I had a great experience with the service department at Banister Nissan of Norfolk! I was having difficulty getting into my normal shop for maintenance, and was referred to this dealership. I actually spoke with the GM Moheeb when I made my appointment and he made sure I was able to get an appointment in a timely manner. Dominique Harper (my service advisor) always makes sure that I am in an out in a timely manner, he keeps me informed on whats going on with my vehicle while I am waiting. Sets up my transportation if I need to leave my car there and lets me know as soon as its ready. Lets me know if work needs to be done immediately or can wait until my next visit. My mom passed in September and since then he makes sure that he asks me how I am doing while not being too invasive. I am always confident that I am in good hands with Dominique.

To save you time, basically banister told me they could do some work, then spent 3 hours deciding they couldnt do it. I spent 5 minutes to see what they saw. A custom car place did the work in 4 hours when it took banister 3 hours to do nothing.Called twice to see if they could replace my bench seat with captains chairs in my Nissan Armada. Was told they could have custom seats built and installed, and that if I had seats from another Armada they could install them, and was told they have done this before. So I bought some seats and made an appointment.When I show up I was told they would have to spend time seeing if they could do it. Got a text the next day saying they couldnt complete the install and took them 3 hours of work but they were only going to charge me $299.99 instead of $430.When I arrived I was told they took the seats out and cut the carpet back to find there was a missing bracket they could do nothing about.When I got home I folded the seats forward and noticed the bolts that hold the seat in were not moved since there was still dust. The carpet is secured by velcro and was not cut. I was able to fold the seats and pull back the carpet in about 30 seconds. I stared at it for a few minutes and see the issue of a missing bracket. I took another 30 seconds and put the carpet and seats back together. Not sure how this qualified for three hours of work and $300.I ended up looking further into it and quickly realized that the seat latch brackets are bolted on and that all that needed to happen was a quick unbolt from one spot and replace it with the missing bracket.I ended up bringing it to a custom car place that took about 5 minutes to come up with a plan on how to do it. Took them about 4 hours to switch the bench seat for a captains chair which is an hour longer than banister took to do nothing.Stay away from this place.

Had a 2015 Nissan Sentra towed to Bannister Nissan early afternoon on 8/16/2021, as of 2:00pm on 8/17/2021 the vehicle hasnt even been looked at. We were told that appointments and walk-ins are taken first and normally it takes 2 days to look at a vehicle that has been towed, this is after having the customer call for an update. My daughter works in the medical field providing home health care. Ive called and left a message with the service manager, Ill see how it goes. I would have expected after a day, that the vehicle would have at least been initially looked at.

Im a person who generally only trust the dealership with my vehicle. I have an Armada and this has been where I go for my vehicle since moving here from Arizona. State inspection, oil change, and now new tires. They do great work in a reasonable time. Customer service is impeccable.

I totaled my car a week before my birthday. After an emotion time, slight concussion and an overload of stress, I started car shopping. Not my favorite hobby, especially given the circumstances. I knew what make, model and color I wanted, it was just a matter of finding it. After finding what I thought I wanted and a lackluster experience at another dealership in Virginia Beach, I found the perfect fully loaded Camry I was looking for at a Nissan dealership. Banister Nissan had exactly what I looking for! I started out with a basic experience from my initial salesperson. After the test drive and I knew this was my new car. I had some details to work out and came back the second day looking for the man who took me on the test drive. He left for the day and I had the pleasure of working with Jean. From there my experience accelerated from basic to exemplary. While at his desk, I noticed all the customer service accommodations immediately. Now I know why. Jean was very kind, professional and friendly. From the dealership manager to the finance manager Rudy, Everyone was helpful and courteous. There were a few miscommunications(which may be expected when doing business with a large dealership) but overall I really appreciated the candor, kindness and assistance I received. I work in sales and there are many directions these situations can go. Little pressure and big service is how my experience went. Even after the sale, I received great, personal service from Jean. The Service manager assisted me a few weeks later quickly and without charge. Thank you all for your help! Highly recommended.

I came in for oil change and inspection and I thought I may need brakes but because of their honesty they told me I didnt need brakes at this time so I just got wheel rotation inspection and oil change. Dominique is always polite and courteous and make sure everything is taken care of before I get my car back

I came in there to look at a vehicle Trenton was the one who helped me and I cant say anything bad about him he was the best.

The maintenance and repair was fine. It was a long wait ( 3 1/2 hours for state inspection, front and rear brake and rotor change. Even though I had an appointment for state inspection, over an hour passed before hearing anything about repairs.After approving the repairs (11:08 a.m.) I didn’t hear anything from anyone until about 12:45. The service guy said that they will be finished shortly. I stayed until 1:20 before calling for someone to pick me up.4:00 p.m. I decide to call to see what was going on. The female that answered phone said that the service person called at 1:30 saying that the car was ready. I told her that I didn’t get a call or message. She insisted that the call was made and a voice message was left and abruptly hung up.Once I got dropped off to pick the car up, I spoke with the service manager who assured me that he would investigate and contact me.Today is Wednesday. This Friday will be seven days since the incident. No word from themanager yet.This is disappointing given the fact that I bought my car from this dealership ( brand new) and have never received this type of treatment in 4 years of business.

Horrible. Vehicle still has the same transmission issue that they claim they couldnt find. Check engine light still on referring to the transmissions 5th gear ratio being incorrect. Only recommendation was to drive it around for 2-3 more days and check back with them if I experienced the same issue. Which I have the same say I received the vehicle. Im taking my vehicle elsewhere.

Walked in with cash money to buy a 2021 Rogue. Felt like they couldve worked with me a little more on the price. I was told they made more money if they finance a vehicle instead of being paid cash upfront for it. Am gonna be 51yrs old, recently widowed on 2/14/2021 and this was the 1st brand new vehicle Ive ever purchased. My sales person, Kiara, was great. She was compassionate, patient and understanding. She understood what I was going through and said several times I want you to be satisfied and happy especially since this is your first new vehicle. You can sleep on it if need be because I dont want you to settle. The persons she had to get price approval for didnt seem to care as much. Was a bit hurt by their reluctance to help out more with the price

As of 9/13, I’m happy to say that every single one of my concerns has since been addressed and the outcome was better than I could’ve hoped for. Bought my car here, was promised free oil changes and inspections, and then today I was threatened by a service member that if I didnt purchase what they thought was regular maintenance that I would lose my free services. Thats not cool, and maybe I would get services done here if they werent overpriced.
