The Bonbonnier made our wedding cake and 96 cupcakes for our wedding. Our cake was so rich, flavorful, and moist and the homeade icing was to die for! Our guests raved about the cake and cupcakes! Lisa was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back in the future.

I placed an order for a coconut birthday cake with pineapple filling for my best friend. The order taker thanked me for giving her this idea for sliced cake sales. My initial contact was very pleasant, and so I was very excited. The cake was ready in 2 days made special just the way I ask. When I saw it, even though it was small for a $40 cake, I thought WOW because it was cute, and I couldnt wait to taste it. This is where my issue came in and why I could not give it 5 stars. The cake tasted more like sugar than anything and there was more icing then there was cake. I felt bad, and it was a huge disappointment for my gathering as I handed out slices and listened to everyone woo and oh my as they ate it, leaving huge blocks of icing on their plates and told that it was, toothache and diabetes sweet! I would have preferred 3 bigger layers, as these were very unusually thin and baked way too dark, not so much icing in between because you could barely taste the pineapple, and a not so thick layer of icing on the outside. It wasnt a hit, not at all what I anticipated to taste, and definitely not worth the money I spent, but I do appreciate the effort towards satisfying my needs. Thanks anyway.

Super cute sweet spot to go after dinner and a show. We went in not knowing what we wanted and spent a lot of time just taking in all of the treats on display. The lady working there (owner?) was super friendly and helpful. My husband and I shared a gigantic slice of cake and purchased a few things from the chocolate displays to bring home. Lots of vintage candy available too. It was a fun place to stop. Well go again when we are in the area. Check it out.

The woman who helped me today on 01/08/21 was amazing!!! She was very knowledgeable about all the delicious baked goods they had. And even helped me carry the items to my car. Today is my grandmas 93rd birthday so thank you so much for your help. I will post pics later.

My wife discovered this little shop a few years ago and it is now a must stop anytime we are near Norfolk. We absolutely love the staff - but not as much as the homemade chocolates and CAKES! The CAKES are enormous and really great. The carrot cake I think is their best of a good selection (see Oreo, and Peanut Butter and Chocolate, too). My friends in Norfolk refuse to get their cakes anywhere else. My little nieces love the specialty dipped apples which are too big, but they try. I sampled the sticky buns the other day and they are just like everything else - too good. Its the kind of place where you could lose 2 hours and leave smelling like chocolate and with a really big smile. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount that you get. Heres a photo of a Chocolate Strawberry cake that we had with friends two days and a long drive later and it was still perfect. Definitely wish they would open one of these up closer to Lancaster, PA!

Amazing, niche chocolatier/bakery in Ghent. The adorable cupcakes and amazing cakes are just a few of the spectacular treats you can find here. I use them personally as well as for business birthdays and parties. The owner and her staff are always extremely helpful and very sweet. When looking to support a local bakery make sure you check them out!

I needed a cake at the very last minute for my dad’s birthday. We got one from the cooler in the front. It was pineapple coconut. I don’t even like coconut but that cake was DELICIOUS. She was super nice and took great care of us. If you’re having a sweet tooth go see her and support a veteran.

The carrot cranberry cake was great...1 piece is gigantic. They have bon bons for every fast bud.. Jack daniels, amaretto, rum....... Tons of others. Only one tiny round table inside. Very nice girl waited on us. I ordered a regular coffee...as opposed to cappuccino or espresso and the coffee wasnt very good at all...but probably would have been great for most people.. Im just REALLY picky about my coffee.. Probably would have been happy if I added an espresso shot to it. Convenient parking right in front but I could see if it was busy parking may be problematic as I only saw street parking. I would go again.

I got a slice of their chocolate cappuccino cake and my mouth was watering before Id even tasted it. $5 seemed expensive for a single slice of cake at first but it was certainly worth it, not to mention absolutely gigantic! Definitely recommended for chocolate and/or cake lovers. The customer service was amazing as well. They were extremely friendly and it felt less like a confectionery shop and more like being invited over by family :) Id give this place 6 stars if I could!

Lisa and her team are absolutely phenomenal. We ordered our wedding cake from them (carrot cake with pecan/coconut filling and cream cheese icing) after signing up for one of the tasting sessions, which I HIGHLY recommend for those who dont know what kind of cake theyre interested in purchasing. She sat with me to consult on the size required and to discuss decorations - a lovely experience all around. I highly recommend you spring for the $50 delivery; one less thing to worry about on the big day!

The store-made candy and treats always taste delightful and are beautifully crafted! Theres a variety of flavors Ive never seen anywhere else, I come here with friends a lot and its fun to just try everything new. I adore the novelty candy and simple old fashioned ice cream, the whole place is a dazzling collection of goodies that truly inspires the kid in me. Ive met the owners as well too and they are super sweet and kind folk. Everyone Ive brought over to check this place out has loved it, its a quaint little gem of this area.

I must confess Im not big on chocolate. My husband grabbed some truffles from here which I had a bite of. Those were the best damn truffles I ever had. I will definitely be getting some for myself next time.

Absolutely in love with this place! The owner was so sweet and incredibly helpful. As soon as we walked in she greeted us with a smile and offered us a sample of the most amazing chocolate. The Reese cup was to die for! I will definitely be back soon!

The customer service is impeccable. I come here very often as the candy is cheap and the sodas are very extravagant. I was compelled to leave a review when today, after coming in soaking wet (it was raining), I was offered a free umbrella for when I left. I love it here.

Upon entering you are greeted by the aroma of desserts that is promptly matched by polite and quick service. My wife has ordered from here several times but this is the first time I have come to the shop and it is quite the place to be! They have a large selection of truffles and other delightful treats one must come by to enjoy the experience. There is a $5 minimum charge for your credit card but this is common practice with shops and only pushes you to buy more treats!

The ladies at Bonbonnier are not only devoted to their craft, but knowledgeable & friendly. Theyll happily chat with you about candy, beer, wine, the weather, or just whats happening around Ghent while you peruse their collection of hand crafted & vintage candies.Its an excellent little shop to drop in for a treat while exploring the shops in Ghent.

It is not often that I leave a review but after coming here, it was a must. Not only is it reasonably priced, the goodies are well worth every penny. Not to mention the mentality it brings to know you are supporting a local business, helping them have food on their plates at night. These people are the most kind-hearted and welcoming individuals I have ever met. Walking in, you feel your inner child jump for joy and when you take a bite out of that bananas foster truffle, you melt inside because your body can hardly handle the incredible tastes hitting every single one of your taste buds, SCREAMING HALLELUJAH!! I had the pleasure of getting to try one of their cakes for a special 15th year work anniversary for my boss today. I ordered the Chocolate Overload in a Medium size because lets face it - death by chocolate is the way to go. My boss absolutely LOVED this cake, and I think the whole office was excited to have some. I really enjoyed how chocolatey the cake was without feeling too overwhelming. It was a four layer cake and I could not believe it. It was just amazing. I walked into their shop to pick up the cake and felt like I was in heaven. Thank you so much for helping to make my bosss 15th year anniversary feel so special. She didnt see it coming! Ill have to take another trip to try more items very soon!

The owner was very nice... I ordered a yellow cake with chocolate icing and cookie dough filling.... it was a very good thought but it was not the best combination... the cake didnt taste fresh and it wasnt moist no matter long u left it out for... the cake all together for what I payed was not worth it...

You cant get half a foot in the door before youre showered with welcomes and samples. I caught the owner behind the counter and she was incredibly sweet and excited to talk about the shop and all their candy.Speaking of which, all the chocolate I tried was to die for, the hot chocolate I drank was delicious, and the selection of truffles was dizzying. Im very happy to have stumbled on this place and will be coming back often.

First time coming into this Bakery.ordered a cake for a friend who is now 42 whom never never ever had a birthday cake of his own 😥 so I order his favorite cake from here.which was a red velvet the sweetest nicest lady there told me theres was good and he would be pleased and love his cake.she even let me try a carrot cake that was awesome..SO AT HIS PARTY AT THE JOB ONLY ONE PIECE WAS CUT IT WAS SUPER DRY AND NOT EVEN RED!! SMH.... JUST CALL THE BAKERY SPOKE TO SOMEONE TO LET THEM KNW IT WAS DRY....AND WAS ONLY TOLD SORRY IT SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN DRY!! SMH WORSE FIRST OWN BIRTHDAY CAKE HE HAD...

The customer service is as good as the truffles, bonbons, black & white cookies, candy apples, and other in-house made delicacies, which never disappoint. We held our daughters 5th birthday party there in the party room and ordered a cake from the Bonbonnierre. Hummingbird cake, red velvet cake and chocolate raspberry cake were our top favorite flavors to choose from and the adult guests enjoyed the cake while the children had were satisfied with their ice cream sundaes. Toppings for the sundaes were a part of the party and the owners even sent the rest of the toppings home with us.We frequent this establishment often for ourselves and for gifts for others.

BEWARE !!! PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING FROM THIS BAKERY.I purchased a half sheet cake, red velvet, for my sisters graduation graduation party one week ago. The cake was picked up, delivered to the party and cut all within one hour. When cutting into the cake, the cake crumbled and wav very dry when tasting.All of the guests were unimpressed and not happy with the low quality of the cake, which we paid $70 for. I immediately called and informed the store of our unsatisfaction.The store owner called me back 3 days later and asked that we bring the cake into the bakery for assessment and offered a partial refund via telephone.I live in NC, but my sister lives in VA. She took time out of her busy schedule from her new job to take the cake back to the bakery as requested. Upon arrival, she received an unfriendly greeting, rude customer service and was refused the partial refund which was offered.When my sister referred to the cake as “dry”, the employee/owner replied “Its not what you are use to” which can be taken as a derogatory statement along the lines of ethnicity. Not sure of the racial intent of that statement but it was very unprofessional and unbecoming of an adult.I will be following up with the Better Business Bureau on this transaction. I would recommend you not purchase from this bakery due to there low quality and unprofessionalism.
