Absolutely AWFUL! I understand the concept of sold as is, but I paid $25,000 for a car and got a check engine light THE NEXT DAY! The dealership gave us the runaround and provided absolutely NO information or assistance and cost us THOUSANDS in repairs. They even sold us a warranty that the car didn’t even qualify for. Was a waste of thousands more dollars. DO NOT take a chance with this dealership, it can cost you THOUSANDS and give you so much anxiety. These people are AWFUL. If you are reading this PLEASE do not buy a car here. Truly not worth the risk. I promise you!

Dont bother visiting this dealership if youre coming from out of town and saw something online. Wendy, the Internet Sales Manager, doesnt know anything at all about the vehicles on the lot. I spoke with her over the course of the entire day about the vehicle. I asked mechanical questions about the radiator, I talked to a salesperson about the condition of the body, all kinds of stuff. Everyone was very nice, and I made an appointment with Wendy to come see the vehicle (a 2006 Nissan Xterra)About 1.5 hours into my drive to see the vehicle the next day I get a call from Ryan who was very distressed to inform me that the car DOES NOT RUN AND HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE BACK OF THE LOT UNDER A TREE FOR WEEKS. Not only does it not run, but it will cost so much to fix it that they decided not to even bother... yet its STILL listed online (on their website and others, like cars.com and autotrader, etc).I took the day off and drove about 80 of the 110 miles to get there just to be told that, apparently, the only person who knows whats going on with the vehicles on their lost had his day off the day prior and the INTERNET SALES MANAGER is clueless.So if you absolutely feel you must buy a car here, make sure you talk to Ryan or someone who actually knows whether the vehicles they stock run or not. He was pleasant. Wendy just made excuses like she doesnt feel its her responsibility to know or not. Maybe it isnt, but thats not the kind of place I want to do business with.

Car bought teansmition went, 3600 repair, the warranty company they use Sidecar inc, tru warranty wont cover it even on the platinum coverage. They dealership was nice people but beware of the extended warranty they offer.. definitely double check everything on what ever car they selling you.

Scheduled a test drive appointment and drove 30 minutes to learn that the salesman was off and the car was being repaired and was off site. I was unhappy to say the least, as it was my sons birthday and the car was a potential gift. A nice gentleman named Leonard then attempted to show me another car however he couldnt locate the keys to that vehicle. To add insult, he then offered showed me an 09 Grand Prix that was literally chugging black smoke out of the tailpipes and told me hed let me have it for 5 grand. I was floored. I came prepared to make a cash sale, and found things to be in complete disarray. I wasnt making a huge purchase but it meant everything to my son. I emailed the manager, and of course got no response.
I had to find a vehicle for my mother, found 518 on car gurus. I was apprehensive at first at the whole used car experience BUT after talking with Manny, my mind was put at ease. This by far has been my best experience at buying a car. Manny was straightforward and honest. He did everything he said he would do and didnt try to get over on me. Amazing buying experience from start to finish. A great team of guys running the place. Fritz went through great lengths to take care of me and get me what I wanted as I had traveled a fair distance to see the 2006 Envoy they had listed online. My only advice to anyone reading this is to research and study the cars you want to buy and know what to look for when inspecting them, 518 provides free Carfax for everything on their lot. If you know what you want and approach them with respect they will do everything in their power to make sure you get it. Driven a couple hundred miles on this Envoy as of writing this review and it is great so far.
I had my ups and downs dealing with 518, there are some things that could use improvement. Communication between sales and customer definitely needs improvement. Mike Dalton the owner is my main reason for the positive review, by communicating with me and making sure pretty much everything I needed was taken care of. I truly believe he cares about his customers satisfaction and business.

Barring any unforeseen hidden issues with the car I bought, which I dont anticipate, Id say 518 is a pretty top notch place. They have a clean lot and building and the cars are in better shape than at most used car dealerships in the area. Certainly better than anywhere else I looked except for Towne Auto Brokers. Also, I got a good deal. Potentially a great deal if all is as it appears to be. The process was quick and easy and the salesman, Ethan, even offered to order GrubHub/ Taco Bell because we were hungry. The only bad side really is that I bought the coolest car they had so youll be shopping my sloppy seconds, but hey, you could do worse.

There was NO pressure, but they did EVERYTHING to ensure it was a positive car buying experience. They made sure we got excellent financing. I was a little leary at first about doing business at a non-major automaker dealership, but this was an exceptional experience.
Michael Gibbs and Ryan Duarte took excellent care of me and made sure that I got the car that I wanted in excellent (basically brand new) shape. The price was right and they didnt give me any run around. I LOVE my car and Im sure youll find a car that you love too if you check them out.
Update: I upgraded my rating from 3 to 5 stars. The dealership reached out to me, apologized for the detail job, and offered to compensate me for my time. As that was my only complaint and that’s beeiin addressed, this place has more than earned a 5 star rating!The Good: Price! Definitely the best bang for your buck in the area! Employees are also pretty laid back.The Bad: I asked to have the car detailed before I’d pick it up. The car was “cleaned”, but far from detailed. The inside of the windshield was still so dirty I could hardly see out of it. The trunk area was still full of dog hair, the seats hadn’t even been touched, and the stickers, that I had asked to be removed, were still in place. The car at pick up represents the dealership, and I wasn’t impressed. It took me half a day to fully detail the car the next day. Never had to do that with a car I just purchased.

I bought a truck here a year ago and just know they are the stereotypical sleezy used cars sales folks. I went in with my guard down because I had been to a few other places where everyone was super respectful and honest, but just didnt have what I was looking for. I got fast talked into a truck I didnt want and the salesman lied about what repairs had been made from the state safety inspection. Turns out I shouldnt have even been driving this on a test drive, never the less off the lot. I finally just traded it in to end this nightmare of an experience and it turns out the odometer had been rolled back 100,000 miles which had not been disclosed to me! I feel embarrassed for falling for such a scam because I was kind of in a hurry, but just know going in not to believe what they tell you and they are absolutely willing to sell you a hunk of junk and will use all the schemes available to do it.Update: Called as per the companies response. I was explained in detail all my concerns and was threatened with a civil suit for negative reviews. He explained they dont do research on their vehicles and it is up to the buyer to check that there are no odometer rollbacks and to check the legality of the paperwork they provide. Good luck if you decide to buy from them.

Barely had this car for a year. Literally a month after having it. It cut completely off in the middle of a major intersection as I came to a stop. And got so bad that I couldnt go down my street without it cutting off. Went to Firestone to get it looked at. Spent a good $350+ just on minor fixes. That carried it for a while. Another few weeks roll by and had to bring it in for some work to find out I needed a new timing belt, actuators, and solenoids which was ringing in at about $3500 in total repairs. Going cross country to report to my new military command and engine literally just about exploded. Got towed to Firestone just to get told that 3/6 pistons were bad, a rod somewhere in the car snapped, and that my oil pan basically exploded. One of the managers came to tell me that the cheapest route would be to get an entirely new engine because who ever had it before me did a p*ss poor job of maintaining that vehicle to inspection standards. I literally had this car no more than a year as of today. If you go here, bring a certified professional mechanic and have him take a look at it. Customer service aint bad at all at the place, they just sell sh*t cars and are not honest with whats on their lot. Be cautious. Will definitely be hearing from me very soon.

Found a nice car, went for a test drive, come to find out someone stole the inspection sticker. So Mark said that he would give us a call to get it reinspected and he said he reported it to the police that the sticker was stolen. That was in July. Here it is the middle of September and still have not heard anything about it. When the license plates came in for the car, he didnt call us, we came up there on the day that the temporary tags expired waiting for him to call us. I asked about the inspection sticker again and he gave me the same bs, that was at the beginning of August. In our paperwork this company agreed to get the car reinspected and still nothing. I was told, my son wouldnt get pulled over because of everything going on the police dont care and if he were to get pulled over Mark said he would pay for the ticket himself. Does it really have to take that? Why dont you just keep your word or just be real, you never intended to get the car reinspected in the first place....

This is the 4th car I’ve purchased from Kyle at 518 and don’t plan on ever going anywhere else. Ryan was my salesman at 518 and takes care of me every time I’m there. He is the best salesman I’ve ever seen and goes above and beyond to find me whatever car I want. He hunted for this Tahoe for months before he found it and sent me a picture of it and drove it over to me to show it to me and everything. Ryan at 518 is amazing. I want to say 518 auto is the best dealership I have been to. They treat you like family and they make sure you are happy and taken care of. I went there in Feb. to purchase a vehicle unfortunately the vehicles check engine light came on and other things I took it back the same day. My sales person was Leonard he took the vehicle for me to have it checked out put me in a loaner until they figured out what was wrong with the vehicle. I got it back and unfortunately the check engine light came on again. Brought it back to get it checked out and they were able to come do to trying to get me into something else. I want to say management and Leonard found me my dream car a 2010 Jeep Compass. It is everything I couldve asked for. My daughter are so in love with the vehicle and my son really loves the vehicle as well. I came to try to get a vehicle just for me to be able to take my son back and fourth to the hospital. I was in need of a vehicle. I came to this place with high hopes as they had a decent rating at the time. Sunday, August 30, I found a Jeep Commander with great mileage, but had a few cosmetic, and mechanical flaws (front seats ripped, tire tread very low: especially on front passenger tire*, A/C did not work, needed cleaning, and inspection*). Mark Blumenthal was the sales rep and told me all of these things would be taken care of prior to purchase. Between August 31, and September 2, I called 5 times looking for Mark to see when I could come pick the car up. I was finally able to get in touch with him and pick the car up on the evening of the second. Shame on me for not doing a thorough look through of the vehicle, but it was late in the evening, and I needed a vehicle for work. Between September 3 and September 11, I called for Mark a total of 12 times and spoke to Mark 3 times. The vehicle passed inspection, but should not have (headlight out due to broken wires from unreported wreck, front passenger tire tread too low), and I informed Mark of this, but, being the weasel conman he is, had nothing but excuses, and finger pointing. Selling a vehicle that has not past inspection, or has a false inspection sticker is a crime. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THESE PEOPLE. The customer service is a sham just to take your money.

This is how car buying is supposed to be. I did my research and knew what the Jeep I was interested was worth to me. Called ahead and Robert had it waiting for me out front. Cut me loose to test drive it. When I got back I made an offer that was accepted. Rob was very helpful and got me through the paperwork in less than 20 minutes. Then Mark got everything finished up in less than an hour. These guys are polite, professional and great to deal with; like buying a car from a buddy. Give them a shot.

Well, I have to say that 518 Auto is awesome!!!! After several months of research and even being turned down by a couple of other places, they made it happen!! From the time I arrived until the time I left the service was amazing! I say this too, because at the other dealerships I visited I felt as though I were being judged. I also felt that they were just not trying and kept me waiting for hours without any updates. This was not the case at 518 Auto. Brian Wagner the Sales consultant kept me in the loop from start to finish! He even went the extra mile and drove my new 2010 Ford Edge home for me. Be aware of fraud at this dealership and/or its partner auto shops:This is a bit long winded, but if you want to be informed about a real situation that occurred with this dealership, then please read. First of all, it takes a good reason for me to write a review on a business, especially a bad one. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership just over a month ago. First experience was not exactly pleasant. I had an appointment, yet the salesman took forever to get to me and the vehicle I was going to test drive had a dead battery. I had to wait until it was charged, then it died again. Needless to say, they were very unprepared for my appointment. Secondly, the engine light was on when I test drove it. They read the code, said it had one for the dead battery (voltage) and one for a cylinder misfire. They wrote it up, agreed to replace battery and spark plugs the next day and I could pick it up after it was completed. I picked it up the next day as planned, they failed to provide paperwork which I asked for. Before I got home, engine light appeared again. I called, they said to bring it back. I brought it back, they said they would take it to get the coil packs replaced, and a full tune up. The vehicle was completed and I picked it up again (this time with a receipt of the work completed). This time, I did not even make it out of the parking lot, engine light came on again. I drove back in, salesman said the service manager had already left, but it should be fine to drive over the weekend and that he would call me back Monday. Monday came and went, no call. I called and spoke to the service manager, where he informed me that not all the spark plugs and coil packs were actually done. I told him that I was told differently, and the receipt said otherwise. Things started to get frustrating and fishy to say the least at this point. I took the vehicle back, for the third time. They had the vehicle for 3 days. I picked it up, engine light was not on. I thanked them and went on my way. The next morning I went out of town (about a 4 hour drive). I noticed that my cruise control light was not working/illuminating. Once I got to my destination, my dad was looking it over, and realized that the engine light was not illuminating when starting it, which all vehicles do. We looked up how to conduct a cluster light test for the lights on the dashboard. I conducted the test in the dark in my garage. When I did, I could see a slight glow, but not a light from the engine light area. I leaned forward and looked down, where I could clearly see the engine light and cruise control light were illuminated behind a black piece of tape. The engine light was still on!!!! They took the glass out and covered the lights with a black piece of tape!! I got a hold of the owner that night, told him my piece of mind. He agreed to allow me to take it to a Jeep dealership to get diagnostics done. Turns out, the whole issue was a recall. There were other things that was not covered under the recall that was contributing to the engine light. Needless to say, after much deliberating, arguing, the owner ended up paying a $1750 bill from Jeep. I never got an answer on who put the tape on, but I can tell you that the dealership new about it. This is absolutely fraud, in which I couldve taken them to court. I decided not to, as the owner agreed to pay the bill, however, I do think its important to inform others of what a huge legal issue and fraudulent place this is.
Jermaine helped me purchase my vehicle within a hour. He ensured I received the best rate and made me feel comfortable through the entire process. Im sure all the salesmen are great but I recommend asking for Jermaine if you are looking to purchase a vehicle.
I bought a car from them in 2017, Mike and Kyle helped me the first time, they even offered financing, but I didnt need it since I bank with NFCU. The whole process was super easy, they didnt hawk me in the dealership lot, they let me browse, didnt breathe down my neck, Kyle even negotiated on the price since there were a few scratches on the car, 3 years later the car is paid off and still runs great. I bought another car from them this year in May, Ryan helped me this time. I asked about Mike and Kyle, but theyre the big dogs now lol, so not much at the dealership. Ryan was just as helpful and polite. I really was set on a 2008 SUV, but it had some issues that he was transparent about, he even suggested a 2012 model that I test drove and loved. He had to school me on an engine ticking that alarmed me, but is actually normal for the engine/vehicle. Ryan and a manager tried to get me financed, they tried many banks while I waited for approval from NFCU, their banks interest rates were much higher than desired, so I went with NFCU once they approved me at 4%, but still, them trying to help me anyway is a big deal to me. I even got a 3 year warranty for peace of mind. In a couple years we will be back to get my husband his dream truck, and shortly after Ill be back to get another SUV. You wont go wrong with going to 518, I wont go anywhere else to buy my cars. Thanks 518!!
I drove from NC to get an H3 they had in the lot. The vehicle was reasonably priced. When I got there we found that the vehicle had a small mechanical issue, common thing when youre buying a ten year old vehicle. Both Mikes have been incredible about taking care of the issue and Bryan, my salesman, was fantastic. Everybody at the store has been friendly and helpful and has taken ownership of me as a customer. Bought a 03 santa fe from here. for $5,000. Was promised they will fix the AC in my vehicle, as soon as i drove the next day the AC no longer worked. That same day i can hear the ball joints giving out and my arm to hold the trunk up broke. Next week the cap to turn off your brake lights once your done braking shattered. still have not gotten a call back.
Leonard and Mark were very helpful in assisting in any way possible to make sure that we were as comfortable as we could be purchasing a vehicle. Even though we ended up not coming to an agreement, they were very helpful in coming up with the best solution. Do not buy here ! I purchased a car here about 3 or 4 months ago and already having major problems. First my ac was only working on the highway now not at all and I took it to get checked out and it’s 1500$ to replace the compressor and some other things. Also I have a noise my car makes when I turn the wheel that I still need to get checked out.

When the honda dealership was working on my car they let me all of the damage and told me the car had to have been on flood water...Please check your car especially underneath..Will NOT BE RETURNING

I recently said that this place was great I take that back, I financed a 2013 Chevy sonic from these people. It was running fine and the check engine light was not on at all, the next day the check engine light popped on but I thought nothing of it until when I started driving.... It was shuddering/rumbling really bad, and the check engine light started blinking. I had to pull over and stop driving, I got it checked out at Autozone and they said it was a sparkplug and something about bad fuel emissions. I said okay thats not too bad but I went back to the dealership to see if I could return before the 30 days because they lied they said it was perfectly fine, but when I went over there and told Ryan our dealer the car was messing up he automatically said Ohh it must be the spark plugs right when i told him that clearly states that he knew what was wrong. but thats not all he told me that its an easy fix, I went home bought spark plugs and tried to do it myself already spending money on a car I just bought. when I took the power distribution bar off I found the problem, the boots that connect to the spark plugs were badly damaged and literally every one had some sort of adhesive connecting it together besides the last one, well funny story the last one was completely broken off and stuck to one of the spark plugs!!!!! they must have looked at the spark plugs to change it before the resell and realized the problem is bigger and just decided not to fix it and leave it to a customer to deal with. Not to mention they reset the check engine light, this is by no means a horrible feeling place, Im just telling you they will say legit anything to get a deal out of you be warned! (will post pictures after i spend $200 to fix it)..........

Went here to look at a car that is posted for sale on there web site and it wasnt even on the front lot. It needed a mile long list of repairs and wasnt able to be test driven. Your cars should not be posted if you cant drive them . be aware this place will sell you a lemon .

Thanks Ryan and team!4 month later: 2 appts to complete service for my vehicle I was stood up for. 3rd time and the loaner they gave me died leaving my daughter and I stuck on the side of the road! Someone from dealership drives by, sees car and goes to get it running enough to get back to dealership but doesn’t care that we are stranded! Doesn’t speak to us, offer help, apologize, nothing! I’ve never received an apology from management once for any of the mishaps. (Ryan has tried his best, his management has failed him). I have no doubt that they will be selling the 2016 CRV that just stranded me, and someone will be buying a lemon. Buyers beware! They care more about the cars than leaving a mom and her daughter on the side of a busy road. Just an apology would have been something. Just acknowledge you screwed up and maybe I wouldn’t be writing this.
I had great customer service. I picked out several cars and was shown the car fax for each car. I was shown every car and I picked two. I was given time to think before I made a final decision. They provided services when I pointed out a few problems with no hassle. Would recomend to others if they need a car at a good price.

518 Auto Sales is an awesome place to go find a used car with a seamless experience and great customer service. I went in to find a car for myself and liked it a lot too. Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen situations, I had to back out of buying altogether. Tyrone was awesome and understood my needs and budgets. Vehicles are priced great. I regret not being able to buy from them. However, I do recommend them to anyone looking for a well maintained, detailed car with excellent customer service. Cheers!! Keep up the good work. Guys like you bring back the lost faith on dealerships.
