I have used the State Street Fruit Store for many years. It stocks a little of everything and during the initial lockdown of the pandemic, they delivered to our door enough variety to keep us going. They have a very nice deli and sell lots of sandwiches made to order. The prices are reasonable for intown. They have high end delicacies and wine, beer and liquor next door. I would recommend them.

I love State Street. The selection is great for a store its size, including a lot of local items. The staff are friendly and helpful. I like that I can get in and out fairly quickly compared to a larger store.

Great place to go if stopping by or living in the area. A bit pricey but the selections and service make up for it.Recently went to their deli and was not disappointed. Sandwiches/grinders or if youre from where Im from subs are made by the caring people who work there and if you dont mind dishing out a couple bucks for quality Id suggest greatly!

State Street has a deli, grocery, and liquor area. The liquor side has a great selection of hard liquors, but if youre a student looking for White Claws and all that fun stuff, youre better off going to Liquors 44.

Good place good beer & food

Their sandwiches are the most inconsistent food item I’ve ever bought. Depending on who is working you’ll either get a reasonably sized sandwich, or you’ll get one THIN slice of deli meat. Last time I’ll ever spend eight dollars to not get full. Groceries are alright but overpriced. It’s a shame because I live right down the street and would be happy to be a regular customer if I didn’t feel constantly ripped off when buying a sandwich. I guess I’ll have to scout who is working the deli before I order a sandwich or stop going altogether.Beer store is great though

I live nearby but always forget this is an option to shop at...however, when I do remember I am always surprised at how great their selection of stuff is (both food and booze). The employees are very nice and seem to enjoy working there, I hope they do enjoy it and are not just acting

This place is amazing! All of their food is great. Affordable soups, sandwhiches. Delicious deli sides like sesame noodles, pasta salad, chicken salad. Always pretty quick service. Great place for lunch

I love this place and I dont ever have seen bagel here I do not think, but its a good place still that I like. It seems like prices are a little higher but I prefer to not sponsor corporeal ovelords who run big chains all over us so I dont mind to pay a schmear more per grocery. That have wide expansive variety of cheese here and I like this a lot as does the woman I love. So we like this. After I get theem groceries and I can step over to the other side of the building  (inside still) and per chance purchase these adult beverages like whine and bears and liquors. They will help you too and you can pair wins etc with the cheeses you just bought and maybe some meats too. I dont know what you do but most people would do that. I dont mean meat per se, but put the cheese with a specific kind of wine is a popular past time that so many of us enjoyed. So basically if you are into Northampton downtown you should go to this market for you to buy your groceries! Even without bagels. You know this!!!

They have everything you need for a quick snack on the run or to set up a romantic date night table. You can pick up a variety of gourmet items, fresh produce, deli meats, soups & lovely pasta salads. They make great sandwiches and beautiful fruit baskets. Best of all they have great friendly staff.

We bought all our wines for our August 2018 backyard wedding at State Street. With 150 guests we needed quite a lot, and wanted a range of types and price options for those more and less into wines. We tended towards their particularly good selection of Italian wines! The team was so friendly and seemed to take a sincere interest in helping us get what we wanted on our budget. We were in the shop multiple times and always felt welcome and valued. They offered a great case discount on already great prices, and allowed us to return unused cases the following day, which provided the flexibility we needed. Thanks guys!

Like a New York city grocery store on state street.A staple of the community offers Deli foods cheeses, lunch to go, most fast and quick as needed grocery and a fair selections of beer, wine and Liquor.It can get crowded and as a urban bodega crossed with foodie feel. Pricing is a bit on the high side. But they offer some products of a more local source then the normal grocery store. Dont go there expecting to buy in bulk.

Grocery store is amazing, selection in the connected liquor store is also amazing, but the service in the liquor store is terrible. The cashier man that works in the liquor store during the day could not be more rude and unhelpful. It’s gotten to a point where I don’t even want to shop here anymore

They know their spirits amazingly well. Friendly, great selection, fair prices. Highly recommended!

The best sandwich shop in town

I love that this store is always open every day. Excellent wine andspirits. specialty grocery with uncommon items and full deli. Limited meat options, better fruit and vegetables.

Great shop! The deli here is top notch; there are always good options for a quick bite, and they make sandwiches to-order that are a great value. The store is good, if a tad expensive for basics. The adjoining Wine and Liquor shop is fantastic and has free wine tastings on Fridays.

Probably the best place to get a quality sandwich in the Northampton area, although the service sometimes feels a little like I’m in the middle of a performance art piece I didn’t volunteer for. Dear nice person in the deli area: can you please turn down the music so your customers don’t have to shout their orders at you? And could you likewise not respond in sotto voce?

State Street has one of the best wine collections in Northampton, with a pretty diverse price range ($10-$60/$70). They also have a great selection of liquor and beer. Staff is friendly and knowledgable.

I am here way more often than Id like to admit. Some things are pricier than a bigger store, some are not. Convenience is worth the increase in most cases.

We ordered a variety of party platters for a graduation celebration. Our favorite was the mezza platter. Our guests totally devoured that one. I thought there could have been a little bit more, but was still pleased with it overall. The finger sandwiches were a hit despite most guest taking the tomato and lettuce out of the egg salad and ham salad sandwiches. The least favorite platter among guests was the cheese and fruit. The cheeses were not typical and they pretty much went untouched. The dessert platter was a hit and the kids liked the mini Snickers that were included.

Sweet and important local store for basic groceries, produce, staples, coffee, tea, chocolate, a few baked goods, maple candy, and apple cider. Attached to the wines, beers, and spirits store which always has a nice selection. Good hours, friendly staff, reasonable prices for a small store.

Love the food here and it is incredibly affordable. They sell lots of local stuff at cheap prices. I bought a bunch of maple candies and they gave me a bulk discount.

Id never hesitate to shop here! This is a well-stocked store with a great deli. At my old job, I would often go there to pick up something for lunch. The deli has pre-made salads, sandwiches, etc. that vary day to day but are always tasty and reasonably priced.The liquor store side of the building offers a great selection of excellent whiskies, and their craft beer selection is very well curated. Staff are knowledgeable and are more than happy to help if you should need assistance.

Store has a great variety of things to choose from. You can get meats, meals, fruits, Alcoholic beverages and more. The prices are a bit high for me but Im sure most wont mind. My family and I went to check the wines and beers. Thats day they had the free wine taste testing which we didnt take part in but its nice for those who seek help with finding new brands. I didnt find anything so I went to check out the grocery section of the store. My fiance came to that side to find me and while doing so he had beers in his hand and a associated automatically assumed he was trying to steal them !!!!!! Lol I dont think anyone would stay looking in a store for at least 20 min before they ran out the store with a small case of beers. Dont know the elderly ladys name but she isnt good at observing or customer service. Wont be back

Im always on the hunt for a good sandwich. This place makes them big, to order and makes them quickly. I just started working in Northampton a few months ago, and this place has made me a regular.

Good produce, convenient location, and decent, standard deli fair, but better bring out the piggy bank if you need anything packaged. The mark up on sauces and the like is astronomical.

I go here pretty often for lunch. One of the few places in the center of town that has its own parking lot, free to park. They have pre-made entrees and sandwiches or theyll make them for you at the deli. Some of the pre-made sandwiches choices arent my favorite, but they have a weekly deli menu that they update so I can check ahead of going there.

The beer, wine, and cheese selection at State Street is the best in town. Especially becuase the prices are reasonable. They also have fabulous made-to-order sandwiches, if you can sit for the 8ish min wait.

Its a really great store you can buy a sandwich you can buy deli stuff they have a liquor store attached there are lots of food options in there.

This is good for basic groceries if you live in the Smith area and have no transportation otherwise I would hope on the B43 to Maple farms grocery store(behind Walmart.) They have lots more groceries and options! Yes jalepenos and sometimes tomatillos

I live nearby and stop in almost every day. Reasonably priced deli, well curated beer & wine and mostly reliable produce. They get their meat from Arnolds which is a blessing since Serios went out of business.

Convenient for small groceries. Really good pumpkin bread and veggies. Not so many meat options.

I ordered a wine and cheese basket to be delivered on Friday but it was NOT delivered. I found out because my credit card was not charged. I called to inquire and was told that they don’t know what happened but it wasn’t prepared or delivered and there was nobody to do the work tomorrow.Don’t order from this place if you need reliability. This was supposed to be a way to support my friend as she deals with the stress of an ailing relative. Not only did they complete drop the ball but had no back up plan for how to fix it.

One of the true gems of the Pioneer Valley, always has good food, sandwiches, and beverages for sale at good prices, with a super-friendly staff. Love going here.

I had picked out my items and was ready to go when the cashier was incredibly rude. So, I just put the few things I had chosen back where I found them and left. Bummer, I had heard good things about this place, but will absolutely not shop at places that treat their customers like an inconvenience.

ITS AMAZING!!! I am so grateful this place exists. I got an olive, pickle, Tomato, onion, ham, provolone, turkey, alfalfa sprout, cucumber, lettuce, green/banana pepper cole slaw stroller. Best thing ever.

These folks have a small selection of quality foods. I havent tried any of their prepared foods yet, but the were cooking something that smelled fantastic when I went in.This is definitely a good place to stop in if you just need a few high quality items or some nice treats and snacks.

Well obviously you feel like youre so important because you have $ & or you live in the valleyI thought it was because Im a man, but maybe thats just how they are[I wont get into but I am quite farmiliar with Noho-culture especially if youre a man,having lived in area for 30 plus years.Im not going there anymore.
