Protecting our home from fire and theft is important to us. Whether we are home or not, I feel safe knowing our ADT alarm is operating properly and has ADT oversight. Very happy with their service since 2005.

Im military, and have had ADT since 2014. When I purchased my system, I was told that when I had to PCS my equipment would go with me, or ADT would replace it at my new location at no additional charge. What a deal! This, however, is not what happens. Upon each PCS, 4 so far, I have been told that my equipment is outdated and no longer works on the system, thereby forcing me to buy new cameras, etc for each move. Unfortunately for me, each PCS, except for this one, has coincided with a deployment, and I had no opportunity to dispute these additional charges. In this particular instance, my equipment was less than a year old, and upon purchase, I was told that it was the roughest, toughest, most weather resistant thing on the market. Yet, when I asked to have them install it at the new property, I was told by the installer that he wasnt being paid to install them and that they wouldnt work with my new system, yet it was the same model camera they were installing. Upon further investigation, and a call to ADT corporate, a tech, on a recorded line, told me that this was not correct and that he would send out an installer to put up my cameras free of charge. On the scheduled day of install, I received a call from the local ADT manager stating that they would come install my cameras, but it would cost an additional $250+, this was in addition to the first $250 from the first install. When I commented that this wasnt what the corporate tech told me, the manager requested that we cancel this appointment while he researched the call, and that he would call back later in the day. Hours turned to days, to weeks, no response. Finally I caved, and paid the additional money, in order to have the necessary security. My installer was a nice guy, but damaged my home during the install, immediately owned up to the damage, and sent photos to his management and copied me on the email. He said someone would be calling me later that day. Once again, days to weeks, till over a month with no response. Finally after calls and emails, Im told by the local manager that I have a claim number and adjuster, and that he would reach out to me, or that I could call him to have this problem fixed. One guess as to what happens next... days to weeks later, my calls and emails go unanswered from the adjuster and local manager. I just want my damages fixed, but let this be a warning to the type of service you are likely to receive, and especially to anyone thats told your equipment will follow you at no additional charge baloney. Unfortunately, this probably affects frequent movers, like our military, more often. I would strongly suggest looking at smaller, local companies based on my recent experience in this area.

A manager of some sort came to my home unmasked in the middle of a pandemic and was rude when I asked him to please stop bothering us. This was the second person who came by, possibly the third according to a neighbor. We were sent multiple mailers offering the service, too. We were NOT interested and couldnt have been more clear about it. The man muttered f*ck off under his breath when I mentioned he wasnt even wearing a mask. Why would I bother getting home protection from a company whose employees cant even be bothered to protect my health (and their own) by wearing a mask when trying to sell me the service?

We had a very knowledgeable genuinely kind, respectful service technician come to our home today. He came to install updated equipment. He explained what he was doing step by step. He was very conscious of our privacy, walked us through online signatures and kept us safe with wearing a mask. We will definitely ask for Wilfredo if we need anything else in the future. He is a gem.....

Ive been an ADT customer for the past 3+ years. I must tell everyone that ADT is one of few that has gotten excellent customer services right. My service technician, Cory, resolved my issue to my satisfaction. From start to completion of needed services, everyone I spoke with in ADT about my device issues, handled my call for service in the most professional manner I could have expected. A HUGE thank you to the ADT customer service/technical support teams.

My technician Aubrey Barrett was awesome. He was very professional and safe(he updated our system during this pandemic) and was very thorough explaining everything about our new system and how it worked. His immediate supervisor Barry Pugh followed up with us after our install and he was great as well. I would recommend both of them for anyone getting ADT for installation or upgrading on your existing system.

Our Technician Darryl was great. Arrived on time and ready to setup everything. Installation went great and Darryl provided a lot of information and guidance on where to set the sensors and touch pad which would best cover the house. I felt safe with his recommendations and he explained why it was best to place them where we did However I am not pleased with the level of sales service. I purchased this for my daughter for her new home and wanted the cameras for the exterior of the home. Not being the most tech savvy person I wish more information would have been provided so I could have gotten the cameras. The touch pad is also not mount free for in the home which I was told that it would not have to be mounted to the wall and as long as we had the wifi it could go to any room in the house, and this was not the case. So not the system I wanted and now I have to wait to get my provider services changed to meet the capability of the cameras to then have those installed for an additional charge.

ADT is slow to attempt to fix problems. I got a doorbell installed, but now the ringer in my house hums constantly. The tech (who was difficult to schedule) was unable to offer anything other than a replacement doorbell, which didnt fix the issue. He shrugged and listed the work order as complete.

Technician (Mark) arrived within the 4 hour window, diagnosed, and fixed the problem within 5 minutes. He then found another issue I was not even aware of and fixed that one also. Very happy with his performance.

Richard was the technician sent for my install. He was very prompt, knowledgeable, & professional. He even came back to show me something additional in the system. I got all of my questions answered except how to link my key fob to the new system, but only because I forgot to ask him.

Technician just showed up and did not call. He left his trash on the floor after he left. He moved my daughters bunk bed to install the camera and did not move it back. My daughter is only 9 and I am pregnant so we could not move it back. He did not explain anything to me. Horrible customer service.

Highway robbery and one of the worst customer experiences that I have EVER had. Called to cancel. Spent an hour on phone with retention specialist. Was basically held over a barrel pay $850 to cancel service OR sign up for another 3 yr contract. Wound up signing something that I am not at all comfortable with. ADT has not bothered to uphold the promises they made on signing of original contract but demand that you uphold your end to the letter. RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY

If you are in the military, take care before signing on for the 36 month contract. You will have to pay a substantial fee to discontinue the service, even if you are moving out of your house. I would not recommend this service for anyone who is unsure if they will be in the same house for less than 36 months.

05/20/2020 PHONE ENCOUNTERS WITH ADT MOVING AND RELOCATION, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND FINALLY CUSTOMER LOYALTY AND RETENTION DEPARTMENTS NIGHTMARE AND SUBSEQUENT ADT SECURITY SYSTEM REMOVAL ON 05/21/2020.I AM COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED WITH ADT MOVING AND RELOCATION DEPT FOR TRYING TO SELL ME ANOTHER 3 YEAR CONTRACT WHEN I MOVE, TELLING ME JUST LEAVE YOUR EQUIPMENT (WHICH I SUPPOSEDLY GOT FOR FREE: I OWN) ON THE WALL AND WE WILL GIVE YOU A CREDIT TO GET ANOTHER SECURITY SYSTEM AND ANOTHER 3 YEAR MONITORING CONTRACT!!! I SAID NO. I INFORMED ALL OF THEM FROM THE START THAT I DID NOT WANT ANOTHER 3 YEAR CONTRACT. I TOLD THEM THAT I JUST WANTED OUT OF ANY CONTRACT WITH ADT SINCE THEY WOULD NOT SUSPEND MY SERVICE UNTIL I MOVED TO FLORIDA AND FIGURED OUT WHERE I WAS MOVING TO. RENTALS AND HOME SALES INVENTORY ARE COMPLETELY AT HISTORIC LOWS WITH THIS COVID ENVIRONMENT. I HAVE DUTIFULLY PAID ALL OF MY MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR 22 MONTHS.WHEN i FINALLY GOT THE LOYALTY/RETENTION DEPT., DEMANDING THAT ADT SERVICE REMOVE MY EQUIPMENT AS VERBALLY PROMISED BY 3RD PARTY INSTALLER, MY MONITORING CONTRACT BE SUSPENDED UNTIL I MOVED AND THAT I WOULD NOT AGREE TO ANOTHER 3 YEAR CONTRACT ONCE MOVED, THE REP DEMANDED I PAY THE BALANCE (14 MOS.) DUE UNDER THE CONTRACT. I FIRST REFUSED AND THEN TOLD HER I WANTED TO PAY THE WHOLE THING OFF AND BE DONE W/ ADT. THEN, THE WOMAN TOLD ME SHE WOULD ADJUST MY MONTHLY MONITORING PAYMENT TO $14.99+ TAXES FOR SIX MONTHS. I SAID OK. THEN, 2 DAYS LATER, I RECEIVED A BILL FOR MY REGULAR ADT MONTHLY PAYMENT ($57) PLUS $14.99 PLUS $25 WHICH I ALREADY PAID DIRECTLY TO THE TECHNICIAN AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE CALL ON 5/21/20.THE MOVING/RELOCATING PUBLIC, INCLUDING OUR PRECIOUS MILITARY FAMILIES, NEEDS TO KNOW THAT ADT DOESNT BREAK EVEN ON THE FREE EQUIPMENT THEY INSTALL (IN EXCHANGE FOR A 3 YEAR MONITORING SERVICE CONTRACT) UNTIL AFTER 3 YEARS OF MONTHLY MONITORING PAYMENTS. ADTS MOVING & RELOCATION DEPT. AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. ARE SOLEY INTERESTED IN BULLYING THE CUSTOMER/MOVER INTO WHEN YOU MOVE, LEAVE YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM EQUIPMENT ON THE WALL, AND AFTER YOU MOVE, WE WILL GIVE YOU A CREDIT FOR ANOTHER NEWER SECURITY SYSTEM AND ANOTHER 3 YEAR CONTRACT. THEY GET ANOTHER UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMER TO GET THEM TO RENEW ANOTHER 3 YEAR CONTRACT WHEN THEY MOVE, NOW GIVING THEM TWO NEW 3 YEAR CONTRACTS = PROFIT!SADLY, IN HAMPTON ROADS, VA AND OTHER NATIONAL MILITARY BASE LOCATIONS, ADT PREYS ON OUR MILITARY FAMILIES THAT MOVE FREQUENTLY, WITH HUSBAND/FATHERS WHO ARE DEPLOYED FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, LEAVING WIVES/CHILDREN ALONE AT HOME WITH A HUGE NEED TO FEEL SAFE IN THEIR HOME ABSENT THEIR PROTECTOR HUSBAND/FATHER. ADT was a great overall experience for 10 years of my life. I met wonderful friends and family and made many memories here. To the previous poster Chris, this reference is to ADT. Your pushy rep was likely from an authorized dealer. While they operate with the ADT name and reputation, they still operate their own businesses and as such can have lower standards than ADT corporate.

We are ADT customers. Ive called ADT multiple times about our alarm system having issues and still try to charge me an arm and leg for sending someone out. Good monitoring but tech support is ridiculously unprofessional. Luckily our system is working. Finally. Will continue as ADT customers and long as they keep their act together. Good monitoring, as I said before. Just the office people.

ADT has been the worst business I have had to deal with. I was lied to on several occasions. To begin, I was renting a house back when I was still in school that was broken into. As a result I got ADT, but only after the Mager had promised me I would stop having to pay after I moved out. After I had graduated and moved out, not only did I still have to pay for a house I was not living in. To cancel they charged me an addition 1,200 dollars. The reason being is that I had moved houses during the school year and was told to pay a transfer fee, but was not told the contract of two years would restart. Again I assumed it would be over after a year as agreed upon. Then when I had asked to speak to the mager who made the original deal with me, I was denied to speak with him. ADT ended up taking more money from me than the people who broke into my home. If I was to give any advice, it would be to NOT use ADT and find another company to protect ur home.

This is a wonderful company - if you dont listen to the pushy sales push they will leave notes on your car from the Regional Sales Manager calling you obscenities I wont repeat on Google. Advise everyone to stay away from this disreputable company. They go under the name mysafehaven in Virginia Beach. Beware the unprofessionalism! Would give 0 stars if I could.
