We flew into Florida and had a house rented on Little Gasparilla Island. They delivered a very nice boat to us right on time that we used and enjoyed for for 5 days. We called and they met us to pick up the boat at our convenience. Thanks Willis

One of the worst experiences I had renting a boat. The company left my Credit Card information laying on the dock for the whole time we were out. I contacted them they told me no one took the information and if I am concerned I should cancel the card. No, we are sorry nothing. I explained also there was an issue with the boat I was told they maintain them in perfect order I must have been using it wrong. Boat was beat up. Very bad customer service and also boats are not worth it. Plenty of other companies use someone else I will never go back.

The boat was nice and workwd fine my biggest problem with this company is my deposit has still not been returned 6 weeks later and every time i call i get the answering machine and noone ever calls me back

We’ve rented from them twice. No real issues at all. It does take quite awhile to get your deposit back. If they would put a hold on your card like other places and not outright charge you, they could release the hold much quicker. It’s been almost 2 week as waiting for a refund. Also, I don’t think it’s a good business or security practice to have your clients write their full credit card info on paper forms...As a customer, you will have to repeat many of the same steps you did online when you pickup the boat from the worker that meets you. You are handed a clipboard and papers to fill out. The questions on these forms are identical to what you answer online when booking your appointment.Fill your boat with gas before you return it and know how to drive a boat and you’ll be ok. They’re not as bad as other reviews make them out to be.

This was an amazing day. I had rented a boat elsewhere and was notified at 8:46 pm that the boat had been severely damaged and it wouldn’t be available. I called SEFL at 7:30 am and was able to rent a boat the same day, they DEFINITELY saved the day and Elijah was kind and extremely helpful. I will definitely be using them again. Was really easy renting the boat, just make you call your contact since it’s a remote service. Boat worked great and Venice area is beautiful to cruise with multiple sand bars.

We rented the Hurricane deck boat for a full day on the water. The whole experience from booking to returning the boat was flawless. The boat was in very good condition. We were met at the dock and on the water in 15 minutes. All around great experience, would highly recommend!

We rented a boat from SWFL Boat Rentals. Arrived on time but no one there. Representative finally arrived and checked us in. Prepared to leave the dock when another group arrived and announced it was their rental. We had a receipt but that was worthless. We were told to get off the boat and offered a $50 voucher. We would never rent from this company again so the voucher was not an issue. Called the management and was told the boat we had rented was being repaired. No phone call in advance, not even the morning of the rental to let us know. Worst company to rent a boat from and rude people to deal with. I give this company 0 Stars.

Well, we thought everything went well. We rented the boat on Tuesday and had no incidence. We dropped the boat off in the same condition as we picked it up and it is now Friday and deposit has not been returned. Also, may I suggest that you insist they send the contract to you ahead of time so you do not sign in haste. We did not get a copy of the contract we signed and they nickled and dimed us because of it. There was no talk of us having to refuel and we barely went anywhere with the boat and had to pay 8 dollars a gallon to refuel. We were also told we were not allowed to go into the Gulf. The advertisement says you are allowed to go up to 5 miles into the gulf.

Absolutely the best boat rental company in the area. Ive tried others but this has the most updated, cleanest boats and their service is out of this world! They help make our vacation memorable!

Had a very good experience with the boat rental and was pleased that boat had fish finder/depth finder, good radio and a compass. Most of the boat rentals in this area do not include any of those items.

While the boat and process was easy and nice, they were late getting to us and once we finally signed all the paperwork and whatnot it was already an hour into our rental time. Anyways, nice boat had a good time. But then it took them 26 days to deposit our security deposit back to us when they said it would only be 2 days for processing and 2-7 business days to receive. That’s unacceptable and for that reason I won’t be using again.

Wanted to spend a day on the water after 5 years of not owning a boat. Found this company on Google. I had several questions before I rented, and they were very prompt in getting my questions answered. On the morning we were to depart, they had the boat in the water waiting for us at the promised 9am! Great service. The boat was in reasonable shape, performed flawlessly running up and down the harbor to the Gulf and back. It had a couple flaws, but so does every boat, especially rental boats. Overall, I will definitely rent from them again.

Late to meet us by 30 min and was charged for a full day while we could only be out for 4 hours since they were 30 min late and the fuel dock closes 30 min before you are supposed to be back.

Do.not.rent.from.this.place. We rented a boat for a family of 12, they gave us a boat that was worn and old. Nothing worked on the dashboard, including the depth finder and speedometer. The boat went no faster than 10mph the entire trip (owner said due to our big group, yet the boat was rated for 12 people or 1700 PDS, we are nowhere close to 1700 pounds; half the people on our boat were children under 8!!!), then when we tried to get our money back from our terrible experience the owner wouldnt call us back. If your still weary seeing 4 stars (dont be played like us) they are giving $35 for a 5 star review. Absolute GARBAGE company with an employee (Mike)who knew nothing and wasnt even willing to tell the owner our concerns even after we inisited he take the boat out with one adult to show him the boat problem. Mike, the employee, and my husband took it and the boat went no faster than 15 mph with 2 adults.*I notice all the one star reviews your blaming the customers. I have no problem proving I paid for my gas and show all the pictures and videos on this boat and the experience. AND the video, I took secretly of us talking with Mike, your employee...

Was looking at joining a boat club and thought I would try these guys out before I joined. I called earlier in the week and I rented one of their boats for a whole day. I bought food and drink supplies, new bikini for the wife, and invited my son and his wife to come along. We were all set to go. SWFL Boat rental said they would meet us on Saturday at 8:30am. We were excited and arrived at 8:25 a.m. . By 8:45 no boat and we had not heard a word from SWFL Boat Rental people. After calling them they said they couldnt get me a boat. WTH? I had to call them to find out where the boat was, they didnt even have the courtesy to call me. They lost a serious customer....but who cares...right?I must say that I wont do business with them again

If we could give 0 stars, we would. This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. We left the dock with the boat not exceeding 15mph. We called the company and was told to push the throttle down as fast as we could and move everyone to the front of the boat, which we did and took video. We decided to just deal with it for the day because we had planned the whole day. We returned the boat 2 hours early and called the company again to let them know that it did it the whole time. We were greeted by an extremely rude person that basically said we wanted a free boat ride and that they weren’t Walmart and basically to F off. We asked to speak to someone above him and the owner and he hung up on us. I have never experienced this in my 14 years of being in customer service.

This was our first time renting a boat and it was amazing. The staff was very helpful. All we had to do was get on the boat, have an amazing time, dock it, get off the boat and they do the rest! Doesn’t get any easier than that!!! Will rent again!!

The customer service is absolutely horrible and the staff that claims they are the manager won’t transfer you to the owner or anyone above them. We called to complain about the boat’s operation and he immediately assumed we were wanting a full refund and advised us that they weren’t Walmart and that we just wanted a free boat ride. Did not even ask how he could make things right or how he could help us. Don’t ask to talk to the owner, you’ll get hung up on. Never experienced anything like this in my life.

Awful experience rented a boat on May 16 at 821 am for Memorial day weekend in Venice. Alex took my credit card deposit and sent an Authorization code. Upon arrival at the boat launch an employee said he did not have us on the list and gave the boat to another party. It was an embarrassment to our guest as we had packed traveled and planned for a full day on the water. Total disappointment.Joe Parrish FL.

The boat was misrepresented, had broken items, then the employees for the company straight up lied to us in order to try to get up-charge fees after-the-fact. Seems to be their business model. Not a good experience. I would rent elsewhere if I were you.

Rented the 20 Proline CC and it was everything I needed for some fun on the water and fishing. Service was great with drop off and pickup. I will definitely rent again from them.

Our boat trip didnt go as planned. The bilge pump failed and we started taking on water in the hull 45 minutes into the trip. Fortunately, we made it into Pine Island Marina and were able to save the boat from sinking. The rest of the day was spent waiting for Eric from SWFL boats to arrive, and ferrying cars to get everyone back home. After negotiating with Alec, the owner, he did give us back a full refund and a $50 voucher towards another rental. I would use their services again, boats have issues occasionally, but they did work through it with us.

Rented a bayliner 180 for 8 hours. 9-5. Was at the dock at 9 am. No boat. Called and they said they moved me until 10am. No call, text, or email. They were there at 10 am. Running boat all day alarms beeping when full throttle. Called them no concerns from them. Rest of day was ok. We couldn’t find a marina to get gas after going to 3 different. We called swfl boat rental told them our concerns about not being able to get fuel. He said no problem we will fuel it up at Marina prices. Ok great. Thank you. Come to find out swfl boat rental charged us their $7.xx refuel fee. I called and they said that’s what you signed for. If that was the case I would have drove around for hours to find a marina to fuel up. It would be better to be a man of your word. Do what you say you were going to do. And also no compensation on the hour we lost in the morning by them being an hour late. Great job swfl boat rental!! Do not rent from them. This is my first and last time.

DO NOT RENT A BOAT THROUGH THIS COMPANY!!! THE OTHER REVIEWS OF SHADY BUISNESS PRACTICE ARE TRUE!!! We recieved a boat that was subpar at best... I also called to ask about my deposit and the guy was VERY condescending and arrogant. The first call he said he would send a text reciept for the deposit. I waited 2 days and recieved nothing. So, I called back. When I called back he told me to refer to the text receipt that I had not gotten. He then started asking me what color the boat was because he needed to figure out what boat I was on. I said I didnt remember the exact colors of the boat and asked him why he didnt have a record of what boat he gives to each customer. He responded with so youre telling me you have no idea what boat you rented... no thats your job. Why doesnt your company keep records for deposits and other things. He also tried to tell me maybe you called the wrong company. No, maybe if you kept record of customer rentals we wouldnt be having this problem! Crazy he found my deposit with my card...This brings me to the fact that he charged me $70 for gas... how can you charge me for gas when you have no idea what boat we had!?! WARNING TO THE PEOPLE LOOKING TO RENT A BOAT DONT DO IT HERE!!! We put gas in our boat and I have now idea why we got charged this... Im sure he doesnt either!!! Worst rental experience I will go back to who we usually rent from the only reason I gave this company a shot was because ours was booked and this one had decent reviews... BEWARE you will not get a nice boat, okay at best and you wont get your full deposit back even if you take care of the boat and refuel it because he keeps no records!

The guy/worker/possible owner, Alex, texted at 11 pm the night before our boating day to ask what time is good 9 am or 11 am. We said 9.as we had ordered on the website. He was waiting at the dock with the boat still on the trailer. It was old and crusty. He got it in the water to find that it didnt start and said sorry you cant take the boat out and we have no other boats. Im being generous on his conversation skills because there were none. He wouldnt respond to our questions from the moment we met him. Very odd. Luxky for us Royal Palm Marina had a boat and we were on the water within the hour. I think SWFL boat rentals is a farce.

Very quick response both times we’ve rented from them. Both boats have been as described, and the kids had a blast. Would definitely recommend them. Great rates and it’s awesome they bring the boat to you.

I had a bad experience with this company. I rented the hurricane 150 hp and I told them how many people I had and I wanted to be able to pull a float behind it. They agreed that it would do exactly what I wanted it for. When we got in the boat it didnt move to fast but didnt really try to push it at first we just went to a sand bar for a couple hours and left to try a tube. But when we tried to give max throttle it wouldnt go no faster than 25 to 25 miles an hour. Then it would Rev up over and over like something was wrong and I had to put it in neutral for minute to be able to move again. I called the owners/ who runs the business and he said if I brought it back by 1 he charge me a half day. But if the bout wouldnt do what you said it would then I shouldnt have been charged that or offered another boat. They would not work with me in any way and the charges me 154 dollars for 19 gallons of gas making me pay a total of 450 for a waist of mine and my familys day. I would not recommend this company in anyway.

My family and I are staying on Siesta key and rented a boat from this company. The boat was very nice and the ride was enjoyable. Dealing with the delivery of the boat was not.We paid extra to have the boat delivered to a marina nearby and we scheduled it for 12:00-4:00. We arrrived early and waited for the boat. At 12:00 we were keeping our eyes open. At 12:45 the man pulled in with the boat. Normaly we would have been more patient but we had dinner reservations for New Years and because this man was late (and never called to say he was running late) we had to get in a big hurry and were under more stress to be on time. Once we explained this the man then took his time trying to put the canopy up when we said all we needed was the boat in the water.Then when we were ready to pull away the man said that we needed to put gas in the boat when we were done and leave the receipt.We were more than happy to fill up the boat but we didn’t understand why they needed the receipt if we were paying for it. The man threatened to take away our deposit when we asked him why we had to leave the receipt.After being almost an hour late with no excuse we thought he may give us some of our money back. But he didn’tOverall if we didn’t have to deal with the man who was delivering it would have been a great experience. I only gave two stars because of the poor service and treatment by this man

I didnt receive the proper deposit back after I was severely overcharged for the fueling (10 gals). I didnt refuel the boat on the water to save time, also I barely used any fuel, it was barely just under fuel tank. I figured paying for the 3-4 gallons was worth the water time. I offered to follow the boat (on the trailer) to the nearby gas station and pay to refill, but was denied. Also, we got pulled over for a safety inspection and failed due to a empty fire extinguisher and not having a throw able lift saving device. I got a ticket for $76 that I am still working to get them to pay for.Update* Still it didnt use 10 gallons. They promptly repaid me for the ticket.

Prices are good. Had some trouble locating the boat was not given any name or description of driver or vehicle. Also their fishing rod rental is the reason I couldnt give 5 stars. It was a mangled mess of rusty hooks and leaders in a broken box with a rod that was missing a eye and had a permanent bend to it. It did come in handy at holding up the bimini top in the rain.

This is our second time renting a boat for a week from SWFL....have been very pleased by the boat, rental rate, and service...will do it again!

I’m not impressed at all. I ended up having to go to the hospital, therefore we didn’t make our boat rental. They charged the full amount to my card even though we weren’t able to pick up! Never again!

We had a fun time with our boat rental...went fishing and touring around. Staff met us at the location of our choice and launched the boat.

Decent size 18ft Bayliner provided in good condition with ample enough power, we were able to book at quite short notice, we left from Osprey just 25 mins from Sarasota. Oleg was there to meet us with the boat and gave us plenty of assistance to get us on our way. Oleg was there to meet us and was helpful when guiding us back in.I will be happy to use these guys again!James B

How are they even in business they run from a boat ramp or storage barn no directions or information at all you just go and when returning the boat no one is there to help you just park and leave we took they boat to 2 miles and parked on a sand bar and got charged $50 for fuel very shady business
