After waiting an hour and a half manager came and told me my locking lug nut key was stripped. None of my tires were off and it was on the lift so I assume the guy working on my car stripped it and when he realized he couldn’t fix it, he told the manager.I had replaced a blowout the night before and the key was fine. I left pep boys and went home not wanting to jump to conclusions and saw metal shaving’s. Probably using impact which should be mechanic 101.Had to spend $100 and 12 hours of my time four of which was spent driving to dealers for a master key. I ended up having to drill the locking lug nuts out. Not to mention more damage to my wheels.Manager was very nice but I will take my business elsewhere.Also if you screw up someone’s car at least be honest about it and give some kind of I’m sorry discount.

Angela is awesome! I had called other companys to check tires to be put on hold or hung up on. Angela checked to make sure my tires were actually in stock and though it was late in day... they stayed to get my tires on! And the drive... super smooth! Thats great customer service and I will recommend them to family and friends for sure!

Was almost charged for repair I never received and waited for 45 minutes for Lyft they called that never came then got 2 more calls from other lyfts they booked and eye rolls and complete about there day to me like we are friends Im made and your telling me how tuff your day is come on pep boys you can do better

I got scammed by this location. Please avoid them if possible. They charged me for unauthorized work, and when I tried to get the charges corrected, Sean and Angela have done everything from unabashedly lying to simply hanging up when I call.It won’t take long to see that the place is poorly run. Like many other reviewers have noted, it is messy and they were very late on their appointment times. Unfortunately, that was the least of our worries.We made an appointment to get the check engine light code pulled (advertised visibly as a free service) and getting the air conditioning checked out at the same time. After being 40 minutes late for the appointment, they finally got the car in. My wife waited at the location. During that time, not ONCE did anyone come out to inform her what the check engine code was. In fact, the only thing they actually did to the vehicle was turn the check engine light off. However, they did manage to come up with an over $200 set of charges for it.Half of that amount was expected. Even though they couldn’t fix the air conditioning (I’ve since fixed it myself, haha), they certainly had to do diagnostics, which costs money. My issue is that they also added on another charge for ‘Engine Diagnostics.’ We did not authorize that work to be done. The appointment was not for that, and I certainly wouldn’t have asked them to do anything like that before learning what the engine code was. They took it entirely upon themselves to add that, despite the code being an evap warning, AKA loose gas cap. Not something to throw money at, except maybe for a new gas cap.So, a mechanic trying to take advantage of someone by denying the customer information and overcharging. Tale as old as time, I suppose. However, I honestly thought that since they are part of a large commercial chain, they would have the courage to fix the issue because at no point was that work authorized. When I called and spoke to Angela, she admitted to it being a simple miscommunication, and that she thought we would want the engine diagnostic for the light… Could have been an honest mistake, right? Glad she admitted the mistake, I asked for a refund of $99, the price of the engine diagnostic. She told me her manager Sean is not on the floor at that moment, and because she is new she can’t issue refunds. But she will return my call in less than an hour when he returns.Two hours later, still no response. So I call back, and the phone rings off the hook. I let it ring about 12 times, then hang up. I then call from a different number, my Google phone number, and she picks up first ring. How about that? All of a sudden, her story changes. Sean isn’t in at all today, and she is really overwhelmed because she has only been in this position for a few weeks. She really can’t issue a refund, but she asks me if I want to move the credit over to be applied to my next visit? Um, no. I can tell how this place does business, I just want to walk away with a square deal.With negotiating for a return visit off the table, she again says I have to wait for Sean. Seems strange that one second the manager is about to return, and later he was never there, and now you are a “new” employee trying to cut deals when you can’t even do a simple refund… but fine. I leave my phone number, and ask her to have him call me tomorrow.The next afternoon, after never having received a call, I place a call to them myself. Sean answers, and he seems to know exactly who I am and why I am calling, not even having to ask for my information. He assured me that they will be issuing a refund, but it will take 7-10 days to process through corporate.It has been well 14 business days. I called today to ask about my refund. Sean assures me it has been sent to corporate, and it is out of his hands. At this point, I inform him that I have already called corporate just moments before calling him, and they didn’t receive anything from him. At that point, he simply hung up on me.Let my lost money be a lesson to you; do not take your vehicle to Pep Boys on NE Loop 820.

This was a recommended 3rd party warrenty mechanic shop. I bought a car with Carvana. The car is used so sometimes you get other issues. My car had a bad rattling noise when I drove it. I went to this location to find out what the problem was. I brought my car in. The appt was for 9am. A tech went out to the parking lot and took a little spin around then pulled into the shop at 1015a. It was about 1045a or close to 11a when Sean Jackson the service manager came out and told me they could find nothing wrong with the car? I asked if the machanic could ride with me to hear what the problem was? Sean said he would ask. Sean returned and dismissed that question. I was told to return the car back to Carvana? I asked him, how would I do that? I bought the car on line and Pep Boys is supposed to be in the 3rd party network of fixing cars? I was told that since they could not find a starting issue to diagnose what was wrong? I just needed to return the car back to Carvana? I asked where that would be? Did you have an address? I was given a description of where there was a Carvana dealer? Long story I know. Moritz Kia dealership fixed the collapsed motor mounts, the transmission mounts had collapsed as well. This location was not interested in helping diagnose or fix my car. I will never return. Not recommended.

First I would like to say that this location is the worst! I made an appointment on 11/3/20 for a tune up, brake replacement, power steering flush, oil change and pretty much a lot of work wanting done. They called me to pick it up and when I got in to take it back home, I was having trouble accelerating which in fact was not doing that when I brought it in. It was in good condition and NOT DOING THAT. We made another appointment to take it back in due to also the check engine coming, so as we did they ran a diagnostic and said nothing was wrong with it and said it might be something to do with the transmission. So can you imagine how furious we were! So we left and took it to AutoZone and well we’ll well guess what the machine read.... MISFIRE DETECTED!!! We took it to another location (Beach at.) and come to find out they put back the old spark plugs and were broken. The staff at this location did an amazing job and fixed it. I have to mention as well as they also took about 4hrs to do so and made sure they installed all the other parts correctly. That being said I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS LOCATION!!! They did not seem to care about what they had did wrong and just took our money. Horrible experience ever!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible.Shop is unkempt and has been gutted. Made a reservation for today at 10:30 and when I got there was told it would be about 2 hours just to look at my truck not including whatever service time cause they didnt have any open bays. So making a reservation means nothing to these guys.Would not recommend and will not be going back.

Only came here for a battery replacement. Paid for everything online and just need to do the installation at the store once picked. When I tell you I have NEVER RECIEVED SUCH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I literally walked and got straight attitude from every single co-worker. I recieved it from inside the store employess to the service department. I recommended you DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY HERE nor your time. You can receive better customer service anywhere else beside this place. I hate rude customers service for paying customers.

I dont write reviews ever, but theres a first for everything and thats goes to show how poor my experience was. Had an appointment at 11am for alignment. We go drop off the car and i couldnt tell that it was busy, there were only 2 cars in the bay and a crew member just standing and chilling around. Go inside and let the salesman know were dropping off our vehicle for the appointment scheduled and he says not a problem well call you when its ready. Cool, so 12:30p comes around i get a call and the salesman lets me know theyre working on the car and that it would be ready, SOON. Also lets me know about the tread on the tires and suggests getting a new set with their buy 3 get 1 promotion and quoted me a price. I declined and just stuck with the original alignment for today, he says okay well give you a call when its ready. Now 3 hours go by with no call, so i call the store myself to be put on hold for about 10 minutes before i call, AGAIN. I let the service department know i was wondering about the status of my alignment and he says, its ready. Alright so i ask how long has it been ready for? And he responds 30 minutes now. I thank him and hang up. Now i dont know what kind of time theyre running on but for an alignment to take 4 ½ hours from the time it wad dropped off, with an appointment, AND not to be informed of the fact that IT WAS READY FOR 30 MINUTES, is an utter waste of my time. Poor communication and very poor service. Pointless to make an appointment if it was gonna take that long. Also it was inexplicably stupid to force you to pay for a warranty on an alignment in order to get one, like you really cant stand by your service that you force people to waste their money??? Nice. Have a lovely day.

Good selection of auto parts and accessories, service department was very busy with just 2 people, really needed more. Inventory on shelves was broad with 1 or 2 of just about every shelf tag item. The store and service counter were both HOT, not sure if it was a momentary or long term problem but multiple fans leans towards permanent. In Texas a hot building costs you at least a star, it makes every experience bad no matter how everything else goes, so get that AC cranked up for 5 stars.

Terrible Service. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change and a break check, went in for it and they said they were backed up two hours because they were short handed. Understandable, but no one called to let me know. The man just kept telling me I should of had an appointment (which I did). I rescheduled the appointment for a few days later, went back in and the guy said he couldn’t find the appointment. The manager, Tom, had to show him where it was. He may have been new, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I was told it would take 45 min to an hour. I walked across the way to McDonald’s and waited an hour and 15 min. I went back to ask the status on it and it hadn’t even been taken back yet. It was still where I parked it. No one called me or told me they were behind. So I wasted an hour and 15 min and got nothing. When I asked the same man who checked me in why no one notified me, he just said, “Sorry, you’re next up though.” It was a huge inconvenience both times. Usually Pep Boys has been great in the past. But this place was a no-go. I highly recommend not going here until they can get it together.

Yesterday on the service road of 820 right in front of the store my tire quickly went flat due to the valve stem, I took off the tire and unfortunately I could not get my spare tire to lower down from my truck. I went to see if they could help me out to get me back on road and the guys that were just sitting in the A/C office told me that they couldn’t help me because they were behind on other vehicles, but their was only one vehicle in the shop getting worked on. Pep boys staff obviously didn’t care about an emergency situation, at least now I know never to use PEP BOYS in my lifeWorst service ever

No complaints. Ran in to grab some tools I forgot to bring. Selection was good with some budget options that were decent quality. Two registers open, no line and people at the desk were friendly. Parking was easy and getting to the store is easy off the frontage road or Rufe Snow.

Horrible Service. First thing I walk through the door and let the lady know I have an appointment for 4:00. Immediately cut off and she says, I dont know who made that for you but its wrong our technician is booked. I let the lady know I made it online and I have confirmation. She looks up my name sees my appointment and says Oh, ok. I made an appointment for my A/C to be looked at. I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours before I went up front to see what the deal was only to be told the technician had left for the day so my car wasnt going to be looked at! Like really? WTF? Not only did I make an appointment and leave work early for my car to be seen but I wasted 2hours here for nothing when another shop could have been looking at, and nobody even attempted to come get me to let me know any of this. I will NEVER be back here again!!!

I had the best experience thanks to Thomas Hall, He is an angel.I normally feel defeated after I leave a mechanic shop as if I overpaid for services. The pricing was amazing and I wasn’t overcharged. I actually saved going to PEP BOYS. AWESOME!! :)The compassion Thomas Hall had for me was amazing and his professionalism and understanding of the problem were impeccable. The pricing was amazing and I didn’t feel screwed over.I had oil all over my engine on a RX350 while visiting the winco close by, smoke was coming through my hood. A completely unexpected hose rupture. I could not drive my car anymore or I will risk more damages. Thomas Hall with his amazing personality helped me through this unexpected tragedy.Also, This amazing man lift me home so I wouldn’t have to wait for hours until it was completed anddddd he followed up with me to make sure the job was done properly. Took my car in for warranty work - the previous pep boys at wacko butchered alternator replacement job and did not last a few months. I had the worst experience there. the guys here were great.. Left the car in the morning and it was ready with the new alternator in the afternoon. works great now.

Under the COVID-19, some of them car maintenance employee did not put on mask or put the mask like a joke. Especially, look at the wipe! I wiped my wheel and transmission switch, it is so dirty! They don’t respect your car, your health!

Very very disappointing and frustrating..... In the past pep boys were great but not anymore. I came in because my car was making a loud noise when starting up. I asked them to check it out and let me know what the problem was. I was told it was the power steering, BUT it wasnt, and I needed front and back breaks. I let them install the power steering and went to pick it up and started it up, and the very same loud popping noise. I immediately went back in and said I thought you fixed the problem. Its doing the very same thing. He tells me hes going to let his master mechanic look at it again. He brings it back about 15 min later and tells me its normal for it to make that noise because it takes a week for the power steering fluid to run through and not to worry. Well I took my car to a more reputable company that was highly recommended and the mechanic did a diagnostic test and confirmed it was actually the car suspension, and also I still have a good amount of life left on my front and back breaks.I would not recommend this place. My coworkers even tried to warn me not to go to any Pep Boys. They lie and do horrible work. I dont trust them and wont be taking my car there ever again.

2 hours to change one tire. And charged 30 bucks more than they said they would. Didnt even wipe down the hub afterwards. Left nasty handprints.Im glad it was just a tire change and not something more important.This one time customer will remain a one time customer.

Had my A/C check at Pep Boys said it would cost $314.12 to fix they found no leaks and this also included having my oil change.so had work done took back 2 days later blowing hot air had them check it out told me it would cost almost $500.00 for parts and labor so 12 month warranty not worth noting. I wouldnt take your Vehicle To Pep Boys

I own a small fleet and used pep boys for light mechanic work, alignments and occasional tires. I just brought a van in for alignment. We had this van aligned the year before at the same store. This time they told me I needed a hardware kit which consisted of a bolt and cam for each side at a cost of $70. They charged me for the same thing the year before. I believe this hardware scam is a standard up yours charge. I had them do the alignment and replace a tire. 2 weeks later the same van was showing uneven tread wear. We brought the van in and were told it needed upper and lower ball joints at a cost of $900. Why didnt they tell us this when it was just in there? Do we really even need all 4 ball joints? A local auto shop quoted us $700 to replace the ball joints. When we returned it to PB to get it realigned they said they wouldnt realign it at no charge because they didnt install the ball joints. pep boys wont be seeing me or my fleet anymore.I have since been contacted by PB customer service and Area director. In the end they did the right thing and aligned the van.

I was in and out with my wife in a matter of minutes, with an air filter and box of spark-plugs in hand for my old Ford. I do highly recommend this establishment for the light automotive work that I needed when I was in the store.

I had my abs module replaced in my truck and they did a fabulous job they actually had to call in another company to reprogram the unit because it wouldnt program with the truck for some reason but they got it all fixed up and it works fabulous this is a good place to go to have your vehicle repaired and especially to get Auto Parts

Had two tires replaced and they snuck in a front end alignment. I gave them permission to touch the wheels but not my suspension. I wouldnt have noticed except the screwed it up and the SUV pulled to the right when it was just fine before. They still couldnt fix it right when they tried to fix it a few days later. DONT TRUST THEM TO DO ANYTHING, NOT EVAN YOUR TIRES, THEY WILL STICK IT TO YOU AND SCREW IT UP!

Parts manager is a jerk spoke with him on the phone this past weekend about the warranty on my battery for my car and it was purchased using the discount for when I worked for a car dealership and he flat refused to do anything and basically told me that they looked it up and wasnt in the system first off he wouldnt know cause I never told him what kinda car I had or did I give him a part number to reference to just the name of the battery and then he went on to say that he wasnt going to warranty the battery because it would be fraud and said this multiple times when talking with this parts manager and he didnt know who gave me permission to use the account that has nothing to do with a warranty or a purchase done when I used it when i use to work for car dealership and if its a warranty item purchased through a commercial account the warranty has to be done through that and he went on to tell me that I have to do it through retail and told him a rough idea of when I bought it cause I cant find my receipt and I told him i bought it at the end of July toward the middle of August is all I remember and he said not going to warranty it well guess what I called the 800 pepboys to make a serious complaint against the parts manager for being a complete jerk and had extremely horrible customer service. And no where is it fraud if I bought this when I worked for a car dealership using the discount and paying with my own hard earned money to buy the battery

I spoke to someone on the phone. I have 2001 Crown Vic I need the temp blend door actuator replaced. He said it would be 600.00 and up. He did not even look up the cost or the labor hours it would take. I have called around and all other shops are wanting about 390.00 for labor. I would not let their service dept. put air in my tires for fear that it would get screwed up. The store employees are very nice and helpful. Whoever manages the service dept. should be fired.

Tech seem ok. Not a fan of the service manager I talked to. Had an appointment, quoted an hour for alignment when setting appointment. Service manager says we will still have it done in time because an alignment only takes 10 minutes. I should have took my keys and left then. Waiting about an hour more and late back to work. I gave them another chance after a questionable last time. I will not be back while that service manager is there.

Went in for an oil change today and they told me the wait would be an hour and a half. Got back and they still hadnt started. The last time I was there a yellow eyed employee tried to hustle me into buying a new radiator for 900, same day, while holding back a little smirk. I got it patched elsewhere for $20. I can not express what a dive this Pep Boys really is, and what a waste of time.

I went to go get a flat fixed. There was only 1 person working and 4 sitting around just talking. They said ot would be a 3 hour wait to get a plug in a tire. Worst customer service I ever had will not return.

Called the shop before I arrived and asked about getting my brakes done for my car. I was quoted $214.00 for brakes only that included labor. I initially went to get my brakes worked on because I heard a scrapping/grinding metal sound at low speeds and when I slowed down. I get there and overheard the technician talking to the manager and heard him tell the manager that my brakes were fine. So then the manager came in to talk to me (not knowing that I heard the conversation) and told me that they would repair my brakes for $240.00 (WOW!!!!) and he never mentioned that the technician said my brakes were fine or suggested checking for other repairs. They are liars who steal (or in my case tried to steal) money by having me get unnecessary work done without resolving my issue!

Pep Boys is awful! I bought a set of four tires, even the warranty. I went to have an oil change and tires rotated, visted two stores only to be turned away. Said they didnt have a tire guy to rotate the tires... I was shocked since this was a Tire Company that they had no tire guy at either location! I am no longer a customer...

I had a appointment for putting tires on some wheels. I arrived on time and was told it would take an hour to 1.5 hours to mount 4 tires (already off the car). They have black striping in the waiting room so youre not able to see them doing the work. This is the only place Ive seen this type of work. I would buy tires somewhere else. The end.

The most horrible service ive gotten. I took my vehicle for an alignment and when I recieved it the problem wasnt fixed. I took it back for them to fix it but it didnt fix the problem. I paid for a service that was never completed. I dont recommend this place.

Very rude! Front desk guy jordan was extremely helpful. The guys in the shop were being rude to him for trying to get them to help me (mind you they werent busy so he was not bothering them one person was even just sitting on his ass)...all while i could hear them through the glass talk crap about it. Shouldve listened to my friend that said dont come here.

Was an issue with computers so there was an extended delay on my appointment for 8am which actually happened to be around an hour late so my car actually received service almost an hour after my appointment. Its not the employee or any ones fault in particular. Im shocked there isnt really a contingency procedure in place for this or atleast it seems there wasnt. Something pep boys might wanna look into because most places an appointment time is exactly that I dont go to a doctors office at my time and wait an hour to be seen. But techs were great had my car back out to me with the oil changed by about 9:25am or so.
