Nice friendly staff very good prices as long as you dont get the warranties... kinfolk big money got it going on in there$$$...overall a very pleasant experience every time I come here man appreciate yall... Ive been to a lot of LKQ this is the best so far.... Manager a little stiff but he still listen to you and try to help
My experience here hasn’t always been the best but I always leave with what I came for. That said, this most recent visit was about as smooth as possible. Like always, a simple $3 to look around. The lady at the front checked us in and searched for the car we needed without me having to prompt anything. I’d already had it up from the webpage but she wanted to make sure it was still in the same spot. I got what I needed and went to check out which is sometimes a bit stressful. The gentlemen at the desk were all smiles with manners to go around. A fair price for a plastic part that I just wanted for aesthetic purposes. I had the price list from the website ready to go but it wasn’t necessary. The same service as before but with great execution. I can’t speak for the other services but as someone who read the reviews before going the first time, I figure it’s only right to highlight the good just as much.
Having a number of cars towed in to LKQ after an easy conversation on the phone I went to pick up the substantial checks for the non-functioning cars and incredibly the great guy who obviously enjoys his job in the Logistics and Accounting Office knew exactly who I was without me saying anything and knew the cars towed and where to find the paperwork immediately. He knows his job well and I will find out his name but he is in the second Finance Office. He deserves to be recognized as an on the ball and exceptional employee who is perfect for the job.
Great customer service! Thanks guys!
Great place to find parts but could use some improvement. The Charleston S.C. LKQ needs new wheelbarrows and every LKQ should take pictures of all side of the vehicle, interior picture from the passenger window to capture the seats, shifter and dash and finally an under hood picture.
They are better than a lot of junk yards they have their vehicles up off the ground to where you dont have to ask someone to lift it
They have a wide array of used cars. I didnt think they would have my car. Well they actually had 4 of them.
It was quick and easy 3$ to walk around and look for parts for my truck I needed. I was able to find the vehicle very easy. Even had a wheelbarrow I could use to haul my tools and parts. Pretty good experience.
Dealt with Ms. Cat today. She fixed a call center mishap and made my day so much smoother. Will definitely be visiting this site of LKQ for all of my scarp needs or part needs. A+ customer service and friendly service.
Well worth the price of admission.Harvest you own parts very reasonably priceing.
Easy layout to follow, reasonable prices.
I was a little skeptical after reading some bad reviews. However, I decided to get a quote for my undriveable 2003 van anyway. The entire process was very smooth. We got a quote which was good for seven days. After a few days, we called to accept the offer. They set up a tow for the next day. We received a call the next morning to confirm pick-up, and later that afternoon, the tow truck showed up and took the vehicle to the yard. We showed up to the yard shortly after the vehicle arrived. After a quick inspection, they cut us a check for the exact amount of the quote. Process could not have been easier. Thank you LKQ!
Had a car scheduled to be picked up from them. 10 minutes away from the pickup location I contacted the tow truck driver who told me to call him once I got there and had the car out of the gate. I called him 15 minutes later and he never answered for 2 hours. Finally got in touch with him at 2:45 and he said he would be there in 20-30 minutes. He never showed up and I waited another hour and a half and never hot a call back. Would never use again. If your selling a junk car go through blue and gold.
When ever I change up my vehicles, LKQ seems to have the donor parts that my used vehicle is missing. Back when I smoked my BLK Smooth Pipe Cigars, I would enjoy puffing on my cigar while searching through the bone yard for missing parts I needed. Returns are simple and hassle free. The staff is professional and alert. If you are into DIY repairs, this bone yard is safely organized and the patrons are usually cool if you forgot a wrench, you can always ask someone for their opinions or help. I love this place!
Good selection, good service, friendly people.
They charge for parts that come with them parts . paid almost new bumper price for a old used bumper . where they do that at
Awesome just love being there
Good place to get good used parts and tires
Great place if your looking for part on all makes and models.Need an engine or transmission? Darrel and the crew will pull for you!
Its better than some junkyards sc
LKQ is the truth! They got that good customer service and everything you may need. But if not they will let you know when and how to get it
For used parts they sure do got a little high price on some of them
Your part might be there and maybe not the only way to find out is to go and look have your tools in hand and get it when you find it if not it may be gone when you return
I love LKQ Ive been going here for many years.
Great place for parts
LKQ Self Service - Charleston is a great place to find auto parts for your car. This is one of the best values in the area for what you get versus what you pay. This place is well organized and managed as you are able to quickly find what you are looking for without much trouble. The staff here is friendly and laid back and they offer plenty of assistance. Overall this place is awesome for your car.
Zach is an awesome guy very polite an a great guy
Spent a long time on hold waiting, finally got a quote for selling my car, which runs and drives great, they guaranteed 300.00, drove it there. the guy didnt know jack, said my cadillac converter was missing, and my engine was bad, after driving it there, with temp gauge on low, changed the offer to 100.00, what joke, dont go, new engine in the car also. they are useless
I sold my van to LKQ got a fair price and the young lady who handed me my check gave me advice to call the DMV I would recommend LKQ to anybody good people fair prices
Pricing is very biased very unfair I was being charged for every single little item even some items that were broken they wouldnt even let me get a discount or anyting
Pull your own parts, with your own tools. Electric or manual tools only. They have wheel barrels, carts, and a couple engine hoist you can use. Cheap prices and 30 day warranties.
Good service. Computer system and on line program work good.
What a disaster.
Been here countless times. Its real easy people, walk in pay your 3 dollars, dont come near closing time unless your fast and its a simple removal! They warn early to get people finished up and out... Every time I buy things I pay what they ask and thats it-done. Easy, fast, good service. Seems like all you leaving bad reviews are idiots. Follow the rules
Gave the lady my 3$ to get in, signed in, she then asked me for the 3$ again claiming I never paid her, she was adamant about checking the drawer to make sure she had the money she just got done putting in the drawer but didnt remember doing. The yard itself was pretty well organized but didnt have what I needed. Way she goes. Definitely will NOT be my first choice for used auto parts
Needs to be cleaned up, a big mess
Nice people, decent service and a big selection of old cars. Couldnt find my specific car in the yard but still managed to find some useful parts and random things through some of the other cars. Its a 3 dollar entrance fee but it could be well worth it, come check it out!
I was able to find what I needed quickly, but it started raining
Nice staff
We went in looking for an instrument cluster to no avail.. we were talking with a few guys inside as we were leaving, and Marcus said he had something that might help us out. He brought back a cluster that was perfect! We saved $170.00! Thank you very much!
Horrible service the young female manager is rude and short with people
Not there fault if they dont have it. Its a pick your part yard. They dont get your part or allow rolling carts. They do however provide hoists and wheelbarrow s once your in..they are not there to be technicians but they do have a knowledgeable staff. Every part is backed and last I was there even electrical parts were exchangeable.. I dont go often but I will be there tomorrow for coil springs.. I know what I need to remove what I want and I will be done quickly because the yard is organized and maintained.. Not exactly a man Disney world but I am going to get my dad and walk the yard when I go.. The inventory turns over and vintage cars are almost non existent but anything common in the last twenty years is almost guaranteed. Im not a review type guy but Ive had a great experience ever time Ive been there.. Honest, no nonsense, courteous, and respectful staff.. Id give them five stars but nobodys perfect..
Want to much for the parts we needed to get the car running for a nice lady that needed help
Parts are picked before they hit the yardEmployees getting paid to save the good parts for dave from Pennsylvania takeing them off before you or me have a chance to get them..The rows are a messSomeone needs to clean this place up...
Best place in town to get used auto parts. And great customer service.
Clean lot with a Wide selection of parts. Went there today 45 mins before closing and gave them my 3 dollars to enter. 10 mins later they announce that the lot is closing. As I was walking out a lady stopped me and ask if I had been breaking windows. Apparently there was some kids breaking windows, and later found out they were my friends. Very unorganized customer service. Needs to be run better.
I go to LKQ fairly frequently and have been quite successful in finding the parts I need. Saves me quite a bit of money, especially on small items that are expensive new. It is a self-service junkyard though, not a parts store. This means they have no idea if the part you need is still on the car out in the yard. They also are not there to offer you diagnostics or mechanical advice. That is what self-service means. But the employees have always been fine - just follow the rules and dont be a jerk like so many people want to be. Also, check their website to make sure the car you need is there before going. Do your homework.
Awesome, I love the fact that I can go out and look at the part I may need myself instead of standing at a counter and waiting for an employee to return 15 to 30 mins later & it might not be what I need.Food for thought, when you go out there do yourself a favor and wear some good strong soled shoes (those boulders your gonna be walking on are killer).Woman, no disrespect but it will help you tremendously if you took a man with you that knows a Lil bit about what part your gonna be pulling off & having the correct tools. Hope this helps...
Got in and out without any issues.
Good for finding all of your car needs, but not to HANDICAP FRIENDLY! I walk with a cane and their lot i rock covered, so its not easy to walk out there. Also the guys that hang in there that will pull parts for you have no filter on there mouth, CUSSING LIKE SAILORS!!! I was in there with my wife and was totally disgusted.
For a guy who doesnt do car stuff very often, LKQ gave me the experience I hoped for. They were quick and to the point. I paid an admission fee, found my car in 2 minutes, got to work, got my part, brought it to the counter, paid a price you cant be anywhere, and I was on my way. Their staff is efficient and very friendly. I will be going back soon to get some more stuff. Looking forward to it!
I am a shop owner. I use LKQ all the time. If you are a smart consumer you will check inventory on the vehicle you are looking for. You can even check for compatibility at the register for the part you are looking for. That opens your car range to search even more. They offer warranties on these parts and a core also. Most auto salvage yards do not. Be respectful when you go in. I have watched people come and go. Customers can be nasty and pro-fain. remember you get what you give. If you have a question dont be scared to ask a person inside the building. There are part pullers out there but they are independent contractors. They are only about taking your money. Ask for a recommended parts puller. Those are the good ones. Do not be scammed. Always ask inside with a person at the counter or an LKQ employee. You get what you give is the most important thing to remember. I have dealt with them for approx 20 years. I have never had a problem.
Very helpful staff. The lady up front made sure I had a print out of what cars had compatible parts, and the rows were easy enough to find.
Steve and Derrell are always very friendly and helpful. Ive been going here 5 years now. I generally check the web to see if they have cars that have the parts I need, and most times, I find what I need. For a U pull yard, its better than most.
I accidentally left my tools here at the counter and made my way down to Georgia. Not only did they keep my tools safe but they actually mailed them back to me! The people working here actually appreciate our business and have treated us very well! Thank you guys
Great place to sell your car.
The first time i herd of LKQ was from a fellow employee who said it was a rip off. I decided to check it out for myself because I do a lot of my own work. Its not a rip off I dont find everything i need all the time but when i do i save enough to keep going back. I was amazed at the warranty they have with the electricsl parts. Fixing to go down there again right now need a rim and tire for the mustang.
I wish their used car parts wasnt so expensive. But they buy junk cars at a higher price than other places. Staff is relatively nice and service oriented.
Great place to find parts! Great customer service and very fair prices. Military discount is awesome!
The people behind the counter were exceptional. They take care of business and they are through! I enjoyed my experiences at LKQ.
They changed the price system so now they charge for everything when you buy a complete motor so it cost much more
If i could it would be no stars here..I understand its a junkyard but they should treat people just a tad better then they currently do. If Im paying you to provide any type of service then at least act like you care..
Whatever you need at a fair price
Friendly and convenient!
Went up on the price to go in to pick your part but other than that good place.
Does not keep a good stock
Easy to buy parts you need
Guy overpriced me for a part i previously bought on another occasion and when brought up they didnt want to hear it. Definitely lost my buisness, a differential gear is not a axle carrier.
The guys at lkq were very helpful, Steve and Darrell. Great job
Youd be surprised how much money you can save yourself giving new life to parts that got plenty left to give!
Needed a simple bracket for my Toyota. Online had it for around $300. Look up their inventory online found that they had my car. Went there took it off cost me $6
Repeat customer. Friendly, helpful staff. Great prices.
Arrived at 4:20 the doors were locked and the woman at take in rudely said they were closed. When the sign on the door states 5pm. They are very rude and unprofessional. Do not recommend visiting this junk yard. They treat you with no respect at all! They need to learn customer service. If i could give 0 stars i would.
Flexible & fairly priced parts!.. yard is pretty damn clean!... Decent Staff too!
Great place. Good selection of cars and reasonable prices, the service is good and people helpful.
Not what it use to be
Either their website is absolutely inaccurate, or the employees are lazy and tell lies... I dont really care which one of these is the problem, it just needs to be fixed either way!
As I read all the negative reviews I realize you get what you give, you give attitude youre getting it back, so you really shouldnt be surprised if youre a smartass. The bag check in and out is a little excessive but understandable considering the people that frequent LKQ. Theres nothing there worth going to jail for. They have the best selection of newer models especially SUVs. Ill be there tomorrow for BMW parts.
At LKQ, the customer Service in store is wonderful. At the salvage yard, there are so many cars onlot, there is no way to know what parts are on the vehicles and what parts are not. There are roughly 200 to 400 peole in yard a day, and it would be impossible to keep track of all vehicles parts are taken off of. That is a self-service yard, meaning the parts you need, you take off yourself. There is a lot of parts available, just have to look.
Very rude yes I been here to exchange a battery when clearly the receipt says exchange until 2020 the man straight tell me I need to hurry up and get my car fix bad customer service over here I will get a battery some place else because Im suppose to leave happy and i tils him i was in a hurrt for my son in school he show no care in the world
Total rip off and waste of time. Unfriendly staff, none of the staff know anything about inventory, a simple process made unbelievably ridiculous. Try blue and gold goose creek or somewhere else.
The folks at LKQ are always great to deal with. They are knowledgeable and willing to help.
Looking for parts for 2004 GMC. Found most of them at fraction of the cost of new.
The ppl I dealt with in the yard where great, no problem. But the female that answered the phone when I called was so rude, and I could think of a few other not so nice to say about her attitude.
I think that the charge is to high for pulling especially if its only one thing and that the part is easy to get. Not impressed
Sometimes they have what you need an d way cheaper than stores, but you have to be able to pull it (take off a car). You do have to pay to enter the yard though.
Never better. The coolest and kindest people ever.
Good environment
Do not do business with this place got here a 4:30 to get a part that only takes 2 mins to take off told me to come back the next day! This place is a joke! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ANY LQK ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THIS!!!!!
I give it four stars cause the facility almost always has what I need. You pay three bucks at the door to have access all day and the staff arent very friendly but can be very helpful depending on who is working that day.
Extremely rude staff. Tells me to go pull parts, and then theyll tell me how much money to pay. Who does slack business like that? Dont waste your time, buy new parts with a warranty.
This place has the worse manager ever. I cant believe that she runs it. Her name is renee. The best review on here is from her boy friend. Imagine that. Rude and her staff is just as bad. At least the ones we talked to. I hope something chages there soon. We have been longtime custumers. But not again.
Absolutely terrible customer service. The girl that checks you in at the front couldnt stop sucking on her Popsicle long enough to have a conversation with me. Even walked away and came back with a second one.I came out there not knowing really what I was doing. Just knew I needed the regulator assembly for my window. Did not realize the cord was a part of the assembly and we didnt grab it. Turns out thats what was broken. Came back to either get my money back and/or purchase the cord. I have my receipt. It was only two days ago I made the purchase. The Popsicle girl took my receipt to the back and said they were working on it? I didnt understand.I stood there for almost 20 minutes. No one said a word to me. A man came out with my assembly. Sat it down on the counter. Just teasing me. He ran around the counter to wait on other customers. Then a few minutes later a woman comes out (clearly the manager). Tells me she cant accept it. She went back and looked at security footage and couldnt find any proof. And since he sold it to me as a complete set (I didnt know the wire was a part of the assembly or I would have went back and grabbed it real quick).I spent $27 on a broke not full assembly. Left there. Went down to parts. $50 for the whole assembly brand new. LKQ can suck it. Terrible customer service. Parts will be our first call from now on.Will avoid LKQ at all costs.
Awful! I have been to professional recycling yards and this my friends is NOT one of them. $3 charge, find part or not, free for all. Garbage strewn everywhere. Hazard. Parts undocumented, paid $3 and parts were not on any car...what is this a grab bag? Cars were not in sections they stated, imports in domestic and vice versa. A true ripoff and mess.
Heads for a 2003 ford explorer XLT excellentGood
Never had a problem with anyone great people good prices
They were great
Last resort to parts... Check LKQ.. They have cars and trucks on file with the computer.. They may not be the same as the computer, but the vehicles are out there..
Nice place to get parts and u pull it urself
