My wife and I are beyond happy with how our dining room table and bench turned out. We searched for quite awhile for someone to build the table we had envisioned but found ourselves constantly disappointed with other companies lack of client communication or craftsmanship. Stephen on the other hand was excited from the start and was unafraid to tackle any design that we wanted.His passion for his craft cannot be understated and can be see in the quality of his work. The reclaimed Heart Pine trestle table (6x3) is the most beautiful piece of furniture we own and we will definitely be working with Stephen again.

I had Wain Green Wood build me a computer desk for my office and I couldnt be happier with the final product. I wanted to hire a shop that builds via mortise and tenon joints as opposed to pocket screws which makes for a stronger and longer-lasting piece of furniture. I love that the 100 year old Heart Pine Stephen used for my desk comes from old buildings here in Charleston. As a woodworking hobbyist, I have the utmost respect and admiration for Wain Green Woods high level of passion, detail and craftsmanship, this guy is the real deal!

Working with Stephen on my dining room table was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. I contacted him with an idea of what I wanted - something that had history, was sturdy and looked old. Stephen quickly came up with ideas that were exactly what I wanted. I was able to see the wood (from a home built in 1853, Charleston) before he started. He also designed a chair that complimented the table for me. The finished product is AMAZING. He delivered my table and chairs yesterday and my husband and I cant get over how beautiful the work is. You can tell Stephen loves what he does and is extremely gifted. This business is a true on-of-a-kind. My husband and I are absolutely thrilled with our farmhouse dining table - so thrilled we decided to have a bench made as well! We were able to hand-pick the wood and stain. The craftsmanship is beyond excellent, and Mr. Wain is so easy to work with. The price is quite reasonable - we are considering other pieces since we still have room left in the budget!

I was very excited to work with Wain Green Wood. I have followed his work for several years through home shows. We finally found a good piece to commission Wain Green Wood to produce for us. I spoke to him before Christmas 2020 and visited his shop that same week. I paid my 50% deposit on 12/22/20. I was told my project would be complete at the end of January. On 12/29, I emailed to add to my order. I did not get a response, but with the holidays did not worry. I emailed again on 1/29 for a status update as we were nearing the completion date...still radio silence. I called and had no response. I texted on 2/6/21, the message was read and still no response. At this point I a, very concerned as my deposit has been paid. Today, 2/9/21, I went by his shop to check in as I received no response to my text. The shop I visited was GONE...along with my money. I was extremely disappointed to see the shop was gone...I know we are all trying our best through COVID. I too, am a small business owner. There is, however, no excuse to take someone’s money and run. I caution you to not trust this company.

Wain makes such beautiful furniture! He made my husband and I a dining room table and matching bench. His furniture is beautiful, solid, unique, and made with care! We absolutely love his work and will definitely work with him again in the future. He was responsive throughout the whole process and delivered the table and bench to us personally.

We could not be more pleased with the quality and appearance of the multiple pieces of furniture that Stephen has built for us! We contacted him because we wanted custom built furniture using locally acquired wood. He built a desk, bed, dresser and six night tables for us, using woods of our choice which we could never have been able to purchase in a store. All of the pieces are beautiful, exactly what we asked for and reasonably priced. The work was completed in a very timely manner, in fact, more quickly than we would have expected given its quality. Furthermore, Stephen takes great pride in the work that he does and we found him to be a pleasure to deal with. He quickly responded to whatever questions we had. Since our last review, Stephen has built a cabinet and another desk for us. The quality of his work is consistently exemplary. The artistry of his joinery is much like that of antiques that you don’t often find today. It was such a pleasure for us to play a part in creating custom pieces from scratch for our home and to know exactly where the wood came from. Stephen’s skill makes virtually anything possible. He gave us a choice of many different woods, all of which were locally sourced materials; these included pecan, magnolia, sycamore and heart of pine. It is a pleasure to do business with Stephen. He takes such pride in his work.

We had Stephen complete several pieces for us in two bedrooms and are very satisfied with what he has made for us. The quality is excellent and combined with very reasonable pricing, this is a great choice to acquire locally made furniture. Moreover, we have chosen woods that are not commonly found in traditional furniture stores. He has been very attentive to our specific requirements, easy to deal with and offers a quick turnaround time to completion. We already have plans for him to build a complete bedroom set for us in a third bedroom. All told, highly recommended!
