Never expected to do a review of a knife sharpening, but the work done here just needs it.First off, I called ahead because I was looking to get knives sharpened on a short timeline. Ive previously had these same knives sharpened at a kitchen goods store and it took about 2 weeks. Exact Blade told me 30 minutes, which was awesome. I showed up and while one person was helping someone else, I was helped by Gary. I had 7 fairly old Chicago Cutlery knives my mom had given me decades ago. They were used by her, so not even sure how old they are. They looked their age.Gary offered to sharpen in 30m, as they had said on the phone, but then also suggested that they could restore the handles. Theyd been beat up by a lot of use and dishwasher time over the years. They had a process to use oil to restore and clean them for just a few dollars. As cheap as it was, and knowing I could spare the day for them to do it, I agreed. OMG, it was absolutely worth it. They didnt even look the same. They looked brand new. I even had to take them to show my mom. I also picked up some knife sheaths from them for extremely reasonable prices. I had priced these out (they were in paper sleeves) and their price was less than anywhere online I could find.Saving the best testimonial for last - my wife refused to accept they were not new knives and was mad at me for a few days as she was positive I was lying. Between the amazingly clean and sharp blades and the completely restored handles, and of course the sleeves, she was angry I went shopping without her. Certainly going back soon with some other family knives for sharpening.

I went to this place to sharpen my knife, but ended up buying two knives. I was looking for few new knives anyway. Trust me they know what they are doing and they have really good knowledge. You will never get such service and guidance in any super store. They wont try to oversell you anything. On the contrary I was leaning towards few costly items, but they guided me towards right directions. They will even teach you things that you might not know.Long story short, they know their items, wont oversell anything, extremely honest. I definitely am going back here and highly recommend this place to others.

My knives were deadly sharp after sharpening . I even gave them a knife with a bent tip and they fixed it amazingly. They have everything for sale from expensive Japanese kitchen knives to 5 dollar throw away pocket knives. I’ll be back definitely when my blades are dull again

Exact Blade did a great job restoring my 50 y.o. scissors. They have sentimental value for me as they were given by my mother when I was starting Home Ec. All the black gunk is gone from the blades, they are cleaned up, sharpened and ready to go! Super great and professional service too!

Fast service and Fair prices especially for high end kitchen knives. My only concern is that when I bring in expensive pocket knives with M390, S35VN and Sa45VN steel. They may not have the right equipment to get a hair popping sharp edge.

These guys really know their stuff! We brought a combination of our more expensive and our cheap knives and they fixed all of them up.Were there for a knife safety class. We learned how to properly hold and clean knifes. We got some practice in to properly chop. And they brought in a private chef who taught and made food for us.I would 100% recommend this place to buy and sharpen knives.I would 100% recommend the class as well.

Went here the other day to get ny Damascus steel knife sharpened, and holy cow!!! The owner went above and beyond. He gave me a great deal. My knife is sharper than it was when it was new!!! Dan and the team at Exact Blade are a diamond in the rough when it comes to sharpening services and cutlery. It’s nice to have them so close to keep my knives in great condition. Prices for services and inventory are better than anywhere online too. Japanese or German. High end to low end. Dan has it all. Do yourself a favor and take those dull knives in right now. Heck my mother shipped her 45 year old Henckels to me from Florida to get sharpened and repaired.

Second time working with Exact Blade today. What an outstanding business. The work is top notch and fast. What really topped it off for me was watching him interact with all of his customers. Everyone there seems to be a repeat customer. They hang out, bring knives in to talk about or exchange other banter. Im very happy I found this place. I gave Exact Blade a Wusthof chefs, santoku, and paring knife that were embarrassingly dull that needed sharpening. For fun I also threw in a random blunt Calphalon santoku that was sitting in a drawer for a decade. I transported everything in a knife block on a Saturday, and everything was ready to go the same day. They even cleaned up my knife block for free. After picking up my newly sharpened knives, I went home and prepped a bunch of food. The knives felt better than new and flew through everything. Take care of your knives and bring them here for regular sharpening! I should have been bringing in mine ages ago. I also note they seem to have a really nice selection of knives for purchase, and they will sharpen more than just knives (shears, gardening tools, etc.).

Exact Blade is an excellent place. I visited to have my knives sharpened and the service, skill and knowledge were a very pleasant surprise. Besides knife sharpening services, Dan carries the best products for sale and I bought a robust tree clipper. I had another surprise when Dan recommended that I send in a damaged handle to Wustof for a full replacement which arrived recently.

I have used their services several times to sharpen shovels, spades, lopping scissors, as well as large and small hand-held bypass gardening scissors. Always came back in great shape and done at a reasonable price. They will also let you know if an item is not worth having sharpened. I would certainly recommend their services.

After giving the place a test run for 1 knife a few weeks back and being pleased with the work, I brought Dan 7 knives to sharpen today. He did an absolutely phenomenal job sharpening my favorite cooking knives. So, I brought Dan an additional 3 older quality cooking knives that had been butchered, no pun intended, by a different knife sharping company. Dan literally restored the proper shape to the blades on the butchered knives and gave them razor sharp edges too. I am definitely going back.

Dan did an excellent job sharpening my knives. I brought in 2 chef knives and a pairing knife. I tired sharpening these knives myself and totally ruined the edge. I came in not knowing if the knives could even be repaired. After Dan was finished the knives looked better than new. When I got home used them to prepare dinner. They cut much better than when they were new! I also bought a clever from Exact Blade, Dan did not pressure me to buy the most expensive clever and explained to me the difference between a traditional clever and Chinese clever. The clever I got is excellent. I highly recommend Exact Blade for anyone looking to purchase knives or get they sharpened!

Brought in 3 dull pair of scissors for cutting dog’s hair and 1 for kids hair, we are again able to take care of ourselves. Also brought in grandma’s old scissors and they are sharp again (had to put in case and in drawer away from kids). Good service, saved us from having to buy new shears.

Fair price, fast service. Brought in my high end Japanese chef knives and Dan took care of it like his own. He has the knowledge and experience in sharpening and fixing these culinary instruments. No need to drive into the city for sharpening service if you live near by. Plus, he has very aggressive prices for Shun brand knives and will back it up with service that Williams Sonoma simply cannot.

Outstanding service! Exact Blade has a true concern for their customers. They took the time to ask how I use (chopping vs. slicing) the knives that I brought in so that the correct cutting angle could be put on them. They also shared a lot of information on knives in general - construction designs, how to take care of them and quality manufacturers. The 13 knives and one pair of scissors that I dropped off were ready in a couple of hours and as sharp as surgical scalpels. Sharpening includes a free one year touchup resharpening for each knife provided you care for the knife properly. I highly recommend their service!

I brought in about seven knives to be sharpened--including a couple serrated ones. Dan, the owner, sharpened all of them in about fifteen minutes, maybe less, and even though it had been years since I last sharpened the knives, they are like new now. Ill definitely be coming back to Exact Blade in the future.

I had 5 knives, most new and one that was 40 yrs old, I needed sharpened. I didnt want to take the chance of doing a poor job or damaging them (especially the old one.) Stopped by as a walk-in to sharpen our Henkel and other lesser quality knives. My knives needed sharpening badly - they were squishing the tomatoes instead of slicing them. I took them in and in just a couple hours I had the entire block back (12 knives) sharpened and ready to work. Now they slide right through those tomatoes (and everything else). You never realize how dull knives are until you get them sharpened! They did a terrific job and now I have my eye on another knife in their shop.
