Great store. Just bought a motorcycle from them yesterday. Matt, the sales manager was a knowledgeable straight shooter and a great person to do business with. The office team and the mechanic who prepped the bike did great jobs also. No problems at all and I was in and out of the store with the paperwork done and temp tags in hand in about an hour.

2022 Yamaha TW200From the moment I walked in everyone was really nice and mellow no pushy sakes peoplewas looking to buy two bikes and then last minute had to change to just one it was no problem they were very accomading josh was my salesman nice guy helpful what more could you ask for and Hayley the finance manager was also really nice and had all my paperwork ready and walked me through it in great detail answering questions along the way. EDIT AFTER DEALER RESPONSE:The salesman did not mention or go over the added cost of the extended warranty, or give him the option to decline. He did not mention or go over the added cost of the safety equipment and fire extinguisher, or give him the option to decline. I also remember, clear as day, that he specifically said that the safety equipment just came with the ski since he was purchasing it new.I was a lender and loan processor at a bank for 11 years. I understand how the loan process works. Because of fair lending laws and regulations, nearly all banks have removed any potential for bias from the approval process of consumer loans by automating the entire credit decision process. He had provided all the necessary information to put in the application and pull his credit on Thursday before we got there, and he had already been approved. I know that final approval depends on your Debt-to-Income based on the payment calculated when the total loan amount has been determined, but the interest rate had already been set when his credit was pulled and his application was approved through that automated process. The dealership can make excuses, but I highly doubt they were at the mercy of some poor overworked loan processor out there because more than likely, the interest rate was determined and set on Thursday when the credit score was received and the loan was pre-approved.Regardless, this dealership up-charged approximately 30% in fees alone, excluding taxes.ORIGINAL POST:We drove 3 hours from Georgia to purchase a brand new SeaDoo jet ski from this dealership on a Saturday morning in April. My boyfriend had already paid a deposit on the jet ski, and they knew that we were coming that morning. Even so, when we got there, we had to wait and wait and wait. Every time wed sit down to talk about the purchase, wed ask a question that the salesman should know the answer to, but he had to go ask someone else to answer almost every question, and that would invariably be another 10,20,30 minute wait. And we werent asking difficult questions- we asked what the interest rate was on the loan? 30 minute wait for them to tell us it was the prime rate. Do they have a used trailer we could buy instead of the top of the line new trailer? 45 minute wait. And on and on. We were there for at least 3-4 hours trying to do paperwork for a jet ski that should have been ready to go considering they knew we were driving such a long way.Finally sat down with paperwork in front of us, and my boyfriend signed without paying attention because I was hungry.I never actually looked at the paperwork until i took it to get the trailer registered and the lady at the GA DMV pointed the fees out to me. They charged so many fees it was ridiculous. On a jet ski with a base price of $9,798, the total due was $13,507, before interest.They charged $50.98 for accessories. We didnt purchase any accessories, but they did say that the OEM safety equipment with tube case just came with the ski. By the way, the same tube case is $24.61 on Amazon.They charged $1399 for a service contract that they didnt ask us about (why would we get that when we live 3 hours away?). I have attached a picture with a list of all the fees.On top of that, they charged us taxes in South Carolina, even though we are Georgia residents, so when I registered the trailer in Georgia, I had to pay an additional $856.29 taxes in Georgia... on the full amount, including all the fees, even though Ive asked multiple people, including the GA DMV, SC Tax Commissioners office, the SC DNR, multiple other dealerships in SC, and my Tax Attorney all have said that you dont have to pay taxes in SC if youre not a SC resident bc it is registered in GA.$2,947.98 of fees to the dealership alone on an $8000 jet ski and $1500 trailer, not including taxes. It was highway robbery! And they absolutely did not disclose all those fees to my boyfriend before he put a deposit on the ski. The whole experience felt super shady, and I wish we had walked away from that purchase.

EDIT: I have changed my review up to five, based on the service that I received after the first review. I was able to talk to JR, who was very helpful in working through some of the communication issues, and making sure that the bike was working and ready to go. Thanks to him, I was able to get the bike back in working order and hopefully enjoy it the rest of my time in Charleston.I would just make sure that you have good communication with the service department, because it can be a hassle at times.INITIAL REVIEW:I took my bike there based on the good reviews I saw online. They assured me that they could handle a Kawasaki Vulcan, one of the more common production bikes. I listed the issues I was having, and they assured me that they could handle it.The first problem was they refuse to communicate in any way, I had to call several times to authorize work, and they never called me or left an email saying that I needed to authorize work. Luckily I called in. Next, they refused to email me, even though I do not have my phone during working hours. Extremely inconvenient.Finally, they have stated they are waiting for a final part to complete the maintenance, and that “they can not ship it as it is on back order”. I’m not quite sure what this means because I googled the specific part they needed and found hundreds of results on google. I should’ve just done this myself, because I expect to be paying about 2k and I am going to end up missing the best days of the Charleston riding season.If I were to do this again, I would go to literally any other motorcycle repair shop in Charleston. They actually still have the vehicle, because without a petcock it cannot operate, as it is missing fuel to drive.For the several months of waiting, I hope I can get at least some of the price reduced. I thought I was going to pay for quick and reliable repairs, but this has been the opposite of that experience. One day I just hope to see my motorcycle again, but each time I call and they say “it’s still on backorder” I know it’s going to be another month. Look at this review, and if you ever want to see your bike again, go anywhere else.
Wade in parts and Marquis in delivery went above and beyond to make sure my 5 year old son received his new bike the day we were promised from the shop despite the inclement weather. Stay far away from this place, my wife was approved through Yamaha for a VX Cruiser HO jet ski she was waiting for it to come in the day it arrived they decide to sell it to another person and I had to find out by chasing there sales staff down to get the answer. That’s cheap and very undermining. The owners of this place need to take a real good look at the staff they have employed with them. Chad S. UPDATE: So I will give an update on what has happened since my first review, I was contacted pretty fast by Matt (sales manager) he immediately started looking for another jet ski we stayed in contact every couple of weeks on june 25 2021 I called to get an update and Matt told me that one had just arrived and they would have it ready for me to pick up the next day. So me and my wife made the 2hr trip, the jet ski is not the exact one as the first but still a great ski. So when me and my wife enter Charleston Powersports we can feel the tension and the original salesperson pretty much avoided us until he absolutely had to talk with us, but we pretty much tried to deal with Matt only. So the deal was done and we are happy we have a jet ski considering how hard they are to get, but we owe this to Matt. Now to whom ever owns Charleston Powersports if this happed at my place of business I would have made it a point to show up the day the customers did to pick up there product and would have personally apologize my self for what happed from the beginning but that shows me that the original response on here was not the owner. Dont waste your time with this place. For one they dont have any inventory, plus we went in, because I am going to purchase a new ATV and a New Waverunner. Only when I was walking out of the door, someone asked if I needed assistance. I will take my business elsewhere. Very unprofessional customer service, we didnt even get greeted when we walked in.

Had a fantastic experience purchasing our first boat and Randy M. was a great sales person to deal with and extremely professional and responsive. We had a less than enjoyable experience with our local dealer and the folks at Charleston Powersports hit it out of the park. I would easily drive down from North Carolina again to get that high level of curtesy and support. My family is beyond excited with the new Yamaha FSH edition to the family and couldn’t be happier. Decent place with decent people but the overall experience fell short. We bought our jet skis in September but were never given owners manuals or the VIN sticker for the trailer. They were given to us when we stopped in for something different and it was done in a Oh, by the way... kind manner. We still havent received the registration for the skis, either, even though we were told wed have them within 30 days and its now December 14. Theyre not rude or uncaring in any way, theres just not much follow through or service after the sale.Edit: On 12/20/19, approximately three months after buying our jet skis, I sent a text to our salesman asking about the registration for our skis. He said they needed pictures of the VIN for each ski to send to the DNR in order to get our registration for them. The products they sell are great, the service after the sale is horrible. The only good part of this experience has been riding the skis, which is possibly the most important. But a good customer experience is a very close second and we havent really had that here.
Called in this morning to inquire about a used 2006 Yamaha boat. The salesman Josh was kind enough to confirm it was still available and that I was able to test drive anytime today, I just needed to show up. Great, I show up and ask to do the water test I confirmed, the same salesman tells me that someone is flying in from TX to take it for a water test and that it no longer made sense for me to test it. I ask if they committed to buy it and I’m told there’s no commitment? Naturally I pushed back being I was first to arrive there with cash to buy the boat, then I was told that if wanted to buy it I would need to negotiate and sign the deal then later I could water test it after the deed was done. Of further concern, the price listed online showed $14,999, which is the Nada value, however the salesmen informed me the trailer would be an addition $4.5k above ask after the situation had deteriorated. I can’t believe this actually happened. Be forewarned, It seems there’s some sketchy business going on at Charleston Motorsports. Buyer beware.
Called this place FIVE times in a matter of 20 minutes. I have cash in hand to purchase a jet ski. Three times I was transferred to someone and hung up on. Once the phone was answered and someone was having a personal conversation instead of actually answering the phone. Finally, someone answered and with ZERO customer service or give-a-$hit in his approach, told me the model that I was looking for (and that they have listed as in-stock on their website) they did not have. I asked when they may have another one in and the answer was Im not sure how to know when it will be in stock. What a joke of a dealer. I was literally ready to drop $8K in their lap and that is the response I got. I could only imagine actually having to try to deal with them to purchase.

I called them at the first of the week and the worked me in to their busy schedule and the service was excellent. Before I was asked to pay the bill they spent time reviewing what they serviced, items to pay attention to and gave my boat the white glove treatment. Highly recommend this dealership for their high quality service and commitment to the customers needs.

I love motorcycles and anything outdoors. I went there to get a front tire for my Yamaha V-Star 650 custom and they said they charged me $109 for the tire and think it was $60 for the changing of the tire service when I came to pick up the bike they said they had to charge me an extra $16 because they had to put a new tire tube. personally I think that should have been included in the installation fee you always put a new tube in a motorcycle tire regardless if it needs it or not its a safety issue.
The sales guys (champ) were extremely helpful and patient while I was figuring out what kinda bike I wanted. They took their time and broke down the financing so I could afford the bike I wanted. They really did go the extra mile to make sure I was happy and comfortable with the decision I made. I’m one of those people who typically doesn’t write reviews, but I feel obligated to. Having spent 47 years in a very similar industry, I can walk into an establishment like CPS and in very short order, know if anyone there has a clue as to what’s happening. And the CPS people do!The parts people are as good as it gets and they know their products. They always look at your purchase history and thank you for your continued support. Last year I needed 2 items that the manufacturer no longer produced. They did the legwork necessary to find the items and had them shipped in. This year I needed 3 batteries. They had them waiting on me when I arrived and as always, I was accommodated like I was their most important customer.Russell, Jason and Tyler – great work guys! The salesman ( Brock) told me we l would have to start paper work now to get the best deal, he said, he did not want me taking quote take down road price shopping. Well if you were going to give the best deal, you should not worry your self about that. I told him I was not ready to do this without a price, he just walked away.

I had ridden down to SC from Ohio and lost a piece of my Scorpion helmet causing the visor to be unusable. After calling Iron Pony where I got the helmet and having them tell me they couldnt help me, I found Charleston Power Sports on the Scorpion web site. On a motorcycle trip from Detroit to Key West and then returning, the hinge to the visor of my helmet broke. They replaced it right away by removing it from another helmet and installing it on mine. They ordering the part for their helmet instead of making me wait. Next offered to look at the bike and found tires under-inflated and filled them. Excellent customer service for a $10 purchase. Next time Im in Charleston I am definitely stopping in.
I went in with a leaking fork and worn out tires/brakes on a bike I bought from craigslist. Jason set me up with some great deals on parts, and Daniel was able to keep me up to date the entire time I was planning to get work done. I got the feeling that my best interest was in regards when it came to getting the work done. My bike is in much better condition than it was when I brought it in and I will return anytime I want some new parts or work done!
Im new to jet skiing and Im so glad Champ was my salesman at Charleston Powersports. He was patient explaining all the features, answering questions and helping me from start to finish- even taking the jet ski to the water with me so I was completely familiar and comfortable. Saved the day! My son wanted the new fox riding gear for his birthday, being slack and not ordering online in time I didn’t have it! Went here and they gave me a great deal on the whole shebang!
Over all experience was great! I had some concerns about they bike I bought and they had someone come pick it up within a couple hours and I was good to go shortly there after. Turns out I was just being overly cautious. They work well with the military as well. The guy who was helping me with helmets was super knowledgeable, it was quite impressive how much technology goes into each helmet and then also to remember them. The salesman Champie was easy to work with, made the transaction super easy and made the process a breeze.
I recently purchased my first motorcycle from Charleston PS. As a new rider I had felt pushed around at some of the other dealerships I had been to. The staff at Charleston PS made it incredibly easy to test ride and purchase my new bike. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in purchasing a new or used bike!
Walked in parts dept. yesterday 9-10-15 to order and purchase a few parts for my wr250r and was greeted @ counter by parts person Chad Cody,what an extremely friendly,knowledgeable,courteous, helpful man. Current Post (2016/2) - I wanted to take a moment to update my review. I have always received great customer service when I need parts for my Bandit 1250. Russell works with me to find exactly what I need for a good price. And for those few times where the part doesnt work or there is no clear solution, he continues to work to find something Im happy with. CPS is my preferred place to shop for all my motorcycle parts and gear.Previous Post (2014) - I purchased my motorcycle from CPS 16 months ago and have performed my major services there. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I have also started buying my parts and accessories from there b/c they really work to make sure you get what you need for very reasonable prices.
Caleb and Greg were top notch on getting my ski repaired within minutes of me arriving!! Highly reccomended!!
