At the beginning of the summer, my son and I were looking for a guitar store, as he wanted to buy his first guitar.We are so grateful we went to The Guitar Nook. Johnny guided us through the process of selecting the most convenient guitar for my son, (taking into consideration his height, previous experience, our budget and the kind guitar he was looking for) and now my son has not only a new guitar, but a fantastic guitar teacher that works wonderfully with kids, very knowledgeable, patient and empathetic…a person that teaches from respect and peace. Johnny makes it look so easy, yet his lessons are very complete, and he does a great job involving the students in the process of their own learning, as he includes their particular music preferences to create customized classes for them, and also he integrates other instruments knowledge that the students may have, to make parallel references and reaffirm the new concepts he is introducing.If you like guitars, The Guitar Nook is your place. There’s guitars of all shapes, colors and types. Repairs are done also if you need it.If you want to learn to play the guitar, I guarantee you will love it! I recommend this place a 100%. If you need repairs, advice, or new equipment this is the place to go. Johnny is a phenomenal guitar tech! We have taken him three guitars now and he has worked miracles on all three for a very reasonable price. He made my inexpensive Yamaha Pacifica that I bought on Amazon sound and feel like a thousand dollar instrument. Our lead guitarist loves it and often grabs it now when we are jamming rather than his own guitar... I have purchased a bass guitar here and an amp both with the patient and knowledgeable help of Johnny. I will be a lifetime customer of this shop. I havent had lessons here yet (Im a drummer) but I plan to. I cant imagine there is a better place to go for guitars.

Great Guitar Shop & Lessons,At 55 and with no musical background, I was terribly nervous to learn guitar. Credit to Johnie and The Guitar Nook for my pride is saying “I play guitar” and I am not alone. Other Guitar Nook students include a grandmother learning to play for her church choir, a father who enjoys learning boleros to sing with daughter, and an accomplished pre-teenager that wants to expand her repertoire to include rock ’n roll. The student before me exits each week with a huge smile on her face and her electric guitar strapped across her back. For anyone reading this that has a desire to learn guitar or bass - make the call - you won’t regret it.As for the retail portion of Guitar Nook, the shop is constantly busy with both sales and repairs. Johnie and Nelson take tremendous pride in their customer service and the work they do. I began with an older acoustic that they did a fabulous (and affordable) job of repairing. I have added an electric guitar to my collection and am appreciative of the time and care that was spent to match me to the right instrument.I am lucky - the shop is just a matter of blocks away from my home - but, if it wasn’t, I would make the drive. My only wish is for them to get a better sign out front so that more folks know to stop on by.

I had a big show coming up and my guitar was giving me issues. He was able to fix it within 24 hours and the guitar was given back in amazing condition. He is also super friendly and knowledgable. I highly recommend this spot!!

Absoluterly terrible guitar tech... Hired him to re-work the sottering on my guitar. I showed him the back open so that he could have a solid idea of how difficult it would be and that no surprises would show up. First we agreed on $40 cash (which is not only more expensive than guitarcenter but I would assume he wanted cash so that he could avoid the owners cut). He said that he would call me in two days max... I called the third day and said that it was $50. Also said that the guitar was done yesterday and so I went to pick it up. He shows that the potentiometer (volume knob) wasnt working and that he didnt really check it.... after suttering the electronics... Anyway he says that hell work on it and the day after I pick up the guitar (without the old potentiometer) and once I start recording with it, the know feels super loose... low and behold the picture provided...Listen I love competition and its the main reason why I went here. But do yourself a favor and avoid the guitar tech....

Best guitar setup I’ve ever had! I brought in one of my guitars which had a severe case of “Floyd Rose-itis,” the bridge was off and it just wouldn’t stay in tune no matter what I did. Johnny got it perfectly back in tune and intonated. The Floyd Rose bridge is now positioned perfectly to the body and I’ve been playing it for a day, dive bombs and all, and it’s just rock solid and tuned to perfection. He did a superb job; a total pro at what he does. If you need a setup done, this is THE place to go. Thanks Johnny for all your help! 🙏🏼

Johnny has been modding a few of my guitars. I bought an Epiphone Casino Coup and replaced the pickups, nut, tuners and strings.Sounds like a Beast from the 60s now.

The sales rep was one of the nicest people Ive ever met, and he repaired my guitar issue in such a jiffy. I was barely out the door by the time he handled it personally. I would give this place 6 stars if I could.

This is a good place for guitar lovers, anything for your guitar, even classes if you are interested.Just is not a big sign to let you know is there, be aware about it. Ask the guy there for help he was very good helper, im pretty sure he will do the same to you.

Such great service. Repairs were on par (at a much lower price than guitar center) and timely. I lost the tubing piece on my guitar and replace it with a different one (a white piece instead of the manufacturer solver). I didn’t even request it to be changed, just wanted the truss rod and action altered and I just noticed that it was changed. Great service!

Shoutout Jonny for helping me fix someissues I’d been having with my classical guitar. I will be back in the future and will recommend my friends to come for any of their guitar needs.

This is a great store. They have a lot of Fenders, some nice Gretsch pieces, and even a chess club!! Johnny is super on point with repairs. He is knowledgeable, efficient and affordable. Local and visiting musicians should be aware of this place.

Honest! Im a novice and brought my guitar here for a set up. The attendant played my guitar and after a thorough 5 min inspection he concluded that my guitar didnt need any work done to it. He could have easily taken my money and done nothing to guitar and I would have been none the wiser. We need more businesses like Guitar Nook.

I ask to buy a pedal and I had tree days to get it. I couldnt go to the shop because when I was buying the item, I was in other country. All the deal has made by email. They confirmed very fast if they could get the pedal, and when I paid it, they delivered it in early hours of the day. Bernardo was very helpful, and answered me very fast every mail that I have written. I hope to meet the market when I travel to miami and buy something else.

One sales rep was extremely dismissive.I gave them a second chance with a repair. The second rep was nicer, but misquoted me on the repair at a very low price. After doing the work, he told me it was more.He compromised.Unfortunately, the work (saddle/intonation set) was done without glueing the saddle at all, so it was never actually set, the work was never actually done. I basically got a glorified string change.

This place is the epitemy of what a good music store should be: a great owner who is kind and friendly to everyone who enters through the door, plenty of guitars, basses, merch, pedals, and cables to try and buy,and repairs, setups, and general luthiering work available to be done.I would recommend that anyone in Miami or even in Florida should visit this store one day

Jonny is the heart of this beautiful quaint retail store in the North Miami area. Conveniently located, they offer lessons, guitar tech/repair, and lessons. I recently taken the guitar up again after a hiatus, and this place is just perfect for me! I recommend anyone who has a passion for music, and for guitar to visit this gem of a place. Jonny was able to setup my Fretlight, and my Steinberger guitars (two instruments that are not the easiest to work with) perfectly. 5+ stars.

Bernardo was especially helpful and quick to respond to all my emails. Got my product on time and in perfect shape, even though i was organising for a friend to pick up for me, as I do not live in the states.
