Placed a large order of taffy apples, chocolate covered pretzels, and a couple of boxes of specialty Halloween π apples. The process of placing the order, to picking up the order was easy and the warehouse people even helped with loading the orders into the car. Overall great experience and the taffy apples were a HIT!
Wow, what happened to the quality of your Taffy Apples? See attached picture. I purchased a case of you apples this past Saturday and so far 6 of the apples were in bad shape, not as bad as the pictured apple, but pretty bad.The apples were at a point that I had to cut away a good portion of the apple leaving me with just about a half apple to eat. Many were badly bruised and soft.Very disappointing that your quality control has dropped as bad as it is!!8 unopened apples still remain. I wonder what the quality will be???
We attended the small family festival they had. My toddler had so much fun! She loved the mascot, and the glitter, and airbrush tattoos. My teenager loved the fact, that there were other treats available other then only apples. My husband and I enjoyed seeing the kids have a good time. We also bought a case of apples. We passed a lot of them out. We only kept about 8 of them and within 4-5 days, they were starting to ooze caramel out of the container. When I went to cut one, the stick came right out. The apple was brown on the inside. I had to throw away the last 3 because they were so mushy. I noticed many reviews mentioning the same. My house is not warm, nor hot by any means. I did not store them in any type of warm temperature, that is exactly why I kept them on the table. Maybe the quality control, isnt what it used to be.....if so many reviews mention the same issue.
Please stop using soft apples! This happens a lot and I have emailed the Affy Tapple customer service a few times with no reply. I have returned them to the grocery store as well and I keep thinking the quality will improve and I keep being disappointed. The last Affy Tapple I tried to eat was bruised and as soft as apple sauce inside. Yuck! It was the 1st one out of the package too. If anyone else has this issue please speak up to Affy Tapple. I find it hard to believe that this just keeps happening to me. All the best, K
Fun store! Its small but bring the kids Good pics! Friendly nice staff good selection Get a box they go fast Yum!
I bought two packs of 3 caramel apples. Both packages were brown in the centers and didnt taste good. The quality was poor, very disappointed in your product.
I purchased a case of Taffy Apples and all of the apples are brown inside. The caramel are soft and the ones with nuts are brown. Iβm very disappointed I paid $48 dollars.
They are the bomb. Just like I remember them as a kid. Im from Chicago and didnt know they were a Chicago thing. I live in Georgia now and thankful they are available seasonal. Great product. Keep doing what youre doing.
Not what it used to be. Employees werent kind and the products were subpar way before the expiration date. Disappointed
I just bought a 3 pack Affy Tapple and after sitting at room temperature and when I took one out of the wrap to eat the caramel was soft and runny and the Apple soft and mushy. Yuck! I do not believe this is real caramel but some concoction. The room temp was no more than 70 degrees. I will NEVER buy these again.
Delicious apple tapple. A person can purchase one apple tapple or buy by the case. Also for sale at this outlet store is an assortment of confectionery. If in the area stop in.
As a parent I want the best for my children!!! As they were so excited to sell candy apples for their schoolβs fundraiser. My smallest being in kindergarten her first time selling anything my oldest in 2nd her second time selling from the same school same company !!! We sold over 150+ items majority of those apples went to a nursing home. Yes a nursing home and yes the residents were able to eat them and some just wanted to pass them out their grand babies. But can you IMAGINE THE CALLS I received all weekend about the apples being spoiled, rotten, mushy ETC Popcorn was STALEEE !!!! Most of them asking for their money BACK !!! I totally understood why they feel like that tho !! But come on EVERY APPLE. Iβm so disappointed and disgusted with this years OUTCOME of product!!! I really hope they fix this problem them out of all people didnβt deserve to see that.
Great! Super nice. Much cheaper and fresher to buy direct. Tasty!
Bought 5 apples to try out before buying several cases for a planned fundraiser. The apples were all rotton brown and the sticks just pulled out. 1 apple actually had mold. We dont want a coupon to buy more bad apples. So sad. Kids were very disappointed.
Really disappointed in these years apples. Have bought several packs of these and all have been rotten ! So dissatisfied I look foward to these apples every year and they really disappointed.
All the apples π I bought this year were rotten. Brown mush.
This place never disappoints. They have excellent dishes for convenient prices, there is no waiting time even when they are loaded.
This place is a Chicagoland Legend!. The case of taffy apples we got where fresh, the apples were crispy and the Taffy was moist and sweet. Their caramel corn is excellent; we purchased 20 bags to give out as gifts and their new pretzel bites covered in chocolate were a huge hit at our office and I plan to buy a caseload over Christmas time to give out as gifts. I highly recommend this locally owned business to anyone.
Limited product available which I guess is due to covid. What I did purchase was fabulous as usual. Sure did miss these taffy apples during covid!
Affy Tapple Caramel Apple with Sprinkles: Now that autumn is upon us I can start to enjoy some seasonal treats (along with the fall colors all the good food is the only consolation to the death of summer). I could not have cared less for caramel apples as a kid, but I sure do love them now. Affy Tapple offers a few different varieties, but my current favorite is the sprinkle version. Visually the treat looks gorgeous. Its an apple coated with delicious caramel and a thick veil of sprinkles. The sprinkles come in a gorgeous rainbow of colors and it looks fantastic. Taking a bite out of this thing gives me a major sugar rush and Im not complaining. The caramel coating is thick, chewy, and sweet, while the sprinkles add a little crunch and a second jolt of sugar. I prefer these apples over other brands because they are reasonably sized and priced. These arent your steroid infused apples that are 4x the size of standard apples, so eating one wont kill your diet or give you diabetes. One apple is 225 calories (the 28g of sugar is more of the concern). Doughboy approved! Doughboy_Food_Reviews
Just opened back up. So they didnt have all the delightful treats they usually have. Spent $12. on a special apple. It didnt taste all that rich π, but it was good none the less. Young lady was there and very nice and helpful. So thanks Affy Tapple
The apples looked delicious. The had a sell on a case of apples for $5!
Great place to pick up taffy apples inexpensively.
Still the best of anything you would find at a local grocer. Not a fan though of the new apple pie taffy Apple, sickeningly sweet, way too many ingredients, Had me missing the nuts almost immediately, when replaced with these overprocessed pie pebbles! Apple and caramel as usual weβre delicious.
I placed an order over a month in advance and got 2 day air shipping to make sure it was delivered on time. Never got an email or anything from them stating that my order would not be on time. When I called customer service it is on the truck to be shipped 3 days late. They didnβt care that I paid the $25 to have it shipped to be there in time. I will not be ordering from here again.
If its one thing I love during the fall weather is heading to Affy Tapple and picking up a π¦ of these delicious granny smith apples just for me, then another for the fam bam to share. All their other treats are scrumptious as well along with great prices! See you soon.
Meet the Emma from My Neighbor Totoro.
Love these Apples and the cashier was friendly
I have been eating these apples for 50 years. I have NEVER gotten anything but a green apple. They were crisp, tangy and the caramel made it perfect. This year the case, the individual 3 piece at the stores have been awful. The apples are red, mealy & sweet. Disappointed. Customer service responded with we use red and green apples, the best quality product availableI have been reading all the comments and found out I am not alone! Many others remember only green apples as well. It would be great if customers could choose red or green themselves.UPDATEReceived my 3rd shipment of apples today. These were fantastic! Nice firm crisp apple. Not granny smith but fresh and crisp. These really are over the top with a tart apple...what that taffy does to granny smith....
Bought a 3 pack at a local grocer... expiration not until Oct. 27th. Knew from prior years when the stick comes right out of the apple there is a problem. Well I was right... whole inside of all 3 apples were brown and rotten. Not sure who is to blame, grocer or Affy Tapple? But the fact that expiration is not until the 27th tells me its Affy Tapple.
Small discount store but if you want some sweets on the super cheap this is the place. They are discounted due to imperfections in the way the chocolate covered the product or not even. Great deals at this place!
Great place to visit. Apples are delicious as ever. Always make the annual Halloween trip.
If you love caramel apples- is there even anywhere else youd go? Carmel apples, triple chocolate, caramel popcorn, pretzel rods... they have lots to choose from.
So disappointing! I am 59 years old and my family and I have been going to the factory outlet or buying them as part of a catholic school fundraiser for over 50 years. I do not know if the ownership has changed, but the service and the quality of the apples have changed dramatically. I just called in to ask about the apples and the person answering the phone was short and rude. She told me good bye before I even finished asking my question. The voicemail says that the factory store is closed due to COVID-19 so we didnt stop by yesterday as part of our yearly trip to an apple orchard. Lastly, the prices at the factory store are higher than they are at wholesale candy stores in the area. It is obviously time to find a new product or learn how to make the apples myself! The one-star is for idea conception only!
The chocolate covered pretzels are amazing. They dont always have them so, you just have to stop by and check. Just picked up some the other day. 5/$1. Not bad. Definitely recommend this place
Prices at the Outlet were more than local stores. Outlet store carries minimal items.Workers were nice.
Very fresh apples. My favorite is the Chocolate Cashew Caramel Apple. It tastes like Turtles. The prices are awesome for the quality. They also sell by the box.
Bought one for my six year old and brought it home and it said refrigerate so I did pulled it out put ig on the counter to not be so cold and the next day it had small bugs flies in the packaging. I took pictures dont waist your money.
Fantastic product. I ordered a dozen apples online for a birthday gift (in Arizona)and they were fabulous!! Pick a date shipping meant they arrived right on time and the apples were crisp and tart the carmel chewy and delicious. I cant say enough good things, they were perfect for a fall birthday.
Not many choices. Cases of Taffy Apples available. Cheese popcorn overpriced and had an odd aftertaste. Tossed it out...
Let me start out with I love Affy Tapple. However this time I got a 3 pack and 2 out of 3 of my apples were brown inside and the sticks came right out of the apple. I was so disappointed. I had a craving for one.
Although, 2017 was what I believe was a bad year for apples there, I like this place. Its a great spot to get apples for fundraising. They also have a fun day when you can bring your children and make your own apples, color, and take pictures with the Affy Tapple mascot. The service is nice enough and the price are good.
Had no idea the company was local until I randomly saw one of their delivery trucks list the address. Easy to miss the little store if youre not following Google. Initially wondered if I came to wrong location.Mom LOVES these and buys a three pack weekly so we made the trip from Chicago. Bought a case to include in the candy bag for my sons first birthday. Staff was super friendly and helpful as we juggled a baby, stroller and cases of apples.
Not a lot of variety due to covid
Underwhelmed by the atmosphere- albeit, this was my first time experience with this franchise. I might need to go again but I doubt that I will. First impressions count!
UPDATE :I ordered some fundraiser apples. Bad batch. Wrote a review on the disappointment and was contacted the next day by the company . Customer service was awesome as they sent a brand new box of apples and were very nice. They apologized for the mishap as explained sometimes if the apples arenβt cared for in transition they will lose their luster. I appreciate the gesture. Not too many companies care. Thanks!
I am not pleased with my package of 3 apples. Each one was brown mush inside. I was very happy I cut each open and not biting into my apple. This is the first time I had a bad experience with the apples. I found out later my neighbor had the same experience. From now on I will make my own caramel apples.
Today i went to my store and i saw the Affy Tapple i was so excited to see this item in the store so i brought some and i had one tonight and they where so bad the caramel was very stale and the apple was super soft it was so gross i could not eat the Affy Tapple so they where NOT edible i was super disappointed because i was craving this so they where half the size they normally are so i ended up almost crying but Dairy queen saved me from crying tonight and i also spent $ 5.99 on something that isnt edible
Love the place. You get taffy apples by the box or singles. Also variety of taffy apples. The original taffy apple place. Good prices.
A little store tucked back in an industrial park but well worth the trip. A case of tardy apples runs around $21, plain or peanut. Chocolate pretzel rods, caramels, Carmel corn, big fancy apples with a glass counter of chocolates, the best toffee Ive ever tasted, pixies and an item they call a puck of Carmel and peanuts about the size of a half a muffin. Some apparel.Defintely a place to visit without the kids.
I purchased 2 3 packs of the affy apples here in Glenview and about half of the inside of the apples was brown and mushy. I cut out the brown mushy part and ate what was left of the apples. The expiration had yet to come. I was disappointed but the part that wasnt rotten tasted great.
I love Affy Tapples and the factory is a great place to get discounted treats. The hours are horrible, so it is hard to visit, but if you are in the area between 9-5 on weekdays or before 2 on Saturday, you can get some great deals. They have regular and jumbo sized taffy and chocolate apples, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate candy, caramels, and seasonal items for holidays. It is their small factory store and is located off the main road.
I purchased two of the pack and the apples were not crisp at all, they were rotten apples!!
Agree with other bad reviews. Last time buying. Must be using old apples. Pick up apple by the stick and the apple falls off. Apples should be crisp, not soft .Inside of apple is brown even though expiration date is not for a least ten days. What is going on with this company.
Perfectly fresh and delicious as always
I had a craving for a caramel apple and bought a 3 pack at Aldis. I have been eating caramel apples for 6 decades and these are, hands down, the BEST I have EVER had. The apple was the perfect size, crisp, not too tart, not too sweet, firm. The caramel was buttery, thick and delicious. Completely coated with peanuts. I guess after almost 70 years Affy Tapples are experts! There was no way these apples could have been better.
It was fun returning to a childhood favorite, although theyve moved since I was a kid. Be careful when buying the sale apples. Ours were already rotting.
What is going on with this years Affy Tapples? Every year we really look forward to them, but this year, every time we have picked them up, they are half rotten! Yuck! We make sure the date is good, but that does not help. I am giving up this year. Hope they are better next year or we will have to find a new brand.
Love this little spot its a great place to get old school affy apples. Clean nice employees. But why did they close it down???
Participated in a fundraiser for my sons school and he sold 4 or 5 boxes of 24 apples (caramel only and some peanut). 2 people complained the box of apples they received were rotten in the center and I couldnβt even debate it because a few of mine in my box were. Very brown and soggy and falling off the wooden stick. I refunded their money and of course Iβm out of cash while the product wasnβt even used either. Totally upset. Iβll never participate in another school fundraiser for this company nor will I recommend them
These apples looked so amazing I bought them from HyVee however I will never buy these ever again. I cut one open, rotten on the inside, cut a second one, rotten and finally the third, rotten.
One of Chicagos best places to go if youre into caramel apples
Time I every time I go I never seem to have a problem I like athlete apple and whenever I order or send some to family and friends they dont ever have a disappointment I like itπ
Best Fresh Apples Originally from Illinois I miss them lots so I order lots.
Unbelievable products. Soooo good and very tasty. The best quality.
Quaint! Nice
I usually love these apples but I just cut into one and the inside is covered with red dye. Yuk my apple has veins. Dont want to buy anymore for this season. Its gross.
Best Apples
No fresh apples, service bad
Top quality apples. Mrs. Prindableβs apples canβt be beat.
Every year i am really look forward to them, but this year i am bought for my daughter sent to thailandAnd today i am test one....very soft it is show best by 12/ 06 /2017 i am make sure the date is good, but that does not help....
I have been eating Affy Tapples since the 1960s, today was the last time I will waste my money on these. I used to buy a few 3 packs each time I was out grocery shopping all fall/early winter. Last year, I barely bought any because they seemed off, this year, astonishingly enough, they are worse than last year. Apparently theyve decided to stop using quality apples and now exclusively use soft flavorless garbage apples . I can only assume they mistakenly thought this was a good way to increase profits, they must not be aware of the long list of other companies that have failed with this mentality.
I actually purchased approximately 6 cases of Affy Tapple apples for a fundraiser event. The apples purchased were 90% BAD (rotten 2 the core) ones. The company replaced 3 cases, however the replacements were also BAD (rotten 2 the core) ones. I asked for a full refund, I was denied, but was told that I will be given an in store credit, after 2 attempts. Why should I wasted my time, energy and gas for an in store credit. I am not a satisfied customer, I would like a FULL refund for my purchase, at this time...what happened to the statement if you are not fully satisfied...a FULL refund will be guaranteed..Customer satisfaction is not honored these days..
I opened my 3 pack of carnal apples and I found a bug on the top of one of them I bought them from cub foods in minneapolis mn please help me with this issue thanks
We go every year and get 8 cases of individual wrapped apples for Halloween. The kids in the neighborhood love it and we are known as the Affy Tapple house.
Great place, good prices, good products.
Fast service & helpful. Great deals for apples. Always have fresh apples.
Nice little factory store. Decent prices.
To begin with it was hard to ask questions, before making the trip. We called during business hours and had to leave a name, number and message. About two hours later somebody called us back.We then made the 45 minute trip. It was nothing like we expected, store was very small, low on stock and the lady rather unfriendly. We explained to her that we had purchased several 3 packs of Affy Tapples at our local Jewel and about 50% were rotten. Her response resembled a grunt. We purchased less than we expected to because the expiration dates were only a few days away, and the apples very small. We bought 2 with peanuts, 2 with Halloween sprinkles, and 2 plain - I also got a plain deluxe apple which was more than double the price but appeared to have extra caramel and was large. At the register we commented that we hoped we would have a better experience, her response a simple well you should. Now that we have eaten most of our apples I can say Im extremely disappointed! The peanut apples were fine, but the both the plain and sprinkled apples were soft and mealy inside, nothing crisp at all about them. The caramel was watery and kind of slid off the apple in spots and getting them out of the paper cups was very hard (I always get plain or sprinkled apples and have never had a severe issue like this). And tonight I cut into my large premium apple only to find it brown and rotten inside.I will not ever make the trip to their store again, and kind if feel like this should be an outlet or factory second store as the apples were definitely not fresh, nor were they cheaper than in the grocery store. I was also shocked that they did not even apologize for the bad apples we had received at Jewel. This experience will likely cause me to think twice about ever purchasing affy Tapples anywhere again! There are much better apples out there!
I buy two cases every Halloween and the kids go crazy. These are the best around and the original.
Incredible service. Very friendly and accommodating.Thank you guy.
I do deliveries here and they always have free samples for me awsome staff
It was great!
I purchased several 3 packs of that affy tapples and everyone was rotten! Took a pic of that one that I attempted to eat for evidence for the company because I had emailed them. Well, thats been over 2 wks ago and havent heard anything from them! Just bad customer service and product period!
Great service even when they were super busy.
Opened my apple from Meijer and it was rotten all the way through. Purchased it today from Meijer. Very disappointed :(
The apples were all like soft but they were still good
This place is normally good, this time the apples were old and turning brown
Mrs. Prindables chocolate covered apples at rock-bottom prices.
Been going to them since they were on Clark st in Chicago. Only bad part is they donβt have frozen bananas any more π
I enjoy this place, I do a lot of fundraising from here. #yuuummmm
Associate is not friendly. I drove an hour to get there and couldnt even use the bathroom.
Simply The Best!
Its affy tapple. The best

JUST as good as i remembered them...maybe better!no doubt ill be ordering more!!
