Murphy Express on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston is one of my go to places to fill up and get some drinks and snacks when I am in the area. They always seem to have some of the lowest gas prices in the area and that is always well worth a stop in itself. The inside is well stocked with quality snacks that work well when you are hungry and need something fast. I have been a happy customer coming here for a while.

I be in car wreck and I called asking for pricing for my daughter to get me cigs they were rude. I asked how much and the guy was nasty told me to send all my money.I choice to pay more money to another store

I started using this gas station a few years back. They have the lowest price youll ever find in North Charleston. I dont go inside much. I see a lot of bad reviews about the associates attitudes and have to think that the reviewers are probably just as responsible for the outcome.

Place is filthy. Closed at 5:50 claiming there was a curfew at 6pm. Employees blocked traffic with dollies putting drivers attempting to turn Into the store in grave danger because their vehicles were hanging out into lanes on rivers avenue. Every other store on rivers avenue was open except this establishment. I will never shop here again!!! EVER!!!!!!

This is the worst gas station Ive ever been to. I had to change pumps 3x because the card read er wouldnt read my card on one and my card wouldnt fit in the other one. Also half the pumps were taken up by empty cars. And there are lines around the pumps. I will not be getting gas here again

This Murphy Express serves a large African American customer base. However when some of the community leaders and youth staged a Stop the Violence march in the community and stopped at the Murphy to buy the kids some cold drinks, the store manager aka #GasStationGail, called 911 on the group for no reason at all. I will not patronize this business and am encouraging others to do the same. Open, deliberate racism has no place in our society. Our kid, our communities, our nation deserves so much better than this. Murphy Express - do the right thing!

Please IGNORE the negative reviews about this gas station. YES i agree it was totally wrong for the former gas station manager to call 911 on the group of kids that what they were trying to do that day. that was the former managers issue and not the gas station in general. there are great people that works there that had nothing to do with what went on that day. i do not work there, i am just trying to promote a friendly place and cheap place to go get gas. the best place in town to go.

To the young lady working behind the counter tonight: I really feel its safe to assume when you took an aptitude test, nowhere on the list could it have said you should work with people because of your wonderful attitude and knowledge of basic math. If the results DID say that, I think you got the wrong persons results. Saying hello and cracking a smile is Working With the Public 101.My suggestion is for you to work with plants or maybe a tree service company because anywhere else where you are required to speak to people, with your attitude, you wouldnt make it long enough to collect your 1st paycheck.

Houston we have a problem: Murphys Express service station only let me pump 19.71 in gas during fill-up and then turns around and puts a hold on my debit card just because I used it AS a debit at the pump. So now I have to wait 24-48 hours for my funds return to my bank account. I called my bank and they said that lots of gas joints are doing this now, when they set a maximum amount of fill-up at about $150 and place a hold on debit cards/ accounts until the difference is returned to the debit card. They also told me that had I selected the credit card option at the pump (even though its not) that this would have been avoided. This is my longest post ever. Murrays Express on Rivers Ave. (Near College Park Rd.) You have lost a customer ......Woosah....(exhale)😑💨🚫

The ABSOLUTE worst place to ever stop and get gas. The manager is racist and likes to call police on Black people who are just trying to get snacks. I no longer feel comfortable coming to this gas station because i fear, i will be targeted next. Very disappointed. The white woman in the video should be fired and offer a public apology. “Murphy USA is aware of a situation on Oct. 14 at our North Charleston, South Carolina, Murphy Express location at 8599 Rivers Avenue. Approximately 30–40 people were gathered outside the location at the conclusion of a local community event. Safety issues arose due to people, many of which were young children, being in and around the flow of store traffic, and disruptions to the business were caused by an external emergency fuel stop button being struck numerous times, which shut down all fuel pumps at our site. A Murphy USA employee approached the group and requested they leave the premises. After members of the group refused to leave the premises, a call was made to law enforcement. At this time, Murphy USA is reviewing the situation and the response with our team.”

I was going there to purchase some beer for me and my girls mother. My girl is under 21 but she helped me carry it to the register and she asked to see both of IDs. I was paying for but because she touched it I couldnt buy it. Some black girl with braids on the right register at 4:40pm. I am also black so this is not a racial thing at all. I had never been in there b4 and I live right down the street and trust me I wont go in there again.

Racist staff with no respect for it customer! Unless you want to not to be stared at & followed while shopping and have your money thrown at you dont spend your money here...

Yeah most of the time i dont have issue but here recently i noticed the employees have gotten an attitude and outside is dirty. Then they are slow at wrong time during rush hour when people wanna get in and out fast. There is alot of room for improvement.

Reading previous reviews on here is sad Everytime I go into the gas station the staff is always smiling and friendly they also try there hardest to keep it as clean as possible despite how busy the place is.

Offer the best gas prices in town but always busy and parking lot is small so navigating through here is dangerous. Good place to stop for morning coffee.

Recently saw a posting of one of your Managers turning away law abiding customers for having a Stop the Violence walk is she crazy you need to hire appropriate staffing who is versitile in dealing with all walks of life and knows how to make better decisions and choices

The manager needs to be let go- she does not care about her community and is willing to turn money away. Take you money elsewhere

Some of the cheapest prices around North Charleston. However you may never get a receipt at the pump and will almost always have to go inside and wait in line to get one. Can be a pain if you are in a hurry or need it for business expense.

Rude cashiers! I didnt have my ID ok, but when I send my husband back in to buy HIS smokes, I dont smoke, and you wont sell them to him with his ID and you let us wait in line to tell us that your a jerk. I will not be going back again and I was spending $300 a month easily on smokes and gas at this location

Because of their low price, this place is always busy. Be aware that you may have to be in queue for an available pump, and people can get fussy if you are blocking their way, even when you cant do much about it.

Horrible horrible horrible!!! Very rude cashiers, Everytime. Ive been trying for 2 weeks to get a product here, each time Im told its on a truck, I come when the truck comes in, then Im told the truck messed up the order, when normally, this product is in the back. When i ask the cashiers to go check, Ive had them literally roll their eyes and tell me no. So much for any kind of customer service.

Do they ever check their pumps for skimming devices? My card information has been stolen TWICE, after paying for gas at the pump.
