It was wonderful to be able to walk to Cure Coffeehouse from our hotel this morning. It was under a half mile one way. However, instead of buying coffee here, I ended up getting a few fresh pastries to take back to our room. We already had hotel coffee this morning and hit our caffeine limit, so it was nice to support this local business by getting a couple puff pastries and a muffin. They were delicious!
What an amazing little coffee bar! I stopped in for a quick lunch. I had the avocado toast with bacon and egg and a honey cinnamon latte. Wow! Both were so good I went back and got a chocolate chip cookie and a creme brulee latte to go. It was all so good! I forced myself to finish desert because I refused to throw a drop of it away. Now I need a nap to digest all this deliciousness! Friendly staff, great food, and amazing lattes. I highly recommend giving it a try.
Great coffee shop. Gluten free bagel option. Indoor and outdoor seating. Usually pretty busy during peak times and weekends. Great coffee and latte.
Very nice little place food and drink we’re outstanding
Cure is one of my favorite local coffee shops- the coffee and food offerings are equally delicious. The menu is a bit pricey but I have always thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered here. Great ambience and a sweet spot to come study or meet up with a friend!
Modern classy coffee shop. Love the vibe and has lots of indoor and outdoor seating.Just a half a mile walk from the PETA dog park so bring your pup!Make sure you visit during July for Harry Potter month!
This part of Freemason really feels a world away with cobblestone streets and a coffee shop like Cure where you can meet with friends and feel free to linger a little.Hummus is great. So is the turkey and fig sandwich.Lattes run a little on the sweeter side. Asking for half the syrup is the perfect fix for me.
The coffee was really good. The employees were very nice & pleasant. Nice atmosphere. Lots of indoor & outdoor seating. Plus they were open an hour earlier than all the other coffee shops!
My favorite coffee house in Norfolk! I love their cappuccinos and pastries. Theyre hangover sandwich and avocado toast are awesome!
Was there for the first time in a while when my partners folks were visiting.Took them there for breakfast on their 2nd day. We went again another day, and also once for lunch. What can I say...they REALLY liked it.Great food and coffee, friendly staff.Courteous customers as well - wish Id had a chance to thank the one that moved to a smaller table to open one up for us.Still following safety guidelines closely, and that is much appreciated as well!
Beet root latte? Toasted naan bread with chorizo, romesco, and chimichirri sauce? Out-of-the-box much? This place is on my top 5 go-to places in the country. The beet root latte as my niece puts it tastes like heaven with a hint of vanilla, and cinnamon. The bagels are simply divine. The toasted everything bagel and cream cheese is delightful. The head chef Alan goes above and beyond every single time. He cares and his passion for delicious concoctions is evident in every single bite. See you next Sunday.
Cute spot. I got 2 different coffees here and they just mostly tasted like milk lol. Pictured is a featured Harry Potter themed drink. Still tasted like mostly milk. Overall it was a good coffee tho.
Its a chill relaxing spot to clear your head. Its great for reading or writing and doing homework. Theres a nice little park near by that is walking distance. There is also a naval ship you can tour. You can get yourself a coffee and take a pleasant walk around the neighborhood and through the park. Theres pretty women all over the place, its also a great spot for a date. Downtown is near by with all kind of restaurants and pubs. Take a journal and or book and enjoy some good coffee. It was a little crowded when I went and hard to find a seat, but they have plenty of chairs. The restrooms they could improve on, seeing that they werent as sanitary as I wouldve liked.
Great atmosphere, food and coffee. Art on display was awesome.
Extremely overpriced for the service provided. I got a coffee and bagel (which was alright but nothing to write home about) for $20. At the time I was one of the only people in the shop and still they forgot to make my food. I finally got up the nerve to ask for it 45 minutes later. The WiFi wasn’t working early on in the day. I think I just expected a better experience and quality of good/drink if I am going to be investing that much money. Overall, would go elsewhere for a friendlier, cheaper, and better cup of Joe.
Friendly service..great coffee..yummy avocado toast..
This coffee shop is wonderful. Over the top respectful. Great customer service. Great atmosphere. They care deeply about the community and people.
These guys have a wonderful selection of pour over coffee blends, in house lattes, teas, and pastries of you want a snack. The feel of the interior was way better before Corona, but we can hardly hold that against them. Certainly worth a stop if you like coffee shops!
The staff here seems genuinely happy to be there, makes great recommendations and the service is quick! The cafe is in a great location and they have outdoor seating thats great for pets. I had the bourbon chai its delightful (and yes it gives you a nice buzz). And i asked for them to make me a mimosa with their sweetened passion fruit tea: so good! 10/10 will definitely be back!
We had a cream cheese and lemon dessert, with a vegan blueberry banana muffin, and a chocolate chip cookie. Our drinks were a latte with coconut milk and a peach and thyme lemonade. Everything was really yummy, particularly the muffin and lemonade being the best. For Harry Potter fans, the shop had a HP drink menu!
This place is great! The staff are very friendly and the coffee shop is always selling some very unique lattes. Should also mention there menu items are very delicious. You can really tell everything here is house-made.
Love Cure! Friendly folks, great coffee, enough food & treats selection to fill you up for a snack or for the day. The breakfast sandwich and avocado toast are my go-tos!
Cure coffee is a very quaint coffee shop with very good food. The only thing is the prices can be a little high in comparison to other local places with better coffee. Still is a very good place to eat and drink at.
Such fantastic customer service- I would absolutely give more stars if I could. So I tried one of their local beers to sit in and drink, then followed that up with a signature latte for my walk (I went with Churro flavored!). Both were excellent and I will absolutely make a point to visit next time Im in town! I really cant emphasize enough the overall quality of service with the person helping me, along with other staff helping other customers while I was there- truly superb and highly recommend checking out!Bits and bobbles- light charcuterie style menu (I didnt grab food this visit), lots of latte and coffee options as well as the aforementioned local beer and wine selection. Local artists work hanging up as well.
Cure always has tasty coffee drinks served with a smile and flare. The surprise is their delicious artisan food - sandwiches, soups, brunchy foods and baked goodies. My new favorite is the turkey with fig and cheese on artisan bread from The Bakehouse in Chelsea. Even their take in avocado toast- which I had to compliment their yummy Bloody Mary - was tasty. A real treat, with a vibe that makes you wanna return, in beautiful Freemason!
This place is just okay. Im upset with how they serve tea here its totally unhygienic. They give you a cup that is covered completely with a steel strainer (it is holding the tea). Idea is smart except the fact that the lid of the strainer isnt completely locked into it. So that means youre sitting on their tables, or treasure chest in my case, and you got nowhere to put this thing. Its pipping hot and you cant put this thing down sideways cause then the herbs come out and if you put it upside down like I did you get burned. Then you think about how many other people just threw this on the tables cause its that hot. They need to come up with a better way to serve tea, I got the Mutan white and it wasnt worth this annoying ordeal. I uploaded pics so you can see what I mean. The decor here is cute and pretty chic. Its got a nice ambiance to it and they offer wifi which is also a plus. They got a variety of lattes here, and a ton of interesting flavors. However, I got the pour over coffee here too and even that was meh. This is a cute place to go for a quick cup but more than that its totally mediocre.
Wonderful coffee and cute shop! I especially enjoy the lavender mocha. Servers are sweet and helpful! Will be going back
Very nice environment, the coffee is amazing, and the people are sweet :) highly recommended!
A little bit of a wait to order, but once we did, everything came out quickly and it was all very tasty.
Well served espresso with a sparkling water and a spoon. Great area to walk around and wander a bit.
Cant recommend this place enough! Great food, coffee, cocktails, beers, anything you could want, including the best sandwich Ive ever had (the rosemary and turkey). Cute atmosphere in a historic neighborhood with tasteful decor. They also have great events to participate in!
Located in historic West Freemason, Cure Coffeehouse is a quaint cafe along a cobblestone street surrounded by historic buildings. Although small looking from the outside, the inside is spacious with many tables spread out among two rooms. The baristas are friendly and sell pastries made fresh during the week. The coffee menu is large with almost ten different speciality lattes. My honey cinnamon latte was tasty and creamy.
Excellent coffee! We had the churro latte. The baristas are super friendly and knowledgeable.
Fun. Lots of great harry Potter flavors !
Looks impressive but we were third in line and waited 20 minutes and left poor service.Too bad we really wanted coffee
I’ve been going to Cure since it opened. It is my favorite coffee shop in Norfolk and perfect for any time of day. Though I find the prices a bit higher than other coffee shops you get a wonderful staff and extremely good food. The menu rotates out items all the time and there’s always something new to try (pictured is their Banh Mi). The coffee is exceptional. You’ll also find lots of fun events planned throughout the year from music shows to Harry Potter’s birthday. They have a range of both cocktails and beers/wines so it makes a great gathering space in the evening. There is always a place to sit and the high ceilings and large windows drape the room in sunshine.
Very good Please good stuff
Nice coffee shop with a good atmosphere. My churro latte was delicious. My only slight complaint is that the back seating area is very bare-- it could certainly use some decoration.
The food was absolutely fantastic, I met the kitchen manager Allen afterwards and he was such a great guy. My coffee was delicious, I didnt get my baristas name but she made a great cup of joe. Also the location is sublime. I loved this place.
First the creme Brule ice latte is fire second thank you thank you for having a changing table avaliable! highly recommended!
This place has the best food downtown. Superfood tacos. Straight from hippie heaven. Also make great oat milk coffees. Only place I’ll eat when I visit.
This restaurant is horrible. They have disrespected my daughter and mother both. Horrible customer service. Horrible atmosphere. They don’t care about community or people.
Great coffee shop! One of the best local coffee shops around! A must go for the vibe and excellent coffee!! Make sure you get some amazing food here as well. Support your local coffee shop y’all.
Pre-ordered a grazing board online and it was super easy to purchase. Followed the signs when I arrived that matched up with what was sent in my confirmation email, and pick up was smooth and swift!
The only issue is seats are not comfortable. Please get some coaches .
The employees really make this place. Ive been coming here with my wife . Ever since my first visit, when a genuinely friendly barista handed me a beautiful drink topped with latte art and wished me a wonderful day I was over my local Starbucks. Ive never been at Cure coffeehouse but I have to assume its simply a better place to work than Starbucks because of the stark contrast in employee demeanor. The BEST local coffee shop in Norfolk✊🏼
The coffee at Cure is EXCEPTIONAL! I find this place to be a great work environment with plenty of seating and outlets (at reasonable times of the day, that is). What many other coffee shops in Norfolk lack is good, natural lighting. The high windows at Cure allow for light to pour into the building and doing work here just feels so much more conducive. The baristas are very patient and accommodating and they bring your order right to your table for you, a fantastic service when you want to get back into work, reading, or whatever else brings you here. Would highly recommend going here for your next meetup or solo work session!
Its our first time visiting a coffee place in Virginia and it was pretty nice. The location was beautiful with the historic neighborhood and the cafe itself was good and clean. The barista was really helpful and friendly. I only gave 4 stars cause the drinks we got were good but Ive had better ones before and there were only 1 size. We got the cold brews.
Edit to my formerly 5 star review….The staff here need training. We were second in line waiting this morning. The cashier took a phone order and didn’t acknowledge the waiting line. The second employee was making a drink and didn’t acknowledge the waiting customers. The customer in front of us stormed out from frustration. We waited until the blond guy got off the phone. We waited for him to address us, time ticked by and we walked out in frustration as well. This is the second time we have been to Cure recently where slow service has encouraged us to leave. Literally money walking out the door.———————Former review.I love the atmosphere. I love the idea of the cure coworking space even if we havent tried it yet. Ive been here three times and have enjoyed coffee, two bottles of wine, and a cheese plate. The staff is lovely. We really enjoy it here.
Absolutely no bad experience here! The ladies at the front were so sweet and helpful on what her favorites were and what she recommended for what I said I liked. The alcoholic beverages so delicious if you’re looking for a drink with quality than to just get you drunk. The food was so incredibly good, my mouth is watering from thinking about it. The rice pudding could have used a bit more almond milk as it was a bit dry but I took it home and added some and it was very yummy. Otherwise this place is a cute little hangout spot I’d come to enjoy some table food and get some writing / work done.
They gave me the fancy coffee I needed to make myself feel richer than I actually am lol🤗🤗🤗
Cant believe my first visit was only a few weeks ago!! i knew it was there, but i didnt expect to love this place as much as i did :-)i only got a coffee (and it was great), but one of my friends ordered some food that looked good too!anyway, if i lived in norfolk.... this would def be a regular stop for me lmao
Best craft lattes in the tri-city area. Close competitor is Fair Grounds up in Ghent, but Cure just has magic in their coffee that makes me feel warm inside. Definitely my go-to shop in Norfolk.
Awesome coffee, great atmosphere - have to come back to sit down and relax one of these days...
