Best decision I ever made for my car to take it here. The shop may not look like much from the outside, but inside you have technicians who KNOW what theyre doing and if you get a tune from them, they stop at almost nothing to make sure its done right for your car. Calling all car enthusiasts to use this business and help them grow to help more cars. 10/10 recommend for ANYTHING you need done with your car for performance.

Matt is the man! Kept it word when saying he will have my car tuned and running perfectly before mustang week! The tuner was amazing also knows his stuff with fords! If you got a Ford this is the place to go!

Needed help diagnosing LS conversation, Matt came out to my house on a Saturday! Gave me several items to correct and did not charge me for the entire transaction. I will do business with Matt again. I recommend this shop!

BEWARE!!! Wow! Where do I begin with this shop first red flag was when I pulled up and seen about 30 cars sitting out front. I’ve reached out to the owner (Matt) on numerous occasions about rodents getting into my vehicle, and at that time Matt the owner mentioned that he’ll fix it or pay to have it fixed. It’s going on a year and I have yet to hear anything back from the owner (Matt). My car sat there for about 2 months without anyone touching it or any progress being made. I also paid for my service in full before my vehicle was even dropped off. Please tell me what kind of shop has their customers bring their own tool box to work on their own car. To all my soldiers in arm please BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!!! I do not recommend this shop or anyone to take their vehicle to this shop. This shop will BS you and waste your time and money. If I could give 0 stars I would. If your looking for a reputable shop with great service and quality work I recommend going to CPR performance, because this shop is money and time well spent.

Edit: lowered to 3 stars. While the install was timely the wiring was sloppy and dangled inches above the pavement. Had to secure it myself. Will not be returning because work friends have had similar or greater issues.Had an Air Fuel ratio gauge installed. The response time to set an appointment was very quick. Only took a few minutes to drop my car off and they were done with it in about 2 hours. Friendly servicemen. Will be returning if I need anything else done

After speaking with many shops to figure out where to bring my car in for work, I decided to go with Charleston Performance Solutions. They sounded like they understood what needed to be done; the Armytrix exhaust needed special wiring to control the valve. I am very happy I chose them. I brought my 2018 Civic Type R in on a Friday afternoon to have the stock exhaust swapped for the aftermarket one. Later that same day they called to say that the work was finished and my car was ready to pick up. When I went back on Saturday to pick up my car the work was completed beyond expectation. The new exhaust was installed and wired up so that none of the wires were even visible. They told me to bring it back the following week to double check the system (since exhaust bolts have a tendency to loosen). I am extremely happy and satisfied with the work they did. A fair quote was given and the technicians were extremely friendly, professional, and knew exactly what they were doing.UPDATE: Because they did such a fantastic job installing the exhaust, I brought my car back in for additional work getting a Mishimoto Air Intake installed. Once again they did a fantastic job! Whole staff is extremely nice and professional and do fantastic work. Fair price for install. Accommodated my work schedule and had it finished ready to pick up a few hours later.

Just picked up my Shelby Mustang from them for a tuning. Most definitely the best tune I’ve had done. The staff is friendly and very communicative. Great work and great timing, I’m very satisfied!

The team did an excellent job installing my camshaft and valve springs and performing a dyno tune. They even identified a few faulty parts and replaced them as well. The staff was very professional and they took great care of my car.

Naturally I decided to scroll down your reviews and I noticed a few things. When someone writes a good review your response is very short or none at all. But when someone has an issue with your work your response is very condescending and almost like you enjoy it. People are 10 times more likely to return and suggest you to their friends and family if you RESOLVE an issue. Be a better person man

Honestly Ive dealt with these people for a while. Yes they take a long time because they are always backed up, but I think a shop thats always backed up it genuinely better than a shop without business on a regular. The next gripe is the parking lot, yeeesh, they need to move to a place with better parking.

Really ought to change the name to Charleston Powertrain Swaps. Thats their core business. Do they do some intakes and tunes? Maybe some DOD deletes. Sure. But its in between what they are best at. In December of 2020 I contacted Charleston performance solutions and spoke with Nick, he and i discussed my situation i just went through with B&C automotive in sumter Sc, he said thats unfortunate and well take care of you. I asked nick could they look over the work B&C did he said yes, so we scheduled a date for it to be towed to them. Once again i was asked for payment up front for them to get started which I had no issue with doing cause this is business. In January I was back stationed Stateside during this time i was in Washington state for school, again i didnt harash this company to see how things were going. When i came home for leave in February 2020 before reaching my final duty station i visited the company to see how things were going on my vehicle and they hadnt even touched it. at this time i was able to speak with the owner whom had a very nasty attitude towards me from the start sayin we dont promise finish dates we do things right here with that being said we went back and forth on customer relations and how a paying customer should be treated and considering the fact that his shop did not deliver on time as promised and how yet again i had to have another rental car as he said thats not my problem like i said we do things right here. We exchanged a few more words respectfully and i left after that.Once they finally got going on my vehicle they came a upon an issue with the transmission they saw that the line pressures were off, Matt came to the conclusion something was broken in the brand new transmission. I had them pull the transmission and ship it back to the manufacture for inspection. Once Gearstar (manufacture) inspected the transmission it was determined the vehicle had been driven with half its transmission fluid capacity causing internal damages. Gearstar released a statement to me explaining what they found and there determination of what caused it along with a repair bill I had to pay for. After i paid Gearstar they shipped it out to Charleston performance when they recieved the transmission it some time to reinstall as well awaiting their programmer for testing. For 6 weeks my vehicle sat in the care of this business i called multiple times prior to all the issues Sc was facing with covid 19 to no avail. Nor did i receive any communication from this business about closures of down time due to covid 19 other than from there voicemail when i called finally i received a call the June 5th from Matt. He stated hey your vehicle is good we dynod it everything is fine but you have a big stall converter on there i was confused at his statement as i know what was installed in the transmission but he assured me everything was working properly even said he drove the vehicle. On 8 jun my father picked up the vehicle from Charleston performance and drove it from Charleston to sumter my hometown. I arrived in south Carolina on the 19th to pick up my vehicle. Immediately after starting the vehicle i noticed many alerts and codes on my dash computer codes that Matt said were taken care on top of that when i put the vehicle in gear the indicator for which gear i was in didnt work secondly the vehicle was hard to move. I immediately called Charleston performance to speak with someone and once again to no avail i was left in dark on the technical issues this company said were fixed.I called Gearstar again to speak with there tech he let me know that transmission was more than likely starting in third gear hence the reason it was so hard to move he then let know he wasnt able to explain the wiring fiasco i was looking at which was no problem. I contacted Speartech the company that manufactured an adapter I bought for the transmission to attach the stock vehicle harness to in order to operate the vehicle without cutting wires. I spoke with justin and showed him pictures of what they did he said they should not have done any of that there was no reason cut any wires of splice into theirs. I have called Charleston Charleston performance several times times since June 20th and no one will take my call

The mechanics there a caring compassionate they take their time explain to you whats going on give you a straight up front quote no extra gimmicks fees or anything. This morning while driving on Interstate 26 West my entire back tire came off while I was driving fortunately I was not hit the tire didnt hit nobody and I was able to get off the road with no problem scared not knowing what to do at the moment I was able to call my insurance and they got me hooked up with a great tow truck company Twisted Hook Towing and Recovery. Rather than take me to the mechanic that was suggested by my insurance he took me to his personal mechanic which has now become my personal mechanic Charleston performance and service yeah freaking Rock You got me back on the road with no problems. Came in for a simple clutch install and rear end rebuild with new gears . After weeks of them trying to solve the new clutch issue I finally got my car back . Only to find out the Axle seal was still leaking ( replaced it twice ) and the bearings were shot due to improper installation. I tried to ask Matt why I had to pay more for fixing the clutch issue ... his response : ( I’m not doing this with you, now it’s $300 more instead of $200 if you want your car back ) Extremely unprofessional and lack of care . Can’t believe how I got treated honestly after spending over $2800 with them and my car is still not running right . Spin this however you want but Matt you yelled at me and told me you wouldn’t work on my car in the future, as if I did something wrong . Why would I bring the car back to you after that ? Come on

Dont ever carry your vehicle to this place. Customer service is horrible and quality of work is way below par. I carried my car to this place and paid close to $3000.00 to get work done to it. They didnt do the work correctly and I ended up paying $1600.00 to get it done elsewhere. They were supposed to issue me a refund for some work that they didnt do and months later I still havent received the refund. Ive sent numerous emails and called numerous times to no answer. While I was there a guy told me he was taking legal actions against them for some work they didnt do.

Got referred to this shop by a few people. I’m from CT and bought a f-body they took me in with one day notice. I needed it inspected and tuned for my long drive back and they made it happen. Best shop I’ve been too and I will be having picked up by them this fall in CT and they will do my 5.3 special setup. I recommend them to everyone.

They can get busy, but this is a reflection of how sought out their work is.

I’m now at 25k on my built engine so I’ll leave my review now. I couldn’t be more pleased with the performance and reliability of my car at around 500hp. I took great advice from the whole team and we set the goals from there. All goals were met (into the 10’s) and even exceeded with my car pushing 31+psi on pump 93 along with a couple issues on the track with the car leaning out (coupler split) the engine held true and perfect compression test across the board (even after seeing a boost spike of 43psi) still to this day. You can not go wrong with Charleston performance and Matt is for sure on top of things along with Nick being one of the best sales reps to deal with and will never leave you hanging in the customer service areas A+++++My evo is doing great thanks guys!!

Bad experience - Ill keep this kind of short.I drove 1 1/2 hours from a military installation to take my car there in good running condition for a simple rebuild, in which all parts were already supplied by me. (Pistons, rods, bearings, gaskets etc..). A job that should of taken 1-4 months tops ended up being around 10 months total. They had my car from March 2017-December 2017. I feel they take in more customers/projects than they can handle with a staff of 2-3 mechanics. All services on my car was paid for in advance or when requested by the shop manager (Stupid of me). Customer service was below sub par, and did not keep me in the loop as promised. They hydro locked my engine back in September 2017 which caused headaches, wasted time, and excuses as to why. This in turn led me to terminate all services and take my car/parts away from this shop and bring it else where. In December 2017, I took my engine to a local machine shop and after further inspections, the machine shop reported back with findings of a cracked block. I would not recommend doing business ever again with CPS, but if you must good luck.

Nick is very helpful and always has an answer for any questions I have mat is very knowledgeable about engine builds and what you can do to gain more power jody and the employees are very experienced never had any problems definitely be coming back on my next build

They did lifter and a cam in my 2001 z06 and killed it they helped me out big time and gave me excellent service good people and work hard they took there time to make sure nothing was wrong instead of rushing the job and giving me back junk so heavily would recommend

Charleston Performance took my beat up old DSM and did some scheduled maintenance as well as much needed repairs. Matt knows how to wrangle a shop to make sure everything was done on time and surpassed all expectations. If you want a place that will keep you in the loop with every step of your cars progress then take it to CPS, these guys know cars!

Don’t waste your time and money bringing your car here. This Shop had my car for a year and the only thing they completed was my fuel system and that was a half ass job. I wanted them to do 5 things for me and that’s it. When I saw they wasn’t make any progress I made my mind up to pick my car up. Out of $1644 they gave me back $140 and a incomplete fuel system. The owner said because the fuel system took his worker 13hr and his rates went up two days ago. When he told me my fuel system was a 6hr job. This shop is not only a joke but they have bare minimum car experience. You have been warned. GOODLUCK

I’m an owner of a 2017 GT Mustang and I’ve been building my car for the past 6 months now. I’ve had headers in my garage collecting dust trying to find a shop to put them in. I contacted show zone and they would give me one word responses with no detail, I contacted jk performance shop and they actually recommended Charleston Performance Solution. Right away when I called they gave me more information then I could ask for and they even took my car in that same day and I got it back the next day same time. The service is hands down the best I’ve experienced in a shop. I will definitely recommend this shop for any car enthusiast and I will be making plans to go back and have them dyno tune my car.

The man, the owner, Matt Selepack, and his badass tech, Mikey, did what the dealership couldn’t, or was plain too lazy to fix my AC issue! Which made me a very frustrated customer, after 4 service visits to the dealership, worried I would have to spend at least a few grand (insert cry face)... and been robbedddddd! Mikey has the face of a warrior, a man of few words because his work clearly speaks for him, so I knew I was in good hands, as he found the part that burned up and started smoking, scaring the life out of me and my 12 year old kid riding down the road thinking we were gonna explode and be on the news (dealership wanted almost a grand for a totally different, Perfectly Good part—losers), got it replaced after special order, and VIOLA!! Who knew a tiny 1 inch “blower relay” caused all that smoke and shut down my cool air!! Uhhh, the dealership didn’t!! So now I don’t look or feel like Ace Ventura in the rhino, thanks to these guys! Jody and Nick were super knowledgeable and friendly behind their luscious man beards, and I absolutely recommend Charleston Performance SOLUTIONS!! Go go go. Don’t waste your time anywhere else!

The wanna be owner is a con artist he makes a bunch of promises he doesn’t keep. He had two of my vehicles at this location for over two years close to three he states that the charger heads were shipped for correction and that took several months ok so what about the 2 plus years outside of that it sat at the shop so basically it came to the point were I had to take them somewhere else. He recommended the Monte Carlo going to Chris Titan because it was above his level of expertises. All in all yes he was taking on jobs behind other technicians but he was told all this before hand before taking on the job, wasn’t a surprise. My advice if you are not getting minor mechanical work done stay away. Matt is a rip off and he doesn’t even own the shop. This dude is a clown LMAO anyone who knows me or worked on my vehicles knows I never cut corners with my vehicles and I only have the best parts installed I spare no expense. I asked him to rewire the Monte Carlo his words were he cannot. That’s when he suggested taking the car to Chris Tuten. Now my car has been rewired, tuned and running great just after 3 months and it took that long because they were waiting at least a month on a wire harness from FAST, thanks to Chris Tuten and CPR performance in Columbia SC. Let’s not forget Matt charged me for a diagnostic on my MSD digital 6A and stated the box failed and was bad. When the car was taken to Columbia the real techs there discovered that the battery was just bad and not the digital 6A box, go figure.Sincerely, Mr. Williams (Owner of 86’ Monte Carlo, 07 SRT 8 Charger)

These guys are awesome. They replaced the water pump and timing belt in my beat up miata. They also replaced a bunch of random gaskets along the way. If my miata last another 80k miles i will be bring it back for the next timing belt job.

They recently installed a new Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Kit and lightweight flywheel into my 2004 Acura RSX. Kept my mustang for over a week just to upgrade gear ratio, which is a 1 day job. They also forgot to add oil to the gears, so it made a horrible noise and I had to do my own research to figure out what was wrong because they had no clue. New gears were not aligned correctly and produced horrible gear whine, to which the owner said is completely normal... which is not correct. I also found a magnetic flashlight they left attached under my car. My friend did not have a good experience with them either - he dropped in to see how his upgrades were going and found a large dent in his hood. They did pay for that to be fixed.

I just picked my car up today, it didn’t even take a whole week for them to finish my car once they received the parts for my car. Literally the worst experience with a business of my life. Matt is an awful manager and never responds to you. Makes you feel like you are on his time. His top mechanic quit because hes awful. They are always backed up but idk why because the work if terrible. I had to find a part for my car for them that took me maybe an hour to find yet they said you couldnt get here. I had to have another shop re do their work because my kit was installed improperly. On top of that when they were tunin my car which was 2 months past when it was supposed to be done one of the over 20 pulls they did on my car was at high boost that could have harmed my engine. Never do business with them. On top of this I was charged full price.

I took my 1985 mustang here at one point a couple years ago to get a dashboard replacement. I supplied all the parts. The new dashboard, headlight switch, wiring harness, A/C control, even the screws. The reason I was replacing the dash was because the original had serious cracks and many of the components werent working like the dashlights. My radio and convertible top however still did work. I called them in advance and they are very confident they can do the job. I bring it in and they tell me it should take a couple weeks. I get it back about 2 months later after spending 1000 dollars. The new dash was in but thats where the good parts stop. There was a large crack running through the cluster and the car wouldnt start. I went in and informed them of this and they gave me a jump and told me to bring it back later for the crack. I start the car and the dashlights still dont work. Not only that, but my speedometer now did not register my speed, my radio didnt work and the convertible top want working either. Even worse I get home to find that my brand new wiring harness was ripped apart and thrown in the trunk. I was furious. I called and left a very stern voicemail about how this was absolutely unacceptable. I took the car back the next day and they told me they would fix the stuff free of charge. If this is where the story ended I probably wouldve given them 3 stars. 3 months pass and finally my car is ready. No crack in the cluster and speedometer works. Everything else? Broken. No dash lights, no radio, no convertible. At this point I had given up. I took this as a learning experience. The owner seemed nice but the guys who actually do the work are inexperienced and were constantly bickering like children in the shop. So now I see why nothing got done. This was a year ago that all this happened and my convertible top and dash lights still dont work to this day. The only reason they have more than one star is because they offered to fix the mistake for free which has merit. Too bad they didnt fix the mistakes. Now years later, the car still has all the same problems it did when I brought it in.

STILL HAVENT FIGURED OUT HOW TO PROVIDE TIMELY UPDATES.***3 YEARS 4 MONTHSSo, I cannot legally drive my vehicle away from this shop because necessary little things like working lights are STILL not finished, nor can they figure out how to ship the vehicle (one of the original promises made when I had to leave the vehicle behind because this shop could not meet the original time line, and I had to leave the area).Im at a loss to describe the frustration the poor communication, inability to successfully execute the project requirements, and apparent lack of concern that THEY HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR OVER 3 YEARS AND 4 MONTHS and still need more time!What an embarrassing experience for me as a customer to not have been able to push my agenda. I have been prompt in making any decisions necessary to move the project along, I have been prompt in paying along the way for this project. Either this shop has taken advantage of me, or simply not felt my project, or me as a customer, was that important.If this is something you want to experience as a consumer... I encourage you to bring your vehicle to Charleston Performance.*And their latest update is priceless... a promise to provide continuous updates that is three months old***Edit:In addition to the tires failing from sitting for so long, now the alternator has failed. A job i had asked for from the get go (almost 3 years ago) was never completed, meaning my truck still has a failed steering system...I am recalling the vehicle as these guys are not the ones I trust to finish the job.***Edit 34 months and counting:The proprietor stated my truck was finished about 8 weeks ago (a little after my last update here) and was looking for means to transport it to me. This is somewhat corroborated by the owners own comment that google has conveniently time stamped proving that at least 1 month ago this project was complete (the fact the comment suggested updates throughout the week but is a month stale... is humorously ironic).I HAVE YET TO HEAR ABOUT TRANSPORTATION DETAILS... after years of being promised this would not be a problem.That has been the underlying theme of this whole experience. Over promise, under delivery.Looking forward to leaving my final update about quality of work, the mechanics working there are good, so Im hoping that at least will be positive... the question is whether I get to leave the review in 2018... or will it be in 2019?***Edit: 32 months: STILL NOT FINISHED!!! Vehicle has sat so long tires and brake system failed... sooo if want your vehicle to require excessive amounts of repairs above and beyond what you brought it in for, Matt is your guy.***Edit 30 months. WHERE IS MY TRUCK, WHY ARE YOU NOT FINISHED?***Edit 25 months.After several months without word... Im guessing they just tried to forget about this whole ordeal... be nice if they could forget about it AFTER returning my vehicle.This is embarrassing.***Edit: 23 months.Broken promises, piled on broken promises heaped on broken promises.So, so, so frustrating... MEET A DEADLINE FOLKS.***Edit: 22 months.Expecting the project to be finished this month.***Edit: 20 months.Communication has improved greatly. Actions are being taken.This is a tough project, no doubt, and in my final update (wherever that may be) I will list all the things these guys accomplished.***We are currently 19 months into this modification... The project management is woeful. The customer communication strategy does not exist. Cant really talk to the technical prowess as I have not driven the vehicle yet.

Putting this into words is the most difficult thing Ive done in quite a while. Can I start with how damn handsome these guys are?! Dudes dont bring your ladies up here unless theyre ready to get pregnant. Youve been warned!Dont bring your tires there though, they dont have a tire machine. You gotta go see Mr. King Chocolate Ancrum down at Rimtyme for the homie-hookup.Dont I mention the handsome stuff? I believe I did, lets get past that and start something new... Hmmmm how about a technician who will literally give his left foot to make sure your car is the fastest thing in the street?I gotta go now, my girlfriend is yelling about I need to change the cat box. Aint even my damn cats! What kinda nonsense is that?!?! Dont ever get cats, or a girlfriend. If you dont listen to me and do get a girlfriend though, dont take her to CPS - She will not be going home with you! She will be pregnant in a trailer off Spruill Ave.
