Best place to shop! The workers are kind and friendly! Even in these days of overwhelmed workers they are always happy to look in the back to see if something came in. They are upfront about low or no supply. They carry good brands at reasonable prices! And Louis is most awesome as fish market manager!!

Sadly, I will take my online shopping elsewhere after repeated order not having items pulled correctly or forgotten altogether. I never minded paying more than other grocery stores because of the quality and convenience. Now, its become a hassle when you dont receive the right goods or not at all, then you have to make a trip the store anyway. Yesterday, I got a call that they forgot to load one of my bags and to come pick it up. There we go... another trip. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction, the woman said well, we can just refund you. Not the point! How about we could deliver it to you if youd like, but that didnt happen. Better training and customer service is needed.

Smaller supermarket with a decent selection. Many quality items like meat and seafood. Also has wine, beer and liquor. A little pricey but convenient. Helpful, friendly staff.

Prices on some staples a little high, but they have food items that I love that I have a hard time finding elsewhere.

Very convenient and has those items you really need but dont want to go to the big market. Prices are reasonable on most things. Wide range of products to choose from and the shelves are easily accessible. Highly recommended.

Overall a very good store. Employees are friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to get you what you need. Sunset also carries a lot of items that are hard to find. Only reason I dont give it a 5 is because of pricing. Things can be pretty expensive at times so best to shop when theres sales.

Interesting grocery store with some unique items

I have shopped in this store for many years. Today a young cashier tried to overcharge me. I realized after My credit card was charged. In a very impolite way he told to go to customer service. It only got worse. The woman at the desk was rude and nasty and did not listen what I was telling herNot a good memory. After many years as a loyal customer I will not go back to that store.

Sunset foods staff is always incredible so is there selection. I wish I lived closer but I have family near so on the rare occasion that I make it there to visit I make it a point to stop at sunset foods its terrific. They had something Ive been hunting all over for and could not find elsewhere. Thats not unusual for sunset foods I highly recommend it if youre able to stop at any of the sunset foods. I used to live in highland Park and always went to sunset

How could I not love to grocery shop where the Chinese deli lady can explain the difference between Ashkenazi and Sephardic haroses? A favorite pre or post library stop, with a cafe and space on the mezzanine to have your lunch alone or in groups - (when conditions allow). Adore this store.

I only shop at Sunset Foods in extreme cases, when I dont have time to go to a normal store. Their selection of organic food is lacking and prices are higher than in most other stores. However, I would never review a store based on that. After all, its their decision what to sell. However, I feel that no matter what, they should still provide friendly service. This was not the case the last time I visited it and on several other occasions. The checkout girl (I can only assume its a girl as she looks like a girl in a conventional way. She might identify as a mermaid and I wouldnt know about it) was extremely unfriendly. There was no greeting, she didnt tell me the total and when I finished paying there was no thank you or anything resembling that. It was nearly total silence except for her asking me if I wanted a bag. I dont know if this is the new norm, but you might as well put the self checkout registers there.

Sunset foods is a treat to shop at! They manage to make a chore interesting and fun. A great selection of products. Your typical grocery store will offer a few choices per item, where as Sunset has a variety of brands to choose from. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. A great beer and wine selection as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Today was my first time visiting Sunset foods. What a neat, clean, fully stocked food store! Sunset carries all the name brands in addition to smaller suppliers. Prices were no more than your average supermarket and everyone I encountered was friendly and welcoming. Sunset also offers the standard household, pet and personal items found in other large grocery stores. What makes Sunset unique is that you get that Whole Foods feeling for the Jewel price!!!

Well Sunset Foods Northbrook still has great customer service which they are well know for. If you are a guy there is discrimination. They seem to take better take and concern for the ladies however they might be mind readers also bc I dont like to be fussed over. So highly recommended. Ask for Bruce if you ever have an issue and snap done! Ron B still shows up now and then to help out which is ....come on Ron, relax, take a nap or vacation or something.

Love Sunset. Produce is great quality. Fish counter guys trim and pack the fish just right. Sunset Potato salad from the Deli is the best. Prices are higher than Jewel, but lower than Whole Foods.

I am conflicted rating as Sunset is a better place to shop than Krogeranos (Marianos after being sucked up) or Jewel, but the prices are higher. Sunset does have a few things that are worth it. Fish counter is awesome. Butcher is better. Vegetables are better quality and kept stocked better.

Simply the best deli food for the price; i love their tuna salad--sometimes theres as many as four different types from diet tuna made without mayo to curried tuna. Plus their cheese and sliced turkey and roast beef selection is also varied and fresh. The people are friendly and helpful.The prepared food section is simply wonderful!!

Wonderful local grocery store right in downtown Northbrook. Not the biggest store, but the selection is very good and quality is excellent. Deli Counter is amazing and Service is outstanding. Car loading and delivery is also available. Not the cheapest store in the world, but you get what you pay for.
