything.

Always get my groceries here. 1 morning I had to do laundry and was low on detergents. When I got there I realized I forgot my club card lol and Im big on savings & getting them good deals. So I was a bit bumped but the cashier that helped me took out her club card & said thats alright sweetie lets save yu a couple bucks here. She totally did not need to do that. All cashiers are super nice & helpful. Ive had numerous incidents were I needed help and left satisfied with the service!

Nice and quiet on a Sunday morning. Produce section was fully stocked with great selection. Meat department was putting out fresh cuts. Was in and out getting everything on my list in less than 30 minutes.

The guy working the self serve was very helpful and courteous.

The cashier was great. The floor staff, not so much. I have to use one of their carts when I shop, and several times I had to stop moving for an employee who saw me and then cut me off.If the management sees this, I do not appreciate being treated like Im not there. Im not the only one I see it with.Other than that, on that extremely busy day, I got everything that I needed, the cashier was great, and I didnt even have to ask for help to get my groceries to the car.

Nice a clean store... have pretty much what you need.... they just really need to work on their pricing...

I always love shopping at the oak harbor safeway. Best meat department I do have to say.

Decent variety of items. Produce and meat are great quality and prices are competitive for the area. Clean facility. Sometimes product displays are placed in isles or places in a way that directs cart traffic into a pinch point (especially around the butcher area) but otherwise a nice place to stop.

On December 15, 7-8pm. My boyfriend and I have been using pick up and go during our quarantine. The other day it was close to when my order was supposed to be ready but it wasn’t yet. I figured I would still go over just to see if hopefully it would be done before they close up for the day, because many of the items we really needed. Toilet paper, soap, etc. we were completely out of these. I called and immediately whoever was filling orders and picking up calls was annoyed by me asking about the order. I asked if she thought I should wait until tomorrow to put in another order, or wait at the store. And she went off on me. She said “if you want me to just stop filling your order stop working on everything and just put it all back I will cancel your order now. I can’t tell you when and if your order will be done you’re just gonna have to wait and the longer I spend on the phone talking with you the longer I’m not working on YOUR order. I’ve been here since 4am, and I am trying to get these done. You need to wait until you are notified for instructions online, or I’ll just cancel your order. Ma’am.” Which ma’am was not said politely or kindly. It went on for a long time, but that was the gist of it. I was looking to put in a formal complaint with Safeway to write up the whole conversation, etc. also long story short our order was cancelled about 30 minutes later, before they were even done with pick up and go for the night. We had put in our order 9 hours earlier. I’m somewhat glad it was cancelled so we can take our business somewhere else. We won’t be going back to Safeway, and we would rather drive off island.

Always a pleasure to stop by with kids. Great customer service and better ice cream.

I really like their fruit, veggies and seafood. I can usually find everything I need there. I did notice today people not using arrows for traffic but it was ok.

My favorite grocery store always awesome!

This is by far the worst Safeway Ive been to in terms of merchandise supply. The employees have always been friendly, and kind but Everytime I shop there they are out of so many items. Also one of the smallest Safeways Ive ever seen.

The cashiers are helpful and pleasant, some know us by name. The meat department is always well stocked and the produce is 100× better than the commissary. I much prefer my experience shopping here than Cosco or any where else. My favorite thing is that they carry a large variety of Organic foods and they are east to find, always in the same place.Also Safeway has a wide variety of ethnic and cultural foods, from Mexican, to Asaian and Indian which makes menu planning a delight. I give them 5 stars everytime

Surprisingly busy for a state on lockdown, but it was the day before a holiday. They did, at the time I visited, have everything I needed, and the staff were super friendly and helpful!! Every single store employee I encountered wished me a happy holiday which was amazing. No retail grumpiness here!!

Good selection of fresh meat. Always a line but not bad compared to other grocery stores around the area.

Only bad thing I can think of is parking and thats because everyone else likes the store too.lol what are you gonna do. I do wish they had military discounts, like alot of stores in oak harbor have. Always have good service there. Have a good day

It seems to look better every visit, staff is lively and helpful.

In store experience is usually pretty good. Instacart delivery is also usually pretty good. Curbside pickup is atrocious. I would rather take all four of my kids (ages 5 and under) shopping than use their curbside. At least then I might come away with extra items rather than fewer. Missing items, poor substitutions, delays...yesterday they sent us a delay notice, then waited six hours (until kid bedtime) to say “you have two hours to pick up your order,” then flat out gave our order to someone else and had us wait in the car for an hour while they shopped again...still forgetting items, making poor substitutions, etc. Enough is enough; I will be using Hagen for curbside. DO NOT USE FOR GROCERY PICKUP!

I love my Safeway. Good Produce, Good Service, Good Selection. There arent any Caribbean Style Foods (barely) and the beef is expensive but thats everywhere in the PNW except The Navy Commisary but oh well haha

On a Friday night they decided to close ALL of the 6 self checkout stations and leave only 3 cash regesters open. The lane i got in was closed after 3 customers went through so there were 3 isles of 7 people (a total of at least 21 people) trying to purchase their items with ONLY 2 cash registers open. I waited in like for an hour and because my lane closed i had to try to merge into another lane. I dont understand why they think that 2 cash regesters with 2 people bagging items is better than 1 regester with 1 person supervising all 6 of the self checkouts. This isnt rocket science Safeway NEEDS to get their sh!t together because this was NOT ok. I am done with going there after 5.

Why do they never have 1/2 the things on my shopping list? Today the most annoying example was chicken thighs. Just plain, ordinary chicken thighs! Arrrgh!

Better than the Walmart in the same parking lot

Safeway is Oak Harbors best grocery store. Staff ard great. Especially a closing stocker/cashier (w/a cool beard) who always puts a smile on my face.

They need more checkouts open or need to put in more with the amount of foot traffic they have. Also more food option for other brands. Theyre one of the bigger food places and more varieties would be better.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic I had a terribly difficult time finding time to go grocery shopping without my toddler who is too young to wear a mask. Safeway introduced the drive up and go option and it absolutely changed my life. But the shining star of this program is Jessie.I have had the pleasure of having Jessie bring my groceries out on more than one occasion and she a ray of sunshine and an unbelievably hard worker. She makes the effort to converse with me and always has a smile on her face, even on days like today when she is swamped with orders.Jessie thank you for making my experience with grocery pick up so enjoyable!

Cashiers response was thats what the machine told me to give you didnt even care to look at the receipt or ask why there was an improper money refund. Same day different person .... Customer service guy...wow.. heres another issue same day. Asked for 3 lotto 3 mega. Gave me 2 in each game there is. Not a whole lot of caring or listening going on in this store.

Great fruit and vegetable selection. Friendly employees. Must get card to participate ln most discounts...its worth it. Quick & easy.

The only issue I have is just they run out quickly at times on some items. But that is not their fault.

Dropped 2 stars for customer service and for an employee following me around to make their statement clear without wearing a mask I.went to Safeway last night around 11:30 I had a handful of snacks 3 kids what snacks I accidentally dropped a strawberry parfait I let the nearest person working know that I had dropped it, she then told me to start picking up the fruit I said start picking up the fruit with what I stood around not knowing what to do then she walked over to the mess and starts yelling at me to start picking up the fruit that shes not my maid, I asked her if she was serious she said she was and that one of the kids could start cleaning up the mess and I need to stop treating her like a maid I walked off from the confrontation went up to the nearest clerk a really nice guy ask him if there was a manager, she comes following me with no mask on yelling at me telling him that I was treating her like a maid. I got a hold of the store manager today told him what had happened ask him to review it on his cameras because she was way out of line. He apologized told me thats not how they work Ive always loved Oak Harbor Safeway but dang. I forgotten to mention that I had told her that it was hard for me to bend over and pick up stuff and use my arms cuz I had a double mastectomy and Im going through physical therapy to strengthen myself and she told me I could have had one of the kids pick it up.

Ill give it a 4 but the pick-up portion needs help keeping the scheduled time you apply for online. Had to wait a whole extra hour. I know they are busy but if you cant do same day pick-up and you put in advance would be nice to have it ready to go.

Good store to shop in

Waited at the pharmacy for 30 minutes for a flu shot! If they can’t service people then they shouldn’t offer the service. They were nice once they did help us!

Not too crowded, found everything I needed at a great low price, staff was very friendly and helpful. Ill keep this place as my most used shopping store.

This is not such a bad place to go grocery shopping but omg, to whoevers in charge of this place, can you PLEASE hire some more cashiers?!?!? It is impossible to get in there, pick up something quick and just get out. Dont even get me started with the parking.

Love the quality/price you get at this store.... Ive also received great customer service and was up here tonight, went through the checkout line and had completely forgotten my wallet, which Id accidentally left at home. I was so embarrassed and had to run home to get it... They were all very nice and helpful about it, and even put my groceries in the beer fridge to stay cold. Glad they were so nice about it! ... The staff is amazing but there seem to be a couple of really aggressive customers. Was verbally assaulted in the parking lot and have heard the same crazy woman screaming in the store a few times-- she doesnt work there, but wish they had a way of banning her but realize its a bit difficult to do.
