U-Haul Storage of North Dorchester on Dorchester Road in North Charleston is a great place to go for all things storage needs. They make everything very simple and easy to set up and access when you need it. The staff here is very accommodating and makes sure that you have everything you need.

I called U-Haul and made a reservation in advance. My son needed to move some things locally. We had no trouble with picking up a truck everything went very smoothly. My only complaint is that the 19.99 dollar truck ASAP costing you $68. We only had it for about 3 hours and were driving it a short distance but after you pay the mileage and the insurance which you are totally scared into buying even if you do not buy it initially you receive an email telling you of all the terrible things that could happen and how you would be responsible so you end up buying it so for 3 hours worth of truck moving it ended up costing us $68. I guess thats not too bad but its nowhere near the 19.99 that is advertised. Be associate that helped us was well trained and had us in a truck very quickly when we returned to the truck that also was a quick process.

They are the best the Lady that was there she was awesome.

Unfortunately my hitch was incorrectly installed which delayed our departure for a cross country move. My husband actually had to make two trips to am auto parts store and a Lowes to get the necessary equipment to fix the companys mistakes. I will say on a positive note that our trailer was ready to be picked up earlier than expected which was nice.

Very helpful had what I needed to finish a move that the hired moving company couldnt do. Wouldnt have happened without them! Thank you!!

Service was wonderful and they were open on Easter Day in the office ready and willing to help. Truck was spotless and smelled fresh and clean . Upon returning they greeted me at the truck making my return simple and fast . This was the best experience with U-Haul I’ve ever had . Thank you and I will use again

Came here rented a truck received very good service from the woman in the office.

Really good selection of trucks and trailers to rent. They also have other moving supplies available to our purchase like boxes and moving tape.

Employee was totally useless. When I asked where the van was that I rented he said over there and pointed to a line of five vans. He said he was off work. And went back in th office.

5 stars for the user friendly website-1 star for the truck not being ready upon arrival making me 25 min late for my pickup-2 stars for the $25 “cleaning fee” AFTER the truck was inspected and the attendant didn’t mention that was an upcoming charge. I could’ve folded the three moving blankets.$25 to fold moving blankets and the attendant said you should’ve read the sign inside the truck. Negative stars for being a condescending human.

Its September 4, 2020 hottest day in Charleston.. I waited for a hour with no dam service. A nasty environment and a general manager who was no dam help.. I have a account been a loyal customer but, Uhaul can go to help now..

In my past experiences, this has been pleasant and smooth. Today’s overall experience was very unpleasant, cold, unfriendly, forced and aggressive. Everything I asked my representative, another representative (young white lady) chimed in very sarcastically and was very rude. I have always come here for a uhaul; however, in the future I will likely avoid this location. Three stars only because even though the representative who helped me was short and not very hospitable, she was kind enough to take my tv box and put it inside the uhaul and put my dolly in there. I will likely drop off overnight and pay the additional $20 to simply avoid the miserable attitudes they have. The nasty mood in there made it hard to breathe, anxious and uncomfortable. The last thing you want to worry about when you are about to move and are already stressed about moving.

Not even worth one star. Had stuff in one of there storage units for 6 to 7 months. When we unloaded it we notice a smell. When we got to New place unpacking everything. All of our electronic equipment (Xbox, tvs, DVD players, etc..) was all damaged. Their units we found out leak, and they do not let the people renting from them know. Never will use them again, and will let everyone I know not too. Horrible,horrible place...

Rented a 10 foot truck today and the front desk clerk said the truck needs to be back at 3/4 full of gas. Brought back with 7/8 (more) just under full and the dude says it has to be topped off. Told him that I was told to bring back at 3/4. After a blank stare I left got $10 more gas and dropped off. I Never again rent from this location I rent a lot for my business but never again from here.

I needed a storage unit and a U-Haul Vehicle for a last minute move. The U-Haul Associates were so helpful and friendly! They went over and above to provide me with the best customer service I have ever experienced. I highly recommend this location to anyone who needs storage/rental moving vehicle needs! Very Happy!

This place is horrendous and ruined my entire weekend. I made a reservation for a truck with a utility dolly, furniture dolly, and 1/2 dozen furniture pads. I made the reservation at 2pm, I go to pick up my truck and the staff member tells me they have no furniture dolly at that location. They initially direct me to one location and halfway through my trip to that location, I get a call that states that location doesn’t have a dolly either, and to go to another location, in the opposite direction of where I’m going, 6 miles away in rush hour traffic. Half way to that location, I call to make sure they have a dolly, and sure enough they didn’t either. Completely apathetic customer service with no empathy and a total F you attitude. Steer clear of this place.

Bad service is the second time

Uhaul helped me find loaders and unloaders since my move was approximately 250 miles. They have a program to recycle your used boxes [in reusable condition] so you can take a box then bring your empty boxes back for the next person. I loaded all my boxes that were either reused or Chick-fil-a boxes. [Hint hint, ask any Chick-fil-a and they will give their great food boxes for you to use]. My moved using Uhaul saved me more than $1000 doing it myself.

Great staff! Will really stepped in and helped me out in a time of need. He personally helped me choose a trailer and hooked it up and installed it himself. That kind of customer service is what we need more of! Thank you Will/U-Haul

Ashely was super helpful and patient with my last-minute UHaul truck rental. I will definitely use this location in the future.

The truck was at a this location, instead of the one I ordered it from, however the lady i picked it up from was pleasant. The alignment was off and the engine had issues. Still it worked for the day. Upon returning I filled it to where it was, plus some. I was STILL charged for fuel. The manager argued over a fuel amount of less than 1 gallon and charged me. She was very unpleasant. I would NOT recommend them to others.

Box options available here as well as padding. Prices are lower than Lowes. Staff is very helpful.

Easy to rent a truck. Very simple and smooth operation.

Charged me triple what i was supposed to be for a car trailer. Because they are understaffed and have an hour long line they want to charge me for another day even though i was there well before the time i was supposed to be. Called them waited on the phone for 30 mins the lady told me she wouldnt be able to help me unless i am buying something. Forwarded me to customer service 45 mins latee they refund part of it and sait it can take up to 10 days. Asked them about the overdraft fees they caused by overcharging me and basically said its not their problem. Dont think i will be using any uhaul after this. It would of been less of a headache to pay a tow truck $300 to tow the car for me than deal with these crooks. VERY POORLY RAN.

Be aware...if you reserve dollies or any moving equipment, it won’t be there. Extremely poor customer service!

I had a good experience with this U-Haul. My complaints are due to the extreme weather that we were enduring on the day of my move. The lot in which I was meant to leave my personal vehicle while I rented U-Hauls truck was very prone to flooding and I did not feel comfortable leaving my vehicle there. I think this business would benefit from taking better care of their clients vulnerable cars.

Out of control prices

Michelle the Manager and Amber the employee. Both of them lied to me about the equipment the rent and how they rent it. Then to top it off they refuse to answer your calls, meanwhile you have twelve people coming to move you and NO TRUCK!!They basically rent you what they dont have and then let the corporate scheduling dept. call you and tell you tough luck,NO TRUCK the day before your move. The people, and the company sucks! RUN!! Stars -10

Some things are to high

Was quick and easy

Would be nice if they opened on time, supposed to open at 7am, at 5 after two employees drive up, sit in their cars for a few min then wander to the door past several of us waiting walk in and lock it behind them, 10 min later they open. Even after they open they were unorganized and slow, I did the express check in and still had to do all the paperwork as a normal check in. When we we hooked the trailor several lights didnt work, he said thats ok in SC you dont need trailor lights and walked away, I didnt get his name but he was a tall thin black guy. Its a great location but think Ill goto the one at Dorchester rd and 526, its further but they seem more professional.

This place will do a time bait and switch and ruin your weekend! Booked for 7AM and then the day before, they said the van will be ready by 11:30. I needed to be 100 miles away by 11 to move into the dorm.

Its a well kept location and the staff is very helpful.

If I could rate this place with zero stars, I would! Ashley, the manager, is the rudest person I have ever dealt with, ever! TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE customer service!!!!!! So unprofessional and inefficient!!!

I literally went to 6 minutes away an it cost me 33$ to move a 6 chest drawer didn’t even move the gas needle. Everything went well I just think that the prices are high for little to no movement distances.

Waited 2 weeks to move in. When I did, I had to go in the office because my key fob didnt work. Waited an hour to talk to someone only to find out that they had no recollection of me renting a unit out. I was pushed away and told to come back the next day and talk to a manager....

Constantly out of propane. Poor customer service. Had to wait for the representative to get off the phone while having a conversation that should have been private

All was well with the exception of the after hours check in. The website wasnt working.

THE YOUNG LADY WITH THE RED HAIR IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE. SHE TRYS TO OVER RIDE THE OTHER EMPLOYEES VERBAL AGREEMENT. I WILL MAKE SURE SHE DOESNT GET ANOTHER JOB IN THIS FIELD.
