Service Dept is EXCELLENT! Roger went that extra step to make sure to diagnose exactly whats wrong and then fixed it at a reasonable price. Because of that I had him perform more service work on that vehicle and Im now having multiple repairs done on two of my other family vehicles that Id been putting off, and Ive been recommending him to EVERYONE.I havent bought a car from Northwoods but will definitely give them a look in the future when my younger kids need a first car. As for the reviews about bad cars or lemons -- Folks, youre buying cars that generally are 10 years old or more, or have a lot of miles on them. Stuff breaks, and its not predictable. Once a car gets over 100k miles, you might as well figure on spending an average of $100-$150 a month on repairs (average meaning nothing for several months and then $500 one month, etc.). Keep that in mind when determining what you can afford for a monthly payment, as well as when they offer you a service contract. You might even consider negotiating a tune-up and changing all the belts and filters into the purchase. And please always remember to change your oil regularly after purchasing. Im sure Roger and Northwoods would do that for you at a reasonable price.

The whole sales staff is great! Not pushy, let me shop at my own pace. Even got my mom to come by and snag a car for herself. If they can convince her of a deal you know you found the right place!

Awful customer service! This place is a scam and all they want is money! They don’t care about the quality of the vehicles they sell or about customer service!! I would not recommend doing business here at all!!!! I purchased a vehicle (gave 3000 in cash) not even a week ago two days later the brakes started grinding really bad, took it back and now they want 100 bucks to even look and see what’s wrong with it and then they want me to pay to get it fixed! The owner himself is not willing to compromise or meet me halfway on anything! He just wants more money. The funny thing is I was going to come back in a month get a vehicle for my daughter but I’ll never do business here again. And I’m going to make sure non of my family or friends do. Now I’m trying to find someone (because I refuse to give them another penny) to repair rotors and brakes on a vehicle I just purchased 5 days ago.

BEWARE❗️TREAD LIGHTLY.Put a down payment on a pick up. Engine went out less than 2 weeks of driving. They did offer an extended warranty contract to purchase, which I did. Michelle told me that I needed to pay for half of the repair up front and that it will be a two week process. This was on May 28th. There was very little communication about the repair. I called and left several messages. At this point I contacted an attorney and of course now, the truck is magically repaired and ready Aug. 2nd. By now, I’ve already had to purchase another vehicle and no longer needed this vehicle. All I wanted returned was half of the repair because Michelle told me this was a 2 week turn around and they know she told me this and they know she was wrong for telling me this. Now I’m out of the down payment and the repair money but I won’t be for long.

Mr German is a good easy guy to deal with and I thank him for his patience. The boss excepted a fair offer and did all the paperwork needed to drive home on a Saturday. I wont have to do any DMV stuff. Very professional.

Purchased a 2013 BMW 530i and test drove it for 3 weeks before signing contract . After I signed my name 5 days later my vehicle broke down with close to 4k dollars in repairs. To all of my Supporters, Endorsements and loyal fans from every loving Bone I have in my body if you come to Charleston south Carolina do not purchase a vehicle from this place unless you are trying to put yourself in a worse situation. I purchased a Mercedes Benz from this dealership a week ago. The asking price was very reasonable and the vehicle its self was well taken care of. The sale process was very smooth and Darryl was very efficient in making sure I understood all my options. Theyre not trying to take your head of with the prices and genuinely want to see you in something you can afford. 5 days later there was an issue with the vehicle. Decent cars but way overpriced! There are a lot of hidden policies, regulations and fees that they dont tell you about because they just want to hurry and get you in car. Once you are off the lot that same great customer service and eagerness to help is gone!!! Dont bother calling up there, they never answer the phone or they put you on hold for long periods of time. Love the vehicles just not the company!

Darrell is awesome and always there to help. This is my second time purchasing a vehicle but this time things r different. If u call and let them know ur situation (financial and that u need more time to pay) they say they will make note but being 30 days late is cause for a repo. What does a customer do if they ask for more time?

I should be able to get my $1000 deposit back, due to mislead information. I brought a car in the past from you all and it went smooth. I got a second car and return it due to miss led information. These new staff is something else. Mr. Darrell is awersome, but these new staff is something else

Me and my husband got our 2007 Chevy suburban from them about 3 months ago. They were super nice and friendly, and joked around the whole time. I highly recommend them to anyone. They even fixed the crack in the windshield that was there when we got it.

I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased my vehicle but I was desperate. Its been nothing but a run around from the start. The first issue came when I decided to cancel my warranty so much until I finally just called the warranty company and took care of it myself. I was told when that happened the money would be applied towards my principal balance which I almost a year later no one can tell me if that actually happened or not. Not to mention they wont allow me to apply that towards t amount that is due which any decent bank would do. Flash forward I was late on a payment which caused my car to be repossessed which I take responsibility for. I called to get the amount owed so that I can pay it to get my car back yet again I was given the run around. First I was told that I can pay what I have now then pay the rest and then I was told no you have to pay in full sorry. And then I asked when I pay you can I go and get my car after you contact the tow company I was told no only to have them tell me that its exactly what needs to be done. Honestly I cant wait to pay this car off so that I can be done with them.....never again. And its to bad that once I get my commission I can only pay two months in advance. Long store short I should have read the reviews first because they are right once they have your money the could careless about you as a customer.Update - After everything was said and done I ditched the hunk of junk and never looked back. What I didn’t mention in the original post was that the car had a faulty fan so there for the car would run hot within min of the car being idle. Long story short it just wasn’t worth the stress not to mention that the tow company wouldn’t even answer my calls when I attempted to pay them for the vehicle storage. Thankfully I know have reliable that has zero issues. Which thankfully they have nothing to do with.

They have a pretty good inventory will say they need better mechanics brought a 2011 charger with a known engine knock vechicle had 2 bad rocker arms drove it to local parts store had new part install in 45mins... Good purchase on my behalf....

The guy who approached me on the yard was extremely nice, He really seemed like he was trying to help me find a car, and not just sell me one. The finance guy seemed he could care less. This car seller has a minimum payment of 275$ which to me is just dumb. They did have nice cars. Their mechanics are straight forward. 5 stars if their fiance people seemed like they knew what they were talking about sometimes.

I use to live in Charleston and worked for Boeing. One of the Inspectors I worked with told me about North Woods and told me to talk to Darrel the owner. I bought several cars from him over the years and he always treated me fairly and with respect. This is hard to find in the car business. I would highly recommend them to anyone they treat you like family. I would buy there again if I lived in Charleston.

Was told they would work with my 1500.00 down payment ..went several times and told them I was coming back today to get the deal done ...I was lied to . The sales manager whom I had never met nor spoken with was the only person there and treated me like I was dumb or wasn’t told the things I mentioned by the owner. Don’t work with their customers when they’re having financial difficulty. You try to keep in contact with them but it’s extremely difficult to get them on the phone. Judging by the other comments, this problem seems to be apart of nearly all the issues with this business.

If you are looking for a buy here pay here lot with a big selection, this is probably a good choice. No pressure, the gentleman introduced himself, explained how to read their codes on the windows, and told us they have a no pressure policy. He gave us a card with his cellphone number and told us that if we wanted to drive something to just call him and he would bring the keys. Pretty impressive. However, we were looking for a decent SUV that we could pay for with cash. Their cash car line was not very impressive. If you need place that will finance you no matter your credit, this might be your lot. Most cars are 2k down.

We brought my husbands care to be serviced by their service department. We were working with Roger. He is awesome!! We were told by AAA that the car needed $1400 for bearings on the car so because of the age of the car we got a few estimates and Roger quoted a much better price more than half less than AAA! So we took the car there and we were shocked when Roger called and said there was nothing wrong with the bearings and that what it needed was less than $275!! I will only take my car there from now on for repairs!! I never thought I would find an honest auto shop but I did!! Thanks Roger!!

They soldme A lemon and tried to place it as my own fault. They sold me a car that less than 24 hours of having the car the check engine light comes on it needed major repairs left me stranded a few times and they refused to allow me to trade it in or anything helpful. If your buying a car from these people (specifically the one on Dorchester Rd) please be knowledgeable about cars and be sure you don’t buy a lemon like I did.

My husband was looking for a nicely used pickup truck with 4 doors. We have purchazed vehicles from brand named lots but was treated poorly when he didnt want to spend $30,000 on what he wanted. Ed helped him find a 2007 Avalanche with everything he wanted for $10,000 and Duke took our trade in without an issue. Darrell was fun and energetic in the fina ding office and very informative. Interest is a little high but selection is awsome and no pressure plus they help find what you want.

I would not buy again. I took the car to a mechanic before I bought a car from them and I still have issues with the car. If you’re in the military, skip the hassle and lies. Just go somewhere else. You will pay more for the same car but probably have a lot less problems.

Most definitely Miss Dena who was the first person who greeted me with open arms as if I was family!!I told her of a 2011 Chevy Cruz LT that they had on their lot... And how I have been eye balling it for weeks, anywho she told me what was going on and they had a program going on as well!!! So with no hesitation I put some money down on it!!So my dream car wont be taken away me 😊😂!!! But at this moment still putting money down on it.. So I can drive off into the sunset with my Chevy! I will recommend them to any family and friends in the near future who might move here to Charleston South Carolina!!

Please go somewhere else. Dont let fancy talking and cars trick you. They only quick fix cars and it breaks down. When i was buying a car the engine light was on for thermostat and they said they will fix it and came back 10 mins later and said it was fixed all they did was turn off the engine light. Then wanted me to go threw warranty for $100 to fix it a week later when they had said they fixed it already. Do your research and find someone else or you will have a 90% chance in regretting your decision and losing all your deposit and money.

I have not yet made my first payment on my car and I am having transmission problems and an oil leak. I was told by Darrell that basically its my problem to pay to fix because Ive bought the car. They also sold me a car with almost bald tires. I picked up a nail and the technician told me there wasnt enough tread to plug it same with all 3 other tires. I have to pay 95 dollars for them to diagnose the problem at their own garage at the dealership officially then pay to have the problems fixed. Ive had my car just a month. Also signed up for their warranty and had called to see if I could change the date I was to put the downpayment on the warranty. I was told yes. When I took my car in to see about all these issues I was told I was behind in warranty payments that I was told had been changed. Darrell again told me I was not told that and that they dont change payment dates on warranties. Acted like I didnt know what I was talking about and I wasnt told what I was told. -Amanda M.
