What a bad deal I got I reserved a 26ft truck over a month ago and got ran around for a truck telling me they were waiting for parts and they would figure something out then I get a truck from another location which wasnt the 26 ft I needed for my move and it was a total disaster didnt get my 26 ft and the first truck they gave me at the king St location had a engine light on and running bad they swapped it out for a nother 20 ft and it was stuck in towing mode and it definitely had transmission problems so my 1500 trip was a disaster I would not recommend this facility I would highly recommend the u-haul on union credit road off Rivers avenue I got my tow dolly from there and everyone was very professional not like these other stores
Came in to purchase boxes and also considering a rental. The owner Salvador De Anda was assisting another customer and it took almost an half an hour before he could assist me. During which I asked if there was anyone else that could assist me and he said yes, but they were occupied with checking in equipment. When he finally helped me his nonchalant attitude and disregard for my valuable time put me off from getting a rental truck also. He even refused to offer an apology for making me wait and didn’t seem to care that I will be going with Penske instead. Which is what I suggest you do too. Save your valuable time and go where you’re appreciated.
Just picked up at this location. They had plenty of equipment and Porcha was great! Justin the manager was also very supportive and helpful. Great location.
The worst experience I have ever encountered.I needed to move back to Massachusetts for a job I took/pregnancy. ( I explained to the lady I needed to be home by the 22nd of August)I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to get a hitch on my car then to rent a trailer. I then get a call at 5pm the night before my appointment saying they don’t have the parts for my car and won’t have it till next week.I desperately had to find a new place to get a hitch within 2 days. Luckily bubbas came to my rescue and warned me about Uhuals track record. I will NEVER go here again. I tried contacting to speak to the manager numerous times and no answers.I rather walk to Boston then go here again

Its cheaper to get propane than exchange. Variety of packing supplies. Numerous storage options. Easy access off of interstate. Helpful staff.
I waited about 15 minutes while the people in front of me struggled to have their problems fixed. That wasn’t terrible, (stuff happens). I get my chance at the window. The associate takes my information. She says she’s sending a text message for me to take pictures of my license. (Standard procedure in the Covid era I assume?) I follow the link, take a picture of the front of my license. I click to scan the back of my license. It won’t scan, because I have an old license and the barcode is worn. I show the associate the license.“Yeah that won’t work. You need another license.”“There’s nothing I can do? No manual way of doing this?”“No.”I understand protocol, but the lack of any attemptto help was beyond frustrating.

The website was very informative and the live chat helped quickly answer all the questions I had. My appointment to add a hitch to my car was created and paid for online three days before the actual appointment.Upon arriving to the location, I was informed that the man who was supposed to add my hitch was not at the location and they would call him. 10 minutes after the start to my appointment, a U Haul worker informed me that he is now on his way and should get to work in another 10-15 minutes.15 minutes later (25 minutes after my appointment slot), the worker was not present. 40 minutes later (50 minutes after my appointment slot), the worker was not present. I checked with the desk people, they said he was here working on my car but never checked in with me. He took the keys off the wall, accessed my car, drove it to the work area, and started work on it without any contact with the owner.Once it was done, the person who worked on my car asked if I was the person waiting on the hitch and walked out of the building. I scrambled to get my things together, unsure whether I should follow, go to the desk, or do something else. I scurried out of the building and saw my car with the hitch. The man gave me my keys and my warranty, said have a nice day, and walked away to go talk to another worker.At the end of the day, I got my hitch put on in less than an hour and half. The rating would be much higher with more communication, timeliness, and consideration taken by the company.
The staff is very good here. In particular I would like to praise the equipment person that helped me with the auto transport carrier. Her name is Portia, I believe. She had outstanding customer service skills and assisted me professionally during a period of lightning in the area.
It has always been what of the worst place to rent a truck from I am not rented a truck from u-haul in years so I say l wood give them another try 1st of all if you reserve a truck and somebody comes in before you get there and they can make more money off the truck, because the person s on is going more miles then you they will give it to that person So just forget about making a reservation.So i rented a truck this weekend to go to Mount Pleasant and back to Hollywood when I get on the mark clark the air condition is not working So I went ahead finish my day, because it was cool that morning so rolled down the windows my that afternoon it got hot so I went ahead and did what I had to do,l get back there told the guy the AC wasnt working he said too bad you should have brought the truck back

Got there to pick up a transport. Brake lights didn’t work and they told us we could still use it and it’d be fine.. first off, that’s very dangerous and second, it’s also illegal in the states we were going to travel to. This was the ASSISTANT MANAGER telling us this. We then get told to go 20 miles down the road to another place that has the transport but it’s 45 minutes from our house where we have to go back to get my fiancé’s car. We didn’t have that kinda time to go that out of our way and wait for them to hook it up and load it and travel all the way back since we spent an hour and a half there already and had movers scheduled. Also forgot to mention I STILL got charged for the transport even after we were told we’d get a full refund on the transport and a 50 dollar refund for a reservation guaranteed, and 50 extra miles on the truck. So I ended up having to leave my car in Charleston and get a one way plane ticket back to pickup my car and drive it to Tennessee where we moved. We called several times and talked to the same assistant manager who was VERY rude and Denied ever saying any of it and just called us liars. I do not recommend this place and the only upside was after two week we finally got ahold of the GM and she was very kind, gave us our full refund plus everything originally promised. I suggest they check their vehicles and trailers before they try to give them to their customers, worry about their safety instead of letting them leave with trailer with no break lights and not have an assistant manager who’s as rude and bad with the public as the one they have now.

Great experience with Michael and Eric at U-Haul! We moved across the country and got to the storage facility an hour before they were set to close. Our couch didnt fit in the first storage unit they assigned us, so Michael and Eric stayed late in order to help us get into a new unit and made sure our couch fit before leaving. They also called the site manager to make sure the new unit was able to be used, and he answered the call and responded quickly! Nobody wants to stay late, but we sure appreciated it.

Really nice and helpful guys. I rented a pickup truck from this location for about 2 hours. Pretty much a brand new pickup. Very clean, roomy, a/c, nice acceleration when needed. And the price was right (no pun intended). 😎
These guys are great!!!! We needed a trailer for our motorcycle AND help securing the bike in the trailer. Mike and crew were incredibly helpful. The pure epitome of professionalism and customer service. Wed recommend this u haul location to anyone.

I rented an appliance dolly for two days. I called the location before returning it because I was going to miss the drop off window by about an hour. They initially said they were going to charge me for a third day because I went passed two 24 hour periods, so I kept it for and used it for a few items. When I ended up taking it in, they just charged me for the two days. Thanks UHAUL!
We are moving cross country and this uhaul location was incredibly helpful!! They installed a hitch within 15 minutes, hooked us up with a great trailer and had us ready to go within an hour. Service was quick, the guys were professional and we left confident in our move.
Make sure to inspect the vehicle very thoroughly. They will charge you for damages that were already there.

Called to reserve a trailer and have the hitch installed. By the time we got off the phone I realized she didnt schedule my hitch install. Called back a couple hours later due to movers currently at the home and when I did they then said they couldnt install it before I pick up the trailer. Lets do the math here, how am I to pick up a trailer without a hitch?! Called uhaul customer service in hopes of help but they were just as bad.
Really sad I get my vehicle to install a hitch trailer and after 2 hour they tell me they can’t install for any” reason “ what they self invented and when I get home I see inside my car and I find they take down my dewalt toolsI called to the manager and he say he’s employees never open my car when they try to install the wiring por the hitchI’m so angry 😡😡

After horrible treatment at two other Uhaul locations in the Charleston area, I decided to give it one more try with this location. From the very start, this location showed that they were miles above the other locations. I received a confirmation email from the manager immediately after reserving the truck online. When I showed up to get the truck, I was greeted by friendly, professional staff and was quickly waited on and on my way with my truck. Upon returning the truck, the process took all of thirty seconds and when I got home, I had a receipt in my email inbox that showed where I was REFUNDED $5.24 of the estimated total that was charged to my card. These guys should be training other Uhaul employees! I am very demanding and am most often, dissatisfied with customer service most places, so it is very rare that I give such high praise

Call to find out if they had a trailer for rent in a certain size and it took me 10 minutes to find out they didnt have it. Why would you need to ask all those questions to answer before they can tell you they dont have it
Had an appointment to pick up a trailer at 7am, they showed up at 9am, no apologies, lost 2 hours of my day waiting for them. Management is really bad!

UHaul is just like when you go to the doctors office. Your appointment is at 9am but you get there early to fill out paper work. You wait in the waiting room for 20-30 then you go to the room then wait another 20-30. What’s the purpose of making an appointment for a truck at the location closest to you if they can’t give you what you lined up? Basically, they can simply make more money by making you pick up further away from your preferred location sense you pay by the miles. I would of gone with someone else but they decided to tell me this a day before the appointment.
