I didn’t expect to receive the car until late Dec/early Jan. Both Shannon and Mark took their time explaining everything instead of trying to rush through it like other dealerships. 10/10
Anthony Carey provided excellent service and was able to get all questions answered. He was very patient. Some issues came up but we were able to get them resolved. If you go to the dealership ask for him. He made the painful process of buying a vehicle a little less painful. Also a shout out to Mark who did the financing paperwork. Just like most people I was very overwhelmed with the idea of buying a new car. I made many appts with different dealerships in an effort to buy a nice car at a fair price. Well once I made contact with Efrem (cool name for a cool guy) Huger at the Chesapeake location everything went very smoothly. He made me feel comfortable about the process and made sure I understood everything that was happening with the buying process. My last stop in the process was meeting with James Regan in the finance department at the Norfolk location. He too made sure I understood everything that was happening and answered all my questions. Very nice guy. I highly recommend coming to this dealership for ease of car buying. Make sure to say hi to Tanya, the receptionist because she is so sweet.

HORRIBLE! Once again a disappointing experience! Had issues with the service department here before, and once again they give me terrible service. Took my car in for service on Friday August 21, 2020. The car ended up sitting there all weekend due to issues service department said they was having with their computer. I picked up the vehicle on Monday August 24, 2020. I saw what I thought was dirt/dust all over the vehicle so paid it no mind. I went ahead and paid and went about my business. I took it to a car wash on Tuesday August 25, 2020 and what was on it just would not come off. I went thru the car wash 2 times. What is on it is all over the windows and car from top to bottom, front to back. I thought maybe it was sea spray as I live right by the beach in Norfolk. A friend of mine cleans cars so I took it to him to look at and he said it is paint overspray on my vehicle and it actually looks like primer. I took it up to the service department and spoke to the service manager, Shawn Elza, and showed him my car. He said there was no way that could of happened and took me to the body shop manager and he agreed. They told me to make an insurance claim and denied any responsibility. Photos do not do this justice of the amount of paint and total car coverage of it.

The sales person (Ray) was very helpful and did everything in his power to ensure we were taken care of. The finance person (Mark) was very efficient and friendly and also ensured we were taken care of. If I were to change anything it would be to give the Finance team better technology ( to much paper on this visit) also we were there at the dealership for over 4 hours (way to long). The sales team needs to have better knowledge of what they are selling. Fortunately we already new the car, but for someone that didn’t know could be a problem . Overall customer service was 5 stars.
What a wonderful shopping experience start to finish. They pulled the car around I wanted to look at immediately, they even accommodated me by pulling the car into a garage for me to look at since I have trouble standing due to a surgery. The whole process and everything was explained to me every step of the way. I was pleasantly surprised at my Sales person Justin Carr. He was polite and worked to get me everything I asked for. I didnt care for the finance manager, Jay G., as he got ugly with me when I said I didnt want the gap insurance. He then told me I wasnt approved anywhere else but the one place my loan is currently through. I called two of the places and they both have stated I was, of course at a bit higher rate, however, a shorter term, for which I WANTED. He did say come back and he will help me refinance at a lower rate. So we will see, and maybe just maybe this review will be amended. Besides all this. I love my Jeep and would definitely work with my salesman Justin again!
DO NOT come here for a simple oil change or other express service. Arrived with an empty garage and was told Id have to leave my truck over night....for an oil change?!?! Everytime Ive showed up early theyre almost 10 cars deep and the line doesnt move. It is not Express by any means.
The worst thing I ever could have done was sign over my paid off armada for the trade in. I have to come back in several time to “resign” paperwork. Here I am a year later finding out my warranty was changed on the final deal. They fast talk ya and rush u to sign paperwork not discussed in the deal. Underhanded and shiesty would be the best words to describe this company. ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS ETHICS!
Jorge was amazing even when I couldn’t put down a lot for the car I wanted he got me a deal on a different vehicle the same male and model. I am beyond happy with the dealership but jot services because they lost my key to my other charger. Highly recommend Jorge to anyone looking to get a car!!!

We have been purchasing our jeeps at Southern Dodge for years. We usually do our research first so we know what we want and dont want. The sales people are always nice...not pushy. We are trading in now and going a little more upscale. Were having it built to our specks since there are not too many new cars really available right now. Good trade ins on used though!

Wouldnt buy from here again. Bought a car, had to wait 3 days to even get it. Then when we got it the rear differential needed to be replaced. Took almost a month for that, then got the vehicle back and it doesnt drive right. Took it in and they said it drives like a dream but I almost got in a wreck because the car hesitated. No one explained anything to us. Very disappointed and almost want to take the car and trade it in for another one.

Drove down from Maryland to buy this truck. A little different because of covid. Price was agreed on prior to me getting to the dealership. I pulled up, my truck was ready and waiting. Probably two hours and I was on my way back home with my nice new Ram 1500. Everyone was polite, helpful before during and after the sale.

I was disappointed with my visit to the dealership. I had called to ensure the make/model of car I was looking for was available for a test drive that I had seen on their website. They assured me there were “four or five of them on the lot.” I made an appointment for later that afternoon and got my entire family in the car to drive down to the dealership. Upon arrival I got my kids and car seats out to put all three children in the car to make sure it would be a good fit for my family. I was welcomed upon arrival and everything seemed in order. Then the stalling and waiting game began. I was told they were looking for the keys after about ten minutes. I was told the vehicle was getting readied for the test drive after twenty minutes. After about forty minutes and repeated inquiries I was finally told that they actually didn’t have any of the vehicle I had come to test drive/purchase. A variety of excuses for why they didn’t have it were given. It was a big disappointment. If you’ve never gone car shopping with three car seat sized kids and waited for about an hour to buy a car only to be told they messed up, you’re missing out.The next day I got a follow up call on my visit, I explained what happened and was assured they would locate the vehicle (supposedly it was at the other dealership), and bring it directly to me. That was a couple days ago and I’m still waiting.I would recommend one of the other dealerships over Southern. It seems like they don’t have an efficient way of tracking their inventory nor of solid follow-up with customers.***********Update: the manager reached out asking how he could make this right. They found the car I’d come in to test drive, brought it to my house and let me keep it for three days before coming to get it. Southern definitely worked hard to right a misstep and I changed my review from 1 star to 4 to reflect their great attitude.

I went to Southern on my birthday with the intent of getting a Jeep Wrangler. I found one online that I liked and made an appointment with a sales associate to see the vehicle that evening. When I got there, they had already sold the jeep and no one seemed to be aware of my appointment. I was fortunate enough to meet a sales person named Anthony Ray. He did everything he could to find me a Wrangler that would make me happy and get me into it. I had my Wrangler for less than 48 hours when a tiny part on the seat broke. I called Anthony and he made sure I could get in ASAP to get the service dept to fix the issue. 2 weeks later and I still dont have my vehicle back. The service department, when they actually answer the phone which is rare, is rude and doesnt want to speak to me. the service rep I was given was Tina. she never once reached out to me to update me on my vehicle. I had the misfortune to speak with her once and she was rude and dismissive. She then lied and said I would have my vehicle back the next business day which of course never happened. Throughout this entire process service has been incommunicado. HOWEVER, Anthony has been over the top helpful, answers my numerous calls on the first ring every time, texts me back and keeps on top of service to try and get my car back. The only reason there are 3 stars instead of one is because of Anthony. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO SOUTHERN SERVICE. Maybe one day they will give me my Jeep back...
Once again I was very pleased with the support that I received from Kevin Lovell and James Regan. These two make a great team and saved me money. I had dealt with Kevin before and felt confident that he would once again do a good job, and he and James did just that by working together to create a smooth process for me. Both Kevin and James explained things to me very carefully, never talking down to me because I was a female. Thank you very much guys

Reggie Myers became a fast friend of mine thanks to some awesome mutual friends. He took such great care of me and literally found my vehicle within 2 hours. I’m a single mom and this was my first vehicle purchase so I was really nervous. I couldn’t be happier. The finance director James Regan was quick and super nice. I would definitely buy from Southern again and there’s literally no one else I would use outside of Reggie.

I bought used Jeep Cherokee here. After emailing ahead to see the car, I was then contacted and had an appointment set up to come test drive the car. John and his staff were very knowledgeable and answered my questions about the vehicle. The other staff members that I met with gave me all of the information I needed (and bought) for interior and exterior warranties/services. The financial advisor worked with me to get the best loan for me that I could afford and even filed the dmv paperwork on my behalf. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this dealership!
