APA is a wonderful organization that goes above and beyond dance lessons! They have tons of extras kids can enjoy and really make it an enjoyable community experience!! Five stars hands down!

I’m happy that my daughter has enjoyed her time at APA. She has been doing dance with APA for 3 years now and always looks forward to going to her lessons. My daughter has been attending this dance studio since she was 2....she is now 8! She still loves it and has amazing teachers! She has grown leaps and bounds this past year in her dancing skills.

Initially I wanted a shorter dance class to see if my daughter even liked dance before we committed to anything longer and saw an ad about a mini session at APA. (She was 4 or 5 then) She loved it and could even dance on stage in a real show. It was a great way to introduce dancing to her without a ton of commitment. Since then we have done another mini session, a summer camp, and now we do dance once a week all school year long. The costume prices are reasonable (APA does a great job showing costs up front), the makeup (costume and hair too) expectations are appropriate and she is having fun. This year especially I think they are handling the challenges with Covid so well, it really is a testament to how professional, caring, and positive they are.

We enjoy the variety of dances being offered. I’ve been dancing for 7 years here and I love everything about it. I’ve made many bonds through the studio, not only dancers but many teachers to. I’ve been taught so much and I thank the studio for that.

My daughter recently started tap/ballet at APA. She instantly fell in love with the class, her focus has improved and her confidence has grown. She is so incredibly proud of herself and her accomplishments each week! She also loves her teacher and we do as well. She is patient and thoughtful in all the different ways she teaches this groups of 3-4 year olds. She brings in props and activities to teach them the techniques they need to learn. We absolutely lobe it so far and can’t wait for their program in the spring/summer!

My daughter has a lot of energy at age 2.5, and this is her first experience in a class setting. She was so amazing and helpful. Not to mention the patience of a saint! My daughter has been taking piano at APA for almost 2 years now. Her teachers have been great. She loves going and she’s learned so much already. They have a recital twice a year which is fun for the family’s to come and watch. Great place for lessons, would definitely recommend.

Ms. Amy has been an exceptional first dance teacher to help my daughter become more independent and to love dance even more than she already does. We moved to the area two years ago. When searching for a new dance studio Academy of Performing Arts stood out to me right away with all they have to offer but mainly their modesty policy. Since attending, we have been nothing but impressed. The quality of teaching technique, the grace and patience, and the never ending smile of encouragement have been impressive and appreciated.

My daughter has been dancing at The Academy of Performing Arts for 5yrs. She has been able to learn tap, ballet, hip-hop, poms, and is now part of their competition team. My son was also able to take a hip-hop class when he was 4yrs old. All the teachers are great at what they do, and are very friendly. The winter and spring showcases are so organized, and such a treat to see. They hold a high standard for dancing. I would recommend this studio to anyone who is wanting to get their child in dance. They have many other services too, from acting, to guitar lessons, to preschool.

I recently signed my 3 year old daughter up for dance class. She has never taken a dance class before, and we start next week. Coming from a mom who has ZERO experience in the dance world, I have been so impressed with the patience and care that the staff have already shown with both my daughter and myself. Trisha answered all of my questions, gave my excited daughter a tour and fitted her shoes when we went into scope it out. She spoke with my daughter in a loving, age appropriate way that matched the excitement she was showing. My son Gavin has been attending The Academy of Performing Arts since they first opened. He loves dancing and he loves how caring and friendly the staff are. He was asked to join two other dance schools but turned them down. He did not want to leave The Academy. He started in ballet/jazz, then went to boys hip hop. Now he is on the competitive dance team. He has gained a lot of confidence and the ability to express himself in front of peers without feeling self conscience. Gavin has to juggle little league, the traveling baseball team, basketball, football and hip hop. But he does not want to give up hip hop. He has been attending for 7 years and plans on staying there. I love that the staff knows us and is very helpful and understanding with different situations that have risen. My daughter started with The Academy 3 years ago and flourished that first year. Unfortunately we had to move further away after that first year and jumped from studio to studio trying to find that same experience we had with The Academy. They use the same costumes for both winter and spring showcases, they don’t force you to spend a ton of money on multiple costumes. The instructors are so patient and caring. We found this studio when my older daughter wanted to take acting class. My younger daughter took a dance class because she thought it would be fun. That was over 3 years ago. My daughter dances at the Franklin location and I cant say enough about the wonderful experience we have had here. At first entrance to the studio the staff is smiling and friendly and quickly learned my daughters name and always addresses her when we walk in the door. The teachers are professional, smiling, and run exceptional dance classes. My daughter loves dancing and looks forward to this class every week and I truly believe this is because of the care at this studio. The classes are small in size and I get to watch from a two way glass window which is so great for me!! I will send my daughter to this studio as long as she wants to dance!

We have been with APA for 3 1/2 seasons an we love it.we started with Mommy and Me and are working our way to Jazz, Ballet, and Poms! If any type of issue has appeared they have always done their best to resolve it as quickly as possible. I have definitely seen my daughter grow as a person and a dancer. One of the reasons we continue is because of Miss Heather. I really like her style of teaching and her personality. She encourages the kids to be creative but yet focused. Because of some of those skills we have learned and dance class I notice now in 4K my daughter knows how to lineup, how to wait, and how to be patient.

My daughter always has fun & has learned a lot in the last 2 years. I am impressed by the quality of instruction, the helpfulness of the staff and the overall values of the studio - keeping it fun & age appropriate. I highly recommend!

I was really bummed that my daughter was going to have to miss one of her lessons at the Franklin location due to not feeling well, then I was told she could make up her class at the Oakcreek location. We also really enjoy that they keep their recitals a decent length; at our old studio, the recitals were 3-4 hours each which is very difficult if you have little ones!

I really wanted this to be our dance school and it seemed great until recital time.At the rehearsal my five-year-old was called out while she was on stage for wearing the wrong color shoes. It wasnt that this didnt need to be corrected, but calling out a five-year-old in front of an auditorium full of people is absolutely inexcusable. We were told that she needed the correct shoe color and wouldnt be allowed to dance because parents wont buy the dance photos if not everyone is wearing the same shoe. Our option is that she could dance the recital barefoot - which she didnt want to do and spent a good chunk of the night crying. We did ask for and were granted a refund of all future sessions.This is suppose to be a school - teaching skills, building confidence. My daughters confidence was shattered at APA. We will not be back.Once again, It wasnt that this didnt need to be corrected, but calling out a five-year-old in front of an auditorium full of people is absolutely inexcusable.

My daughter is in her 7th year of dancing at the academy! We have been in 4 different types of classes from the young child combo class to the jazz/tap/ballet. We have nothing but great experiences with every class she has taken and she has learned a lot about what she can do! Being at the studio has given her confidence and has also challenged her to do and try new things! The teachers and assistants have all been wonderful! This is our first year being on the Jr. Prep dance team. They are great at organizing the talent so that each child fits in where he/she should. I grew up in a dance family, so I knew exactly what I needed for my sweet little girl: a positive first experience that would get her excited about dance. We got exactly that at APA. We took the parent and tot class together when she was two, just finished the pre-ballet summer program, and she is so excited to start the three-year-old combo class in two weeks. Ms. Amy is the absolute best with young kids, and the studio has organization down to a fine science. I never could’ve imagined the recital process (Spring “Showcase”) being so smooth and seamless with such a large studio, but it certainly was. And I’m also continually impressed by their flexibility with make up lessons. We are looking forward to many more years with APA!

My daughter just started her 6th year at The Academy of Performing Arts in Oak Creek. Every year there is a winter showcase and a spring showcase where your child can perform in one or more shows. There is also and opportunity to be in the Franklin or Oak Creek parade which my daughter has done for the last five years.Before she came here, she danced at Next Step in Franklin where she was treated like a number. After 3 years there, her dance teacher still didnt know her name and then made her repeat a class two years in a row without an explanation. If you needed to ask a question, you were lucky to find a staff person working. Then we found out about the Academy so we switched and it was a completely different experience! All the girls are treated with respect and kindness no matter what level of dancer they are. The dance teachers are very experienced and talented and make the classes fun for everyone. They dont discriminate... you can bring your son too! The staff is always there to help and they are really friendly. Stacy, the owner, is very involved in the studio and keeps adding new classes and events every year. This year there was a pot luck lunch in the park where all the dancers and parents could bring food and get to know each other. There are also fundraisers that you can participate in that help with your monthly tuition cost.The classes are reasonably priced and you get a discount with each additional class you take. There is a wide range of classes to take- breakdancing, hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz, poms, piano, guitar, voice, acting and more. My daughter is on a competitive team where she gets to compete at different locations throughout the year. She loves her dance teacher and the girls she dances with. They also have another studio in Franklin which just opened last year. I highly recommend this studio for your child. I have not had one bad experience here.

My wife and I sent our daughter to APA when she turned 3 for their preschool program at Oak Creek. Her teachers Michelle and Lisa were fantastic and are state licensed teachers. Small class sizes (I believe 12 students max) with 2 teachers offers high personal attention to each child in class. I also like that they were exposed to dance, art, and tumbling during school. My daughter ended up enrolling in ballet & tap classes there as a result, starting her 3rd year with APA this fall. It is also nice that they use same dance costumes for spring and fall for each class to help keep costs down. We also just enrolled our 2 year old in dance class for this fall and I’m certain we will send her to APA for preschool next year.APA is a great organization with caring people who are generous stewards for the success of he schools and youth in the Oak Creek & Franklin communities!!!

All of the APA staff and teachers are nothing but professional and always have the best interests of their students in mind. The staff is extremely helpful and approachable. They always go the extra mile to resolve any issues. The dance teachers give the dancers feedback that is constructive and positive.I very much appreciate their approach and philosophy to use age appropriate and modest costumes and choreography. My dancer loves going to each of her dance classes and has formed strong friendships with her dance team. The Academy of Performing Arts provides an environment that is safe, fun and one that focuses on the dancers best interests. The atmosphere at the Academy of Performing Arts is very caring and supportive.Keep up the great job APA! Thank You!

My daughters experience at APA was a waste of money. When she joined, she loved to dance and Miss Heather was very good at making sure the kids had fun. However, the next year, my daughter wanted to join the competitive program. Their auditions were a group of kids wearing numbers, standing in front of judgemental dance teachers. Although it was intimidating, APA teaches no technique or the proper way to dance. They put themselves on a pedestal, bragging about being professional and mature. If your child is looking for serious dance instruction, I do not recommend APA. These teachers have no professional dance experience.On another note, my daughter faced girls who would put her down, teachers who would pick favorites, and parents who gossiped. She came out of class almost every night crying, saying she isn’t good enough or that she feels too much pressure put on her. These teachers single out dancers who don’t have the abilities they are “looking for” and complain too much about how they aren’t doing things right. APA completely shattered my daughters self esteem.In summary, APA was pocket draining and a waste of time. I wish I brought my daughter to Young Dance Academy sooner. They provide much better results and are ten times kinder.

My daughter has been with APA since she was 3 years old . She is starting her 11th year at the studio this year. She has danced recreationally and now competively with them over the years. Her confidence improves year after year due to the time and effort given to her by the entire staff at the studio! I appreciate how available the staff is when I have questions or concerns. My daughter has not only gained incredible dance knowledge but life long friendships. The girls are taught at the studio to support each other no matter what and I love seeing her engage with all of the girls!

My daughter has danced with the APA for six years. She has danced with recreational classes and on performance teams. Our daughter has enjoyed her classes and has learned several styles dance from highly qualified instructors. Most importantly, our daughter has gained self-confidence and has learned to accept and encourage others. She has developed a strong work ethic, responsibility and perseverance that she has applied to her other activities and her academics as well.
