Please don’t identify as black owned and women owned when you’re neither, it’s offensive. Don’t use the community and target audience to gain more profit by deceiving those that identify as such. The beauty industry is a billion dollar business. Meaning you will have women and black people purchase from your business regardless of whether you identify as this or not. African American women represent more than half of beauty consumers. Be transparent and let your business practices speak for themselves. Don’t allow an algorithm to determine whether you choose to follow best business practices or not.

I started shopping there a year or so ago, I absolutely love it.. I have brought several wigs and every time I wear one i get compliments on how pretty they are. This is my go to store in Norfolk.. Try them out if you havent already. You definitely will not regret it.

The first time coming here I felt like I was being followed because I had my purse with me. The second time I came in without my purse. I was looking to purchase some hair and although I like the products they offer I felt like they were overpriced. I also do not like the way they talk to their black employees. It seems a bit too bossy. Anyway, if you are looking to purchase bundles you’ll be better off going to Ali express to find a good vendor. I spent half the price and my purchase shipped out the next day.

I always love going to Manhattan. A huge selection of all beauty products. The gentleman at the cash register today 8/31/21 was sooo nice. Most beauty supply stores you barely get a greeting, but he was welcoming and helpful.

Beautiful Brown Women: I really love how the Asians are starting to learn how to sell and accommodate and learn about our culture. This store is all about the black womens wants and needs when it comes to hair and hair care. I wish it was black owned but overall great store and friendly employees.

Literally a one stop shop. Theyre on the pricey side compared to other beauty supply stores, but Ive never not been able to find what I needed. They have a huge selection of almost everything so its definitely worth the few extra dollars.

I give it four stars because it is a little pricey for so people. I like that have a large selection to choose from. If you need a good wig check them out first you will probably find what you want. The store is big and has a good shopping environment. So if it is hair or supplies you need MB my just be your one stop shop.

I was hooked when the radio commercial used to say…HELLO!!! I have been visiting Manhattans since it opened. I have purchased three high end wigs from here which have held up over time. They even cut your lace and install wigs. This store has everything. It’s very clean, well stocked, a stays open really late, which is appreciated. They used to give you Manhattan bucks but I think this has been discontinued. They will allow you to return your item which tells me that they care about their customers because sometimes you buy the wrong thing. You should stop by soon!

I am a BIG beauty supply store shopper! I’ve come across thousands Over the course of 25 years. They’ve come a long way and some are still stuck in the dark ages. Living in Hampton VA finding a good store that actually has a fully stocked supply of the brands and styles that are popular right now is difficult. That’s when I found Manhattan Beauty Supply in Norfolk. The minute I walked in OMG WOW factor!! They not only have a huge store, but nearly everything I’ve been looking for. The staff is so helpful and friendly it makes your shopping experience one of a kind!! They are no my ONLY store that I do not mind venturing through the tunnels for.

My final purchase here was in September of 2020. I purchased 5 packs of hair and only opened one of them. I did not like the quality of the hair, so I returned the 4 packs that were unopened. During this transaction though, a man at the register told me that he could not accept a pack of hair because it looked as if it had been opened. There was nothing shady-looking about the pack of hair. There was only ONE STRAND OF HAIR that was out of place. And yet, I felt as though I was being scammed. They claimed that they could not sell this pack of hair because of the ONE STRAND OF HAIR that was out of place. Surprisingly enough, that single strand of hair was so unnoticeable, that I managed to purchase this pack of hair the day prior. That was a completely baseless excuse for not wanting to give me my money back. Especially considering the fact that the single strand of hair could have been clumped together with the rest of the hair as an easy fix. People, be careful. There seems to be a bit of dishonest service present at this establishment.

At other stores this hair is about or $20 a pack. Score!!!!

This establishment does not make me feel my business is wanted. I have visited multiple times and almost everytime I have visited I have felt unwanted. From being followed around the store to constantly asking if I want/need the amount of hair that I purchase. I have 3 daughters, so if I come into an establishment and purchase multiple packs of hair, I do not want to be questioned about my choice. I am not sure why they constantly think I cannot count the number of packs of hair in my hands. The thing is I only wanted to purchase 6 packs of crochet twist hair and 3 packs of Nu locs. Why am I being questioned about the amount of hair I would like to purchase? On a separate occasion, I attempted to purchase 2 packs of straight 1B clip ins and was told I could only purchase 1 pack since those were the last 2. Either way they were going to get the money for both packs, so why does it matter which customer buys the last pack. I have given this establishment too many chances to make me feel my business is wanted. I will not be spending my money here again. I would rather drive further out to a place I feel comfortable shopping.

The excellent customer service is a reason to shop at this store. I purchased the Bellatique 3-bundles and a closure but was not satisfied with the quality of the hair. I was not happy because I felt like I wasted a lot of money. The owner asked me to come in and discuss the matter. I am glad I went. While dealing with me, he showed kindness, patience and fairness and that caused me to leave with a smile on my face. Customer service is very important and you did an excellent job. The prices are very expensive, probably 2 to 3 dollars more than any other hair store around. However, they usually have what you need just at at a higher than normal price.

Bad quality hair and even though sales are final. If youre selling hair for $65 and the quality is horrible before you even get to wear it the least they could do is if you have a receipt to let you exchange it for something of equal or less value or fix the hair. Im very upset about this purchase they got me this time but Im never going here again Id rather go to Diamond Beauty.

I do not remember the young girls name that helped my mom and I, but she was very nice and helpful. I explained to the young girl about my mom going through chemo and was looking for a wig that looked similar to her own hair style and color. She was able to find something similar to what my mom saw. To me she went above what she needed to. She was very pleasant to my mom who is 86. I would definitely recommend this store to others.

You cannot beat the diversity of wigs and accessories here! On the south side of the water this is by far the cleanest, best hair store around! The ladies working the wigs in the back will treat you like family! Also they do carry NYX products, kiss lashes, LA girl cosmetics and a ton of other great brands. You can find hair products in aisles based on type of hair which makes it super convenient! I always go in saying I will spend under a hundred and an hour later I come out with five bags full just over 130 in great wigs, hair product and makeup and a smile. One stop shop! I used to live a couple blocks away and now live in Chesapeake and I. STILL GO 15mins out the way JUST TO BUY HERE!!

DONT SHOP HERE!!!🤪People of color please be extremely aware if you choose to shop at this location!! The owner and manager was extremely rude to us just now!! She incorrectly rang up our merchandise and proceeded to get frustrated. After I asked her to re-ring the transaction she got irrate and began yelling at us as if we had done something wrong. When her employee stepped in to assist, she demanded that she was the manager and continued to yell at us. After some debate I decided to forgo the purchase and get a refund for the transaction. She then threw our receipt at us and continued to have an assinine attitude when I told her she should improve her customer service skills. There is NO REASON we should spend our hard earned consumer dollars with businesses who dont show us respect or kindness or general good customer service!!

I went there on yesterday may 30,2020 Ill never go back the customer service is horrible I went looking for gloves wasnt sure exactly where they were I ask the African American Man whom was up front he told me some isle so I went didnt have the size I was looking for after another customer pointed to me wear they was located its never what you say its always how you say it so I end up buying something else as I was standing waiting for him to ring me up for purchase he made me wait granted there was a customer at the counter but he left so common sense should have told him to ask me are you ready to check out but he didnt so a lady name Ms. Morris came up and took me but to all thats reading this there a another hair shop right down the street behind Captain Dees bye the flee Market they are really nice and there prices are nice too.
